Ivanka Trump covers the new issue of Town & Country. It would be politically disadvantageous for any wife/daughter/political surrogate to cover a magazine which is so ?fancy?? unless that candidate is Donald Trump, you know? Like, Michelle Obama or Hillary Clinton couldn?t cover Town & Country during an election cycle, but since it?s Ivanka, it?s a non-issue. Anyway, Ivanka talks to Town & Country about her dad and how he?s not a terrible sexist (he is, but his unhinged fascism worries me more than his unhinged sexism). Ivanka also chats about whether she ?has it all? with motherhood and a career. Some highlights:
Whether she ever admonishes her dad: ?Well, I?m his daughter. In a political capacity, I don?t. It?s his campaign. I don?t feel that?s my role. But I would challenge him as a child. That?s what children do. [My daughter] Arabella challenges me every day. People ask me, do I ever disagree with my father? It would be a little strange if I didn?t.?
On her father?s repeated sexist comments: “You could also list a few comments he?s made about men that are unflattering. I think my dad is highly gender-neutral. If he doesn?t like someone, he?ll articulate that, and I think it?s also part of what resonates about him. He?ll say what he?s thinking.?
On her father and his respect for women: ?If he didn?t feel that women were as competent as men, I would be relegated to some role subordinate to my brothers. I think this is one of his great strengths: He fully prioritizes merit and accomplishment and skill and ability over background, education, and gender. This company, over four decades, has always had women in its highest ranks? I think he?s one of the great advocates for women, and he has been a great example to me my whole life? He 100 percent believes in equality of gender? [He has] confidence in women to do any job that a man can do, and my whole life has been proof of that.?
On working, motherhood and ?having it all?: ?I abhor this question of ?having it all.? People talk about balance. Balance is an awful measure of things, because it implies a scale that inevitably tips. I like to look through the filter of ?Is the life I?m leading consistent with my priorities?? For me, my family is the ultimate litmus test. Do I feel I?m giving my children what they need? But I don?t do everything. I wouldn?t be able to do what I do professionally if I did. I don?t go to the afternoon classes. I don?t take my son to the sports playgroup in the middle of the day. For some people that?s a compromise they aren?t willing to make, and I respect that.?
On the possibility of entering politics herself: ?It?s not something I?ve ever been inclined to do, but I?m 34, so who knows? At this point I would never even contemplate it, but that doesn?t mean that when I?m 50 I won?t have a change of heart.?
[From Town & Country]
For the ?having it all? question, I kind of respect her answer. Ivanka has never tried to convince anyone that she?s the second coming of Jennifer Garner, you know? She?s never put on the air of ?I?m an amazing, hands-on mom who is there for every little moment.? She?s openly discussed her work schedule (an ordinary work day for her is 16 hours long) and she?s said that she?s not spending a lot of time with her kids during the week. And it?s clear that her work is just as important to her as her family, so… whatever works for her. As for all of the stuff about her dad? that bothers me so much more. Just because Donald Trump plays favorites with one of his daughters (and yes, I do think Ivanka is his favorite child), that doesn?t mean that he?s not an awful misogynist.

Ivanka Trump has a feature in the March issue of Vogue to promote Celebrity Apprentice. She’s photographed here by Mario Testino. Her dress is Erdem, and she’s hanging out with her son, Joseph. Most of the interview covers Ivanka’s fast-paced lifestyle and how she rules the boardroom at work but finds time to balance family. Her husband, Jared Kushner, is present through much of the discussion. He calls his wife “definitely the CEO of our household, whereas I?m more on the board of directors.”
Ivanka’s previously talked about how she works 16 hour days, and she sees her kids (including daughter Arabella) at night for a quick sleep routine. Ivanka believes working so much helps her be a better mother when she comes home. The mere thought exhausts me because there’s always so much to be done as a mother. Even working for 8 hours every day on top of mothering can push someone to their limits. Jared says Ivanka “doesn’t want to outsource mothering,” but she does have help. She just doesn’t talk about it.
In this interview with Vicki Woods, Ivanka reveals how she focuses on family in one key way. Every weekend she turns off her phone to observe the Sabbath, which is solely devoted to family time:
On turning off her phone: “Yeah, we observe the Sabbath. From Friday to Saturday we don?t do anything but hang out with one another. We don’t make phone calls. It?s an amazing thing when you?re so connected … to really sign off. And for Arabella to know that she has me, undivided, one day a week? We don?t do anything except play with each other, hang out with one another, go on walks together. Pure family.”
On appreciating what she has: “You realize in life not that many things matter that much, but your choice of spouse is really everything. I am running a thousand miles a minute, and so is he, but none of it really matters. And I wouldn?t be able to do any of it if I didn?t have somebody who cared about me and had my best interests in mind. If I was married to somebody who, even if beneath the surface, didn?t like the fact that I work so hard or didn?t support my ambitions for myself or felt self-conscious about my last name … I think it would be very hard to build a solid foundation on that.”
[From Vogue]
Ivanka also reveals how she and Jared go out nearly every weeknight together, which sounds awesome but exhausting. I couldn’t be away from home for 16 hours (plus a date and time with a personal trainer) every day, but no shade. It works for them, and a dose of concentrated family time every weekend must help a lot. Turning off your phone for 25 hours every weekend is a hardcore commitment. Ivanka seems very well bonded with her kids in these pictures. Good for her.

