Every year the Academy of Country Music Awards honors the biggest and brightest stars in the business, and for 2015 there are plenty of worthy contenders.
This morning (January 30) the ACM unveiled the list of nominees, with Miranda Lambert landing a total of eight chances for glory.
Along with Lambert, Jason Aldean, Garth Brooks, Florida Georgia Line and Luke Bryan will all compete for the coveted Entertainer of the Year title.
Dierks Bentley will do battle in seven categories including Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year.
The 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards is slated to go live from AT&T Stadium in Texas on April 19th. And the nominees are?

She?s had a banner year with a hit album and sold-out tour so Miranda Lambert t has plenty of smile about going into the New Year. The ?Only Prettier? songstress is on the cover of Marie Claire's January 2015 edition and it?s safe to say she looks hotter than ever.
Miranda explained that she always stays true to who she is by writing and performing her own material. ?Early on, an artist told me, ?Don?t be yourself. Perform and be someone else. And I thought, ?That seems like exactly the opposite of what I should be doing.? Then I had people wanting me to adjust my lyrics to be more appealing to the masses or whatever. I said, ?No, that?s bullsh*t.? I?d rather sell four copies of something that?s real than 4 million copies of something that?s fake.?
Ms. Lambert also sang the praises of husband Blake Shelton- ?I?m not sunshine and roses. Blake?s the happiest person on the planet. He pulls me out of my darkness? Literally everything is the best about being married.?
And she recently lost 20 pounds to get into the best shape of her life- ?When you have to walk out there in front of thousands of people, it does feel good to know that your sh*t?s not jiggling. I?m just like anybody else, insecure and scared of looking bad or being criticized. But everybody?s making this big, giant thing about it. It?s way too much focus on women?s bikini photos, and I hate it. Why do we care? I want women to love themselves whatever they?ve got going on.?

Here are some photos of the first couple of country music, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert. The tabloids have gotten out of the habit of claiming that Blake and Miranda?s marriage is on the rocks, but I take no consolation in that. I do think their marriage is as rocky as it seems. I also believe Miranda tries to keep Blake on a short leash, but Blake does what he wants. Still, I guess it?s nice to see them walk the CMA Awards red carpet together. The CMAs were last night in Nashville. Miranda?s red carpet look was a pale Pink Bibhu Mohapatra Spring 2014 gown with jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz. The dress reminds me of the kinds of gowns Taylor Swift used to wear ? I mean, it?s pretty but I feel like it?s too ?young? for Miranda.
Miranda was a big winner last night. She picked up awards for Single of the Year (?Automatic?), Album of the Year (Platinum) and Female Vocalist of the Year (she beat Taylor Swift, ha). Blake won Male Vocalist of the year. You can see the full list of winners here.
Miranda changed her outfit twice within the ceremony. This black number with the sleek hair was her second performance look. I did a double take because she suddenly looked SO MUCH like Britney Spears. Right? I mean, she looks good, don?t get me wrong! Miranda has lost a lot of weight in the past year, but I?m glad to see that she doesn?t look like she?s still crash-dieting or whatever. She looks healthier now. But if I was styling her? I would tell her never to straighten her hair because it looks too much like Britney.
By Celebitchy: Earlier in the night Miranda wore this blue fit and flare dress to perform “All About That Bass” with Meghan Trainor. It was a cute dress, but the boob cutaway was a bit bizarre.

There’s a lot of change happening for Miranda Lambert, 30, lately. She lost a noticeable amount of weight over the past few months to the point where some people wondered whether she’d gone too far. Now Miranda has cut her very long hair into a bob with side bangs. She showed off the new look at a retro-themed party for her album, Platinum, and her top-of-the-charts single, Automatic. These photos are from that event. It looks fun!
US Weekly clarifies that Miranda didn’t get this new haircut just now, she merely removed the extensions after getting it chopped last month:
In early June, she showed off shoulder-length hair before adding in extensions for promotional appearances later in the month. “I cut her hair three weeks ago before the CMT Awards and CMA Fest,” Lee Wright, stylist at Style House in Nasvhille, tells Us Weekly. “She was ready for a change. But she wanted to wear extensions for her performance.” The length of her newest haircut is the shortest as it falls just below her ears.

