Fergie has never made it a secret that she was once a pretty hardcore drug user. I?ve seen and read interviews where she?s discussed her drug usage, and she?s always made it sound like her teenage years (and perhaps her twenties) were a blur of heroin, crystal meth, cocaine, ecstasy and whatever else she could get her hands on. Though I don?t care for Fergie in general, I always gave her respect for her honesty.
Anyway, Fergie gave an interview to Times of London where she discusses even more details about her past. Fergie claims she had a ?lost year? where she got caught up in the Hispanic ?Cholo? gang. Fergie says about the time: “Oh yeah. It was very alluring, very romantic. Well, I romanticized it. I thought it was artistic. I still think gangsters are cute.” Um? Fergie? You?re still romanticizing it. Us Weekly has more excerpts from the interview:
Fergie opens up about her harrowing struggle with drug addiction in a new interview with the Times of London.
“It started with ecstasy. I loved ecstasy. Loved it, loved it. It was great at first, then it just went….” the Black Eyed Peas frontwoman, 34, says.
When high, she suffered from spells of paranoia and she blacked out the windows in her apartment, convinced she was under FBI surveillance. She also had delusions and once had an eight-hour conversation with a laundry hamper. Another time, a drug dealer held a gun up to her head as she tried to buy marijuana in a bad neighborhood in L.A.
Of crystal meth, which became her drug of choice, she says, “It ruins you.”
Fergie — who will star alongside Penelope Cruz in musical Nine this fall — blames some of her past troubles on being a child star.
“What happens when you’re a child professional is that you have to be, well, professional. You’re taught not to have tantrums, to always people-please,” says Fergie, who appeared in Disney’s Kids Incorporated from 1984 to 1990.
She admits, “That’s part of how I got into [drugs] later.”
Fergie says her “publicists get really mad with [her] for talking about” her struggles.
“But I don’t care,” she adds. “For me, it’s something I went through. It’s an epidemic, and it’s important to talk about it because it’s a very, very hard thing to stop.”
Fergie admits she’s still judged for her past even though she hasn’t used drugs in 10 years.
“I’m trying to get a thicker skin. I like to be aware of people’s perceptions of me, but when you put it as a priority, as a means to judging your worth, that’s when it can be dangerous,” she says.
“There’s no rule book on how to do this,” she continues.

While I doubt Fergie does hard drugs anymore, I think she probably still smokes pot and I?m positive she still drinks. A lot. A few months ago the rumor was that Fergie?s drinking and partying was doing serious damage to her marriage with Josh Duhamel. Josh strikes me as a really nice (albeit vanilla) guy, which Fergie claims she wants in a man. In the Times of London interview, Fergie sums up what she learned about herself during that wild time: ?I started becoming attracted to qualities that didn’t involve guns and drugs and gangs. I changed my behavior through therapy and started becoming attracted to things like integrity and loyalty. Who would be a good father? Who would be a good husband?” Aw. That?s kind of sweet. Hopefully she and Josh make each other happy.

Continuing on her never-ending tour to support the latest Black Eyed Peas album The E.N.D., Fergie was spotted at the Perth International Airport getting ready to depart for Auckland yesterday.
Joined by her Peas pals apl.de.ap, will.i.am, and taboo, the “Big Girls Don’t Cry” singer looked to be in good spirits as she strolled through the terminal to her flight.
In a recent interview Fergie (real name Stacy Ferguson) revealed that it hasn’t been all platinum albums and luxury cars for her, but rather she used to have a pretty bad drug problem.
She explained, “I had a blast, but those things can only last for so long. I’m actually lucky that I hit it as hard as I did because it took me to a place where I knew I never wanted to do it again. It started with ecstasy. I loved ecstasy. Loved it, loved it. It was great at first, then it just went ... crashing down.”

Making the most of her time down under, Fergie was spotted gearing up for the Blackberry VIPeas party in Melbourne, Australia earlier today (October 7).
Joined by her partners in crime, apl.de.ap, will.i.am, and Taboo, the “Big Girls Don’t Cry” songstress looked super hot in an all-black ensemble as she posed outside the Rod Laver Arena.
Over the weekend, Fergie was spotted hobnobbing with the likes of Donna Karan and singer Cassie Davis at an afterparty in Sydney following the Black Eyed Peas gig at Acer Arena.
And it sounds like the Dutchess sure knows how to keep the party going, as she was seen singing and dancing the night away until after 3am!

Taking a break from their The E.N.D. tour, the Black Eyed Peas were spotted hyping up the new H&M store in Tokyo, Japan today (September 17).
Will.i.am, Fergie, apl.de.ap, and Taboo all looked super stylish as they gave a private, intimate concert to mark the store’s grand opening.
The “I Gotta Feeling” hitmakers began their set list with a medley of hits by the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson before launching into their own material.
Here in the States, the Peas have claimed the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the past six months (since April) with “Boom Boom Pow” leading straight into “I Gotta Feeling.”

