Here are some photos of Elizabeth Banks on the set of her new film, Walk of Shame, about a week ago. The movie also stars James Marsden and is billed as a romantic comedy. The film’s synopsis gives me a bad feeling about this one. “A news anchor’s attempts at a dream-job promotion is jeopardized by a drunken one-night stand.” Banks is better than such material, but I guess this is the movie business. It also really sounds like the plot to Judd Apatow’s Knocked Up, doesn’t it?
Banks recently sat down to record an episode of the “WTF” podcast, and she’s talking about postpartum bodies. However, we must remember that Banks is talking slightly out of school since both her first and second children were born via surrogate, so Banks has never actually given birth herself. I still think it’s very cool that Banks has readily spoken about how her own fertility difficulties and expressed a lot of gratitute towards her surrogate, who continues to be treated as part of their family. At the same time, Banks finds herself in very close proximity to the cumulative eating disorder called “Hollywood,” and she’s very disgusted with the widespread trend of “bouncing back” into bikini shape within weeks after childbirth. Banks thinks that new moms should really take it easy for awhile, and here are her words:
“I like to believe that if I had carried my own baby, I would have bounced back. But who knows? And by the way, it’s such a horrible — women should not be expected to bounce back … it’s a, I think, a true disservice what’s going on right now with all these celebrity moms … first of all, I just want to remind people that celebrities generally are genetically superior human beings on a certain level anyway … they’re mostly thin, you know, they got trainers, they work out, they’ve got money, they’ve got the ability, you know, and they are normally genetically predisposed to being thin people anyway, so like these women who are holding up, you know, certain people as their benchmark after they’ve had a child, like just go be with your kid for a minute … don’t get to the gym right away. It’s alright. This is not how it’s supposed to be, everybody. Calm down.”
[From WTF Podcast]
First off, I completely agree with Elizabeth’s sentiments, and it’s always wonderful to witness an established actress calling out all of the instantly skinny, post-baby figures in Hollywood. Jenna Fischer also famously stated that she was “standing in solidarity” with all of the women who aren’t size 2 after giving birth. It’s also refreshing to hear Elizabeth admit that she’d “like to believe” that if she had carried her own child, she “would have bounced back.” Because let’s face it — most women, no matter how much they talk, would love to not have the worry and hassle of regaining a pre-baby body. If Elizabeth would have been able to physically carry a child, would she have been the type of woman who fully worked out like a field afterwards in order to be immediately slim? We’ll never know, but hopefully her words mean as much as they seem to mean.

I’ve never thought much of Elizabeth Banks, but after seeing these pictures of her in a tight yellow dress on the set of her upcoming movie “Walk Of Shame”, that has changed. It doesn’t take much for me to fall in love with a celebrity as you can see. Anyway, if Elizabeth needs help researching

Reporting for duty on the set of her new movie, Elizabeth Banks filmed scenes for ?Walk of Shame? in Los Angeles yesterday (January 16).
And the ?Pitch Perfect? actress was hard to miss thanks to her slim-fitting canary yellow dress and uber-high heels.
Despite the unusually chilly conditions, Elizabeth was a great sport about shooting on location outdoors, though in between scenes she covered up with sweatpants and a coat.
Per the synopsis, ?Walk of Shame? is about ?a high-strung news anchor that has a night of fun that turns into an endless string of misadventures.?

| Elizabeth Banks welcomes second son Magnus Mitchell via gestational carrier | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Last March, Elizabeth Banks announced that she and her husband Max Handelman had welcomed their first child, a son named Felix, via gestational carrier. In her announcement, Elizabeth discussed her struggles with fertility and how close she and her husband became to the woman who carried their child. Well, 18 months later, Elizabeth has a new announcement: she?s a mom again! Elizabeth and her husband welcomed their second son at some point?? Here?s Elizabeth?s post on her blog:
As 2012 winds down and Thanksgiving approaches, I have much for which to be thankful – personal, professional, and Presidential.
However, nothing can match the joy and excitement my husband and I felt when we recently welcomed our second baby boy, Magnus Mitchell Handelman.
Magnus joins older brother Felix, thus commencing a decade or more of close hand to hand combat.
Like Felix, Magnus was born via gestational surrogate. This experience has exceeded all expectations, taught us a great deal about generosity and gratitude, and established a relationship that will last a lifetime. I am also so very thankful to our family and friends for their support throughout this process, as well as the Center for Surrogate Parenting for helping make all this possible.
I now turn my attention to managing two boys under two. For which I am thankful. And all their poop. For which I am less thankful.
Wish me luck.
[From Elizabeth?s blog]
Congrats to Elizabeth and Max! I love her, totally and completely. Previously she had been so open about her fertility struggles, and my heart just went out to her. I wonder if she used the same surrogate? Probably not?? Do the surrogacy agencies encourage surrogates to wait a certain amount of time before getting pregnant again?
As for the baby?s name? Magnus Mitchell. Hm. I liked his big brother Felix?s name a lot, but I?m not crazy about Magnus. It?s a ?big? name for a baby, and it?s a little bit pretentious. Maybe it?s a family name? I just don?t want to admit that I dislike Elizabeth?s baby name because I like her so much.

