You guys know I’m a big fan of Miley Cyrus, but I was expecting a little more from her at the Billboard Music Awards. I mean, don’t get me wrong, she definitely doesn’t look bad here, but now that she’s been named Maxim‘s #1 hottie, Miley has to be held to higher hotness standards. So

Miley Cyrus hit the Billboard music awards while wearing this edgy but ultimately gaudy black-and-white jumpsuit from Balmain. Miley’s been hitting it out of the fashion ballpark lately with her recent punky look at the Met Gala as well as a cute Valentino jumpsuit for Maxim, but her luck has run out with this checkered, crocheted jumpsuit that is probably meant to look rock ‘n’ roll but comes off as part doily, part Indy 500 checkered flag, and part deck of cards. Miley’s brash and sassy attitude on the red carpet helps her pull off the look somewhat, but it’s still a major eye sore. Oh well, one can’t be perfect all the time.
Miley’s hair and makeup are similarly brash. Her makeup (and especially that bold red lipstick) goes with her overall look, but the blonde-piled-on-brunette aspect is throwing me off a bit. Those darker roots aren’t bad in and of themselves, but the back view looks like Miley’s hairdresser has overdone the underdone look. Does that make sense? Oh, and while Miley walks alone yet again, Liam is supposedly partying it up in Cannes. Miley’s wearing her ring here, but I just don’t care anymore. In fact, I’m more over this relationship than Liam seems to be at the moment.
Amber Rose looked stunning in a simple black dress that draped beautifully and ended in lovely fringe-esque detail at the bottom. Her legs look great, and of course, Wiz Khalifa is so proud to have her on his arm. These two are the cutest together.

Miley Cyrus is Maxim Mag?s current #1 Hottest Lady or however they say it. And so Miley was invited to the big Maxim celebration last night in Hollywood. She wore this black-and-white Valentino pantsuit which? we recently saw in gown-form on Jennifer Aniston. Valentino is just churning out those similar-looking outfits, right? Anyway, I do like this jumpsuit on Miley. I like her overall look here a lot ? she?s got that crazy Pilates body, her hair has grown out a little and the dark roots really help. Miley was also wearing her engagement ring. Still. Because she?s 20 years old and her relationship is ALL DRAMZ.
What does the Maxim’s hottest girl of the year wear to their big party? A sexy jumpsuit! Miley Cyrus didn’t disappoint on the red carpet at Maxim’s 2013 Hot 100 party at Vanguard in Hollywood on Wednesday, May 15.
The 20-year-old singer rocked a sexy, strapless black and white Valentino jumpsuit, which she accessorized with a favorite pair of striped Saint Laurent heels that she’s been photographed shopping in before. The stylish star wore bright red lipstick for a pop of color, and slicked back her short blonde hair.
Before the party, Cyrus joked that her ensemble was a last-minute decision. “Hmmm . . . What to wear . . . What to wear . . . Hmmmm,” she tweeted. “Valentino. You’ve never done me wrong!” Cyrus has been loving the jumpsuit look lately. On March 22, she wore a black and white striped Chanel jumpsuit to the opening of Seacrest Studios at CHOC Children’s Hospital in Orange, Calif.
The “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks” singer only briefly flashed her engagement ring from Liam Hemsworth while attending the Maxim event solo. Instead, she kept her hands tucked firmly inside the pockets of her jumpsuit while posing on the carpet.
The former Hannah Montana actress was very honored to top Maxim’s annual Hot 100 list. “It feels amazing to be No. 1, especially because it was voted on by the fans. I have the best fans in the world!” she told the magazine. “It’s every woman’s fantasy to be told she’s No.1 on Maxim’s Hot 100! So crazy!”

Miley has been flashing her engagement ring in Twitter photos too. So I don?t know. Even though I like Miley and I want her to be good and psychologically healthy, this is my reading of how things are going down between her and Liam: I think she?s clinging. I think she?s the one holding on, trying anything to make it work, and I think Liam is totally over it and he really wants a clean break but he won?t just sack up and break it off for good, maybe because he?s young, maybe because he?s a d-bag, and maybe because he does genuinely care about her and he doesn?t want to hurt her. But Miley keeps sucking him in and so the state of their relationship is very? fluid. And drama-filled.
I?m also adding an extra photo of Abu Nazir (real name: Navid Negahban, from Homeland) just because I was absolutely SHOCKED to see him at this Maxim event. WTH?

Does anyone pay attention to Maxim’s Top 100 anymore? That was a rhetorical question by the waybecause the answer is no. And they still won’t if Maxim keeps putting Miley Cyrus at the top of the list like they did for 2013. The Top 100 list is usually a decent countdown from good to better but this year it’s like opening a spectacularly wrapped present to find a signed picture of Chet Haze inside. The novelty is there but is it something you really want?
It’s also telling when Maxim has to explain why they put Miley as number one. You shouldn’t ever have to explain why someone is your hottest pick. They told Fox their reasoning is that this is what the fans wanted.
?We went for Miley for a variety of reasons. First and foremost the Hot 100 over the last few years, actually specifically the last two years, we?ve actually had voting online and so we?ve put a bunch of women we think would be contenders on Maxim.com and we just have our readers go online and vote,” executive editor Patrick Carone said. “Miley just annihilated.”
Carone went on to explain, “The voting for her was absolutely tremendous, and then it doesn?t hurt she?s extremely cute. She?s young and she has her whole career ahead of her and I think really the thing with Miley that we love so much is she?s a global, international force.” He said, “Like she?s the kind of person who cuts her hair and it?s literally news in Japan and India. Everyone is fascinated by her love life. We?ve grown up with her. We?ve seen her turn from kind of a young girl into this beautiful woman and we really can?t get ?Party in the U.S.A? out of our heads.”
Oh, I’m sorry. In my day, these top 100 lists were all about objectifying woman.I didn’t realize I had to read Maxim with my pinky up now.

When I heard that this year’s Met Gala theme was “Punk: Chaos to Couture,” I was really hoping that Miley Cyrus would be included on the invite list, and sure enough, she was. After all, Miley has been aiming to look punky for about the last year or so while she attempts to remold her image, and while on the street, Miley is mostly getting it wrong, she actually got it right last night.
Miley wore a nude Marc Jacobs gown with a black mesh overlay that looked like a glammed-up version of what one would see at a Sex Pistols concert at the Cain’s Ballroom. I really love the black cuffs, and the spikey rings are a nice detail. This is a very sexy dress that goes right to the edge without revealing any flesh at all, and Miley did up her hair in grand, stand-up fashion. If only for the evening, Miley shone as the most appropriate princess at this ball.
Katy Perry put a fairy-tale spin on the punk concept, which is fitting because Katy usually looks most at home while wearing silly costumes. Here Katy wore a shiny, embellished Dolce & Gabbana dress (that was officially called the “Joan of Arc” gown) with a crown and crucifix earings. Katy poufed her locks up and went with her usual dramatic makeup that looked great with this outfit, but somehow she forgot all about the shoes. Black pumps, really? Well at least Katy accessorized with Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana themselves.
Florence Welch is often many things on the red carpet — last year she was both whimsical and weird at the Met — but she is never boring … that is, until now. For a woman who can dress like a rock ‘n’ roll lizard and still look fantastic, she looks surprisingly drab here in this fringey gown from Givenchy. Even Florence’s firey locks lack their usual bang. Florence could have run with the punky concept of the evening and really showed her stuff. Why so serious here?
