Recently returned to the States after working on a new movie called "Dark Tide" overseas, Halle Berry was looking lovely as she stepped out in New York City on Friday night (September 10).
The Oscar-winning actress turned up at the Ralph Lauren celebration of Fashion's Night Out which was held at Ralph Lauren Mansion.
On the career end of things, Halle has recently been rumored to be taking on the starring role in a new Aretha Franklin biopic.
In a press release, Miss Franklin said that she is "enthusiastic about the project and [selected persons] have agreed to take on these roles, subject to further negotiation."
Along with Halle, Aretha picked Denzel Washington to play her father C.L. Franklin while also voicing her desire to see Terrence Howard portray Motown star Smokey Robinson.

You heard it here first! Not really. But now it?s totally on, and it?s confirmed by photo evidence. Halle Berry is totally hitting it with her Dark Tide costar Olivier Martinez. A few weeks ago, the tabloids were saying that Halle was/is ?torn between two lovers? - Olivier and Gabriel Aubry. But now it?s looking like Halle is just boning Olivier. People Magazine has a blurry, grainy photo of Halle kissing Olivier, and it looks hot as hell. There are just some people? when they couple up, I just have a thought of ?Yeah, I would watch their sex tape.? This is one of those times.
The City of Lights has become the City of Love for Halle Berry.
Berry, 44, has been spotted cozying up to her Dark Tide costar Olivier Martinez, 44, in his hometown of Paris. The two have been seen smooching and exploring the city, embracing a Hollywood-style romance straight out of a movie.
“It was the classic ‘I’m going to kiss you here in a dark corner’ move,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE of Berry and Martinez’s romantic romp. “And she was waiting to be kissed.”
The duo spent Sunday afternoon combing through the streets arm in arm, taking in a pit stop at the Paris flea market.
“They had their arms around each other as they walked,” an onlooker tells PEOPLE. “They were both smiling and laughing Their body language was very flirtatious. They definitely seemed like a couple ? absolutely looked like more than friends.”
The two sped off on Martinez’s motorcycle before dining at the intimate Casa Bini restaurant. After dinner, Martinez led Berry on a cozy back-streets tour of the St. Germain district at dusk, including Place Saint-Sulpice and its fountain. En route to his Paris pad, the couple stopped along a narrow street and kissed in a doorway for two minutes, says an onlooker.
[From People]
Oh, it?s on, bitches. I know Halle is weird and f-cked up about men, but I admire the girl?s taste. There are much worse pieces for her to be all up on than Olivier. Sure, his prime was past several years ago, but he?s still fine, and yes, I would still hit it until that RatFace couldn?t handle it anymore. Bless Halle?s heart. You know that sex is dirty as hell.

They?ve been working together on ?Dark Tide? for awhile now, and it seems Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are striking up an off-screen romance.
The ?Monster?s Ball? babe and the ?Unfaithful? stud were spotted locking lips while out in Paris, France recently.
An onlooker told press, ?It was the classic, ?I?m going to kiss you here in a dark corner,? move. And she was waiting to be kissed.?

Have you heard the one about Halle Berry being pregnant again? That rumor is going around because there are some recent photos of Halle looking a little roundish in her midsection, and now some sources are claiming that she and Gabriel Aubry are getting back together, because of course the baby is his right? I mean, it?s not like they broke up months before we actually heard about their split and it?s not like Halle wasn?t already getting some action post-split, right? Oh, wait. And beyond that, Halle just has a little belly - seriously, people are always calling Bump Watch on her, and it never pans out.
Next up: the alleged Gabriel Aubry reunion, and Halle being ?torn? between two lovers. That?s right, The National Enquirer is trying to create a love triangle based on photo evidence from Halle?s new movie, which is filming in South Africa and Europe. The other player in the love triangle? Halle?s costar, Olivier Martinez. Now, I?ve always thought that Olivier is the kind of dude who would f-ck you and then go hit on your mom. So I?ll buy that he was trying to get with Halle, and I wouldn?t blame her for breaking off a piece, just for fun. But I doubt this whole scenario:
Halle Berry is grappling with a love dilemma - and she?s being pursued by Olivier Martinez and Gabriel Aubry.
?Olivier is desperately trying to work his way into her heart,? an insider told the Enquirer. But Halle had already invited Gabriel on location with her during filming, so he could care for their daughter.
?Halle really likes Olivier, and he?s been coming on to her big-time,? confided the source. ?But Gabriel has sensed something is up, and he?s often on the set, trying to keep Halle and Olivier apart.?
?Halle doesn?t know whether to keep trying with Gabriel or give it up for Olivier because he?s sexy, smart and mature.? Her dashing costar has ?poured on the charm and compliments and told Halle she is the sexiest woman he?s ever met. They?ve been spotted hugging and holding hands in between takes. And they?re been hanging out off set, too.?
Meanwhile, Gabriel is ?steaming with jealousy,? according to the source. ?He can see that she is falling for Olivier.?
[From The National Enquirer, print edition]
Of course it?s awkward when your ex is spending all day with your kid and then you get home from work and you?re like, ?Is the baby asleep?? and he?s like ?Yeah, I just put her down, and I was about to open a bottle a wine-? and you interrupt him to say, ?Good for you, hope you don?t get too drunk, because I?m about to go out and GET LAID.? I buy that Olivier is laying on the charm too - he probably wants Halle as another notch on his proverbial bedpost. Plus, she?s gorgeous and why not? Survey says: Olivier and Halle are boning.

