While it?s always sad when a marriage comes to an end, I?ve been somewhat amused with the celebrity-media coverage of Robin Thicke and Paula Patton?s split thus far. It?s like people are going through the motions of ?this is so sad, no one was expecting it,? when really, everyone was expecting it and many of us believe that Robin had a wandering dong (or simply a wandering groping hand). Many of us also believe that Paula just got to the point where staying with Robin was getting embarrassing. So here?s TMZ?s confirmation of that:
Robin Thicke threw a Hail Mary last Friday to try to save his marriage … cancelling his Atlanta concert and flying to Canada to plead with his wife … TMZ has learned.
Sources connected with the couple tell us … Paula Patton told Robin Friday she wanted to end the marriage. Robin then abruptly cancelled his show, saying he had throat problems. But the cancellation was solely so he could sit with his wife and try to change her mind.
We’re told Paula — who is shooting a movie in Vancouver — and Robin had a long, face-to-face talk … both acknowledging they had not been getting along and frequently arguing.
Our sources say in the end Robin realized Paula was determined to end the marriage and reluctantly agreed, but was very upset. We’re told she was also upset.
The next day Robin cancelled his Orlando concert so he could be with their child.

I think it?s nice that Robin was the one to fly to Paula and try to talk her into staying with him. I mean, that?s nice for Paula, that at least her husband wanted to try to make it work in the end. It?s a much better situation than, say, Robin sending her a note saying, ?Got it. Smell ya later!? and partying with club girls that night.
E! News has a summary of Paula and Robin?s ?rocky year? and what?s interesting is just how many times Paula saved face even when there was mounting evidence that all was not well in their marriage.
Robin just canceled his show tonight in North Carolina too. I wonder? is Robin going to play this like ?she left me, I?m so devastated?? That will be interesting.

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton have separated. Are you surprised? I am not surprised that they?re over, but I?m slightly surprised that they haven?t spent more time forcing the ?happy marriage? storyline in the press. I guess it was difficult to keep up the faade when Robin continuously groped and flirted his way through nightclubs in NYC, Miami, Paris and London. Here?s their official announcement:
Paula Patton and Robin Thicke are ending their longtime marriage.
“We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,” the singer and the actress told PEOPLE on Monday in an exclusive statement.
The pair, who first met when Thicke was 14, have been married since 2005 and welcomed son Julian Fuego in April 2010.
Thicke, 36, long had been very expressive about his marriage to Patton, 38, saying last fall, “We’re pretty sure we’ve loved each other for a few lives.”

Wow, Julian Fuego isn?t even four years old. So, do you think either Paula or Robin will take a hit publicly because of this separation? I don?t know. Robin will continue to do his ?aging lounge singer? shtick and he?ll probably be spending some time at the Playboy Mansion (or whatever the current equivalent is ? 1Oak?). Paula will continue to work as an actress and she?ll probably continue to be an utter fashion disaster. Oh, you know that?s coming ? she?ll get a ?breakup wardrobe? and it will be even tackier and more breast-suffocating than her married-lady clothes.
Oh, and sources tell Us Weekly: “It has been a long time coming… It is not a shock to Robin or Paula, and it is something they have discussed for a long time.” Dur. Yeah, we knew that.

Paula Patton and Robin Thicke are going their separate ways. The two, who first met when Thicke was 14 and Patton was 17 or 18, married in 2005 and had a son in 2010.
“We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,” the couple tell PEOPLE on Monday in an exclusive statement.
This comes as a shock to no one considering Robin Thicke’s sudden surge in popularity and those stories of Thicke playing grabass with random blondes. Contrary to popular belief, girlfriends don’t like it when you do that.

I had a friend who, right out of college, decorated her apartment in full-on Ikea. She bought a zebra-striped rug which looked exactly like this mess than Paula Patton wore last night to the Grammys. Right? She wore a budget, cheap zebra-striped rug-dress. It?s by Nicolas Jebran and I just can?t even start with her style. It would be one thing if Paula just liked to dress cheap. It would be one thing if Paula just liked to dress to show off her body in the tackiest way possible. It would be one thing if Paula didn?t understand how to get her red carpet gowns tailored appropriately for her body. But she puts all of those awful elements together, and we get this, over and over on the red carpet. Tacky meets try-hard meets LET YOUR BOOBS BREATHE, GIRL. One nice thing: I like her earrings.
As for Robin Thicke? I was happy that the Grammy producers didn?t let Robin just do a version of ?Blurred Lines? by himself, that they put him with Chicago for a tribute. The problem? Chicago still sounds really good (right?) and you could hear that Robin?s voice is rather weak.
Speaking of shady couples (cough), here are Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz. Alicia wore Armani Prive. Is this tacky? I find it tacky. I loved her voice and she has one of the best voices in music today. I have no desire to see most of her sternum. Also: Spanx much?

