Taking a break from his usual duties, Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataky headed over to the Beverly Hilton for the 71st Golden Globes earlier tonight (January 12).
The ?Thor: The Dark World? stud flashed a handsome smile to the shutterbugs as he meandered his way inside to catch all the star-studded action, strutting alongside his lovely expectant wife.
With the dynamic duo of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey hosting the evening?s festivities, there?s no telling what will transpire before the final curtain.
NBC honcho Paul Telegdy gushed, ?Tina and Amy are two of the most talented comedic writer/performers in our business, and they were a major reason the Golden Globes was the most entertaining awards show of last season. We?re elated they wanted to host together again and that they committed for the next two years.?

California isn?t feeling the polar vortex, correct? I mean, I?m sure they?re a balmy 60 degrees or something, which is ?freezing? for California. But how do you explain Elsa Pataky?s clothes in these photos? Why is she wearing so many layers? These are pics of Elsa, Chris Hemsworth, India Rose and some assorted family members out to lunch yesterday in Venice Beach. Elsa is wearing leggings, socks, boots, a dress/tunic, a mullet coat, and I?m guessing she?s probably wearing a bra and a tank underneath the tunic too. Too many clothes! Then look at Chris ? he?s just bumming around in dad shorts, a tee and a flannel. Hippies.
Anyway, I just thought you?d like to see these new photos of the happy family. Elsa had toned down the happy family photo-ops for a while. There were no family shots while Chris was promoting Thor 2: The Dark Loki, and I think there were only a handful of candids when he promoted Rush. Things picked up a bit when Elsa and India came with Chris when he was filming In the Heart of the Sea, but the photo-ops were definitely taken down a notch. I guess they?ll pick up now that they?re back in LA and Chris isn?t currently working.
I should also say that I still believe that something funky happened with Chris and Elsa last year. He was working on Cyber for months, and that?s the time when Elsa went dark. I think it?s possible they were having marriage problems around then, and then when they reconciled or whatever, that?s when Elsa got knocked up.
PS? Many of you were hating on Elsa?s studded boots earlier this week. I don?t know, you guys. I kind of like them! I bet they?re comfortable and durable. And she?s super-preggo too, I bet she doesn?t want to wear heels or whatever.

I think you guys need to make a new nickname for Elsa Pataky. She?s changed, y?all. These are some new pics of Elsa out and about in Santa Monica over the weekend. She was shopping with a friend (who looks like a grown-up Lorde). Elsa is BIG. She?s super-pregnant. She?s well into her third trimester by the look of it. Which brings me back to my original point: she is no longer a ?Remora? clinging to whatever secondary fame she can get from Chris Hemsworth. Elsa is playing a different game these days. She?s managed to breeze along to her third trimester with very few photo-ops or red carpet appearances. We?ve barely seen her out with Chris or India Rose the past four or five months. She?s gone quiet. She?s showing us that she?s capable of going quiet.
So if people can?t slam her for clinging to Chris and trying to become a star in his wake, what will people say? I have no idea. I like her more now that I don?t see her every week in photo-ops. I also think she?s a beautiful pregnant woman. She?s just glowing and she?s so pretty. I love that sweater so much too.
I think Chris has finished filming In The Heart of the Sea, so I guess he and Elsa are back home in California and they?ll probably welcome their baby in LA. Didn?t she give birth to India in England? Yes, Elsa scheduled the birth around Chris?s promotional tour for The Avengers. So this baby will be an American ? that?s nice. And Chris recently said that he was planning on taking some time off: ?I’ve been working solidly for a couple of years now, to the point where I have to slow down and spend some time with my family.” Also nice. I hope he does take off some time and he and Elsa just focus on their kids. And then he’ll probably go back to work on The Avengers: Age of Ultron? I think that’s his next project.

