On March 24, Chrissy Teigen ?left Twitter.? She made a big production about it, doing a tweet-thread which basically amounted to ?I?m too thin-skinned for someone so extremely online.? And then she was gone? only to reemerge as People Magazine?s Most Beautiful person cover, and of course she poured all of her drama onto Instagram. But I think it?s harder for people to really engage with each other on IG and Chrissy was having a difficult time scratching that ?pay attention to me? itch. So here we are, 23 days later. She couldn?t even make it a month.
turns out it feels TERRIBLE to silence yourself and also no longer enjoy belly chuckles randomly throughout the day and also lose like 2000 friends at once lol

Chrissy Teigen has ?left Twitter.? Again. For what feels like the millionth time. I have a few things to say! First off, she?ll be back. Maybe this time it?s more serious, but she?s shown that she needs the outlet of Twitter and she needs that immediate gratification and validation of people engaging with her and paying attention to her. Two, the internet is still a terrible place for women. It?s true that Chrissy gets bullied, that people are really fking mean to her sometimes, that she?s attacked in a way particular to many women on the internet. Three, Chrissy is incredibly thin-skinned for someone who made a name for herself by being extremely online. There are legitimate criticisms of her and she hates that. Like, I remember the reprehensible sh-t she tweeted about Quvenzhan Wallis, not to mention all of her history of punching down and starting completely random beefs, and coming across as completely tone-deaf and self-involved. So here?s what Chrissy tweeted before she deleted her account:
Chrissy Teigen is saying goodbye to Twitter. The cookbook author, 35, shared her decision to step away from the social media platform on Wednesday.
Hey. For over 10 years, you guys have been my world. I honestly owe so much to this world we have created here. I truly consider so many of you my actual friends, Teigen began a Twitter thread Wednesday evening. But its time for me to say goodbye. This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think thats the right time to call something. My life goal is to make people happy. The pain I feel when I dont is too much for me. Ive always been portrayed as the strong clap back girl but Im just not.
My desire to be liked and fear of pissing people off has made me somebody you didnt sign up for, and a different human than I started out here as! Live well, tweeters, she continued. Please know all I ever cared about was you!!!
Continuing her thread, Teigen said that she has been deeply bruised over the years and encouraged social media users to know and never forget that your words matter.
I have made my mistakes, throughout years and in front of hundreds of thousands, and been held accountable for them. Ive learned an incredible amount here, she said, adding that she has said f? up s? and killed myself over it as much as you killed me. But one thing I havent learned is how to block out the negativity. Im just a sensitive s?, okay!? I dont wanna be this way! I just am! But I love you guys and I cherish our time together, I truly do. I also hate you.
Teigen didnt say whether or not shed be discontinuing use of her other social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok, but both were still active Wednesday evening.

I think this week, there was a new wave of hate/criticism against Chrissy for her new collaboration with Kris Jenner. Theyre making eco-friendly cleaning supplies or something. And people were yelling at Chrissy for working with Kris Jenner. Which is completely weird because? working with Kris Jenner is completely on-brand for Chrissy. Anyway? it?s Chrissy?s right to step away from Twitter and I hope it lasts a while, but I bet she?ll be back within six months. My guess is that she?s going to be even more extra on Instagram now.

It?s not that everything Chrissy Teigen does and says is terrible. Every now and then, she?ll say something interesting, or start a conversation worth having. Sometimes some genuinely heartbreaking stuff happens to Chrissy and I truly feel sorry for her. But? yeah, most of the time I find her annoying. She?s so attention-seeking, so desperate to be in the middle of everything, so ?extremely online.? Yesterday, Chrissy posed this question to her Twitter followers: ?what?s the most expensive thing you?ve eaten that you thought sucked?? A simple enough question, although asked at a weird moment when people are literally lining up for hours at food banks. Chrissy contributed her own story:
one time john and I were at a restaurant and the waiter recommended a nice Cabernet. We got the bill and it was 13,000 dollars. HOW DO U CASUALLY RECOMMEND THAT WINE. we didn?t even finish it and it had been cleared!!!

