Kristin Cavallari has her hand in many pots at present. She is, as we know, mother to three kids aged one to five, a lifestyle author, a shoe designer and a jewelry designer. She is also a fashion innovator, according to Kristin. It is because of her ?signature look? that we are seeing chokers in every department store, presently ? because Kristin believes she started that trend when she was wearing her black suede strap back on her days on Laguna Beach/Hills.
The choker necklace is really having a moment right now ? but don’t forget, the simple black strap has beenKristin Cavallari’s signature look since 2004.
“I like to think [I started the trend] in myLagunadays,” Cavallari, 30, exclusively tellsUs Weeklyat the West Hollywood pop-up celebrating the Uncommon James Fall/Winter Collection. “I wore this black suede band essentially and never took it off and that’s cool now! Everything comes back around.”
Over a decade later, theLaguna BeachandHillsalum has dreamt up an elegant take on her high school wardrobe staple as thedesigner of her own jewelry brand, Uncommon James, which sells, among other items, dainty gold choker necklaces.
“I’m such a huge choker fan. I love that they’re such a hot trend. I love doing it in a more subtle, minimalistic way,” theBalancing in Heelsauthor notes. Her favorite way to wear the look now: “I love layering.”
In fact, layering chokers is the perfect way to have your jewelry mimic your wardrobe as the colder months approach. “Fall is my favorite [season] because of layering!” shares Cavallari. “It’s all about layering for me? Boots, hats, scarves ? the whole thing. I love it so much.”
[From Us]
Hello, Kristin? Cleopatra called, she?d like her credit please. I wanted to be generous to Kristin and say that she?s just talking about bringing it back around in the early aughts. But she sounds like she?s saying that the choker trend today is a throwback to what she started in 2004. Even if we ignore the amulets worn by the Sumerians, Mesopotamians and Egyptians or the famous pearl ‘B’ choker worn by Anne Boleyn because they’re a different style, the type of choker Kristin wore ?back in the day? has huge historical significance. French women in the late 1700s wore red ribbons around their necks to honor those who’d been guillotined. It was later adopted by ballet dancers and prostitutes. By Kristin’s logic, I’ll take credit for maternity clothes because I wore them a decade ago and since then, I’ve seen a bunch of pregnant women wearing them.
Speaking of saying stupid things, Kristin is in a bit of hot water for a rather insensitive comment she made the other day. Kristin?s husband, Jay Cutler, came out of ?retirement? when he got hired by the Miami Dolphins. Jay moved to Florida for the season but Kristin and the kids remained in Nashville since they had just gotten settled. In an interview, Kristin referred to herself as a ‘single parent’ for the next five months. Needless to say, it did not go over well. Again, I tried to be generous and say that it was just a very stupid joke but she later went on to say that, ?it actually hasn?t been as hard as I thought it was going to be, being a single parent.? I really don?t need to go into how insensitive these comments are, especially since so many single moms have done it for me.

There’s a change of scenery in store for reality show personality Kristin Cavallari and her family. The Hills alum shared a post on Instagram on Monday telling her followers that she, her husband Jay Cutler and her kids, sons Camden, 4, Jaxon, 2 and 16-month old daughter, Saylor, are leaving Chicago. Why the move? The re-lo is coming on the heels of Jay being released from the Chicago Bears, where he was the QB for the team for eight seasons. Kristin, 30, posted the photo on Monday from the Windy City.
So we're moving from Chicago soon and I gotta say, I'm really gonna miss this place. Not only we're all 3 of my babies born here, it's where it all began with jay, it brought me closer to my mom who has become my best friend, I've made some amazing girlfriends, and I've really enjoyed being back here (a lot of people don't know I lived here when I was younger). Thanks for all the good times, Chicago. This will always be a special place for us ??