| Ivanka Trump feels guilty about exercising after working 16 hours a day | Added 11 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I don’t get Ivanka Trump, but I appreciate that she’s not a smug “my way is the only way” type of celebrity. Ivanka will tell you what works for her, but she presents it as her choice and not like she’s shading anyone else for not following her lead. For instance, just last year Ivanka admitted that she works 16 hour days in her job as the CEO of a shoe company. At that point she had only one child, daughter Arabella, now nearly three. Ivanka admitted that she saw Arabella in the mornings and for an hour and 15 minutes on weekday evenings, and that she found weekends with her daughter “exhausting” and harder than working at the office. She also said some really nice things about working moms busting their butts.
Ivanka has since had another child, son Joseph, born last October. She’s of course lost the baby weight in short order and looks gorgeous. In the upcoming issue of Shape she shared some of diet and exercise tips and it was all pretty sensible. (Ivanka is on the cover but it hasn’t been released yet. We’ll update with that as soon as it’s out.) She also said that she feels guilty being away from her family to exercise. That doesn’t make sense to me considering how much she works, but I’m just trying to figure her out. Again at least she’s not acting superior. Here’s more:
Now the model, businesswoman, entrepreneur and TV star has shared her secrets for keeping in shape and balancing her busy life in an interview for the May edition of Shape magazine.
The 32-year-old daughter of Donald and Ivana Trump admitted: ‘I ate like a teenager. Carbs three meals a day, usually in the form of pizza or pasta.’
But that began to change when she was expecting Arabella, who will be three in July.
The Celebrity Apprentice judge forced herself to eat more lean protein such as chicken and fish.
‘Slowly, I started to actually enjoy, if not crave these healthier options. Now healthy eating is the norm for me.
‘I love making vegetable, pea and broccoli soups. They’re pure, low calorie and incredibly tasty.’
All this healthy food works.
And it helped her lose the 40lbs she put on with her daughter, and the 30lbs she later put on with her son, Joseph, who was born in October.
The executive VP of development acquisitions at the Trump Organisation pinged back into pre-baby shape in record time.
She looks tanned and toned on Shape’s front cover, wearing low-rise blue skinny jeans that skim her hips and a white cropped top that reveals her cleavage and her taut tummy. Her long blonde tresses frame her perfectly made-up face.
Ivanka also credits trainer Rhonda Malkin, a former Rockettes dancer, for helping her sculpt her body.
Rhonda has developed her own method, called Fusion Exercise, which incorporates dance, yoga, Pilates and massage.
And the celebrity donned revealing white workout gear as she demonstrated six of Rhonda’s exercises for the magazine.
Busy Ivanka told the magazine: ‘When I was in my 20s, I felt guilty if I didn’t exercise – now I feel guilty if I do. It’s time I could be spending with my family.’
So ‘date nights’ for her and her businessman husband of five years, Jared Kushner, usually involve playing tennis or golf.
She also has tricks for adding a bit more exercise to her daily life.
‘I’ll take the stairs instead of the elevator, or when I’m on a phone call, I’ll do squats or pace the room when I’m talking,’ she shared.
‘We’re modern women! We have to figure out how to make it work, right?’
[From The Daily Mail]
Maybe Ivanka is just one of those people who feels like she has to be either at work or spending with her family. When she’s not doing one of those things she thinks she’s wasting time. But it doesn’t make sense to me why she doesn’t carve out time from work to exercise. Maybe she does though and feels like she should be spending that time with her kids, I don’t know. There are pictures of Ivanka on social media exercising with her kids, which seems like a nice way to combine family time with exercise.
I checked out Ivanka’s tumblr and I have to say I love her shoes! There was a pair I really wanted, these super cute Derry booties, but they don’t have them in black and white in my size anymore on Zappos or Nordstrom. The candid photos that Ivanka posts of her family are lovely. She doesn’t seem like she’s bragging, just sharing. I do like her. It’s impressive to me that Donald Trump’s daughter turned out so well. Also, her children are adorable.

