Jennifer Lopez covers the September issue of InStyle Mag, which just further proves my theory that this year?s trend for September issues is ?Meh, who cares?? I remember when the all magazines really tried to get interesting or unusual cover girls for their September issues. But this year has seen women like Penelope Cruz, Gwen Stefani, Lady Gaga and now J.Lo take big September covers ? and no disrespect to all of those ladies, but none of them are big ?gets? for any magazine. They are ALWAYS on magazine covers. Remember when Linda Evangelista made her triumphant return on the cover of the September Vogue, after she had been MIA for years? That was more than a decade ago, and I still remember it, that?s how powerful it was. And these days, it?s just like, ?Meh, get J.Lo.? Anyway, enough bitching and moaning. Here are some excerpts from InStyle?s interview:
Jennifer on how she survives: ?I live by the mantra that God doesn’t give you anything you can’t handle. You realize that those difficult moments, the times when you feel pain, are when you do a lot of your growing. You realize: There?s no reason to be terrified of things. Either way I?m going to be OK. At this point in my life. I’ve learned I can really survive things.”
She?s going to give love another shot, always: ?The hard part is that you never stop believing in love. But that?s also the best part. You never stop believing, and you never, ever give up.?
Mom pressures: ?I feel the pressures of wanting to be a great parent and of wanting to do right by my children. Being a mom, or a dad, is the most important job there is. It doesn?t matter who you are. You have to embrace it for everything that it is.?
Her secret to success: “Finding balance … You have to know what makes you happy ? so your life is what you always dreamed it could be.”
She doesn?t give any quotes about Casper but ?he is described in the article as sitting out one of her concerts at a soundboard.?
On men: “The most important quality the man in my life should have is that he is sweet. I like the good guys.?

As much as I?d like to think that Jennifer?s refusal to discuss Casper Smart is some kind of harbinger of a potential breakup, I doubt it. Jennifer probably did this interview a few months ago, before all of the recent reports about Casper?s peep show/massage/gay cruising incident. Although the tabloids keep insisting that Casper and Jennifer will split soon, I just don?t think it will happen. Yet. Maybe I?m just trying to prepare myself for the worst. The worst = marriage.
Also: is it just me or does Jennifer sound particularly out of touch in this interview? I don?t have any problem believing she?s generally ?out of touch? with the way regular people live, but she seemed particularly ?Woe is me, my struggles are SO EPIC? in this interview. Get off the cross, J.Lo. People need the wood.

In the midst of rocky relationship reports, Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart put forth a show of solidarity with a family trip to a Calabasas, CA park on Sunday (August 5).
The former "American Idol" judge and her backup dancer beau ventured to the outdoor gathering place with Jennifer's twins, Max and Emme, with a helping hand also along for the playground playdate.
Tweeting about the fun-filled family doings, 43-year-old Miss Lopez wrote, "Enjoying the beautiful day with my coconuts at the park!! #dayoff#familia#LOVE".
The united front comes as rumors of troubled waters have surfaced following reports claiming that 25-year-old Smart recently was spied visiting an exotic massage parlor.
While Smart addressed the allegations by stating he simply got lost and walked into the wrong doorway, an E! insider tells, "They have not split yet, but it's fair to say they are cooling off a bit. The pictures have created a distance between them. Even if Casper is telling the truth, and he didn't mean to walk into the doorway, it just proves how young and immature he is."
The E! source added, "He should have been more careful. he knows he is often being followed by paparazzi."
Meanwhile, J Lo and Casper's attorneys, Howard Weitzman and Shawn Holley, blasted the tabloid tales, telling, "These statements are false, malicious and defamatory. Ms. Lopez and Mr. Smart will pursue all remedies available to them under the law."

Pushing forth with her post-Idol career, Jennifer Lopez has debuted a teaser to her newest music video, "Goin' In."
The Latino beauty dropped the clip on Monday (July 23), finding time to tweet about the short video offering in between a full day of shopping and dinner with her beau, Casper Smart.
As for J. Lo's teaser, the 43-year-old is trying to get her fans pumped ahead of the full video's mid-week release, writing, "My #GoinIn video premieres this Wednesday! Check out a sneak peek: http://bit.ly/NrLBc1 It's on my greatest hits album, out tomorrow!"

Happy birthday to Jennifer Lopez! She turns 43 years old today. Does she look 43? I don?t think she does. I think she could easily pass for mid-30s. Of course, I also think she might have gotten some slight plastic surgery a few years ago, nothing too drastic, but noticeable if you look through photos of J.Lo throughout the past decade. Anyway, these are photos of Jennifer and Casper Smart out to dinner last night in NYC. I?m guessing it was Jennifer?s pre-birthday dinner, and she made Casper put on his big-boy clothes and take her out (although she paid). Can I just say? I?m pretty much in love with Jennifer?s outfit. Those leather pants are amazing and that blouse is really cool.
Yesterday, we discussed whether Casper would propose to Jennifer on her birthday. I?m seeing a lot of beautiful rings on Jennifer?s fingers, but nothing is screaming ?engagement ring!? to me. Maybe he?ll propose tonight? I really do think she?s expecting it. An engagement would be right on schedule for her. It’s actually past due.
Here?s a teaser of J.Lo?s new music video, ?Goin? In?. OMG LOOK AT HER LIPS. Is this a new trend, bejeweled lips? Epic. The full music video will premiere tomorrow on MTV.