| Kristin Cavallari on her kids' Halloween costumes: 'I ordered them in August' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Did you read that title? See, I’m not the only Hallowloonie. Kristin Cavallari also starts prepping for Halloween months out. Kristin, who has teamed up with Bounty paper towels, talked to Jeremy Parsons from People while they painted pumpkins with glitter and polka dots. She says painting is a time saver over carving but you can’t see a painted pumpkin at night. There’s no flickering glow or sinister expression glaring at you from a darkened porch. (Did I mention I am fiercely competitive as well?) As for her kids’ costumes, she gets in early to make sure the sizes don’t sell out.
A little glitter goes a long way for Kristin Cavallari!
The former Hills star joined PEOPLE Now for some festive Halloween fun, where she praised the ease of painting pumpkins instead of carving them and showcased a glittery gourd she crafted herself. ?I?m very proud of it,? Cavallari says.
In between kid-safe tips and easy cleanup advice (hint: lots of paper towels), Cavallari, 29, shared her family?s plans for the spooky holiday.
?I love Halloween, we really go all out,? she says. Although her husband, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, will be ?playing on Halloween,? the reality TV star has plenty of costume goals in mind for the couple?s three kids. She even got them way ahead of time.
?I?m on top of it, I ordered them in August,? she says. ?Camden, my oldest, is going to be a pilot, like Top Gun style,? she says. ?Jaxon, my middle one, is going to be a fire truck, not a fire man. It?s so cute.?
[From People]
Even though this year Kristin will be dressing in tandem with her daughter Saylor, one, as white and black cats, she and Jay generally go as a couple costume. One year they dressed as Sandy and Danny from Grease. The Mister and I like to do the cutesy couple thing as well ? once we went as Jack the Ripper and victim two, Annie Chapman. I appreciate her ordering her costumes months out. It?s a good policy, provided the kids don?t change their mind. I usually need that kind of lead-time for construction because my kids always want some variation on a theme I can?t find in a store. Who?s the punk that suggested fostering creativity in children?! Kristin has me on the pumpkins, though. I am worthless when it comes to pumpkins.
Kristin also recently spoke to People about which of her children is most like her (middle child, Jaxon, who is stubborn and swears) and which makes her laugh the most (Saylor, who is dumps food on the floor for the dog.) She also said, ?I?m very comfortable with being a mom, and I?m proud of the way that we?ve raised our kids. I?ve done a few controversial things apparently, but I?m so confident in my decisions? “ I’m torn here. On the one hand, I am thrilled to hear a woman who is confident in being a mom ? I would kill to be able to say the same thing. On the other hand, her ?controversial things? are medically stated as controversial, not just ?apparently.? I wish she would just stick to Halloween craft advice, even if it is glitter pumpkins.
I’m not really a baby person but this picture of Saylor is really pinging my heartstrings
"Lettuce turnip the beet." When I asked the hubs what caption I should do for this pic, he responded with that gem from his BFF @tony2coats . Thanks guys, solid caption.

| Kristin Cavallari on her goat milk baby formula: 'online there's a million recipes' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Former star of The Hills, Kristin Cavallari, doesn’t vaccinate her kids, or at least she didn’t up until a couple of years ago when she said she didn’t. We know this because she admitted it and has defended herself by stating that vaccines cause asthma, allergies and ear infections. That’s just part of the reason why, when Kristin gives parenting and health advice, people roll their eyes and call her out for misinformation. A few month ago, Kristin touted a homemade baby formula made from goat’s milk and claimed that she used it to “avoid heavily processes store bought formula” and because her kids are sensitive to cow’s milk. In response, doctors warned people against using homemade formulas and said that making your own formula can lead to nutritional deficiencies in infants. In a new interview with People magazine, Kristin defended her homemade goat’s milk formula and said that it’s got oils in it, she ran it by her pediatrician and that there are a “million” recipes for it online so it’s got to be ok, right? She also said she breastfed her babies first and that the formula was only used later with them. Kristin has three children with her husband, Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. They have sons Camden, 4, and Jaxon, 2, and daughter Saylor, who turns one next month.
On the criticism for her homemade goat milk formula
I knew that was going to be controversial… I breastfed all three of my children. When I was done breastfeeding we made our own goat milk formula. It wasn’t just straight goat milk from a farm… people I think were under the impression that it’s like unpasteurized raw goat milk I was giving my children. We mixed in all kinds of oils, cod liver oil, all kinds of great stuff. We went over it with our pediatrician. If you go online there’s a million recipes for it. It’s worked great for all of my kids, they all have cow’s milk sensitivities. When I was done breastfeeding, instead of giving them cow’s milk or whatever we gave them goat milk. My only issue is do what’s best for you. What’s best for us isn’t necessarily best for you and that’s ok.
Is there a mom in the public eye you looked up to for this process?
Every single mom. I know how difficult it is to raise a kid in the public eye. It’s really tough and I think that’s why a lot of people want to keep their children private and don’t want to talk too much about ‘em. I mean I totally understand it. At the end of the day all of us moms and dads too I think we’re just trying to do the best job that we know how to do.
[From video on People.com]
Kristin is framing this as a personal choice but she seems to conflate anecdotal evidence, which you can always find plenty of online, with actual science when it comes to raising her kids. While it is her choice, when she ventures into the “mommy advice” area, that’s when people (rightly) freak out. As people often say, I guess that’s why we don’t get health advice from reality stars. Also, I got the impression that she knows being a mom is her bread and (gluten free artisanal organic goats milk) butter and she’s not about to stop talking about her kids or posting photos of them. That’s her choice and it’s a valid one as opposed to some of the other things she frames as choices.
Update: Several of you have commented that as long as this formula is given after an infant is done breastfeeding, and after checking with a doctor, it may be ok. However I found multiple warnings against using homemade goat’s milk formula, including the British government, which advised mothers not to use it.
My little love! #BabysFirstSteps #StopGrowingPlease ?

