Kylie Jenner celebrated Mother?s Day on Sunday, like millions of moms around the country. She took photos of and with her baby, she chilled out in quarantine and she had a nice cake. The cake was, according to Kylie, made from ?olive oil,? which is apparently a thing that exists. Basically, you?re using olive oil as a replacement for butter in a cake recipe, although it?s a bit more complicated than that. Kylie?s olive oil cake looks like something that came from a specialty bakery, so either she ordered it for herself as a Mother?s Day treat, or someone sent it to her (perhaps Travis Scott, perhaps her mom, who knows).
The point is that Kylie enjoys some cake, so she cut herself a small slice from the circular cake. And when I say ?small slice,? I mean that she didn?t start at the center of the cake and pull the knife down, then cut a proportional ?slice? like one would do with a pizza. No. Kylie?s slice didn?t go to the center of the cake, and it just throws off the proportions:
I would do this if I had a cake all to myself and no one was going to watch me consume it or cut into it. Like, it?s my cake and I?ll cut how I want, and maybe Kylie didn?t feel like having a full slice. The problem was that she posted it on social media and people were calling her a psychopath for the way she cuts cake. There were OCD peeps crying about how she was stressing them out. People yelled at her online. So Kylie decided to troll all the haters and she cut a small circle off to the side on the cake. OH GOD.

In 2018, Forbes put Kylie Jenner on their ?America?s Billionaires? cover even though they said explicitly that Kylie wasn?t yet a billionaire, she was just ?on track? to becoming a billionaire because of Kylie Cosmetics. Then, about a year ago, Forbes updated their information Kylie was then officially a billionaire, and officially America?s youngest ?self-made? billionaire. They were solely taking into account the paper value of Kylie Cosmetics at the time. Well, it worked and drove the value of her company up, and just months later, she officially sold 51% of her company to Coty for $600 million. She still has a lot of control over her cosmetics company, but she doesn?t have to deal with everything day-to-day. She sold when the getting was good too I imagine many beauty companies are already taking a huge financial hit in the pandemic. Anyway, Forbes announced this week: Kylie is still the world?s youngest self-made billionaire.
Forbes just released the annual World?s Billionaires list, and Kylie Jenner remains the planet?s youngest self-made billionaire. Yes, youngest (she?s 22). Yes, self-made (despite a lot of help from her famous family, she didn?t inherit her business?she built it). And yes, billionaire (she?s worth $1 billion). Jenner first made it onto the billionaires list in March 2019, then further cemented her spot in November, when she agreed to sell 51% of her Kylie Cosmetics to beauty giant Coty Inc. for $600 million. The deal, which closed in January, values her business at about $1.2 billion. Cash from the sale and her remaining 49% share of the company make Jenner one of just 2,095 people in the world with a ten-digit fortune.
?I didn?t expect anything. I did not foresee the future,? Jenner previously told Forbes. ?But [the recognition] feels really good. That?s a nice pat on the back.?
Jenner is one of just ten billionaires in the world currently under the age of 30. Seven of the ten are heirs. Only three created their own fortune. Besides Jenner, there?s John Collison, who cofounded payments processor Stripe and is worth $3.2 billion, and Snapchat cofounder Evan Spiegel, who is worth $1.9 billion. Both are 29?seven years older than Kylie Jenner.

Are we going to repeat the same fight about whether she?s self-made? I don?t feel like fighting. I?ll just say that the criteria Forbes uses to determine who is and is not self-made is not the same criteria that we use on gossip blogs. To Forbes, ?self made? simply means that Kylie started a company from the ground up and she didn?t inherit a business, nor did she inherit a fortune. Of course, she did inherit the name and the family connections and a reality show platform and her enormous privilege and all of that. And yes, even if you don?t believe Kylie is technically worth one billion dollars, can you admit that she?s worth high nine-figures?? Jesus H.

After the idiocy of people like Vanessa Hudgens and Evangeline Lilly, I think it?s important to remember that *some* celebrities are actually doing a great job of donating to charity, raising awareness about social distancing, talking about the importance of self-isolation, and encouraging people to listen to doctors and scientists. I?m not saying people should get their news from celebrities, but some/many celebrities have been doing their best to reach their fanbases, especially when their fanbases are young people who would otherwise be catching coronavirus on a crowded beach in Florida on spring break. Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande both stepped up earlier this week to encourage their fans to stay home and take this seriously. Then, a few days ago, the Surgeon General of the United States of America went on Good Morning America and he said that he hoped Kylie Jenner would say something too:
America?s top doctor called on an unexpected hero to help save the nation from coronavirus ? Kylie Jenner. ?What I really think we need to do [is] get our influencers,? Surgeon General Jerome Adams said on ?Good Morning America,? naming the 22-year-old Kylie Jenner star as well as infected basketball stars Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell.
?We need to get Kylie Jenner and social media influencers out there, in helping folks understand that look, this is serious, this is absolutely serious. People are dying,? Adams told the ABC show. He said they were needed to get the message across because he knows from his own kids ? ages 14 and 15 ? that ?the more I tell them not to do something, the more they want to do it.?
He said the younger generation were more likely to ignore the quarantine ? and are also known to be at risk of both getting sick and spreading COVID-19 to those most vulnerable. ?We are seeing new data from Italy that suggests that young people may be at higher risk than what we previously thought. But think about your grandfather, think about your grandmother, think about the fact you?re spreading disease that could ultimately be what kills them.?

