He?s no stranger to the red carpet, and last night (December 14) Matt Damon was spotted at the New York City premiere of his new flick ?True Grit.?
The ?Bourne Identity? stud looked fit and fabulous in a dark suit with a striped tie and a pair of stylish spectacles as he posed with his wife Luciana.
In the film, Matt plays a man who joins up with a stubborn young woman and a tough US Marshal to hunt down a murderer.
And while a few lucky insiders got to see it last night, the rest of us will have to wait until December 22nd when ?True Grit? hits theaters.

Everybody will probably end up seeing the Coen Brothers? remake of True Grit because, well, it stars Jeff Bridges and Josh Brolin and Matt Damon, and for goodness sake, it?s a Coen Brothers? western! Why not? But that doesn?t mean True Grit is a big awards contender - they got shut out of the Globes, but they?ll probably end up with some critics awards and bigger nominations for the guild awards and maybe even some Oscars. We?ll see. Anyway, last night was the big NYC premiere for the film, and the only star missing was Josh Brolin (boo). These are some photos of Matt Damon and his wife Luciana (Lucy), who just gave birth, like, six weeks ago. So cut her a break, you know? She?s over this junk, and Matt clearly adores her, so let?s tone down the ?she hasn?t lost the baby weight!? stuff. Personally, I think they look really sweet together.
A little Jeff Bridges, for fun:
Jena Malone walked the red carpet too - she?s not in the movie, so I?m not sure why, other than she just wanted to see the film. Anyway, I just wanted to ask - what?s going on with her? Why is she so drastically thin?

He?s now the proud papa to four girls, and Matt Damon has high hopes for his ladies as they grow up.
The ?Bourne Identity? stud told People magazine, "If I had a bucket list, I'd say raising my four girls to be strong, good women would be No. 1."
"I think what's important for kids to know is that your decisions here on earth matter, your behavior matters, and how you treat other people matters.?
"It matters here and I'm hoping that it matters in the afterlife, too. It just comes down to accountability for your own behavior that's important. So whenever I talk to my own kids or whenever they ask, I try and put the hereafter in kind of an ethical framework."

Matt Damon and Luciana have welcomed their third daughter together! Lucy gave birth on Wednesday (!) and they just released the birth announcement on Saturday. Damn, Matt really keeps his life private, doesn?t he? There were no reports, to my knowledge, about the two of them even entering a hospital. Anyway, as previously reported (when Matt acknowledged it on the red carpet), it was another girl, their third together, although they have a fourth daughter who Matt is a step-father to, and who he treats as his own flesh-and-blood. Lucy and Matt named their baby girl Stella, and Stella joins big sisters Alexa, Isabella and Gia. Lots of ?ends in -a? names, correct?
Matt Damon and his wife Luciana have their hands full.
The couple, already raising three children, welcomed a girl, Stella Zavala Damon, who was born on Wednesday in New York.
“Mom and baby are both healthy,” Damon’s rep tells PEOPLE. “The whole family is thrilled.”
Damon, who turned 40 earlier this month, and Luciana, 35, wed in 2005 and have two children together ? Isabella, 4, and Gia, 2. Luciana also has a daughter, Alexa, from a previous marriage.
Damon currently stars in Hereafter, which opened wide on Friday.

My name ends in ?a? (my REAL name), so I have some love for that system. It does seem a little strange that they would use that system for every single girl though. What about an Elizabeth? A Harper? A Karen? Even mix it up with the middle names. But no, every little girl deserves a name straight out of a Harlequin romance. Stella especially is over-played in Hollywood circles, because of famed acting coach Stella Adler. And because Stella means ?star? - which seems a little on the nose. Anyway, enough bitching. Congratulations to Matt and Lucy, and the whole gang of women. This is Matt’s last time around with a newborn!