On Monday, I wrote about some weekend photos of Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth in the Canary Islands. Chris is there to film his sad boat movie, The Heart of the Sea, and Elsa is there just because. It had been a while since we?d seen Elsa ? she was nowhere to be seen during The Largely Absent Hemsworth?s promotional tour for Thor 2: The Largely Present Hiddleston. Usually, Elsa can?t get enough of red carpets. Usually, she would ?help out? her husband by getting pap?d with baby India out in Venice Beach. But not so much for Thor 2.
Which led me to theorize months ago that Elsa was/is pregnant. She looked pregnant-ish back in September, at the Toronto Film Festival, and a quiet pregnancy would have gone a long way to explaining why Elsa and Chris were acting so weird this fall. (Sidenote: I had another theory involving Chris maybe fooling around, but that?s a theory for another time.) Anyway, long story short, I didn?t really think Elsa looked pregnant in the photos from the weekend. Everyone yelled at me and said that OF COURSE she looked pregnant. So do I have to eat it?
Well, Hola! (Hello! Mag in Spain) says that Elsa is pregnant. I don?t think they have a confirmation from anyone in the family, it just seems like they did what I did ? looked at the photos and made an assumption, only they came to a different conclusion. Hello UK has a story too, and they make it sound like Hola doesn?t have a hard confirmation either. So? is she pregnant? Eh. I?m including more photos from the weekend, and there are some shots where she does look bumpier. So maybe.

He?s dominating the box office thanks to his successful sequel ?Thor: The Dark World,? and now Chris Hemsworth's life is about to get even more rewarding.
According to Us Weekly, ?The Avengers? hottie is expecting his second child with wife Elsa Pataky.
The 30-year-old and Elsa wed in March 2010 and welcomed their first daughter India Rose 18 months ago.
Elsa opened up about her first baby girls during promotions for ?Fast & Furious 6? in June and said, ?You become more sensitive about a lot of things. With things like this, the ocean, you want to protect it for your kid to be able to see the world the way I saw it. That's important for them to not lose it. There are so many animals endangered now in the ocean; it'll be sad she won't enjoy all those things."
Congrats to the happy couple!

Ron Howard?s Rush was released in only five theaters this past weekend, and it averaged $40,000 per screen, which is really good news. That means that the buzz is growing for Rush and that Chris Hemsworth can carry a film which doesn?t feature Fabio hair and a giant hammer. Rush will get its wide release this weekend, and my guess is that it will probably be #1 at the box office one week from now. So, do we give Chris credit for having the acting chops? I?ve said this in many Tom Hiddleton/Loki posts ? Tom may have the fan-girls (and fan-boys), but Chris is the one with Hollywood backing him. Hollywood thinks Chris is the Next Big Thing. Chris is booking back-to-back film roles and more often than not, he?s carrying the films.
But should we give Chris?s wife Elsa Pataky some credit too? I think we should. I think Elsa sees herself as powerful Hollywood wife, and it?s her job to support her husband?s career with well-timed family-friendly photo-ops and lovely-dovey red carpet appearances. Us Weekly had a little hint into Elsa?s strategy:
On the press tour for Chris Hemsworth?s movie Rush, Elsa Pataky was never far behind.
?Supportive wife is the role she most wants to play,? says a source of the actress, 37.
It pays in dividends: in Rome, Hemsworth ?opened doors and held her hand,? says a witness. ?What a gentleman.?

This makes sense to me. Elsa may want to work as an actress, but she?s realistic about it. She knows she?s never going to be a movie star in her own right, but she can be one half of a power-couple. It?s the Jennifer Garner/Rita Wilson/Kate Capshaw School of Hollywood Power. And my guess is that Elsa is totally going to get pregnant again and soon, if she?s not already knocked up.

