Multi-hyphenate (actress-singer-dancer) and very busy lady Jennifer Lopez is returning to film for a somewhat unexpected role. She is set to play Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco, known as the “Cocaine Godmother,” in an untitled project currently in development at HBO. Jennifer is also serving as executive producer for the film under her Nuyorican Productions banner. She announced the project on her Twitter feed on Wednesday, retweeting an article announcing the project and adding, “Here we gooo…”

I feel like this story is probably going to heat up this afternoon, so we?ll be updating if there are breaking developments. Amber Heard?s deposition was rescheduled for today, Friday, at 10 am PST. Amber was supposed to be deposed last weekend, and she did show up for the depo? almost two hours late. Then she reportedly cried and carried on and refused to sit for the depo for hours and hours. Allegedly. So everything was pushed back, and Amber was supposed to be deposed today, ahead of Johnny Depp and Amber?s new court appearance on August 17th. This whole time, the lawyers have been negotiating a settlement too, although they haven?t agreed on anything yet.
Well, Amber is reportedly not even going to make it to her deposition today in LA. She?s still in London, working. As TMZ notes: ?The consequences could be severe. Johnny Depp’s lawyers have already asked the judge to prohibit her from testifying in next week’s trial because she refused to go in the depo room last weekend and testify.? But then TMZ reported this:
Amber Heard had “an emergency” and that’s why she’s going to miss her 10 AM call for a deposition in L.A. … TMZ has learned. According to legal docs, an unspecified emergency arose and “to no fault of her own, Amber was unable to arrange for a flight to travel from London.”
Amber’s lawyers, Samantha Spector and Joseph Koenig, go after Johnny Depp’s lawyers with a vengeance, saying, “Johnny’s counsel continues to wage a malicious war against Amber in the Court of Public Opinion in an effort to intimidate and discourage Amber from telling the truth.”
Amber’s lawyers suggest Johnny will never address the allegations of domestic violence under oath and then says, “It is a disturbing shame that Johnny’s lawyers continue to pursue a relentless personal attack against Amber.”
Spector will ask a judge to push Amber’s depo to Saturday. And there’s this. Amber’s lawyers attached a letter to the filing in which she accuses Johnny’s lawyer of reneging on a settlement agreement. The letter is dated Thursday, August 11th. Johnny’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, responds in a separate letter that the offer was sent to Johnny for his approval.

I don?t know what to tell you. I tend to think that while Amber might be scattered and emotional right now, her lawyers know what they?re doing and she?s taking their advice. I do feel like there?s some sort of legal gamesmanship happening here, but I could be wrong. We?ll update if something else breaks.