Chrissy Teigen is slowly getting back on her feet after the incredible loss of her son, Jack last month. She and husband John Legend lost the baby at 20 weeks due to a partial placenta abruption. She recently wrote and made public an essay in which she detailed the events and emotions involved with her very difficult journey. In that essay, Chrissy said they are waiting to bury Jack?s ash?s until they move into their new home, where they will plant a tree specifically for Jack. That?s a lovely way to remember him. In addition, Chrissy showed off another tribute she got to memorialize Jack, a new tattoo on her wrist. On Sunday she posted these photos to Twitter:

Earlier this month, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend shared the tragic news that they?d lost their third child at 20 weeks into the pregnancy. Chrissy had been diagnosed with a partial placenta abruption and although they?d monitored her closely and performed several blood transfusions, the pregnancy was ultimately not viable, and the traumatic moment came for the family to say goodbye. Chrissy made a public announcement along with sharing some intimate photos that documented their grief. People had many strong feelings about those photos and let Chrissy and her grieving family know about them. Tuesday, Chrissy posted a deeply emotional essay documenting her experience. She described her gratitude to everyone who has reached out to her and shown her kindness. She detailed what happened in detail and why she both took and posted the photos. And she very plainly explained that she does not care what anyone else thinks about the photos or her posting them.
For weeks, our floors have been covered in flowers of kindness. Notes have flooded in and have each been read with our own teary eyes. Social media messages from strangers have consumed my days, most starting with, ?you probably won?t read this, but??. I can assure you, I did.
After a couple nights at the hospital, my doctor told me exactly what I knew was coming ? it was time to say goodbye. He just wouldn?t survive this, and if it went on any longer, I might not either. We had tried bags and bags of blood transfusions, every single one going right through me like we hadn?t done anything at all. Late one night, I was told it would be time to let go in the morning. I cried a little at first, then went into full blown convulsions of snot and tears, my breath not able to catch up with my own incredibly deep sadness. Even as I write this now, I can feel the pain all over again. Oxygen was placed over my nose and mouth, and that was the first picture you saw. Utter and complete sadness.
I had asked my mom and John to take pictures, no matter how uncomfortable it was. I explained to a very hesitant John that I needed them, and that I did NOT want to have to ever ask. That he just had to do it. He hated it. I could tell. It didn?t make sense to him at the time. But I knew I needed to know of this moment forever, the same way I needed to remember us kissing at the end of the aisle, the same way I needed to remember our tears of joy after Luna and Miles. And I absolutely knew I needed to share this story.
I cannot express how little I care that you hate the photos. How little I care that it?s something you wouldn?t have done. I lived it, I chose to do it, and more than anything, these photos aren?t for anyone but the people who have lived this or are curious enough to wonder what something like this is like. These photos are only for the people who need them. The thoughts of others do not matter to me.

Most of the time, I think other people?s opinions do matter to Chrissy. However, I do think she is speaking her truth here, those photos were a part of her grieving process that she doesn?t even fully understand yet. Later in her essay, Chrissy speaks about some of the moments of kindness she?s been shown: a checkout lady putting flowers in her cart and people pressing notes in her hand. Chrissy expressed sadness for all the women going through similar situation who will never know the support she is. On their behalf, Chrissy asked, ?I beg you to please share your stories and to please be kind to those pouring their hearts out. Be kind in general, as some won?t pour them out at all.?
I think Chrissy?s essay speaks to grieving in a larger sense. There isn?t a right or wrong way for a person to grieve, but people will constantly try to make us feel as though there is. What they are really saying is, ?you are not grieving the way I would in this situation.? I was truly moved by Chrissy?s photos when I saw them, even though I did not understand taking them, because I don?t think I would. But I read so many of your comments behind having grief photos and it became very clear how they serve in the process. It doesn?t have to be my process; it just has to help the person suffering. Chrissy reached many, many people by putting her loss out there like this. She paid a huge price for doing so at an incredibly vulnerable time. I think she knew she would, too. I?m grateful that ultimately, she knows she reached those she wanted to, and I hope that helps her move further in healing.