Continuing work on her new project, Halle Berry was spotted on the set of ?Dark Tide? yesterday afternoon (August 16).
The ?Monster?s Ball? babe looked to be a bit overwhelmed as she made her way onto a dock after her boat broke down while shooting scenes in Hout Bay, Cape Town, South Africa.
And though she?s been spending all kinds of time on the set with her handsome costar Olivier Martinez, rumors of an off-screen romance are completely unfounded.
According to Gossip Cop, any reports that Halle and Olivier are participating in extra-curricular hooking up are just tabloid attempts to sell issues.

| Halle Berry talks extensively to Vogue about her work with abused women | Added 14 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Yesterday, I only covered the cover of the September issue of Vogue, with cover girl Halle Berry, plus some advance excerpts courtesy of USA Today. Finally, the full interview was released (read it here at Vogue), plus we were sent these beautiful hi-res images from the Mario Testino shoot. I actually love the shoot, although I do think Halle is looking a bit overly Photoshopped in a couple. She?s a gorgeous woman with gorgeous, nearly-flawless skin, but it doesn?t looks that untouchably alien-like beautiful, for real. Have you ever heard the theory that a person?s favorite season is the season they were born into? I believe that - I was born in September, and my favorite time of the year is early fall. So I love that Vogue went for deep, autumnal colors, instead of the overly bleached images they were using for the summer months (Gwyneth Paltrow?s photo shoot made my eyes twitch with all of the whiteness).
Anyway, the interview: most of Halle?s most tabloid-friendly quotes were covered yesterday, but there were a some more choice bits that I wanted to show you. Halle is not doing this profile to promote a movie. She spends the bulk of the article discussing her work with The Jenesse Center, which is a charity that deals with abused women and children. Halle has been working with the center for ten years. I?ll admit, Halle is extremely genuine and forthright in this piece, and she brought tears to my eyes.
Does Halle have any regrets about over-sharing in the past? “No,” she says. “I don’t regret it. When you share like that, it helps a lot of people, it connects you to a lot of people, but I do think I should have the right to move on.”
She works out with a personal trainer five days a week: Berry works out so much because she has diabetes, and she weaned herself off insulin a while back. “I do not love to work out,” she says, “but if I stick to exercising every day and put the right things in my mouth, then my diabetes just stays in check.” She probably sees Peterson more than most anyone else these days; they live on the same street in Beverly Hills, and they are also in the process of developing a unisex sports drink for GNC, something “sustainable and light and not a gimmick,” she says.
Halle explaining her work with The Jenesse Center in South L.A.: The Jenesse Center provides, among other things, transitional housing?safe houses?for women and their children when they finally leave their abusive husbands or boyfriends. How did you get involved? I ask. It turns out that after her infamous car accident of 2000, in which she inexplicably left the scene, her sentence was, she says, “a $15,000 fine, three years’ probation, and 250 hours” of community service. “They gave me a list of charities that I could choose from. I searched my heart for what would be meaningful to me. Domestic violence is important to me because I grew up with it; my mother was a victim of domestic violence. And I saw the Jenesse Center, the oldest domestic-violence center in South L.A., and I thought, That’s where I want to go.” What she didn’t know was that she would wind up staying for nearly ten years. “Outside of being the mother of Nahla,” she says, “it’s the most meaningful thing that I do.”