Holding her little bundle of joy close in her arms, Ivanka Trump took baby boy Joseph Frederick to the doctor's office in New York City this morning (October 18).
Already in pre-baby form, the Trump princess had her blonde hair down, wearing large shades and heels as she held Joseph in her arms while making her way into the office.
Joseph Frederick was absolutely precious, no more than the size of a loaf of bread in his mother's arms, wrapped in a cream blanket. Looking close enough at the pictures, little Joseph's tiny feet also stuck out from underneath his warm shell.
His 31-year-old mommy explained the meaning behind her son's name, writing on Tumblr, "Joseph Frederick Kushner, named after each of our paternal grandfathers, both master builders of their generation and inspiring patriarchs of their families."

As we discussed yesterday, Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner welcomed their second child on Tuesday, a little boy they?ve now named Joseph Frederick Kushner. Ivanka posted these first baby photos on her Tumblr, The Art of Ivanka Trump ? she?s holding the baby in one photo, and daughter Arabella is holding her baby brother in another. Thoughts on the name? I like it. As more ?unconventional? boys? names become more popular, I like when people choose old-faithful, traditional boys? names. Plus, both Joseph and Frederick are important names to both Ivanka and Jared, and the names sort of fit with their oldest kid?s name, Arabella.
She?s one proud mama! Only one day after giving birth to her baby boy, Ivanka Trump introduced her bundle of joy on her Tumblr Tuesday, sharing a photo of her cradling her swaddled son in the hospital.
The new mom also posted his birth announcement, revealing he arrived on Monday, Oct. 14 at 9:54 p.m.
?With love we welcome our son, Joseph Frederick Kushner,? she Tweeted.
Baby boy ? who shares a middle name with his cousin Spencer Frederick, the youngest son of Trump?s brother Donald Jr. ? was named after both his parents? paternal grandfathers.
?Jared?s grandfather, Joseph, was a rock. His indomitable spirit, his sense of family, and his work ethic are the values we hope to hand down to our son,? Trump writes.
?My grandfather, Frederick, was a builder not just of tens of thousands of homes throughout this city, but of a tight-knit family that honors to this day the traditions he established. Both men set the standards that have been passed down through the generations and which we hope to impart upon Joseph and Arabella.?
She adds, ?We are honored to name our son after these two distinguished men. We feel so blessed with the newest member of the family!?
Trump and her husband Jared Kushner announced the arrival of their second child on Tuesday, adding that big sister Arabella Rose was busy preparing for his homecoming.
?Arabella is at home with her grandmother practicing her swaddle before her little brother comes home!? Trump Tweeted, sharing a snapshot of the 2-year-old cuddling her bundled up baby doll.
[From People]
That?s very sweet. Does anyone else wonder what Donald Trump is like as grandfather? I think he was probably a largely absent father, but what?s he like as a grandpa? I bet he?s a lot softer than we?re expecting. Not that I?m looking for a reason to have one warm thought about Donald Trump, but I?m just saying ? I bet he adores his grandkids.
Also, we should all look that good after pushing a tiny human out of our vadges. Ivanka has amazing bone structure! The world just hangs off of those cheekbones.

Ivanka Trump has given birth to her second child! Ivanka?s probably already back at work as we speak. Ivanka?s dad Donald Trump announced the news on his Twitter, and all we know is that Ivanka gave birth to a son this time. Her first child (with husband Jared Kushner) was a little girl they named Arabella Rose. Arabella is a little more than two years old now.
It’s a boy! Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, welcomed their second child on Monday, Oct. 14. We just welcomed a beautiful & healthy son into the world,” the jewelry designer and Celebrity Apprentice boardroom judge tweeted at 11:39 p.m. ET. “Jared, Arabella and I couldn’t be happier!”
The couple welcomed their firstborn daughter, Arabella Rose, in July 2011. They have yet to reveal their little boy’s name or share other birth details with fans.
Ivanka’s famous father, Donald Trump, also expressed his joy via Twitter. “My beautiful daughter Ivanka just had a healthy baby boy. Jared and Ivanka are very proud!” the 67-year-old business magnate wrote. “Thanks to all for the wonderful congratulation sent to me on the birth of Ivanka’s little boy – so nice!”
The businesswoman recently opened up about her second pregnancy in the October/November issue of Fit Pregnancy magazine. “I feel amazing. I’ve been fortunate so far with this pregnancy. Thankfully, I never experienced morning sickness, but I did get a wave of fatigue that started at week 15 and went through week 17,” she said. “I can’t complain, because it dissipates so quickly, but waking up exhausted is not a fun feeling.”
The birth of their baby boy comes just 11 days before Ivanka and her husband will celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary. More than 500 guests, including Natalie Portman and Russell Crowe, watched them tie the knot at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, on Oct. 25, 2009.
[From E! News]
Congrats to Ivanka and Jared. I wonder what they?ll name the kid? Will Ivanka recycle the ?Donald? name somewhere? You may role your eyes, but the Trumps do love that name and I could see Ivanka using it as a middle name, like Benjamin Donald Kushner or something. Anyway, we know that Ivanka probably won?t be away from work very long, and that once she goes back to work she?ll be there 16-hours a day. And we also know that she doesn?t let the nannies spoil the kids at all. So? we?ll see. Welcome to the world, Baby Trump-Kushner!

