Tending to press obligations, Evangeline Lilly was all smiles at the 2010 Winter TCA Tour at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena, California on Tuesday (January 12).
Always attracting viewers, she and her “Lost” co-stars have filmed nine episodes of their 18-hour, 16-week final season - but they aren’t ready to party.
During the press tour, Josh Holloway, who plays Sawyer, said, “There’s a lot of camaraderie on th set. There’s a lot of magic. It’s like the first season…It’s been fabulous.”
What will he be doing next on the scene? “I’m retiring,” he joked. “I’m only doing conventions.”
But other cast members are having more trouble such as Miss Lilly, who plays Kate, as she tells, “ I am going to cry like a baby.”

Star Magazine and the National Enquirer have very similar stories about Evangeline Lilly and Dominic Monaghan this week. Both are claiming that Evangeline and Dominic are engaged again, and this time they?re seriously planning for a wedding. The Enquirer?s version is a lot nicer - they go on and on about how Dominic and Lilly invited his parents to Las Vegas, and announced their engagement all over again:
After an aborted plan to marry two years ago, the on-again/off-again couple is so serious this time about saying ?I do? that they recently invited Dominic?s parents to join them in Las Vegas - so they could get their blessing, say friends.
?Dominic and Evangeline have decided that now is the time to make it official,? revealed an insider. ?They?ve been through breakups and makeups and feel that their love has stood the test of time.?
Dominic?s parent?s ?couldn?t have been happier? with their plans to marry.

I really like them as a couple. I respect that Evangeline, who could be some over-exposed professional ?Hot Girl? like Megan Fox, chooses instead to be low-key, with a boyfriend that she seems to have a real connection to. I kind of think their engagement really is back on. They got back together in February of 2008, after a separation of only a few months. Star version of the whole engagement drama is perhaps having a Vegas elopement:

Yeah, I?m not sure. Evangeline is supposed to be pretty religious, and I could see her wanting and needing a big church wedding. But then again, maybe not. She?s obviously got a strain of dirty hippie in there too, so maybe a Vegas wedding is where it?s at!

There?s more stuff from Evangeline Lilly?s cover interview with Women?s Health Magazine. I have no idea why this interview is coming out in drips and drabs, and they don?t have the any of the interview up on the Women?s Health site - but they do have one of the prettiest photo montages of Evangeline I?ve ever seen.
On Tuesday, we reported on the little snippet of interview Page Six got a hold of. Evangeline claimed that producers were always disappointed that she didn?t want to become the next Angelina Jolie. Some thought ?Oh no she didn?t just compare herself to La Jolie? while I kind of thought Evangeline was using Jolie?s name as a way to say ?I don?t want to be a big movie star.? It was open to interpretation, but now we?re getting a bit more context. In the same interview, Evangeline also refers to Angelina as an ?ice queen? but says that she loves Angelina for it. What now?
Evangeline Lilly thinks Angelina Jolie is in ?ice queen? ? but insists it?s not a bad thing.
The Lost actress tells Women?s Health Magazine for its June issue that she admires the Changeling star, but wouldn?t want to be as famous as Jolie.
?No one knows that woman; she?s a complete ice queen, which is perfect,? Lilly said. ?Why should she be any more? She doesn?t owe us anything.?
?Sure, I?d love to be her, but just the [humanitarian] side,? she added.
Evangeline is also bored of rumors that she?s dating former costar Dominic Monaghan.
?If I were to tell you that Sandra Miggum and Henry Pickett are dating, would you ever care? They?re completely fictional, so you don?t know them,? she says. ?Well, people don?t know us. So why should they care??
?Right now, I?m happy doing a job that?s not my ultimate dream,? she adds. ?Even if you?re unhappy, just pretend that you?re happy.?
?Eventually, your smile will be contagious to yourself. I had to learn that ? I used to think, ?I?m being fake,? but you know what? Better to be fake and happy than real and miserable.?

I don?t really think Angelina comes across as an ice queen, but I?ve never thought she was particularly smug either, and I know many, many people think that of her. Different strokes, different interpretations of behavior. Personally, I prefer Angelina?s cut-a-bitch stare to the neediness and desperation of so many starlets. Perhaps Evangeline?s ?ice queen? comment is about how Angelina doesn?t seem to let the never-ending tabloid cycle get to her. Who knows.
Here?s what?s really bothering about Evangeline, though. It?s all of the complaining. Like someone forced her to dress up in great clothes, photographed her beautifully and held a gun to her head as she was being interviewed. If she doesn?t want to be a celebrity or an actress, fine. Quit Lost (please) and move away and do your missionary work. Problem solved. But don?t whine about it like it?s out of your control.

To be an actor or actress in Hollywood, you have to be full of yourself and somewhat delusional. Evangeline Lilly has both bases covered. The Lost actress tells Women’s Health that she isn’t that famous because she doesn’t want to be. Lilly says producers “have seen that I haven’t picked up on the opportunity to become a big movie star. It frustrates [them] that they’ve given me this chance to become the next Angelia Jolie” but she hasn’t gone after it. Lilly adds, “Sure, I’d love to be her, but just the humanitarian side.”
This kind of overselling is what keeps B-listers sane in Hollywood. If they came down to reality, they’d probably sink into a deep depression and kill themselves. Sort of like me and my modeling career. I always tell people that I’m the hottest male model in the world right now when in reality I’m only somewhere in the top 10. There’s no time for modesty in this business.