I’m honestly surprised at how different she looks. She was looking incredibly glam lately and this cut gives her a kind of “everywoman” look. I’m trying to be gentle because I don’t like it at all, but maybe she’ll add extensions again or style it differently. It’s a little too “puffy” to me and I think it ages her.
Miranda did an interview with Huffpo last week where she talked about her weight loss (everyone asks) and about her relationship with her husband, Blake Shelton. She also said that she’s into shooting guns and that her father, a police officer, taught her gun safety from an early age. I particularly liked Miranda’s thoughts on body image. When the interviewer brought up the subject of role models, Miranda said “I just am who I am… I may be a good role model because I just am always positive about body image: Just be who you are. It doesn’t matter what size, it’s all about who you are on the inside and what you stand for.” (You can see a clip of that interview on Huffpo.)
So maybe Miranda is not so caught up in her image, but I tend to think this hairstyle isn’t ‘her.’ She’s always had lots of big hair. This is definitely a change for her.

Ahead of her anticipated performance, Miranda Lambert walked the red carpet at the 2014 CMT Awards tonight (June 4).
Showing some love to her loyal fans, the ?Automatic? star took time to pose for pictures and greet spectators outside Nashville?s Sommet Center before scurrying inside so as not to miss a moment of the action.
The CMT Music Awards is the only show of its kind where the winners are determined by fan voting and competition is always pretty fierce.
This time around, Kristen Bell is manning the hosting duties and performers include Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan, Keith Urban and Lady Antebellum.

Miranda Lambert covers Rolling Stone’s June 19 Country Issue in one of two covers, the other with Eric Church. (I would think that Blake Shelton would take the other cover, but he doesn’t have an album out this year.) On the cover, Miranda wears a pair of cutoff shorts and a white tank top, accessorized with subtle turquoise jewelry. I appreciate the fact that her ass and/or tits aren’t hanging out. Our advertisers are conservative about nudity, and we’ve have to pass on Rolling Stone covers because the female subjects are showing too much. (See: Rihanna and Katy Perry)
Miranda looks great, she looks much different after her weight loss and she’s showing it off without resorting to lingerie or cutoffs so tiny we can see her butt cheeks. So far all Rolling Stone has released is a brief excerpt from their article, in which Miranda gushes about Beyonce and Blake Shelton confirms his wife’s bar fight with Chad Kroeger of Nickelback. Remember that story? On her 27th birthday, in 2010 at a bar in Nashville, Miranda reportedly threw a drink in Chad’s face. Guess we know that happened:
When she’s not fussing over their menagerie of animals, fishing or planning on castrating bulls, Lambert tells RS about her obsession with Beyonc. “She’s a girl from Houston, and she worked her butt off to get where she is,” she says. “She’s not just being carted around on her chariot; she’s driving it.” She reveals she got a crash course in how to write a country song by paying close attention to her parents, who opened a detective agency called upon to investigate Bill Clinton for Paula Jones’ sexual-harassment case, and chatted openly about who was drinking, who was cheating and who shot whom at the dinner table.
She also opens up about life as one-half of country music’s hottest couple. “It was pretty instantaneous,” she says of their rocket to ber-fame. “One day we were country singers, and the next we’re on the front of the tabloids. I’m, like, really magical. I’ve been pregnant for two and a half years.” Shelton confirms that when Lambert gets heated enough, she will get into a bar fight. “People always try to pop off or call her bluff at bars,” he admits. “One of them I don’t want to say the guy’s name, but he’s the lead singer of a very popular rock band. His initials are C.K.” (He’s referring to Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger.)

This is Miranda and Blake’s default response to gossip about trouble in their marriage: they focus on the most ridiculous aspects of the coverage. Maybe that’s their way of dealing with it, just joking about it, and it helps them put it in perspective. To me it means they’re not denying it directly, but that’s not their style I guess.
Miranda also covers the June/July issue of Cowgirl magazine, which I’ve never heard of until I went into a Tractor Supply store yesterday to look for bird houses. She’s promoting her new album, Platinum, which came out yesterday and is getting positive reviews. They have a new interview with Miranda and she gives some personal information but it’s not highly quotable. Miranda says that her “perfect girlfriend getaway” is “a weekend at the Kentucky Derby,” and that on the weekends at home she loves “playing with my dogs, riding my horse, cooking and hanging out with my family and watching TV.” She loves “being outdoors and connecting with my animals.” She loves hunting too, and not just for meat. Just saying.