When she’s on stage, she’s in her element, and over the weekend Fergie gave a killer performance at the Outside Lands Music & Art Fest.
The “Big Girls Don’t Cry” songstress looked super sexy in a zipped-up corset-style getup with strappy black heels as she worked the crowd.
Regarding the late Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein, Fergie and her Black Eyed Peas bandmates told press of the shock they felt when the heard the tragic news of his death.
Taboo commented, “Oh man, we were shocked [when we heard]. We couldn’t believe it. We were just with him [last] Friday in Las Vegas. We DJed with him and we took a couple pictures, and to hear it is devastating.”
Fergie recalled, “I remember going to this club called Firehouse back in the day. It was, like, the summer of ‘98 and he used to spin there. It’s a big dance club and this one night I remember there was basically 10 people in the club, but I really wanted to dance that night. It was the perfect night for me to practice dancing because not a lot of people were there and he was spinning, and they kept the club open and he kept spinning really good music. He was so cool like that.”
She continued, “He was just so talented and just such a cool, good-spirited person. There wasn’t a mean bone in that guy’s body, and it’s just really sad after what happened with him and Travis and now this, it’s really sad.”

Looking ever so stylish, Fergie was spotted readying for a flight out of LAX Airport in Los Angeles on Friday afternoon (August 21).
The Black Eyed Peas frontwoman made her way through the terminal with a smile as she puts her shoes in a bin before the x-ray machine while passing through security.
Meanwhile, Fergie recently chatted with press about the possibility of getting pregnant – saying that it’s something she wants… but not right now.
“I will not be getting pregnant during a tour,” she said. “I have always said that. Right now my head is in the tour but, for sure, Josh and I want to have a family.”
“There were rumors a few weeks ago that I was completely not into it. I mean they go back and forth, it is crazy. I am completely into it. But I’m still on tour for another year so it won’t be for a while.”

Back in July, we reported on an interesting little piece in the National Enquirer. They claimed that Josh Duhamel and Fergie were on the rocks after only six months of marriage. The reason? It seems that Josh really wanted to settle down and start their family, while Fergie was happy to go out every night and get smashed. A source told the Enquirer, ??He?s a traditional guy, and he wants a family? but she doesn?t seem capable of slowing down long enough to really consider children? She?s the toast of the music world? and has an incredibly hectic schedule touring, recording and performing. There aren?t enough hours in the day for everything she wants to do. Plus, she?s a major partier.? The gist was that even though Josh was ?madly in love? with Fergie, if she didn?t ?grow up? Josh would be out the door.
Now the Enquirer is reporting that Fergie has decided to try to get pregnant. No mention of whether she and Josh were really fighting, or if he was badgering her, they only say that Fergie has got it into her head that a baby would be cool or whatever. A source tells the Enquirer, ?She says pregnancy will be a crash course in cleaning up her act.? That really bothers me, actually. I believe you should clean up your act before your pregnancy, not during.
Desperate to get her marriage to Josh Duhamel back on track, Fergie has agreed to get pregnant - and she announced her change of heart in the middle of a Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game!
As The ENQUIRER previously reported, the Black Eyed Peas thrush and her hunky thesp hubby were fighting just six months into their marriage.
Josh, 36, was ready to start a family, while Fergie, 34, continued to party. But after some soul-searching, she agreed to chill and promised Josh they could start trying for a baby after her tour ends in the fall, say sources.
“Fergie turned to Josh right in the middle of the baseball game and told him she wanted a baby to make their lives complete,” revealed a close friend.
“She says pregnancy will be a crash course in cleaning up her act.”
While Fergie had always planned to have kids, she wanted to put it off for a while.
Josh is thrilled by her change of heart, said the friend. “He adores Fergie, and he can’t wait for her to be pregnant.”

I?m still at a loss with this couple. I just don?t get it. Whenever I read or see an interview with Josh, he seems like a nice enough guy, though bland. How in the world did he end up with a girl like Fergie? And why does he think that she?ll ever be able to settle down and be this little wife and mother that he seems to want? In any case, even though I don?t get it, I wish them the best. They seem relatively harmless, and I do hope Fergie cleans up her act and gets pregnant, if that?s what she wants.

After only six months of marriage, Fergie and husband Josh Duhamel are reportedly on the rocks. According to Nine MSN
The tanned pair “are clashing night and day, and they’re desperately trying to get a handle on their problems,” [said] a friend.
“Apparently Josh wants to start a family, but Fergie’s not ready to give up her rock n’ roll lifestyle.”
Hmm… “rock ‘n roll lifestyle” must actually be code for “wiener.” And from what I remember from health class, it’s hard to make a baby with four testicles between the two of you. I’m pretty sure you need a fallopian tube or an ovum somewhere in the mix.
