At last year?s Grammys, Chris Brown not only won an actual award, but he performed on the awards show to widespread applause and acclaim. Most of the musical professionals didn?t seem to have a problem with him or maybe they had just decided to ?forgive? him for beating the hell out of Rihanna three years earlier. Team Breezy (the crazy, deluded girls who think Chris is God-like) began tweeting crazy stuff about his performance, like he was ?so good? that they would let him beat them. Chris Brown defended himself against the minor Grammys backlash in typical Chris Brown style ? with an ALL CAPS Twitter rant laced with obscenities.
Miranda Lambert was one of the few musical professionals in the audience that night who said anything negative about Brown publicly. She tweeted that night: ?He beat on a girl? not cool that we act like that didn?t happen.? Miranda talked about Chris as an ?abuser? in her concerts too, and not surprisingly, she faced a lot of backlash from those Team Breezy idiots. So when she asked about it during her Redbook interview (she covers the February issue), Miranda handled the situation thoughtfully.
Miranda on the Chris Brown tweet: ?I didn?t feel right about not saying something. The loudmouth that I am, I say what I think. I wanted everyone to know that I don?t agree with the message it?s sending to young women. It?s not okay. At all. To be celebrated after doing something like that. I don?t think it?s right, I never will, and I will stand by what I said till the day that I die.?
Her insecurities: ?I?m insecure about tons of things! I cry onstage once a week, singing The House That Built Me, and I always tell the crowd, ?Don?t tell anyone I was cryin?!? Or Over You, when Blake and I had all that loss in our lives. It was really hard to get up there after we had been to three funerals. [Blake?s] dad died, my childhood best friend passed away, and then my childhood dog, all in two weeks. I went back onstage, and I wasn?t ready, but the crowd just embraced me. I was like, ?Okay, I?m really real. Like, all of this tough-girl image? My walls are down and all these people can see it.? But it was a good moment for me. I just laid it out there, like, ?I?m normal, I?m a girl, I have PMS, and I get emotional, and I?m sad sometimes, and that?s it.? I feel like I got over the hump of trying to be like, ?I have a chip on my shoulder, I?m strong all the time,? you know? Because no one is.?
Being apart from Blake sometimes: ?I love it. This time I hadn?t seen him in 11 days, and he was just so happy when I got here, it was like [she makes an angels-singing voice] ?Ahh, you?re here.? When I go to The Voice set and everyone says, ?Blake?s been talking about you so much,? it just makes me feel special, you know??
She?s the ?mean one? in their relationship: ?I?m more protective. He?s the sweetest guy. Like, he will talk to anyone, sign anything, take a picture with everyone. And if I don?t stop it at some point, it ruins our whole night. I have to be the bad guy. The people are like, ?Oh, God, don?t mess with her, she?ll murder people.??

The only problem I have with what Miranda said is that I wish she wouldn?t couch her completely reasonable objection to Chris Brown with a self-deprecating remark ? ?The loudmouth that I am, I say what I think.? You don?t have to do that, Miranda. You don?t have to insult yourself before you speak your mind! It?s not a ?loudmouth? move to feel like the celebration of Chris Brown by the music industry is gross and tragic and insulting to women.

Stepping out for one of the biggest nights in country music, Miranda Lambert was on hand for the 2012 American Country Awards on Monday (December 10).
The country music superstar looked brilliant on her red carpet arrival in a figure-hugging black-and-silver mini-dress before she grabbed a prime seat inside the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino hosted event.
Aside from feasting her eyes on amazing performances tonight, Miranda is up for awards, including Female Artist of the Year.
The two-hour live music spectacular, which will be hosted by Kristin Chenoweth and Trace Adkins, will offer appearances by Carmen Electra, Scotty McCreery, and LeAnn Rimes, among many others.