Honestly, when Chrissy Teigen announced her pregnancy in her husband?s music video for ?Wild? my very first thought was ?wait, didn?t she *just* have surgery to take her breast implants taken out?? The timeline was so weird and everybody clearly had their own theories about what did and did not happen and when Chrissy got pregnant and how far along she is now. For the record, it does seem like my timeline was right she was pregnant for the boob surgery in mid-June, and I suspect that she got pregnant soon after her massive controversy with Alison Roman in May. Meaning, I think Chrissy is about 10-12 weeks pregnant right now. While she?s always maintained that she had fertility issues her two previous pregnancies were IVF she got pregnant naturally this time. And she got a false negative on the pregnancy test she took just before her surgery. From Chrissy?s Twitter (where else?):
Oh, its quite a story. Lol. I did the routine pregnancy test you do before surgery. It said negative. It was not negative. A few weeks after surgery, I took a test. And for many years now, Ive taken pregnancy tests almost every month, praying to see a positive one day. Just wishful thinking. I never had a positive before. So the morning of Johns album release, he wakes up at 3am to do good morning america. I woke up with him and was like man, should take my monthly test to be disappointed.I was not disappointed. But I was scared sh-tless. Was pretty positive you shouldnt get your boobs out while pregnant? Pretty sure.
So we prayed to the boob surgery gods that everything would be okay. Went to every appointment terrified. Even without the surgery, I didnt think I could get pregnant naturally anyway. So the odds just feltbad. But what they say so often can be true. When you give up on trying, life has a way of surprising you. In summary, my boobs hurt.

So that answers that. At 34, after two successful pregnancies from IVF, she was able to conceive naturally only this time, whoops, she had boob surgery when she was several weeks pregnant. I?m honestly a little bit surprised I mean, not really that she announced so fast, given the uncertainty and given how (not that) far along she is. But this is Chrissy, of course she announced it fast. Not only that, she stepped out for a paparazzi photoshoot in LA to show off her bump in a unitard. Lord help us all.

We learned this week that Alison Roman had been suspended temporarily from her New York Times column, which appeared biweekly in the Food section. Roman really has no one to blame but herself for that she decided, seemingly out of nowhere, to do some kind of racist hipster gatekeeping on two women of color in an interview. While Marie Kondo didn?t say anything, Chrissy Teigen dove headfirst into the controversy, and we spent days covering the back and forth between Roman and Teigen. Roman eventually released an authentic-sounding apology, but only after she screwed up three other public apologies. It was the kind of melodrama Chrissy Teigen lives for, and as she was playing up her hurt feelings, people chimed in to remind Chrissy of all of the terrible sh-t she?s said and never apologized for. Anyway, now Chrissy is inserting herself into Roman?s NYT suspension, because of course she is!
Chrissy Teigen is speaking out after news surfaced that Alison Romans New York Times food column has been placed on a hiatus weeks after she sparked drama with the Cravings author. After an interview with The New Consumer earlier this month, Roman got into hot water when she criticized Teigens cooking website for being what she perceived as a content farm and claimed that Marie Kondo, 35, had sold out.
Now, Romans biweekly food column is on temporary leave, a New York Times spokesperson told The Daily Beast on Tuesday. However, the outlet did not cite specific reasons for their decision to pause her work. Times insiders told The Daily Beast that Roman had a piece scheduled to run during her controversy with Teigen but it was ultimately not published.
Following news of Romans leave, Teigen has responded to several comments on social media about her current standing with Roman and her thoughts on her temporary hiatus. Teigen responded to a post praising Romans shallot pasta recipe, to which Teigen agreed is a very good recipe!!
Asked if her approval of Romans food meant the beef [was] squashed, Teigen admitted that she was not pleased to hear the news about Romans column. I hope we can laugh about it one day but Im not happy with the NYT leave so she def cant laugh about it yet. It just sucks in every way, she wrote Thursday.
Teigen also responded to a tweet from New York Times opinion writer and editor Bari Weiss, who wrote that all Roman had to do to be cancelled was to criticize a celebrity.
I dont like this one bit, Teigen replied. Im doing what I can (off Twitter) to make that known.
Teigen shared similar sentiments on Wednesday, responding to one user that she very publicly forgave [Roman] and am getting very much blamed for her leave.

First of all, Bari Weiss is the exact kind of Alison Roman-but-political wannabe who would kill for the kind of controversy Chrissy and Alison had last week. Of course Bari Weiss thinks that Roman?s biggest offense is that she criticized a celebrity. Not the racist subtext or the gatekeeping or all of the stolen and anglicized ?ethnic? recipes. As for Teigen? of course she?s found a way to continue to center herself at the heart of the story. Don?t you know that she?s ?very much blamed? for Roman?s suspension?? It must be true, because it was on the internet and that?s where Chrissy lives. Yeah. Again, separate the Teigen and Roman stories Roman got herself suspended through her own actions and words. Much like Teigen hurts her own brand by continuing to endlessly talk sh-t and center herself in every narrative.
