Getting in a fitness outing before the night's celebratory festivities, Reese Witherspoon was busy jogging with Jim Toth in Santa Monica on Friday (December 31).
The "Legally Blonde" babe looked fit and fine in her running gear as she joined her agent fiance for the calorie-burning adventure before heading home to prep for the New Year's Eve holiday.
While she's currently enjoying free time with her man, Reese can next be seen alongside "Twilight" hunk Robert Pattinson in the book based film "Water For Elephants".
Due out in theaters in April, a new trailer for the much-anticipated work about "a veterinary student abandoning his studies after his parents are killed to join a traveling circus as their vet" has just been released for fans' viewing pleasure.

The duo has been dating for over a year, and many speculated this would be the relationship that sticks for the all-American Reese. “They are extremely happy,” a rep tells Us Weekly magazine.
The Oscar-winning actress, 34, began dating Toth, 40, around January 2010, shortly after her split from Jake Gyllenhaal. The duo went public with their romance in March during a romantic birthday weekend in Ojai, Calif.

FFS. Just ONCE this week I?d like to return to my laptop after a refreshing holiday nap to find that some celebrity has NOT gotten engaged. The latest in the neverending string of engagement announcements is Reese Witherspoon and her CAA agent boyfriend Jim Toth. According to Us Weekly, who got a confirmation from Reese?s rep, they got engaged at some point, although there is no confirmation as to when it happened. Christmas engagement? Ugh. At least all of these weddings will help the economy?
Reese Witherspoon is ready to walk down the aisle again!
She and Hollywood agent Jim Toth are engaged, her rep confirms exclusively to UsMagazine.com. “They are extremely happy,” the rep tells Us.
The Oscar-winning actress, 34, began dating Toth, 40, around January 2010, shortly after her split from Jake Gyllenhaal. The duo went public with their romance in March during a romantic birthday weekend in Ojai, Calif.
Toth works as an agent at L.A.’s Creative Artists Agency; Witherspoon is a CAA client, but Toth doesn’t represent her.
Witherspoon and actor Ryan Phillippe divorced in 2008 after seven years together; the former spouses share daughter Ava, 11, and Deacon, 7. Insiders told Us Weekly that Toth has “bonded” with Witherspoon’s kids. In fact, while Witherspoon shot This Means War in Vancouver last fall, Toth stayed with her little ones at her home in L.A.’s Brentwood area. “Ava and Deacon are happy with him,” the source adds.
Witherspoon joked about engagement talk to Entertainment Weekly recently. “My mom always texts me, like, ‘Are you getting married?’” Witherspoon said, laughing. “I’m like, ‘Mom, come on! You would know if I was getting married.’”
A pal says of Witherspoon’s romance with Toth: “She is definitely happy, in love and definitely wants to settle down.”

Maybe it?s just because the onslaught of celebrity engagement announcements has made my eyes glaze over, or maybe it?s just because I?m missing ?the bride gene? (true story), but seriously people, enough already.
That being said, congratulations to Reese and Jim. Out of all of the celebrity engagement announcements, I think Reese and Jim probably have one of the best shots for a long and happy marriage. He seems low-key and happy to give her the spotlight, and she seems less anal retentive and uptight now that she?s in a fulfilling relationship. I wish them the best, and I?m kind of hoping Reese gets pregnant again.
Also - did you hear that? That was the sound of Jake Gyllenhaal’s WAIL OF DOOM. He just moaned/sobbed into his coffee and Swifty stopped daydreaming about John Mayer long enough to say “What’s wrong now, bitch?”

Treating herself to some rest and relaxation, Reese Witherspoon was spotted out at the Ona Spa in Los Angeles yesterday (December 21).
The ?Cruel Intentions? actress braved the rainy conditions, and looked cute in a navy blue hooded jacket with a red scarf.
And though she?s always in the public eye, Reese still hasn?t grown accustomed to seeing herself in pictures.
"I literally think I look bad in every picture. I don't know, who feels good looking at themselves? Nobody, right? It's torture. Why would you want to watch yourself being stupid and pretending to be somebody else?"