Here are some of the fashion photos from last night?s CMA Awards in Nashville. I only watched a few minutes of the live broadcast last night, during commercial breaks of the Rachel Maddow Show (What? Maddow is my Forever Biscuit!). You can see the list of winners and losers here ? from what I gather, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert had a big night, and it increasingly feels like they?re the ?First Couple of Country Music? ? a title which used to belong to Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. Little Big Town, Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney and several other acts walked away with big prizes too.
Miranda Lambert wore Maria Lucia Hohan? I don?t like it. At all. She?s a short girl with curves, but she dresses like she?s a tall girl with no curves. I don?t get it. This dress makes her look stumpy, and I don?t think it?s the right color for her either.
Colbie Caillat looks fantastic. Great black dress, totally wearable. Miranda Lambert might want to try this style.
Here?s Carrie Underwood, who was the co-host of the show (with Brad Paisley). She wore Reem Acra, and it looked like the same kind of pageant dress she always wears. Maybe it?s Carrie who makes all of these dresses look like pageant-wear.
Hayden Panettiere in Georges Chakra Couture. Hayden was there because of cross-promotion for her show Nashville. Connie Britton was there too, we just don?t have those pics. Anyway? I think Hayden looks cute. Kind of a Jazz Age throwback vibe.
Here?s Kellie Pickler in a Pamella Roland. The dress is flattering and Kellie has a great figure. Her hair looks like that because she shaved her head a few months ago in solidarity with a friend who has breast cancer, which is a really sweet and lovely thing to do. Her hair?s in kind of an awkward stage right now, but it?s sort of cute too.

She's one of the most beloved ladies in the genre, and Miranda Lambert was looking fabulous as she arrived for the 2012 CMT Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee on Wednesday (June 6).
The 28-year-old singer was joined by her Pistol Annies bandmates at the Bridgestone Arena venue while preparing for the annual showcase to get underway.
Hosted by Kristen Bell and Toby Keith, this year's CMT Awards find Carrie Underwood sitting as the top nominee with five bids, while Miranda is up for four trophies including Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year for ?Over You? and Group Video of the Year and USA Weekend Breakthrough Video of the Year for The Pistol Annies' ?Hell on Heels?.
Making for quite the entertaining lineup, the show boasts performances from the likes of Miss Underwood, as well as Kenny Chesney, Willie Nelson and Rascal Flatts with Journey.

She's one of the most popular ladies in country music, and Miranda Lambert was chosen to front a feature included in the June 2012 issue of W magazine.
The 28-year-old "Over You" singer donned designer pieces such as a Lyn Devon angora-blend sweater, a Burberry Prorsum beaded-neckline knit top and a Diane von Furstenberg embossed lambskin jacket for the Santiago & Mauricio shot spread lining the pages while talking about everything from her and hubby Blake Shelton's living arrangements to Taylor Swift's impact on country music.

On her and husband Blake Shelton's living arrangements:
?We mostly live at Blake?s, but, if you?re pissed, [my ranch] 10 miles away is far enough. If we have a fight, I can say, ?Go home? or ?I?m going home.???
On her persona:
?The tough-girl thing comes naturally to me. When I started out, I?d only wear jeans and tank tops. No dresses. I didn?t want these dudes in the bars that I was playing to look me up and down because I?m a blonde girl with blue eyes. I wanted to be heard, not seen. That?s how it all started.?
On Taylor Swift's impact on country music :
?Taylor Swift is a pop singer. But she really helped country music. When she hit, I was thinking, Thank God Taylor?s out there to show people we?re not cheesy. Some people still think that country music is twangy and cheesy, and they pigeonhole us. But I thought if they?re looking for Taylor?s videos or songs, they might see or hear other people they like. If her fans are watching for her, they might like me too.?
On women in country music:
?It?s tough for a girl to be a headliner in country music. For instance, I can?t get a sponsor. I love alcohol! You would think a beer company would sponsor me. I?m my own damn sponsor. And I put on my own eyeliner. A woman?s work is never done.?