There?s no love lost between me and Evangeline Lilly?s Lost character Kate. Kate is the worst part of the show, one of the few poorly-drawn characters, and Evangeline isn?t a very good actress. But still, she?s cute, and I could see how her beauty and Lost fame could mean bigger paydays in film work. But Evangeline has never been interested in super-stardom, so I give her points for consistency. Evangeline has even said that after Lost, she probably won?t act again. Now Evangeline has given another interview where she?s talking about how she has shunned the opportunities given to her to ?become the next Angelina Jolie.? It sounds like Evangeline is quite proud of frustrating movie producers:

The TV actress tells the June issue of Women’s Health that her producers “have seen that I haven’t picked up on the opportunity to become a big movie star. It frustrates [them] that they’ve given me this chance to become the next Angelina Jolie” but she hasn’t gone after it.
Lilly adds, “Sure, I’d love to be her, but just the humanitarian side.”

I don?t really think Evangeline is bragging, saying that she could be the next Angelina Jolie - Lilly seems to be using Angelina?s name as shorthand for ?big film actress?. In any case, I think Megan Fox would have something to say about Evangeline being the next Jolie.
Evangeline was recently announced as one of the new ?faces? of Loreal, joining Elizabeth Banks and Freida Pinto. It was an interesting move for someone who claims to not be interested in the whole stardom thing, but I?d bet Lilly is just taking the money to do her missionary and humanitarian work. Or she?s going to blow it all on strippers and blow, either/or.

A few months ago, ?Lost? star Evangeline Lilly proclaimed that she probably wouldn?t be interested in acting post-?Lost?. Internet rumors began swirling last week that Lilly intended to quit ?Lost? this season, and was already auditioning for the new fall television shows. That rumor turned out to be false, however. A ?source? close to Lilly confirms that she?ll be on ?Lost? for a while, but the denial is very carefully worded.
An Internet rumor claiming that Evangeline Lilly is auditioning for fall 2009 pilots ? and thus may soon be leaving the role of Lost’s Kate ? has been summarily dismissed as false.
“None of this is true, not even remotely,” a source close to the actress tells TVGuide.com.
So, from where was this far-out fable born? While the original online account cites a “solid” source as saying that Lilly is putting out feelers, the writer of said story “never called anyone to clarify [her claims] ? not ABC, not Lilly’s publicist, not her agents,” says our own insider. “It was quite irresponsible.”
Both ABC and Lilly’s spokesperson declined to comment for this story.

Why would both Lilly?s people and the ABC people decline to comment? Maybe there?s more to the rumor than initially thought, although I tended to believe Evangeline when she said she wasn?t going to make a go of acting in the long run. In a few more years, she?ll probably be in some poverty-stricken country doing relief work.
For fans of ?Lost?, the character of Kate probably wouldn?t be sorely missed. Kate is… how do I put this?… kind of a wet blanket. She always gets herself into trouble, she always goes off somewhere half-cocked. Lilly and Matthew Fox are the ?stars? of what should be just a straight-up ensemble, and if their parts get cut back, I won?t miss them. If ?Lost? loses Kate, perhaps we can have more episodes focusing on Sayeed and Sawyer (swoon).
Sidenote for the Losties: How great is this season? How sweet is it that Desmond named his son Charlie? I jumped out of my skin when Locke got into another car accident! And I love the new characters… this new guy who crashed on the latest plane crash, the one who pocketed the gun, he?s got a good story, I can tell.

I?m one of those geeks obsessed with Lost. Unfortunately, I?m also one of those snobs who thinks that the ?stars? of the show, Matthew Fox and Evangeline Lilly, are the weakest, most boring characters of the show. I adore Naveen Andrews? character (Sayid) and wish that more screen time was devoted to Josh Holloway?s bare chest and Southern drawl.
Despite her character being a bit boring, Evangeline Lilly has always been an interesting interview. She seems very earnest and thoughtful. She doesn?t own a television, and she has admitted that she?s not interested in pop culture as a rule. She?s a Canadian who comes from a very devout Evangelical family. She?s worked as a missionary in the Philippines, and as a flight attendant before becoming an actress. In a recent interview to promote the upcoming premiere of Lost this Wednesday, Lilly admits that she?s not interested in continuing her acting career after the show is done.
?Lost? star Evangeline Lilly plans to take a break from acting once the show ends so she can finally fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a charity worker and writer.
The 30-year-old plays Kate Austen in the hit TV drama series, which is due to wrap up in 2010.
And while Lily admits it will be difficult to put her acting career on hold, she is determined to follow up her true passions. She says, “I intend on pursuing a lot of other things in my life. I’d love to have more time to devote to hobbies…?
“Before the show I had intended to be some sort of humanitarian worker. I’ll definitely have more time to pursue more of that. Writing is my first and foremost passion - I can’t stop writing. I write all the time. So I want to try to either publish something I’ve written or sell a script or work on that.”
But the star insists she won’t retire from Hollywood altogether: “The reality is when you open a door, there is no sense in closing it - so I would never say I’ll never act again. But it’s definitely not my priority.”

She?s been vocal about her desire to go back to humanitarian work before, and I applaud her. In truth, Evangeline’s not a really talented actress. She?s very pretty and wholesome-looking, and I suppose that?s enough to get her parts in the future. She?s seems very anti-Hollywood, and I doubt she would be ?corrupted? if she stuck around. Evangeline strikes me as very grounded and I hope that whatever she does after Lost, she find contentment.

Evangeline Lilly is an under the radar hottie. By that I mean Evangeline doesn’t come out in public and flaunt herself as much as others, but when she does, it’s usually very worthwhile. Here is Evangeline Lilly at the Paris premiere of the movie Afterwards and she’s looking pretty good in a blouse/pants combo. I really have only gotten to see Evangeline mostly in her role in LOST, but I really wouldn’t mind seeing her more often in photoshoots and in public.
