It?s sort of nice how many people have sort of adjusted their opinions of Megan Fox over time. A decade ago, I thought she was an unprofessional brat and word-salad-spinner extraordinaire. But she went away, she grew up, she got partly bullied out of the industry and she had to work her way back in slowly. At this point, I mostly find Megan kind of harmless, and I even feel sort of protective of her I think her marriage to Brian Austin Green sucks and I wish some director or writer really knew what to do with her. Anyway, Megan sat down for a lengthy interview with Entertainment Tonight. The purpose was to mark the 10-year anniversary of Jennifer?s Body, which was Megan?s first lead role. Jennifer?s Body has become something of a cult classic, and Diablo Cody (who wrote the script) was part of this interview too. You can read the piece here. Some highlights:
Megan on what was happening to her in 2009: There was so much going on with me at that time, that movie being picked apart was not at the top of [my list of concerns]. Because I had such a fraught relationship with the public, and the media, and journalists, and I was struggling so much at that time in general, this didnt stand out as a particularly painful moment, it was just part of the mix.
The era of being sexualized and objectified: It wasnt just that movie, it was everyday of my life, all the time, with every project I worked on and every producer I worked with. It preceded a breaking point for me. I think I had a genuine psychological breakdown where I wanted just nothing to do. I didnt want to be seen, I didnt want to have to take a photo, do a magazine, walk a carpet, I didnt want to be seen in public at all because the fear, and the belief, and the absolute certainty that I was going to be mocked, or spat at, or someone was going to yell at me, or people would stone me or savage me for just being out? so I went through a very dark moment after that.
She felt like she was ahead of the #MeToo movement: I feel like I was sort of out and in front of the #MeToo movement before the #MeToo movement happened, I was speaking out and saying, Hey, these things are happening to me and theyre not OK.? And everyone was like, Oh well, f**k you. We dont care, you deserve it. Because everybody talked about how you looked or how you dressed or the jokes you made.
Megan doesn?t feel like ?there is a space in feminism for her: Even though I consider myself a feminist, I feel like feminists dont want me to be a part of their group. What is supporting other females if there is only certain ones of us we support? If I have to be an academic or have to be non-threatening to you in some way? Why cant I be a part of the group as well? Considering all of the stuff that has happened since then, and is happening on a regular basis in this country, and with celebs [stories] we have everyday, I never really did anything that crazy. But I was really dragged through the coals for a lot of it.
Being a mom in Hollywood: Being a mother is not something really respected in this industry. If anything its considered as a handicap. And thats unfortunate because its not acknowledged, what were juggling, what were doing.
Megan?s work: I get this all the time, people will be like, You just dont really work that much.? And its like, I have given birth, I have gestated and given birth to three children. I stared in a movie that opened world wide, number one twice! I was on a critically acclaimed sitcom. I f**king executive produced and created a show about archaeological controversies! How much more f**king productive does a f**king women need to be? F**k you!
[From Entertainment Tonight]
You know what? Megan still has a point about how she was telling #MeToo stories before people were willing to listen. She tried in her way to talk about how Michael Bay made her feel, and how he behaved towards her and? she was fired from the Transformers franchise. She?s also right about how we and I?m including myself talked about how she did deserve to be fired, to be shunned, to be criticized. Because I really did think she was an unprofessional brat, and for several years, she oversaturated the media with those ?sexy photoshoots? and whatever we were like ?well, Megan can?t complain about being objectified when she?s choosing to do a million scantily clad editorials.? She was just a really young woman in the studio system, being controlled by a lot of powerful men, men who then threw her away when she talked too much. *deep sigh* I?m sorry, Megan Fox.