I was really surprised to hear that the Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson comedy How Do You Know finished a very low eighth at the box office on this, its opening weekend. I remember that Reese and Vince Vaughn’s Four Christmases really cleaned up at the box office when it opened around Thanksgiving, 2008, which was surprising because the film was generally considered to be total crap. How Do You Know didn’t fare much better with critics, with a current 35% on Rotten Tomatoes as compared to Christmases 25%. Still, it has Reese, Owen Wilson, Paul Rudd and Jack Nicholson in it. How could it go so wrong? Tron Legacy also opened this weekend, as did that Yogi Bear movie and wide releases of The Fighter and Black Swan, all of which trounced the generally unremarkable romcom How Do You Know. (Update: Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Tourist and Tangled also outperformed this film.) Here’s more from Radar.
The box office numbers this weekend come with more extremely bad news for A-List stars, RadarOnline.com is reporting.
How Do You Know, starring Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, Paul Rudd and Jack Nicholson, is one spectacular flop, and will be among the biggest financial disasters for any studio in 2010.
How Do You Know, which cost $120 million to produce with all those big star paychecks, took in just $7.6 million its opening weekend. That’s one huge ouch!
The Tourist, with Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie, continued its slide after a mediocre opening last week. It finished fifth this weekend, taking in a tepid $8.7 million.
Number one in the box office rally was TRON: Legacy 3 D, with an estimated $43.6 million in ticket sales.
But the real winner, for the third weekend in a row, is Black Swan. The Natalie Portman thriller took in another $8.3 million this weekend in fewer than 1000 theaters. It has already grossed more than the mere $13 million it cost to produce.

This makes me a little sad! I like romcoms and I love Reese. I would have seen this movie eventually, after The Fighter, Black Swan and Yogi Bear (I have a six year old). I guess that’s the problem. How Do You Know could have done well on a less crowded and less competitive opening weekend. They should have waited until next year to release it. It makes me wonder why they put it out for the holiday season. We have a lot more mindless action movies to look forward to instead of mindless chick flicks. I guess it’s a wash really.

Keeping busy over the weekend, Reese Witherspoon was spotted imbibing in a bout of retail therapy at the Ralph Lauren store in Los Angeles on Saturday afternoon (December 18).
The "Legally Blonde" beauty showed off her million dollar smile as she braved the rainy weather to take care of some last minute Christmas shopping.
The outing comes as Reese's new movie "How Do You Know" was just released in theaters - with the film landing in the fifth slot at the box office with an expected weekend take of $8.7 million.
During the course of her "How Do You Know" promotions, Miss Witherspoon spoke with USA Today about her 2006 split from ex-hubby Ryan Phillippe, saying, ?I don?t have anything to hide. I don?t feel shame or embarrassment for the things I?ve gone through. What experience have I had that millions of other women haven?t had? And men, too. There?s nothing rarefied about my experience. We?re all just people.?
The 34-year-old added of married life, ?I don?t think about the marriage thing as much. But it would be nice. I believe in it. I really do. It kind of redefines itself for you. I?m more clear, or realistic, about what it is.?

Sporting a green cardigan with a brown scarf and dark wash jeans, the ?Sweet Home Alabama? actress strolled around the store with a gal pal, picking up a few items before making her exit.
In a recent interview, Reese, who is happy in love with her boyfriend Jim Toth, dished out some dating advice.
?It's probably not a good idea to talk about your exes too much on a first date. It's also no good to have a panic attack or take off all your clothes. Better to keep you clothes on!?

She?s one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood, but Reese Witherspoon is more interested in being a mother to her kids.
The ?Sweet Home Alabama? babe gushed about her son Deacon (7) and daughter Ava (11) during a recent interview with MTV.
She began, "They're into the White Stripes right now. They're both learning to play the electric guitar, and it's kind of awesome. They're playing 'Seven Nation Army' around the house."
"That's the thing too; Having kids that grow up in L.A., the sophistication level is totally different. They are only into songwriters who write their own music, and I'm like, 'Wow, I was not that sophisticated as a child.'"
Ms. Witherspoon also recalled a recent Carrie Underwood concert where Ava pleaded with her not to be embarrassing. "She said, 'Mom I really appreciate you taking me to the concert, but will you please not embarrass me in front of Carrie Underwood by singing because she's a real singer and you're just, like, a movie singer.'"

Last night was the big LA premiere of How Do You Know (ugh on that title again), the film starring Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, Paul Rudd and Jack Nicholson. All of the stars came out for the premiere, and all looked pretty good, in my opinion. Reese wore this cute strapless Zac Posen cocktail dress that had a perfect fit. I even like that she did black with the touches of Pink at the bust and waist - it?s perfect. Her hair and makeup look good too - Reese knows how to be occasion-appropriate, and she?s got a style that works for her.
Jack Nicholson probably looked the worst out of everybody - he?s gained a great deal of weight since I last saw photos of him. I?m not saying that I still wouldn?t hit for old time?s sake, I?m just saying that I?m worried about his health. Also: I?m surprised he showed up for the premiere, I really am. It must be because James L. Brooks directed the film, and Jim and Jack and really tight. Also: the woman with him is his daughter Jennifer, and WENN identifies the kids as her children, but I think one of those boys is Jack?s (and thus, Jennifer?s half-brother).
Paul Rudd! So, so cute. I like that he?s wearing all blue.
Even Owen Wilson looks nice, albeit a bit horsey. Still: it?s good to see him looking healthy and happy.
