Known for her kind-heartedness when it comes to helping others, Mandy Moore has been busy pitching in on the fight against malaria in Africa as of late.
On Friday (October 1), the "A Walk to Remember" actress teamed up with United Nations Foundation's Nothing But Nets campaign as she handed out higher quality mosquito nets in the capital city of Bangui.
Of the effort, Miss Moore told local press, "It was an honor to join this trip to help prevent malaria, which continues to kill nearly one million people every year. This week I've met mothers who have lost children to malaria and worry daily about losing others. It is life-changing to be able to give them nets to protect their babies from malaria-carrying mosquitoes while they sleep."
The 26-year-old added, "We're on our way to reaching our goal of delivering a net to every family in CAR by the end of the year. Over the next week the partnership will deliver over 400,000 nets, nearly half the amount it will take to fill the gap. It takes just $10 to help - I hope more people will join us to make sure these families can sleep safely under an anti-malaria net. Together, we can cover the country."

Getting to work on her brand new project, Mandy Moore was spotted participating in a brain-storming session for "Tangled" in Burbank, CA on Sunday (September 12).
Joining co-star Zachary Levi, along with a few other cast members, the group took seats while animatedly running through ideas for the upcoming Princess Rapunzel based film.
Recently talking with MTV News about the movie, Mandy dished on how Rapunzel differs from the typical femme-fatale characters, saying, "She's not the typical femme fatale or the typical Disney princess even, because: A) She doesn't know she's a princess. I think she sort of has this inkling that something isn't quite right in her life, [but] she's just really sort of motivated to find out what else is out there beyond this crazy tower she's lived in for 18 years. Having said that, she's very independent, she can take care of herself, and she's definitely come up with really entertaining ways to keep herself busy."
Then asked whether the Disney take on Rapunzel is the same as the original fairy tale, Miss Moore answered, "Pretty much. She has an overprotective mother who tells her she's not missing out on anything, and it's a big bad world out there and it's too scary and dangerous and she'll be eaten alive, literally, if she decides to venture out into the world."

Stepping out to give her look an update, Mandy Moore was spotted before and after visiting a salon in Beverly Hills, California on Tuesday (July 20).
The ?Only Hope? gal cruised around in her new Toyota Prius and stopped in at Beverly Hills Juice to grab up a frozen beverage before heading to Bungalow salon.
Awhile later, Ms Moore emerged with a lighter shade of strawberry blonde locks that were carefully blow-dried and curled.
Meanwhile, Mandy recently told Billboard Brasil magazine that she has been writing songs with hubby Ryan Adams and that she plans to release her upcoming album later this year which will be a bit more folk compared to her past albums.

Plugging away at an upcoming film together, Mandy Moore and Jessica Szohr were spotted on set in the Garden District of New Orleans on Thursday (May 20).
The ?License to Wed? babe and the ?Gossip Girl? actress were hard at work in almost 100 degree weather, attempting to cool off with hand-held fans.
The lovely ladies are currently filming for a movie called ?Love, Wedding, Marriage? and involves a happy newlywed marriage counselor's views on wedded bliss that get thrown for a loop when she finds out her parents are getting divorced, according to IMDB.
Other big names in the film include: Kellan Lutz and Jane Seymour.

We haven?t seen her out in awhile, but the paparazzi finally caught up with Mandy Moore along with Ryan Adams on Friday (May 14).
The ?Only Hope? singer and her musician hubby walked along arm-in-arm and shared a cup of peanuts while in New Orleans.
As previously reported, Ms Moore will appear on the season finale of ABC?s ?Grey?s Anatomy? coming up on Thursday (May 20).
In two-hour episode, word has it that Seattle Grace Hospital is hit with a crisis like other in its history and Mandy will play a patient named Mary, who gets treated by Chandra Wilson?s character, Dr Bailey.

While the show's still reeling from the loss of Katherine Heigl, ?Grey?s Anatomy? has announced the addition of Mandy Moore as a guest star in the upcoming season finale.
The two-hour Seattle Grace season ender will be airing on May 20, with Miss Moore to play the character of a patient named Mary.
While it's know that Mandy's character will be treated by Chandra Wilson?s Bailey and her team, the rest of the details are being kept under wraps.
Getting busier and busier as of late, Moore also recently signed on to star alongside "Twilight" actor Kellan Lutz in the Dermot Mulroney directed film, "Love, Wedding, Marriage."

Trying to make the world a better place, Mandy Moore was busy making a visit to Capitol Hill in Washington, DC on Monday (March 23).
There to take part in the 2010 World Water Day coalition happenings, the "Only Hope" singer dropped by the Russell Senate Office Building before attending a rally with students from the Upper Senate Park.
Talking about the importance of clean water, Mandy told press, "Last year, my eyes were opened to the problems caused by a lack of safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene."
Referring to her trip to Southern Sudan last May, Miss Moore continued, "Here on Capitol Hill, it's hard for us to imagine what it's like to face illness every time we're thirsty but it's a reality in Southern Sudan. It is an overwhelmingly tragic situation but the good news is we can do something about it."

Stepping out for a television appearance, Mandy Moore was spotted leaving CW Studios in Midtown Manhattan this morning (January 13).
The “All Good Things” songstress looked a bit camera-shy as she made her way through a crowd of fans and paparazzi, sporting a black coat/black dress combo with a green scarf.
Mandy gave an interview on the Pix Morning Show during which she discussed cervical health and her partnership with the Gynecologic Cancer Foundation.
She explained, “There’s a lot I didn’t know about cervical cancer and how to protect my cervical health, which inspired me to take action and rally other young women to join the cause. As young women, we should feel empowered to take care of our cervical health. Women shouldn’t have to suffer from cervical cancer when there are things we can do to prevent this disease.”

They’re no stranger to high-profile fundraisers, and this evening (December 10) Mandy Moore and Christina Ricci were spotted at the 3rd Annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Dubai event.
The “All Good Things” songstress and the “Buffalo 66” actress looked amazing as they posed for the paparazzi outside The Gate as part of the 6th Annual Dubai International Film Festival in the United Arab Emirates.
And it sounds .like it was quite an evening, as Mandy took the stage to deliver a special performance, while stars like Princess Haya Al Hussein and Matt Dillon hobnobbed with guests.
The amfAR Cinema Against AIDS event also featured dinner, entertainment, and a celebrity-filled live auction with all proceeds going directly to amfAR’s HIV/AIDS programs.