Here are some photos of Elsa Pataky at the 2013 Yo Dona International Awards in Madrid, Spain yesterday. Chris Hemsworth was not there, at least he?s not in any of these photos and I suspect he?s currently working in LA. I don?t have the designer ID on this dress? but I do sort of like it. I mean, it?s a good choice for her, it looks good on her (really nice, athletic) body and it?s flattering. Is the see-through gauzy quality of the material kind of tacky? Sure. Is she just some gold thread away from showing the world EVERYTHING? Yep. But it works.
I actually forget that Elsa is Spanish. My first associations with her were from her relationships with Adrian Brody (RIP, Brody?s Castle) and Olivier Martinez, which means that I always think of her as more American/Canadian/French rather than Spanish. But she is Spanish, and coming to this Madrid awards show was some kind of homecoming for her. Hilariously, it looks like she won an award too. Was it for her Oscar-worthy work in the Fast & Furious franchise? Or was it for marrying Chris Hemsworth?
As for Chris? he?s confirmed for The Avengers 2, and Robert Downey Jr. just signed on for two Avengers sequels yesterday as well. Which means that Chris?s career is still going like gangbusters and they?ll be making Thor movies and Avengers movies for years to come. In fact, Chris?s superhero scheduling is so jam-packed that he?s turning down other projects because of scheduling. RDJ is getting a reported $50 million for two more Avengers movies. I wonder how much Chris is getting? I wonder if Elsa realized what a good bet she made when she married him?

Showing some love to her Spanish fans, Elsa Pataky arrived on a flight in her homeland of Madrid earlier today (June 20).
The ?Fast & Furious 6? stunner attracted plenty of attention in her striped top as she made her way through the terminal with a few friends.
In a recent interview at an environmental charity event, Elsa opened up about what it?s like transitioning into motherhood, especially given that both she and her husband Chris Hemsworth are famous actors.
"Every mom knows that being a mom is difficult. You become more sensitive about a lot of things. With things like this, the ocean, you want to protect it for your kid to be able to see the world the way I saw it. That's important for them to not lose it. There are so many animals endangered now in the ocean; it'll be sad she won't enjoy all those things."

Has anyone else noticed that Elsa Pataky has taken it down a notch since Fast & Furious 6 was released? She?s still getting pap?d and Chris Hemsworth gets pap?d every now and then, but it?s not the steady barrage of candid photos that we were getting a month ago. That?s interesting (to me). I actually kind of miss seeing Chris Hemsworth?s crazy arms carrying his baby girl like she?s light as a feather. So in case you miss Elsa and her whole ?deal,? she made sure to give an interview to Us Weekly about? endangered animals. And India Rose. And motherhood. Because The Jennifer Garner Model is nothing to be scoffed at.
Elsa Pataky made a rare public appearance when she decided to attend the Oceana Beach House Party to celebrate World Oceans Day in Santa Monica, Calif., on Saturday, June 8. Thirteen months after giving birth to daughter India (with Chris Hemsworth, her husband of two years), the Fast & Furious 6 actress admitted she doesn’t often leave home without her famous family.
“Every mom knows that being a mom is difficult,” the Spanish star told Us Weekly. “This was really convenient because we live really close.” Pataky added that her hubby, 29, was taking care of India so she could attend the event and support a cause that’s near and dear to her heart.
In fact, becoming a mother amplified Pataky’s passion for preserving the earth. “You become more sensitive about a lot of things. With things like this, the ocean, you want to protect it for your kid to be able to see the world the way I saw it. That’s important for them to not lose it,” she explained. “There are so many animals endangered now in the ocean; it’ll be sad she won’t enjoy all those things.”
Like Hemsworth (an avid surfer who hails from Australia), India is happiest near the water. “She loves being at the beach,” Pataky, 36, told Us. “And she loves little dogs and all animals. I like having her around nature.”
Pataky can’t believe how quickly her mini-me is growing up. “She’s almost walking, and she says, ‘mama’ and ‘papa,” she revealed. When asked if she’s ready to give India a younger sibling, Pataky smiled and replied, “We’ll see!”

Would you mind if she and Chris had another baby? I wouldn?t. But that?s because Chris doesn?t even make my Top 20 Forever Dongs. Sure, I like his arms and everything, but I don?t have strong feelings about Chris and Elsa together. Surely Chris realizes that ?devoted family man? is a great image for a guy breaking out in Hollywood in a big way? I think Chris knows Elsa?s worth.