Miranda Lambert has a feature in the upcoming issue of Self. She shares some sentiments about body image which remind me of what Octavia Spencer has said about these issues. Around Oscar season, Octavia said that “If more women ate, they would be a lot happier.” Octavia also went off on the press for focusing so much on her size and said that the media was sending the wrong message to women. Miranda has some very similar sentiments, but because I’m not as much of a fan I’m not as “Go Miranda” as I would be if someone else were saying it. Is that wrong? She just bugs me for some reason, probably because she seems to pick fights with other celebrities (however warranted) and she maybe homewrecked her way into her current relationship. I do agree with her here. Here’s some of what she said:
?I don?t care about being stick-thin. I don?t want stuff to jiggle. Really skinny actresses make me hungry?I see them and think, Honey, you need to eat! I?m lucky I don?t have to live like that. I feel my best when I?m a toned, not flabby, size 8. Women come up to me and say, ?You?re beautiful and confident, and that makes me feel I can be, too.??
?I asked Blake, ?Dude, why didn?t you tell me I got fat?? He said, ?That would go over like a lead balloon. It?s not my job to tell you you?re fat. It?s my job to tell you you?re beautiful.??
?I absolutely hate exercise. I love it afterward, of course. But my trainer is so nice, I want to do push-ups to please him!?
?I drink Bacardi. My trainer, Bill, approves. I mean, he?d rather me not drink, but that?s not an option.?
The ?Randa-rita?: Bacardi, Crystal Light and a splash of Sprite Zero. ?I have one before a show and a half during. Later, if I want to throw down, I throw down!?
?I always scarf down food after a show. But now, instead of eating a burger, I?ll have a grilled-chicken salad waiting for me. And except for almonds and bananas, I don?t keep snacks on the bus. I don?t want Cheetos anywhere around me.?
?I carry a weapon. I got a death threat a few years ago and was really scared. But I don?t want bodyguards. I am my own security.?
?I?m a small-town girl. When you?re famous, whoever you were before comes out more. So if you were an ass, you?ll be even more of an ass.?
?We eat the meat we kill. Blake and I served it at our wedding! I love it when people are down on me for hunting. If you eat meat at all, I don?t want to hear about it!?
?It?s OK to be fat and lazy sometimes. But eventually you?re, like, Oh crap?I shouldn?t have done that! I gained about 10 pounds over the holidays, and when I got onstage in January, I realized I wasn?t feeling great. I didn?t have the energy or lung capacity I needed. It was a good idea to get strong again.?
?I won?t give up what I enjoy to look perfect. I want to find a happy medium between feeling good about my body and still having a beer and some barbecue.?
?I don?t mind having a big butt. I actually like that about myself.?

I agree with her about hunting. If you eat meat you have nothing to complain about.
I admired Octavia Spencer’s statements on body image, and I like that Miranda has the same opinions. It’s rare to hear someone famous address these issues so bluntly, but we know that Miranda has no problem being blunt. She’s really suited for her husband Blake in that he likes to talk smack too, usually with a few Bacardi and Crystal Lights in him. As for their relationship, Miranda admits that they’re rarely together. She also says she’s threatened him with destroying his trophy deer if he cheats on her. Really. Well “the way you get ‘em…” Here’s that part of her interview:
?Blake and I barely see each other. We got married [last May], and we each had so much travel, it was, like, See you next year! There have been challenges the first year, but we faced them. We?re individuals, but together we?re a force to be reckoned with.?
?I think Blake is a bit scared of me. He says he?s not, but I?ve said, ?If you cheat, I?ll spray-paint all of your trophy deer heads pink.??
Is there trouble in their relationship? I don’t know, but we know Miranda isn’t BSing about it by any means. She’ll tell it like it is. If Blake does ever cheat on her and she finds out, you know she’ll talk about that too in great detail. Blake is probably way more worried about that than his deer heads.

Back in May she got hitched to Blake Shelton, and Miranda Lambert gushed about her hubby?s romantic tendencies during her interview on ?The Talk.?
The 28-year-old country songbird shared that after their wedding, she and Blake decided to just chill out and relax at home during a few rare days off.
But Blake wasn?t content to just let his new wife lounge around the house- he planned a secret getaway to Cancun, Mexico.
Miranda explained, "We drove to a private airport, and I was like, 'Oh, what are you doing? You got a private jet to Cabo???
She continued, "And he was like, 'Actually there's a jet out there waiting.' I was like, 'What?' It was awesome.?

They make up one of the most popular country couples around, and Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton were side by side at the 2011 CMA Awards on Wednesday evening (November 9).
Taking place at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, the musically inclined duo looked happily in love as they posed arm-in-arm while Miss Lambert also took a solo turn in front of the cameras to show off her adorable frock.
Set for what's sure to be a memorable night, Blake finds himself competing for the top prize of Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year while his bride is up for Female Vocalist of the Year honors.
With Miranda also among the illustrious lineup of performers, other acts set to take the CMA Awards stage include Rascal Flatts with Natasha Bedingfield, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Faith Hill, and the show?s hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.

After a year-long engagement, country music stars Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert were married in Texas this weekend. I guess he finally tasted all she’s cookin’ — and in this case, it was venison. According to People Magazine:
The couple exchanged vows Saturday night at the Don Strange Ranch north of San Antonio.
The menu was unique: venison, which the bride harvested herself.
Shelton, 34, proposed last May in the woods near Lambert’s Tishomingo, Okla., home.
I’m sorry — the bride served “venison she’d harvested herself?” Come on. That’s a bit over the top, even for country music stereotypes. They should have gone for something a little more believable, like a wedding dress made of possum skins and rebel flags and a guy in overalls playing the washboard and jug from the bed of a Ford F-150 truck.