Halle has a lot of art pieces in her home: There is also surprising art: mostly modern painting and sculpture, a lot of it of a sexual nature. In her living room there is a very tall statue by Curt Brill of a naked woman looking out to sea. “I love the naked female form,” she says. “I just feel like that’s the most empowered position you can be in. She is standing tall in all her nakedness, and she is just commanding the room. Everything revolves around her in the house. I love it.”
Halle takes the reporter to ?the ?hood?: The next morning, Berry picks me up and we drive to the Jenesse Center. When I ask where we are, she says, “We in the ‘hood,” and then adds, “This is the good part of the ‘hood. There are much scarier ‘hoods.” We drive past the Debbie Allen dance studios; a few blocks later, on Crenshaw Boulevard, Berry points out a big modern building and says, “Everybody in town goes to that church,” by which she means Denzel Washington, Magic Johnson, and the rest of churchgoing black Hollywood. When I mention a gay black nightclub not far from here, Berry lights up. “I go there with Cliff on Halloween.” (Berry dresses up every year in a way that I am not allowed to describe except to say that her costume completely obscures her face. “It’s one of the funniest things we do,” she says. “Total anonymity. I just let it all go, get wild, lose my mind. It’s great.”) It is clear, in other words, that while Berry may live in Beverly Hills and Malibu, she is entirely at home in this part of town.
This part made me cry: When we walk into the building, there are more hugs and good vibes from staffers and women and children as Berry shows me her pride and joy: a small one-bedroom apartment that she has, with the help of some friends, renovated into a playroom, a place where children can get new clothes, make art, and have therapy?as she did when she was a ten-year-old coping with an abusive, alcoholic father. The space is beautiful. It is called Nahla’s World. On a wall near the door there are two tiny handprints in colored paint?her daughter’s signature. “The last day we were here when we were finishing up this room,” Berry says, “Nahla came and spent the whole day playing outside with all these kids for hours. She cried when I had to take her home.” Berry and her team have pledged to renovate fifteen apartments by next April. “Because of my mother’s and my experience, I understand fundamentally what these women and kids are going through. And I think that’s why my heart is so in it.”
On Gabriel Aubry: “By the time [the breakup] hit the papers?full of rumors and lies, with people having to make up problems between us?Gabriel and I had long dealt with it. We were done. And we were on a good foot, and we had decided what we were going to do for Nahla, and we were able to say, ‘This will pass.’ [And it did?] In two weeks! Because there was no truth to any of it. There is no discord, there is no fighting. So it came and went. Now we are back to how it was before: living apart, raising our daughter? We have always been friends, we’re still friends, we love each other very much, and we both share the love of our lives. And we are both 100 percent committed to being the best parents we can be. And while it was not a love connection for us, he was absolutely the right person to have this child with because she is going to have an amazing father. And that was really important to me. We’ll make sure we always do what is right for her and put her first. And she will see as she grows that we have a lot of love for each other.”
Halle?s wisdom: “It’s about accepting who we really are, not who we want to be. As much as I have always wanted to be in this committed relationship and have the picket fence and grow old with the same person, I’m coming to terms with: Maybe that’s just not who I am.” What is clear is that she has found “the love of her life” with her daughter. “If anything was missing, it was that.”
[From Vogue]
See? It?s a good piece. I like Halle so much more after reading this, and I already liked her. Her work with The Jenesse Center is admirable, and I like how she discusses involving Nahla in the work, and that whole part about the kids? apartment just made me cry a little. Okay, maybe I?m PMSing and hyper-emotional. But it?s a good piece, right?