Taking care of her to-do list, Elizabeth Banks headed over to the Farmers Market in Los Angeles yesterday afternoon (August 5).
The ?Hunger Games? hottie opted to go without makeup and showed off her fresh-faced complexion along with a beautiful blue summer dress and sandals with a white sun hat.
In career news, Elizabeth will be making an appearance on the season premiere of ?The Family Guy? as the voice of the snooty wife of Lois? ex-boyfriend Ross Fishman who attempts to climb Mt. Everest.
Producer Mark Hentemann explained, ?The Fishmans look down their noses at the Griffins as these slobs. They?re super successful and they go on the most exotic vacations and they take on the greatest challenges? Peter picks up on his jealousy that he had in season 3 and says, ?Well, if they?re going to do it, we?re gonna do it ? and beat them.??

With her new movie "People Like Us" having just made its way into theaters, Elizabeth Banks landed a little extra overseas attention via the cover of the latest issue of IO Donna magazine.
The 38-year-old big screen beauty tossed on a Burberry Prorsum frock for the Ruven Afanador shot front page while dishing about everything from life after "The Hunger Games" to the values she finds important when it comes to raising her son.
Highlights from Miss Banks' interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to IO Donna!
On how "The Hunger Games" has changed her life:
"Well, I have many new young fans, for whom I'm very grateful. Effie Trinket has brought me incredible popularity and attention. She's a character that was fun to interperet, too - it was the icing on the cake."
On how she ended up in acting:
"It's all because of my dad (laughs). I grew up in Massachusetts, where winter is bitterly cold. Sunday was our big day and we'd spend time together for brunch while having amazing pancakes and muffins. We then sat down to watch old black and white films or musicals. And movies with Shirley Temple or Laurel and Hardy."
On what she enjoys doing outside of work:
"When at home, sometimes I go to Santa Monica Pier, where I practice a bit on the trapeze and bars. I typically arrive at the beach at 7:30 a.m. and drink a coffee at the Coffee Bean and then train. An ideal way to start the day."
On what values she's instilling in her son:
"The classical values of the working class. Felix will be working: the boys must grow up knowing the value of money. I agree with Bill Cosby's joke: 'I am rich, my son is not.'"

| Elizabeth Banks in Elie Saab, Missoni in NYC: gorgeous & awesome? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Elizabeth Banks and Chris Pine have been making the rounds over the past few days as they promote their new film, People Like Us. I really just wanted to talk about Elizabeth?s fashion moments over the past few days, but I will discuss the film in a moment. First, during the day, Elizabeth wore this rather awesome multi-colored dress. I can?t find the designer ID, but my guess is Missoni or a designer that wants to be the new Missoni. CB is in love with this dress, and I love it on Elizabeth. Why are so many celebrities afraid of this much color? She looks beautiful.
Then, last night, there was a screening for People Like Us in NYC. Banks wore a glittery Elie Saab. I?m not in love with this look ? I think it looks poorly tailored in the bust, but it makes Elizabeth?s body look bangin?. I will give her credit ? she cares about fashion, and she really puts some thought into how she presents herself.
In People Like Us, Pine and Banks play estranged siblings, and I believe Elizabeth?s character is struggling with addiction issues, maybe? It?s pretty much a straight-forward drama, so it?s surprising to me that the film is being released in the middle of the summer. Perhaps it?s counter-programming ? release a small little drama in the hopes that people will see the film because they?re tired of comic book movies and mindless action flicks. It?s also somewhat notable because neither Banks nor Pine are known for being dramatic actors ? when I think of Banks, I think of an odd-ball character actress known mostly for comedy. When I think of Pine, I think of ?wannabe movie star/leading man in rom-coms and action movies.? But critics are saying both Chris and Elizabeth are doing solid work in the film. Here?s the trailer:

Joining together to celebrate their latest film, Elizabeth Banks and Chris Pine attended the Cinema Society with Linda Wells & Allure screening of "People Like Us" in New York City on Monday evening (June 25).
The "Hunger Games" hottie brought her fashion A-game in a nude sequin embellished knee length dress and strappy heels while her handsome co-star looked dapper in a perfectly fitted grey suit as the two posed for pictures together before heading into the Clearview Chelsea Cinemas.
As for the Alex Kurtzman directed drama, "People Like Us" finds a man tasked with delivering $150,000 of his deceased father's fortune to the sister he has never met.
Prior to the red carpet premiere, Banks and Pine made an appearance on "Good Morning America" during which Elizabeth talked about the details of the film, saying, "It?s also about family secrets. Our father passes away and it turns out he had this secret family. And it?s about how those secrets work their way through families. And that the damage that they do doesn?t have to affect your future. You can have forgiveness and get past it and come together and that?s what we do in this film.?
Also starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Olivia Wilde, the new motion picture is set to hit theaters this Friday (June 29).