Bringing another female into the family, Matt Damon and his wife Luciana are the proud parents of a newborn baby girl.
The "Invictus" actor proudly accompanied his lovely lady to the hospital as she gave birth to daughter Stella Zavala Damon on Wednesday in New York.
Announcing the news, Damon's rep said, "Mom and baby are both healthy. The whole family is thrilled."
Stella joins three older sisters, as Matt and Luciana are already parents to Isabella, 4, and Gia, 2, as well as Luciana's daughter Alexia from a previous marriage.

| Matt Damon on turning 40 and facing his own mortality | Added 14 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Matt Damon has a new interview in Parade Magazine promoting his new Clint Eastwood film, Hereafter, out in the US today. Damon stars as a reluctant psychic helping people contact their departed loved ones. With Parade, Damon talks about his goals in life and how having children has made him confront his own mortality. He’s currently expecting his third biological child with his wife, Luciana. Luciana also has a daughter from her first marriage and is about to have her fourth girl!
He touches on a lot of subjects, including the reboot of the Bourne series without his involvement, which he admits finding out about on the Internet. When Damon answers questions about whether he believes in paranormal phenomenon like mediumship you can tell that he doesn’t but that he’s trying to remain open to it for the sake of his role. It sounds like he did the film out of respect for director Clint Eastwood, with whom he’s worked in the past.
Talking with the dead.
“I’ve never met anyone with the power, but I do believe that it is possible. I’m open to that idea. I don’t know that I’d go to a sance, but who knows? If I got a recommendation from somebody I trusted like, ‘You should go to this guy’s sance because he really seems legit…’ What the hell? I’d probably check it out.”
Facing the grim reaper.
“I do contemplate my own mortality. Whenever you lose people, it’s something you think about a lot and having kids is another thing that makes you give it some thought. Like most people, I’ve dealt with death, starting with my grandfather and then various friends, and it came in various ways, expected and unexpected. There’s nothing we can do. We all gotta get there at some point. But, I sure am curious about what’s next. I’m hopeful, too. That’s about all I can say. Who knows? Maybe the light just goes out, but we’ll all find out.”
What he tells his kids.
“I think what’s important for kids to know is that your decisions here on earth matter, your behavior matters, and how you treat other people matters. It matters here and I’m hoping that it matters in the afterlife, too. It just comes down to accountability for your own behavior that’s important. So whenever I talk to my own kids or whenever they ask, I try and put the hereafter in kind of an ethical framework. If I had a bucket list, I’d say raising my four girls to be strong, good women would be number one.”
The family is big enough.
“My wife is about to have our fourth kid and we’ve drawn a line in the sand. This is it. Our lives are full and wonderful and we’re done having kids. Lucy is in her third trimester for the fourth time and I think that’s about enough to ask of any woman. I don’t want to turn her into Ethel Kennedy.”
The second time around with Clint.
“He called me and I was terrified at first that I wouldn’t be able to do it because I was doing another film. That was heartbreaking. But, it all worked out because he shot a lot of the movie without me and then I did my scenes at the end. He’s such an incredible person to work for because he’s just so calm and he creates a really nice atmosphere and everyone feels really privileged to be working with him. The amazing thing is how fast he works. He can knock off a bunch of shots in a couple of hours that would take another director a whole day.”
Passing the big four-oh.
“My birthday was just a few weeks ago. We had my family, a bunch of my friends and we rented the back room in a bowling alley and had a big party. It was fun. But I have to tell you, 40 feels a lot like 39.”
Farewell to Bourne.
“I found out they’re making another when somebody saw it on the Internet. Nobody bothered to call me. I’m not in it, but even so, they’ll work Bourne into the title I guess. Universal just wants to call everything the Bourne something. So I guess they are trying to make another franchise and as they say, ‘It isn’t over until it’s over.’”
[From Parade]
I love reading and seeing interviews with Damon because he’s such an interesting thoughtful guy that doesn’t pull any punches. Occasionally that gets him into trouble, but he’s really mellowed lately and seems to adore his wife and family. It’s been a pleasure to follow his career and I look forward to seeing what’s next for him.
Hereafter looks intense and somewhat manipulative in that it portrays the recent Tsunami and London bombing tragedies in a melodramatic way. The trailer got me all welled up, and then I read this account on Gawker, in which they mildly call out the film for toying with our emotions. We’ll have to see how it does with critics and at the box office, and if Damon’s role garners attention during awards season.