Here are some photos of Robin Thicke on New Year?s Day in Miami. He was out with his wife Paula and during the day, he was seen hanging out on a hotel balcony with some K-Fed/Taylor Kitsch looking dude. Apparently, Robin rang in the New Year in Miami, probably earning some ridiculous amount to perform. But! Page Six says that Robin nearly pulled out of the NYE gig because SLS Hotel South Beach gave him a tiny room. Robin Thicke is a diva?! Well, I never.
Robin Thicke threatened to pull out of a New Year?s Eve appearance at SLS Hotel South Beach because he thought his room was too small.
The ?Blurred Lines? crooner was booked to perform and host a party at the Miami hotel and checked in Monday. But we?re told Thicke was dissatisfied with his digs and demanded to be moved.
?He threatened to pull out if he didn?t get a bigger room,? a source said. ?His travel agent was calling all over Miami to get him a bigger room at a different hotel.? But a rep for the SLS denied the drama, saying, ?Robin has been a great guest.?
Thicke played the Gatsby-themed bash with Skylar Grey.
On Sunday, Thicke and his wife, Paula Patton, could have used a room before heading to Miami.
Spies at 1Oak in Las Vegas told us the couple were ?too busy kissing and hugging? during Major Lazer?s performance to pay attention to the show. ?No one could interrupt them. Fans were coming up to them, but the couple ignored them,? said a spy. ?The only time they broke away from each other was when Thicke went to the DJ booth to yell ?Happy New Year.???

Huh. My feeling is that Robin probably did pitch a fit over his room, but the hotel quickly agreed to move him into some more luxurious digs and the hissy fit was over. As for Robin and Paula?s PDA? lord, I don?t even know what?s going on in their marriage. I hope they?re happy and I hope there?s less drama from them in 2014. As in, I hope I don?t have to write about a constant barrage of reports of Robin coming on to 20-year-old club chicks. Please.

Gearing up the start of awards season, Paula Patton and Octavia Spencer turned up to present the 2014 Film Independent?s Spirit Awards nominees on Tuesday (November 26).
The lovely ladies lit up the podium with their smiles as they went through the nomination categories, with Paula rocking a new 'do.
The annual awards show will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2014 in Santa Monica and will air on IFC at 10:00 PM that evening.
This year's nominees include "12 Years A Slave," "All is Lost," "Frances Ha," "Inside Llewyn Davis" and "Nebraska" in the Best Feature category.

Yesterday, I confessed to finding it both hot and sweet that Robin Thicke claimed to have written “Blurred Lines” about his wife, Paula Patton. I know the guy has changed his lyrical story several times, and he and Paula probably get stuff on the side, but they seem happy together. Who knows — they could be faking it just like Heidi and Seal did all those years, but I refuse to see that right now.
At the moment, the couple is steadily veering into oversharing territory. Paula and Robin both gush about each other, but now Paula is addressing Robin’s “big d—” claim. To be more specific, there’s a part in the “Blurred Lines” video where model Elle Evans (the one who hilariously thought Miley’s VMA performance was “distasteful“) dances in front of silver balloons that read, “Robin Thicke has a big d—.” Paula says that claim is absolutely true:
On her style: “I would really love to be a sixties movie star like Sophia Loren or Brigitte Bardot but with a bohemian twist–I have a little bit of hippie in me. I was the kid who would go climb trees in a dress.”
On her diet: “I?m an extremist. Either I?m being healthy and organic, or I want a big, juicy In-N-Out burger, you know? And I want it now! It?s certainly not gonna make me a runway model, but it sure makes me happy.”
On she & Robin’s first kiss: “He sang Jodeci’s ‘Forever My Lady to me. He did a full-out R&B onstage performance in his dad’s living room. Then he kissed me. It worked!”
On being “the good girl”: “He ruined me! Gosh, I hope I?m still a good girl and a bad girl at the same time. And I think that every girl should know the bad girl inside her–and that doesn?t make her bad, you know?”
On Robin’s “big d—” claim: “It?s cool, it?s funny, it?s awesome! Listen, if I?m, you know, in the Miami Heat’s locker room, I don?t know where I stand, but…. But I think that the statement is fairly accurate!”

I don’t know, man. It doesn’t even matter what size Robin is packing down there, but now Paula’s put it into my head that it’s true. This seems a little try hard, and I thought the very same thing when Victoria Beckham was telling us all how David Beckham carried around an exhaust pipe in his pants. Why do these ladies care what we think about their man’s unit?

“Blurred Lines” is still running hot on my iPod shuffle after dominating as a major summer hit. Of course there’s the controversy about the lyrics being kind of “rapey,” but I honestly think that there are a lot of pop songs out there that transmit the rapey vibe to a much greater agree. I tried to hate the video, but Robin and the ice cream cone get me every damn time.
All along, Robin has alluded to how “Blurred Lines” was supposed to be making fun of three “old” dudes (that is, himself, Pharrell, and T.I.) standing on a porch yelling, “Hey hey hey!” at hot young things. A new wrinkle has appeared in the equation. We’ve already heard about how Robin and Paula Patton probably have an open marriage, and she doesn’t mind when he gropes young blondes and gets off on their young age. Now Robin reveals that “Blurred Lines” is actually about Paula:
“I don’t think people got it. I wrote ["Blurred Lines"] about my wife … she’s my good girl. And I know she wants it because we’ve been together for 20 years.”