Megan Fox is back with a new Travel Channel show, Legends of the Lost. It?s sort of based on one of Megan?s big loves, which is ?all of the Ancient Aliens programming.? If you?ve never seen Ancient Aliens, you need to, because those shows are super-enjoyable. How did the pyramids get made? Aliens. Who was Jesus? An alien. Why are the dinosaurs extinct? Aliens. And on and on. Well, Megan loves that show and she wanted to host her own version of it, so she pitched Legends of the Lost, with herself in the host/Indiana Jones role. She also executive produced the show, and she?s been promoting it for weeks. She chatted with the New York Times about ancient mysteries and Me Too and more. Some highlights:
How the show happened: A few years back, Megan Fox awoke to an epiphany: ?I think that I can find the ark of the covenant,? she told herself. ?I?ve always been really been passionate about ancient peoples and ancient religions and ancient magic practices, not knowing what to do with it. And so I started pitching a show. I feel drawn into archaeological mysteries, and I feel that I have a purpose there. If it?s to be a literal Indiana Jones, who?s to say??
The book that changed everything: ?I had never read Erich von Dniken?s book [?Chariots of the Gods?], and that?s the first time I had ever heard of the ancient astronaut theory [which posits that extraterrestrials brought their pyramid- and monolith-building technologies to Earth during prehistoric times]. It expanded my consciousness about things I had always questioned and provided a stepping stone to keep exploring.
Whether the public owes her a retroactive apology in the wake of Me Too: ?I mean, that?s a lovely sentiment, and I appreciate that. [Long pause] I don?t know that I want to feel anything about it because my words were taken and used against me in a way that was ? at that time in my life, at that age and dealing with that level of fame ? really painful. I don?t want to say this about myself, but let?s say that I was ahead of my time and so people weren?t able to understand. Instead, I was rejected because of qualities that are now being praised in other women coming forward. And because of my experience, I feel it?s likely that I will always be just out of the collective understanding. I don?t know if there will ever be a time where I?m considered normal or relatable or likable.
She doesn?t know if she would be seen as a sympathetic victim: ?Even with the #MeToo movement, and everyone coming out with stories ? and one could assume that I probably have quite a few stories, and I do ? I didn?t speak out for many reasons. I just didn?t think based on how I?d been received by people, and by feminists, that I would be a sympathetic victim. And I thought if ever there were a time where the world would agree that it?s appropriate to victim-shame someone, it would be when I come forward with my story. No [there?s nothing I want to say], because I also feel like I?m not the universal hammer of justice. This is not to say that other people shouldn?t do what they feel is right. But in my circumstance, I don?t feel it?s my job to punish someone because they did something bad to me.
Raising three sons: ?I?m the window through which they see all women now. I?m the introduction to the divine feminine. And if they feel safe with me as the main woman in their life, it?s likely they?ll feel safe with women in general. If they see their father being respectful of me, it?s likely that that?s what they?ll think all men should do. It sounds simple. It?s probably not.
[From The New York Times]
?Let?s say that I was ahead of my time and so people weren?t able to understand. Instead, I was rejected because of qualities that are now being praised in other women coming forward.? I don?t know, I think she?s right? We saw it unfold in real time, and of course Megan wasn?t a perfect victim and of course she *also* behaved unprofessionally, etc, but the truth is still the same: Michael Bay sexually harassed her and then when she tried to talk about it, Steven Spielberg ordered Bay to fire Fox. And that?s just what we know about, because she talked about it at the time. She was ahead of her time, however messy. Justice 4 Megan Fox.

Megan Fox s career has been somewhat a disappointment. She blew up and because she was just too hot for her own good, casting agents didnt take her seriously. At least that is what I think. Anyway, shes now a model for a lingerie company and I hope she gets a chance to shine on []

| Megan Fox: Hollywood is 'morally bankrupt' they don't care if you drop dead' | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I didn?t excerpt every interesting part of Brendan Fraser?s GQ interview, but I did include a few of his quotes about how his body was basically destroyed from years of doing so many stunt-heavy films, and how it?s taken years of surgery and healing to even get back to a place where he can just? move and exist. Fraser talked about how no one really cared that he was messing up his body so profoundly. I happened to read that Fraser piece the same day I read this Megan Fox interview, where she talks about the similar feeling of just being ?used up? by Hollywood, that no one really cares about your health or welfare or mental state. Some highlights (she?s promoting her Frederick?s of Hollywood deal, which is why she?s talking about lingerie, btw).
Her schedule with her sons: “[Brian] does the morning routine with them and takes them to school and I usually pick them up. We try to make it to a movie once a week or have an adult lunch so that everything isn’t always kid-centered. I try to make a rule let’s not talk about the kids, but it’s impossible.”
She doesn?t wear lingerie ?for? Brian Austin Green: “I don’t do anything for my partner. Everything I do is for myself,. I think the whole point of lingerie is to help you feel more confident in expressing who you are, it shouldn’t be so much about parading around for someone else.”
Her diet: “I eat organic all the time. I drink at least 100 ounces of water a day and I drink less than 8 ounces of coffee a day.”
How she thinks about the industry: She believes that Hollywood is “morally bankrupt? there’s not a lot of concern about what’s right for individuals. As long as you survive filming and they’ve gotten what they need from you they don’t really care if you drop dead afterwards. It doesn’t matter if you break an arm or you break a leg. You can get really sick as long as you are not bleeding from your face you are going to keep working and people don’t understand that. There’s no regard for your safety or your physical well-being at all because it doesn’t matter because you are a means to an end.”
[From E! News]
Her comments about the rights of individual actors perfectly dovetails with what Fraser said, and what Uma Thurman said about the stunt-gone-wrong on Kill Bill too. It?s about the lack of respect for someone?s well-being, the lack of protections in place. This is the role the Screen Actors Guild and actors? agents and lawyers should play in the system, but I get the feeling that there are so many gaps. I also get the feeling that? Megan has some stories. A lot of stories.