Honestly, it didn?t sound as vapid and unreasonable as I was expecting he has a point with the youths and how they?ll be more likely to do something if someone like Kylie Jenner suggests it. And what was sort of great is that Kylie Jenner heard the Surgeon General?s pleas and she did follow through! Kylie has been posting videos on her Instagram Stories all week about how she?s been self-isolating and how it?s easy for her because she just stayed at home for months during her pregnancy, so she already knows how to amuse herself. She gave the youths lots of tips for what to do while they self-isolate, including PUZZLES, taking self-care baths, watching movies, etc.

We?re getting to some of the Oscar party photos today, but just know that the bulk of the party photos will be coming tomorrow! Something to look forward to then, because celebrities really do get all dolled up for the parties, especially the Vanity Fair Oscar party. Kylie Jenner was one of the big-name celebrities (I?m not joking) at the VF party. She wore this Ralph and Russo gown which is so tight, she permanently looks like she?s trying to stifle an epic fart. She?s so uncomfortable! But anything for fashion. Jewelry is Lorraine Schwartz.
Here?s Sofia Vergara in Dolce & Gabbana. I mean, she stays with the same silhouette, same fit, same look every time. And I don?t hate it she?s old enough to know what looks good on her and it?s become part of her ?brand.? Also: people should stop wearing D&G. Those designers are horrible people.
Jessica Alba in Versace. I?m kind of surprised by how much I like this very basic ?sparkly column dress.? She looks really good though!

I never expected this, but here I am, a fan of Kylie Jenner. I know, I know. The Kardashian-Jenner family is not great. I know they all do and say problematic sh-t. But that?s why I kind of like Kylie she?s spent the past three or four years distancing herself from her family?s larger dramas. She would have been better off raised by wolves, and yet? the youngest of the KJ klan ended up the most financially successful and the most emotionally stable. Kylie doesn?t seem to want her life to be a series of soap opera storylines. Even her split from Travis Scott last year was not milked for endless headlines and reality show storylines they split up because they were young and needed some space, they never bad-mouthed each other and they co-parented Stormi with ease. And so now, it looks like they?re getting back together.
Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott are inching closer to getting back together because theyre acting like a rekindling of their relationship is imminent so say some of their close friends. Sources who were at Stormis 2nd birthday party this past weekend tell TMZ Kylie and Trav were giving off major signs of being more than just co-parents to their little one. They looked more like the romantic couple they used to be say eyewitnesses who saw them interact.
Were told the two walked in together and were pretty much inseparable the entire time as the party rolled on. Granted, they were both there for Stormi, but our sources say they appeared to be into each other. They threw off the impression theyre on the verge of a reconciliation. We should note, however, that there werent any reports of PDA between Kylie and Travis. That said, were told their friend group believes somethings happening there.
Meanwhile, theyre obviously continuing to co-parent as they have for these past several months as theyve been apart as a couple. Travis has tagged along for several different KarJenner outings, and things havent looked ugly at all in the public eye. Were told Travis has been staying at their place in Bev Hills, and Kylies shacking up in Hidden Hills even though they see each other several times a week via Stormi.
As for that crazy elaborate party for the kid it ran em about $500k, while some attractions/items were sponsored. Nothing but the best for their own, right?

Kylie spent a fortune on Stormi?s first birthday party last year too. That?s her thing, excessive birthday parties for children who will not remember it. Speaking of, Kylie has been saying for a while that she wants another kid at some point, and I wonder if that?s a factor here too. Kim Kardashian famously said once that it was important to her that all her children had the same father (seriously) and I kind of wonder if Kylie feels the same. In any case, I think Kylie is pretty mature about what she wants and expects from Travis and it wouldn?t surprise me at all if they got back together and had a similar ?just be discreet about it? arrangement as before.

I know this sounds naive, but I actually believe that Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott are on a break because they needed space to figure out some sh-t in their lives and in their relationship. Was other stuff at play? Possibly. But I think it was just about them not knowing if they should stick out a rough patch, and whether their relationship is worth saving. It?s not the sexiest breakup reason, I know. It?s certainly not as shady as ?Kylie reunites with Tyga!? Tyga is a mess and Kylie?s relationship with Tyga was always problematic, but I don?t think Tyga was ?the reason? for her split with Travis. I think Tyga is just there, forever, because he and Kylie have a dysfunctional obsession with each other. And in any case, Kylie says that she didn?t even see him a few nights ago:
The internet makes everything 100 times more dramatic than what it really is. There was no ?2am date with Tyga?. You see me drop two of my friends off at a studio that he happened to be at.