Here’s some more fashion from last night’s Billboard Music Awards, you can see our other coverage here. First off we have Miranda Lambert in a bright Pink George Hobeika Signature sheath dress. The dress featured a mesh front panel that showed significant cleavage. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a celebrity have as much of a makeover and image change as Miranda Lambert has over the past few months. She lost weight, glammed it up and looks much different. As far as I can tell she went solo last night, except for hanging out with Carrie Underwood. Carrie and Miranda debuted their duet, “Something Bad,” last night. You can see their performance here. Miranda’s weight loss made me wonder if she’s having issues in her marriage with Blake Shelton, as we’ve heard for years. Now that I see her performing with Carrie Underwood I wonder whether that duet was an impetus to her to slim down.
Miranda may look gorgeous, but this dress is a little understated for the event. I would have liked to see her in something more interesting and funky. It’s more of a cocktail dress and the shoes are very plain.
Shania Twain was similarly boring in a full length, full sleeve black gown with netting around the arms, neckline and skirt. Shania often gets it spectacularly wrong, so at least this 90s dress isn’t a catastrophe. She needs a new colorist, those highlights are bad.
In contrast we have Sarah Hyland of Modern Family in a sequin Emilio Pucci jacket and skirt. I can’t decide whether I like it or not. My instinct is to say it’s fug and overdone but there’s something bold and fun about it. Maybe this would work better without the jacket. It’s all very matchy. I do like her styling and her hairstyle is very cute. I like the trend of tucking and styling hair to get the look of an extreme style without the commitment.
Lucy Hale was in a bright colorblocked tea length dress. I like this dress a lot and think it’s a very nice mix of young and playful yet dressy. Her wavy, sideswept hair is so pretty and her makeup is perfection. Overall this is a great look.
Jordin Sparks got it right, in my opinion, in a black tight Michael Costello dress featuring diagonal lines of sequins. I love the contemporary look of this gown and the tapered neckline is awesome. This is a great dress. Her hair is excellent in braids and she brightened it up with a yellow purse and red drop earrings.

Here are some more photos from last night?s Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas ? you can see the list of winners here. I only care about the fashion! Miranda Lambert wore this nude Randi Rahm on the red carpet, but changed into a brighter little dress later (I don?t have the ID on that one). The nude gown? eh. She?s lost weight and she looks beautiful, and her styling is especially good here. But I get a weird feeling about Miranda and Blake Shelton. Honestly ? I?m not trying to set off the Blaranda loonies. It feels like Miranda is feeling particularly pinched.
Here?s Carrie Underwood in Oscar de la Renta. I usually don?t care for Carrie?s style whatsoever ? she has the ability to turn couture into pageant-wear. But I am strangely enchanted by this dress. That?s not just a cool swooping design on the gown ? that?s actually metallic fringe. If she danced or moved whatsoever, the fringe would shake and you could see it better. Unfortunately, she stood stock-still in all of these photos. My verdict? It?s pretty and I sort of like it? on her. For Carrie, it?s a decent look.
Jewel in Edition by Georges Chakra. My god, this is awful. Terrible dress, it doesn?t fit her, her styling is bad, the whole look is just a mess. Also: BOOBS. Are they real? I seem to remember that Jewel has always been rather busty, so I think they?re real. They just look fake because they?re being squished.

Bringing her vocal stylings to an impressive stage, Miranda Lambert performed at the 49th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night (April 6).
The blonde beauty belted out her hit "Automatic" at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas after she took home the prize for Single Record of the Year for her song "Mama's Broken Heart."
As for the Entertainer of the Year award, Miranda is up for the prize along with Luke Bryan, her hubby Blake Shelton, George Strait and Taylor Swift.