Megan Fox has been making a serious hotness comeback lately thanks to Frederick’s of Hollywood. And here she is on Instagram modeling something from their new holiday collection of lingerie that won’t look half as good on your wife or girlfriend as it does on this A-list MILF. Anyway, unfortunately, Megan doesn’t post on Instagram […]

| Megan Fox is the new face/brand ambassador for Frederick's of Hollywood | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

When I was younger, I had more interest in cute lingerie. Now I buy Hanes cotton underwear in six-packs and I have no apologies about that. For me, Victoria?s Secret was always the go-to for cute and impractical lingerie, mostly because that was the only lingerie store selling youthful lingerie in my town. I always associated Frederick?s of Hollywood with cheap and tacky stuff, although looking back on it now? Frederick?s and Vicky?s were probably on the same level of quality. I also think Frederick?s has tried to rebrand for better quality and more mid-level lingerie. So this new move should help: Megan Fox is the new brand ambassador for Frederick?s of Hollywood. Not only that, she?s designing a capsule collection and she?s a stakeholder in the company. Damn, Megan. This might actually be a great move.
Megan Fox has found a way to turn her international bombshell status into yet another lucrative money-making opportunity, signing on with lingerie brand Frederick?s of Hollywood as their new brand ambassador, stakeholder, and creative partner.
It was announced on Wednesday that ?Earth?s hottest girl,? as Maxim once called her, will be teaming up with the underpinnings purveyor that was purchased back in April for $22.5 million by Authentic Brands Group after filing for bankruptcy. But Fox won?t just be snapping some pretty pictures for the company, she?s also been granted a stake in its ownership, as well as the freedom to exert some creative direction over the brand?s designs.
The actress told WWD, ?I?ve been reluctant in the past to work with brands because there?s a lot of politics behind it and it?s a big deal to lend your name and image to something. But by offering me ownership in the company and some creative say, it gives me an opportunity to be passionate about what I?m promoting.?
[From People]
In the past, I?ve actually worried that Megan isn?t really bringing in enough money to support her growing family. Yes, she?s been the centerpiece of two franchises (Transformers and TMNT) but she?s not necessarily bringing in huge paychecks from those roles. Megan has always supplemented her income from modeling work. She?s been the face and body of Armani, Avon and Sharper Image in the past, plus she done some commercial work for Motorola, video games, etc. This new deal with Frederick?s is interesting because it seems like something Jennifer Aniston would do ? become a stakeholder, be a profit-sharer and get involved with rebuilding or building a brand. I?ll admit it, I?m kind of interested in seeing what Megan Fox-designed lingerie looks like.