| Halle Berry looks Cleopatra-esque for Vogue Mag's September issue | Added 14 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?d read that Halle Berry was going to make her only her second appearance ever on the cover of Vogue, this time for the September issue, and here it is! Um? her hair, right? Otherwise, it?s a gorgeous shot, done by Mario Testino, of course. Okay, maybe the whole thing is a little Cleopatra, but still: YAY. I?m so happy it?s not someone like Sienna Miller or Keira Knightley. USA Today had some exclusive excerpts from Halle?s interview:
When you’re Halle Berry, you talk when you want to talk. And after a long-standing silence, the Academy Award-winning actress has opened up to writer Jonathan Van Meter in the September issue of Vogue (on newsstands nationwide Aug. 24). Berry, 43, chats about being a mom to 2-year-old daughter Nahla and her split with Nahla’s father, Gabriel Aubry. USA TODAY highlights Berry’s best bits.
On why she hasn’t given a lengthy interview in three years: “I was burned-out with having other people tell the story about me they wanted to tell. I told my publicist, ‘I’m not going to talk anymore. I’m just going to live my life and be who I am.’ ”
Why she’s talking now: “What (being on the cover of the September Vogue) means for a woman of color and what that means in the fashion world, what that means to pop culture, there was no way I could say, ‘No, I’m not going to be on the biggest issue of the year.’ ”
On her breakup with Aubry: “It’s just that you realize you are not meant to go the distance with everybody. ? We were meant to bring this amazing little person into the world. And I think that’s why we came together. And because of that, we are going to be together forever, all three of us.”
Does her no-more-marriage stance still stand? “Yes. I’m not done with love, but I refuse to settle. I am a hopeless romantic. And I won’t stop till I get it right. ? I don’t think I’m unlike a lot of people. I am just someone who is trying to find that mate, and I think it’s a really hard thing to do. And I’m not willing to stay somewhere where I am really not happy. And I am not willing to pretend I am for the kid’s sake or so that I don’t have to go through another public humiliation.”
Why she thinks ‘nature has got it all wrong’: “When you are younger, it should be harder to get pregnant, and as you get older, it should be easier. When you are so ready, you can’t do it to save your life. And when you are 21, you are so not ready, but you are ripe as could be. The eggs should become more developed the older you get, not die slowly from the day you’re born. That’s one thing God got wrong.”
On asking Nahla to say Berry’s name in case she ever got lost: “She thought about it for a second, and finally she said, ‘Halle Blueberries!’ Blueberries are her favorite fruit. ? I’m just glad she didn’t say ‘Halle Blackberry.’ ”
On being comfortable with her sexuality: “That comes with age ? I’ve been slowly getting there. If the world wouldn’t persecute me, I’d take nude pictures every day of the week.”
On the so-called Oscar curse: “People win Oscars, and then it seems like they fall off the planet. And that’s partly because a huge expectation walks in the room and sits right down on top of your head. The moment I won the Oscar, I felt the teardown the very next day. I thought, if I’m going down, I’m going down taking chances and daring to risk. Hence ?Catwoman.”
On the biggest misconception people have about her: “That I am this brooding, twisted, lovesick person who just can’t get it right in life. Every story about me is so heavy and dramatic. That’s not how I do life. But that’s the impression people have, and that’s what keeps getting reiterated. As if I’m still stuck in all the muck of the past. And I am so not.”
[From USA Today]
Who the f-ck is persecuting Halle for taking nude photos?!? Isn?t that an issue that every man and woman can agree on? That there should be more naked photos of Halle in general? Regarding her comments on Gabriel and love and all? I actually like what she said. I still think she?s ?f-cked up about men? (my mom?s words), but I also think she?s grown a lot and she?s taken the time to examine herself and how she really feels about relationships and all. My only quibble is that I wouldn?t call her a ?romantic?. I think she sounds very jaded and a touch pessimistic. But you know what they say about pessimism - it?s just optimism that got disappointed.

Teaming of for the good of their precious daughter, Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry put their differences aside to travel to South Africa on Saturday (July 24).
The former couple was spotted with Nahla as they made their way out of an SUV and through the crowded LAX Airport terminal ahead of the outbound overseas flight.
As for the reason behind the South African trip, Miss Berry is readying to work on a new movie called "Dark Tide" and needed Gabriel along if she wanted to take Nahla during the shoot.
The insider previously told press, "Halle and Gabriel are being civil and making it work purely for the sake of Nahla. Gabriel is moving to South Africa because they couldn't work out who should have custody of Nahla while Halle was working there."
The source added, "In the end they decided it would work best if Gabriel went with her and then they could both be with Nahla. There's no chance of them getting back together though, it is definitely over between them. All they are concerned about now is the welfare of their daughter. They both love her more than anything and will do all they can to keep her happy."