| Ivanka Trump, who works 16 hr days, won't tolerate 'spoiled' or 'bratty' kids | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Ivanka Trump is currently pregnant with her second child. She recently admitted that she works 16 hour days, and that she only sees her two year-old daughter on weekdays in the mornings before she leaves for work and for an hour and 15 minutes in the evening, from 6 to 7:15 before she returns to her office around the corner. As I said in my coverage of that story, I can’t shade her for that. She didn’t present her crazy work schedule as some ideal to live up to, just her own personal choice and she’s been surprisingly candid about it.
In a new interview with US Weekly, Ivanka talks about disciplining her daughter, Arabella, and says that it hasn’t really come up since Arabella is just 2. Ivanka adds that she won’t tolerate Arabella “being spoiled or bratty or having poor manners.” A lot of parents agree.
“She’s really good at telling me I have to share with her. She’s less good about actually sharing back. She offers to share and then when you get close, she pulls it back and says ‘no.’ Particularly when food’s involved.”
“Arabella isn’t even 2, so she hasn’t thrown me the challenges of a teenager . . . but I have a feeling I’m going to be pretty strict. My mother [Ivana Trump] laid down pretty concrete guidelines and the concept of ‘because I said so’ was a totally viable option.”
“The one thing I won’t tolerate is her being spoiled or bratty or having poor manners. That’s one area [in which] I’ll be very strict.”
[From US Weekly]
Well again I can’t fault her for this. I strive to teach my son good manners, and to say “please” and “thank you” and be polite to adults. I would say that you can’t use “spoiled” or “bratty” to describe two year-olds, they’re pretty impulse driven, but she did concede that her daughter is just two. The sharing thing is difficult. I don’t think my son was able to “share” until he was a couple years older than that, although I tried. I think it’s a stage beyond where a two year-old is developmentally. I may not agree with everything Ivanka Trump does or says but she doesn’t act like her way is the only way. She doesn’t proselytize or try to convert people to her way of life. If only more celebrities would realize that the world doesn’t revolve around them and their choices.

According to the NY Post, Ivanka Trump, 31, is pregnant with her second child. Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, welcomed daughter Arabella Rose about two years ago, and she’s spoken of her wish to have more children. She’s also talked about how she regularly works 16 hour days, didn’t intend on taking more than two weeks maternity leave with her last pregnancy, and how she finds it harder to be with her daughter on the weekends than to be in the office. She just made some of those comments to Redbook recently, a href=”http://www.celebitchy.com/290021/ivanka_trump_works_16_hour_days_i_think_it_makes_me_a_better_mom_when_im_home/”>we reported on it last week, so I’m surprised to hear this news. Here’s more:
Donald Trump is set to become a grandfather again ? his daughter Ivanka Trump is pregnant with her second child, sources exclusively tell Page Six. We?re told Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, are delighted that she?s expecting and due in the fall. The source added, ?Ivanka is starting to tell friends and family about her pregnancy.? The couple already have daughter Arabella Rose, who turns 2 in July. Ivanka recently told Forbes that she would ?love to have three children, maybe four.?
[From The NY Post]
I’ll give basically the same response I gave to Ivanka’s interview last week – this is her prerogative. She’s not preaching about the superiority of her way of life, she’s just explaining how she does it. If she wants to have kids and still be a workaholic that’s her choice. Many of you pointed out that men with children regularly work insane hours and that no one ever questions them. Plus, Ivanka’s office is very close to her home/penthouse from what she’s said. If she wants to let her nannies be with the kids most of the time and she’s not fronting like she’s some kind of supermom, then that’s cool with me.
Personally, the longest I’ve ever worked was a 12 hour shift at a gas station when I was college, but that’s much different from the lavish office where Ivanka Trump runs her growing empire. That 12 hour shift was hell. Working from home is much different, and I get to move around and take breaks whenever I want. That’s probably how Ivanka feels about her office, it’s her home away from home except she doesn’t have as many distractions. Congratulations to Ivanka and Jared on their happy news!

Ivanka Trump is on the cover of Redbook’s May issue, and Radar Online has some details of her interview. Ivanka talks about her two year-old daughter, Arabella, and how she tries to balance home and work life. It sounds like she totally prefers to be in the office most of the time instead of at home. Some people are criticizing her for acting like she’s a working mom when she comes from such immense privilege and wealth. If you read her statements carefully, that’s not really what she says. The interviewer brought that up, she admits how hard it is to stay at home with her kid. Ivanka prefers to be at work, and she does that, coming home for just an hour and fifteen minutes on weeknights to give her daughter a bath and put her to bed. Here’s