Treating themselves to a delicious meal, Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart hit up Pastis restaurant in New York City last night (July 22).
The ?Waiting for Tonight? songstress and her much-younger boyfriend dined together before heading over to Scoop boutique for some retail therapy.
And J. Lo had the shutterbugs? undivided attention thanks to her semi-see-through black top that gave a great view of her white bra underneath.
Coming up on Wednesday (July 25th) Jennifer will debut her brand new video ?Goin In? on MTV at 7:50pm ET followed by an exclusive 30-minute interview.

These are photos of Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart ?out to dinner? yesterday in NYC. This is how Jennifer dresses casually ? and it?s not horrible, in my opinion. I like when she does head-scarves, and I like the white jeans and flip-flops (I?m a sucker for celebrities in flip-flops). The piece that I don?t like is the t-shirt? with some kind of metal embellishments on the shoulders. It would have been cuter is she had just done a simple white t-shirt, I think. People are making a big deal about how we can see Jennifer?s bra through the t-shirt, but it happens. I don?t know if the t-shirt is really thin or if it?s just the lighting or whatever. All I know is that the ?bra? part of this doesn?t offend me. What does offend me? Yeah. Casper. As for Casper and his FACE (ugh) and his Timbs? does this boy even know how to tie his own shoes? How does he even walk without falling down?
Apparently, this outing was Jennifer and Casper enjoying their ?night off? from her tour ? in which Casper has been made the ?lead choreographer?. Jennifer and Casper spent the day shopping, then eating at Pastis, then they spent the night on a private yacht.
By the way, Jennifer?s birthday is tomorrow. Will Casper propose on her birthday? I kind of think she?s expecting it, don?t you? She probably already picked out the ring, paid for it and gave it to Casper to give back to her. I wonder how she asked to be proposed to? Privately (say, on a yacht?), or in front of a huge audience, like on stage in the middle of her show? Yes, I?m kind of expecting some news from J.Lo this week. You should prepare yourselves ? he?s going to propose at some point and she?ll say yes. Because she believes in fairy tales. For real.

When we discussed Jennifer Lopez?s announcement on Friday, I said that I was disappointed in her decision to quit American Idol. I read it as Jennifer quitting a show that had given her career a second act, and that she probably left after a squabble about money (and/or scheduling). But! Some of you theorized that with Jennifer AND Steven Tyler?s hasty exits, that they had been pushed out rather than deciding to leave of their own volition. The Wrap and Radar agrees with that theory ? their sources claim that Jennifer asked for a $2 million bump in salary, and Idol was all “Eh. Not so much.”
Jennifer Lopez says it was her choice to leave “American Idol” — but the singer was actually dumped by Fox when she asked for a $2 million raise in salary to $17 million, a person familiar with the negotiations told TheWrap.
Fox also opted not to pick up Steven Tyler’s option, the person said. Tyler announced his departure Thursday, saying he had decided to devote his energies to his first love, Aerosmith. Lopez said she wanted to focus on other aspects of her career and her children.
The exits — and the possible departure of Randy Jackson, widely speculated to be considering an exit after judging on all 11 seasons of the former No. 1 show — come as it undergoes another dramatic overhaul, just two seasons after the show was retooled by introducing Tyler and Lopez.
The insider said top Fox executives Peter Rice and Kevin Reilly want to revamp the show, and that Rice has told colleagues he wants an “Idol 2.0,” of which host Ryan Seacrest would be the only essential ingredient.
A Fox spokeswoman declined to comment.
The insider said J. Lo’s fee went from $12 million in her first season to $15 million in her second. When she asked for another $2 million, the network surprised her by not making a counteroffer.
“Idol” lost its top spot in the ratings to NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” last season after eight years of dominance. In their two seasons, Tyler and Lopez helped prop up the show. But they could not return it to its former dominance as the sing-off market became glutted with competition, including NBC’s “The Voice” and Fox’s “X Factor” from ex-”Idol” judge Simon Cowell.
That glut — which also includes ABC’s “Duets” — has created a mini gold rush for singers.
Many music stars are being considered to replace Lopez and Tyler, including Mariah Carey — whom Cowell has long sought for “X Factor” — Kanye West, Mary J. Blige and Lenny Kravitz.
If Jackson stays with “Idol,” he has an inside track with Carey that his former “Idol” colleague lacked: Jackson is Carey’s manager.

So it was about money AND it was about being dumped. Allegedly. I could see it playing out like this ? Jennifer wasn?t sure if she wanted to do another season but she wanted to see how much they would give her, and when they didn?t dump at the chance to pay her $17 million, she saw the writing on the wall and it became a ?mutual? decision. And poor Steven Tyler!
As for the names being mentioned as possible replacements? well, you know Mariah would be a glorious trainwreck and people would simply tune in to see THE MARIAH SHOW, also known as American Idol WITH Mariah Carey. Mary J. Blige has the benefit of being actually qualified to mentor young talent and give good criticism, so obviously she?s probably not really in the running. Lenny Kravitz would be interesting ? have you ever seen him in a television interview? He?s actually a really good sport, and he doesn?t mind making fun of himself. He would be interesting. And Kanye? well, if Mariah is on board, then I really hope and pray that Kanye signs on too. Because that would be MAGIC!! Kanye + Mariah = MUST SEE TV.

They?re always up for a good time, and last month Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart elected to spend some of their downtime in Fortaleza, Brazil.
The ?On the Floor? songstress and her much younger dancer boyfriend were joined by J. Lo?s kids Max and Emme as they splashed in the sea and relaxed on the beach.
Lopez and Smart also invited some family members to join in the fun during their rare time off from their current world tour.
Jennifer performed for thousands in Recife the following day before flying back to the USA to tend to her Stateside to-do list.