Making an appearance on CBS?s ?The Early Show,? Matt Damon was spotted earlier this morning (October 13) at the program's studios in New York City.
The ?Bourne Ultimatum? stud looked dapper in a black suit and glasses while joined by Clint Eastwood for "Hereafter" promotions.
Opening up about his soon-to-arrive baby girl, Damon told In Touch earlier in the week, "I?m really excited. I?m anxious to meet her. She?s going to be here soon!"
Being surrounded by all women - wife Luciana, and their two daughters, Isabella and Gia, along with Luciana?s daughter, Alexia, from a previous marriage - Matt reveals, "It?s just completely different from any experience I?ve ever had in my life! It?s like relearning life. But it?s kind of amazing."

I read this on Tuesday, but I didn?t think it was true. Or rather, I didn?t think it was confirmed. But it turns out that Matt Damon did confirm that he and his wife Luciana are having yet another daughter - their third together, plus Lucy has another daughter from a pre-Damon relationship. So in another month, Matt will be in a household with FIVE women. That?s some Kardashian-Jenner junk, for real.
He’s being outnumbered! Matt Damon and wife Luciana Barrosa are expecting another girl, Damon tells UsMagazine.com. The Oscar-winning actor, who turned 40 last week, and Barrosa already have two daughters, Isabella, 4, and Gia, 2, as well as Barrosa?s daughter, Alexis, 11, from a previous relationship.
Their new baby is due next month.
“I’m thrilled,” Damon told Us Sunday at the New York Film Festival’s Hereafter premiere. “I can’t wait to meet her.”
Damon — who quietly wed Luciana in 2005 — has credited his kids with keeping him grounded in Hollywood.
?It’s pretty easy to kind of lose your way… having kids is really helpful,” he once told Parade magazine. “They kind of disabuse you of the notion of your greatness pretty quickly. There’s a routine that you get into with kids that precludes you from going back to your single days. I’m probably more boring than I used to be. I go to bed earlier and I get up earlier.”
[From Us Weekly]
I don?t see Matt as the kind of man who is in any way bummed to have a house full of girls - unlike Ben Affleck, who I think actually actively wants a son. Plus, with four little girls, chances are that one of them will be a baseball-loving tomboy, right? And if not, Matt should just be prepared to be shellacked in glitter for the next two decades. There are totally worse things.

His family will be expanding by one next month, and according to a report, Matt Damon is having another girl!
The ?Bourne Ultimatum? stud and his expecting wife, Luciana Barrosa, will be adding to their two daughters - 4-year-old Isabella and 2-year-old Gia, not to mention Barrosa?s 11-year-old daughter Alexis, from a previous relationship.
Of staying grounded, Damon once told Parade Magazine, ?It's pretty easy to kind of lose your way... having kids is really helpful."

Last night was the premiere of Matt Damon?s new film, Hereafter, which was directed by Clint Eastwood. Matt walked the red carpet with his wife Luciana or ?Lucy?. I know many of you bitches don?t like Lucy and spin wild conspiracy theories about her, but I think she?s probably a really nice woman. Matt isn?t a fool, and I think he just went for a nice, low-key woman who wanted to have a big family, just like him. I?m kind of losing count as to which pregnancy she?s on - this is her third baby with Matt, right? They?ll have three kids and Matt is step-dad to her daughter from a previous relationship.
Maybe he keeps knocking her up because she looks so cute when she?s pregnant? Lucy looks seriously lovely in this animal-print dress, especially from the side, where you can see she?s carrying really well. And I?ll just say a word about CB?s lover, Matt Damon: my God, he?s looking f-cking hot these days. After gaining and losing weight for roles over the years, Matt seems to have finally solidified and ?filled out? - keeping a boyish quality while still finally looking like a handsome MAN. Also, I f-cking love his glasses. I?ve needed to get new frames for about a year, and I think I?m going to bring these photos in and tell my optometrist that I want these frames.
All in all, Lucy and Matt are such a hot couple. And I buy it, you know? I buy that they?re in love and they?re happy and that he honestly adores his wife. Does that make me nave? I don?t care. I buy it. As for the film - well, I don’t really want to see it. It looks depressing, and like it’s… grief-porn, I guess. Here’s the trailer:
Eh. Back to the red carpet - Clint looks like hell… although it’s a beautiful kind of hell. I?m glad he?s not getting any work done. But my God, he looks old and grumpy. There are totally worse things.