| Kristin Cavallari: 'I don't do any cardio, it's just about building muscle' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Kristin Cavallari covers Modeliste Magazine wearing a bunch of fake butterflies all over her head and heavy makeup in need of blending. She’s promoting her book, Balancing in Heels, her jewelry line, her fashion line and her shoe line. (She has a lifestyle app too but she didn’t plug it in this article.) Plus she wants to put out a cookbook and she talks about that. So Kristin is carving out a niche for herself post-Laguna Beach, which is smart coming from a woman who is not known for making logical decisions. (You know what I’m talking about, I’m not getting into it.) E! ran some of these quotes with the title that Kristin doesn’t do any cardio, which is surprising to me. She definitely looks like she does cardio, but I guess it doesn’t matter as long as she’s eating less than she burns. She also talked about her three children, sons Camden, nearly 4, Jaxon, 2, and daughter Saylor, six months, with her husband, football player Jay Cutler.
What do you find to be the most challenging aspects of being a mom?
I think the hardest part of being a working mom is that I miss my kids a lot. I live in Chicago, but my work is always in New York or LA, so I always have to travel for my job. That usually means I’m gone for a couple of days at a time, but FaceTime helps a lot. I think the other hardest part of being a mom is that, when you finally have kids, you realize how selfish you are. I think that we are naturally selfish beings. When you have kids, that can kind of be a shock at first. I think just trying to make time for yourself is very hard. Especially now that I have 3, finding that time can be very difficult.
What’s the most rewarding part about having kids?
The most rewarding part about having kids is there’s just so much more love in your life. I finally feel like I have a real identity. I feel like I have a purpose here in life now. I’m a mom to these three amazing little babies and my whole world just kind of opened up.
How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is effortless, minimalistic and chic.
Do you have a piece of clothing that you always run to in your closet?
A go-to piece of clothing to me is a romper. I think rompers are great because they’re sexy, they’re easy and all you need to do is grab a romper, a sexy pair of shoes, accessories and you’re done.
How do you stay in shape?
I work out with a trainer 2-4 times a week and I just do weight training. I don’t do any cardio. For me, it’s just about building muscle and maintaining the little muscle I have. The more muscle you have, the more fat you burn.
[From Modeliste via E! Online]
Notice how she describes herself as chic and then says her go-to clothing item is a romper. I guess I’m just not a romper person and prefer a nice wrap dress, but I’m sure there are many of you who wear rompers and look great in them. (I just know if I come out against rompers people will tell me I’m wrong and that rompers are awesome.)
In past interviews Kristin has said that she does pilates, lifts weights and does leg work including squats and lunges. That may not be traditional cardio but it still works up a sweat. I prefer workouts like spinning and dance aerobics to the point where I probably do too much and am ravishingly hungry afterwards, which derails some of my progress. I just love the way it makes me feel, but I’m trying to do more weight lifting and body weight exercises. Obviously whatever Kristin is doing is working for her. My philosophy is to exercise in a way that makes you happy so that you’ll do it consistently. I’m not about shaming people for doing their own thing/”less” or whatever some snooty trainer wants to say about how her way is the only way.

| Kristin Cavallari admits sexting with husband Jay Cutler: TMI? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Hills alum and author Kristin Cavallari is on the promotional trail for her new book Balancing in Heels: My Journey to Health, Happiness, and Making It All Work. She recently sat down with Steve Harvey, whom I can only assume is the Ellen DeGeneres for lower level celebrities, and the discussion turned to the part of her book that discussed how she and husband, Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler, engage in sexting when they are apart. I didn?t need to know that, but Steve Harvey did. When asked about the sexting, Kristin laughingly confessed, ?Half the time, I?m doing other stuff. I?m doing my nails, I?m folding laundry, and then I?ll kind of do a little text.?
In the book, Kristin writes that she and Jay video chat and send each other sexy photos, asserting that you ?Gotta do what you gotta do? to keep things exciting in the marriage. Kristin also discussed some other details of her previously rocky romance. Here are some highlights:
On postponing her marriage: We moved vey quickly: We got engaged after eight months, and then we actually broke up about two and a half, three months later. Called off the engagement. And then we got back together, and when we got back together, I kind of went through a little phase where I didn’t know if I wanted to get married. I think it was really more about my ego, I had one foot in and one foot out and that was ridiculous. And if we were gonna be together and really give it a shot, that wasn’t fair. So, I decided to grow up, I guess.
On going to marriage counseling with Jay: I think it’s important for people to know that there’s no such thing as a perfect relationship, you know? We work on it. It’s true. We love each other and we want to make it work, but I 100 percent credit our therapist for saving our relationship. We’ve come so far being in therapy both individually and together as a couple, that it’s been incredibly beneficial.
[From Us Magazine]
Kristin had previously talked about the benefits of therapy for her relationship and I guess it?s admirable that she?s so open about discussing it, trying to remove any perceived stigmas. But, in this day and age I would think a lot of couples go to counseling. I did. Didn?t help, but I tried. I?m not the audience for this book, but I guess a self-help memoir is the logical next step for former reality stars? Well, that and humblebrag pics on Instagram, like the one Kristin recently posted of her in a bikini getting ready to pump breast milk. Again, didn?t need to know that, but I?ll grudgingly admit that she can rock a bikini.
Thank you @inspirato for this gorgeous view while I pump ?? #DutyCalls #Inspirato

