Actress Lily Collins is the cover model for the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar Australia. The 26-year-old, whom you may remember from her roles as Sandra Bullock’s daughter in The Blind Side and Snow White Mirror Mirror (a/k/a the “other” Snow White movie), looks otherworldly in a netted, ruffled and sequined dress by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel. The whole outfit looks a little stuck in the 80s for my tastes (it could be the fingerless gloves too), but I love the makeup and slick hairdo.
The 26-year-old is the daughter of rock god Phil Collins (whom you might remember from Genesis if you’re like me, or from that song Mike Tyson air drummed to in The Hangover if you’re a young’un) and American model Jill Tavelman. Lily told the magazine that her model mom is the reason she’s such a fashionista, claiming, “It’s funny because I also have fashion in my blood.” She goes on to say, “My mother’s family owned a shop called Tavelman’s on Wilshire Boulevard. They designed suits and clothing for so many actors her in town, starting in the 1930s. My mom would help out in the store when she was little. So it’s nice to share these passions with my family.”
Lily loves to talk fashion, but tries to keep mum about her love life – which is hard to do when you’re romantically linked to Nick Jonas. But Nick isn’t saying much either. When grilled about the relationship on the red carpet at a pre-Super Bowl party this past Friday, Nick kept his comments short. A reporter for Entertainment Tonight asked the 23-year-old singer if he could comment on the relationship to which Nick simply replied, “I can’t at all. At all.” Nick might have pleaded the fifth as he’s been recently seen with 36-year-old Kate Hudson. It’s always the quiet ones, isn’t it?
Nick’s romantic life is starting to resemble an old Three’s Company episode where Jack ends up with two dates scheduled for the same night. There are definitely some levels to his love (see what I did there?) You do have to give it to Nick though, as he’s already covered his bases for Valentine’s Day. He told E! News why he wasn’t celebrating the special day, telling the reporter, “It’s right before the Grammys, so there’s a lot of stuff happening in L.A., so I’ve gotta concentrate.” How convenient, huh?

Showing some love for her Japanese fans, Lily Collins arrived at the Tokyo premiere of her new film ?Love, Rose? on Wednesday (December 3).
The ?Mortal Instruments: City of Bones? starlet wowed the crowd in her sassy strapless orange gown as she scurried inside the screening with a big smile.
In her recent interview with Vogue Australia, Lily explained her current fashion tastes- ?I'm 25 right now and I've just entered into this very experimental stage whether it be with my makeup, hair, wardrobe and I'm experimenting with my personality and what works for me.?
?I've always been a huge admirer and lover of Alexander McQueen, Alexander Wang. I love so many British designers like Stella McCartney.?

| Lily Collins on nepotism: 'Everybody in LA is a daughter of someone' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Lily Collins covers the October issue of Marie Claire UK to promote Love, Rosie. I guess she’s trying to be a romcom queen after Mortal Instruments didn’t perform well. She’s cute, and she has a fetching English accent. As does Sam Claflin, her co-star. Suki Waterhouse makes her film debut in this movie. Suki plays the girl that comes between two friends who secretly love each other. Typical 20-something romcom.
I like what’s going on in this shoot. Lily has a new bob, and Marie Claire styled it to look slightly punky. She talks a lot about media perception and how her career is exploding (it’s not). She admits losing out on Gossip Girl and being upset about it. Lily still doesn’t believe nepotism had a hand in jump starting her film roles. I don’t blame her for feeling that way. We’d all be defensive on the subject in her position. Imagine going on a press tour and having everyone ask about “Sussudio.” Journos keep asking over and over again. Lily answers differently this time:
KStew & JLaw’s media reps: “It’s definitely not normal. There are preconceived ideas about them and the media wants to prove them wrong or find fault in them. They feel that, because they’ve known them since they were young, there is an ownership of their personal life. Jennifer and Kristen have done such a great job of navigating that; they’re witty, strong, funny, cool, young women. It’s really just nice to see that it’s possible to go through something like that and still be genuinely awesome people.”
Talking out against nepotism: “When I first met with agents I was asked, ‘Well, what makes you so special? Everybody in LA is a cousin or a daughter of someone.’ At the beginning, that was the most interesting thing about me. Now I’ve done eight films, it’s an afterthought. I get kids who say, ‘Oh, I love your movie, but my mum loves your dad.’ It’s really nice to be able to share that with him, but it doesn’t define who I am career-wise.”
The one that got away: “I tested for Gossip Girl. I wanted to be in it so badly, I thought at the time it was the end of the world. But now I think, ‘well I would have got pigeon-holed, have had to move to New York, leave high school and be signed away for six years. I wouldn’t have done the films I’ve done, and everything would have been so different.”
She didn’t know her dad was famous: “We’d be at dinner and people would come up for autographs and I thought, ‘Why do they want Dad’s?’ I remember one day I asked him the stupidest question: I’m like, ‘Did you ever do a music video?’. I had no idea.”
She’s single: “I’m working and enjoying finding out who I want to be. You can never rely fully on someone else to complete you. I think making somebody else your everything is adding way too much pressure; needing somebody to feel complete is a dangerous thing.”
[From Marie Claire UK]
Lily is perfectly civil in this interview. She’s probably had some media training after stories of a bratty ego circulated. She did seem a bit “above it all” on her last media tour, but she seems more grounded now.
Here’s the Love, Rosie trailer. Lily and Sam Claflin get to whip out their English accents. It looks like a clichd romcom.

She?s always up for a pampering session and Lily Collins treated her tresses to a refreshing trim at the Andy LeCompte Hair Salon on Thursday (July 3).
The ?Abduction? actress was in good spirits as she exited the popular West Hollywood beauty shop, sporting a knee-length floral skirt teamed with a white cropped tank and nude heels.
Perhaps Lily?s positive vibe is the result of her newfound affection for Ashley Hamilton, the son of acting legend George Hamilton.
Collins and Hamilton met on the set of their new untitled Warren Beatty film and last week they enjoyed a three-hour dinner at a Laurel Canyon Italian restaurant.