| Kristin Cavallari: 'I?m very fortunate to sort of have everything' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Kristin Cavallari is Bella New York magazine?s March cover girl. I am not familiar with the print magazine but I really like Bella LA?s online magazine, it?s great for local gems and tips. Kristin is best known for her role on The Hills and Laguna Beach, neither of which I have seen; one of my freshman college roommates was from Laguna Hills, I feel like I lived it already. Since finding fame on reality TV, Kristin has gone on to produce a jewelry line, a pretty cute shoe line for Chinese Laundry and marry Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.
Even with little knowledge of Kristin, I really felt for her at the end of last year when, soon after the birth of her 3rd baby, a girl named Saylor, her brother Michael went missing only to be found dead from hypothermia.
2016 is turning out to be better for Kristin as she begins her first book tour for her memoir/lifestyle book, Balancing in Heels: My Journey to Health, Happiness, and Making it All Work, which sort of fits with her lifestyle app. I always laugh at a 29-year-old writing a memoir, I guess the edge is you haven?t forgotten anything. For her exclusive with Bella, Kristin admits to being quite fortunate:
Kristin Cavallari is among the first to acknowledge that she’s a pretty fortunate person.
The Hills star is just 29 but already has a doting husband, three beautiful children, a career as a fashion designer and actress and now she’s adding author to her resume.
‘I’m very fortunate to sort of have everything,’ she told Bella magazine.
She told Bella the key to her being able to juggle so many things is the fact she’s in a position to be able to choose her own hours.
“I have a shoe line and a jewelry line, and I can work on those from anywhere,” she says. “And with the book [Balancing in Heels], same thing, you know, I could write it in my spare time, when the kids are sleeping or my husband [Jay Cutler] could watch them and let me write for a little while, and so I’m very fortunate to sort of have everything.”
Kristin says she’s “had to pass on a few really exciting opportunities” career-wise that would’ve kept her in L.A., but she’s maintained a robust professional life. “Who knows what will happen in five years, but right now, my priority is my family,” she says.
[From The Daily Mail and E! Online]
I have poked through the sample of Balancing in Heels on Amazon; I do love the title. The book looks fairly standard and much more about her life instead of, say, our lives. I like that she talks about Jay?s Type 1 diabetes and includes some recipes for that. As I said, I currently have a bit of a soft spot for Kristin so I am going to wish her well on her ventures. I do bristle at how casually she says she fit in writing a book. I have never written a lifestyle book but I have written a book and even with a supportive husband and sleeping children, writing it didn’t fit so tidily into my schedule.
I appreciate that she acknowledges the advantages she had to pursue her various endeavors, at least she is not trying to equate herself with the common person?s life. She told Inquisitr that in the book, ?I really talk about my relationship with Jay ? and I don?t sugarcoat anything. I?m very honest about the fact that we don?t have a perfect relationship. But we?re doing everything we can to make it work.? Theirs was not an easy trip down the aisle so good for them for continuing to work on it.
Pack your bags! Come see me on my book tour in NYC, Chicago, and LA. To check out the dates go to http://balancinginheelsbook.com/book-tour/ #BalancingInHeels

Things took a turn for the worse on Thursday (January 22) for Kristin Cavallari, as she was involved in an auto accident outside of Chicago.
The ?Laguna Beach? alum was driving solo when her vehicle was struck by another driver, and she was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
Cavallari?s husband Jay Cutler rushed to be by his wife?s side and thankfully everything seems to be okay. Her rep told GossipCop, ?She was hit by another driver in Chicago. She is doing fine and will be discharged from the hospital shortly.?