Here are some photos of Megan Fox outside of Jimmy Kimmel?s studio in LA on Tuesday. She appeared on Tuesday night?s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote the second Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, which looks awful and will probably make a billion dollars. As we all know, Megan is currently knocked up with her third child, a whoopsie baby conceived after Megan and Brian Austin Green had already separated (although not so much). So when Megan was chatting with Kimmel, they ended up talking a lot about pregnancy and babies. And Megan believes that this fetus is communicating with her and giving her real estate tips.
Hearing messages from the fetus: ?You don?t hear an audible voice, but you hear messages, if you?re open to it. For instance, this baby wanted me to live somewhere else so we?re moving to a whole different place in Los Angeles because I feel like that?s where this baby wants to be raised.?
The baby is a genius: “I also feel like this baby is telling me it’s kind of like a Wernher von Braun or an Elon Musk, like a super genius? I know it sounds crazy, like I’m a lunatic, but I’ve made some really good decisions based on what I think the higher self is telling me to do. So, now [Brian] just goes along with it? I don’t think an infant is going to say, ‘No, not this one. We need to move down the street.’ I mean, anything is possible.”
It?s easier the third time around: “It’s easier doing it, because I’ve had a baby every other year since 2012. So your body gets used to it. With the first one, I was really afraid that something was going to go wrong, and then with the second one, he came so soon after the first one it was all a blur. And then with this one I’ve been a little more relaxed, but because I know how it hurts as we get closer to the date and we’re getting closer, I do still get nervous about that, because that pain is no joke.”
She forgets the pain of childbirth: “You get temporary amnesia in order to further the human race, otherwise there would be no people left.”
[From People & E! News]
Maybe I?m sort of hippie-dippie (am I???), but I believe in vibes and sixth sense and foreshadowing dreams and all of that. I don?t think Megan is saying that her fetus is knocking on belly and demanding to live in Malibu. I think Megan wanted to move and she got a good vibe from that thought and? whatever. And every mother thinks her child is going to be a genius.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows comes out this week, and it will probably make hundreds of millions of dollars, even though the CGI turtles look like demonic turds come to life. So, Megan Fox will have another hit movie. Her ?comeback? after her 2009-10 fall from grace/favor is officially happening. The first TNMT was a huge hit, Megan branched out to comedic roles and she?s always in-demand for commercial work and modeling. Megan?s also pregnant with her third child, a whoopsie baby fathered by her estranged husband Brian Austin Green. In a new interview, Megan doesn?t talk much about BAG, but she does sound pretty happy to be back on top. She even says words about how much her one-time nemesis Michael Bay loves her now. Some highlights:
On Michael Bay: “He loves me so much. He. Loves. Me. I am one of his favourite people. I was at his Christmas party, we were taking selfies. We like each other. I have a good relationship with Michael.”
But they had a falling out years ago: “Sure. People change. Things grow. The universe.”
Turning 30: “In terms of packing a lot into 30 years, I will soon have three kids, which is pretty crazy. Back to back to back. But my career trajectory? How do I feel about it, what do I think? I don’t know? I prefer making comedies or these action movies because I have a lot of fun? It’s not that I don’t enjoy acting or making movies. I have been really lucky in the movies I have made, but there are other things that I love and I am interested in that I want to explore. I guess 30 years old is a year of awakening for a lot of people so I am learning who I am and finding myself and starting to branch off in new and different directions.”
Her new directions: “I am actually a much more academic person than anyone would anticipate and I have a lot of interest in things like, aside from theology and philosophy, I am really interested in archaeology and things of that nature. I have put a lot of time into learning and studying about these things. I am trying to find ways to incorporate that into the platform I have been given as an actor. I think that is as specific as I can get right now.”
Her sense of self: “I think I was lucky to have a very strong sense of self (at 18)? I think you have to somehow develop the ability to not be in need of validation from other people’s opinions, because you will never get that. From anywhere, but especially not in this industry, because reviews and opinions are too mixed and you are too exposed. Everyone has a voice now because of the internet and social media. Even on CNN? random people’s tweets are part of the news stories. The way you are bombarded with random people’s opinions is very difficult. You have to be able to become unattached, not detached, but unattached to what that could possibly do to your sense of self. You have to just be centered and maintain a clear bird’s-eye-view of who you are and why you’re here.”
[From SMH]
The Michael Bay thing ? they both said and did awful things to each other, but it always read to me like they had some weird sexual tension with each other. Bay produces the TNMT movies and it was said at the time (when Megan was cast in the first one) that she had to go to Bay and basically grovel for his forgiveness. But whatever, water under the bridge and now she wants you to believe that Bay loves her completely. As for the rest of it? I think what she says about being ?unattached? to other people?s views is pretty smart, actually. I?ve never thought Megan was all that bright, but every now and then and I?m reminded that she actually has some depth, that she?s not just a vapid starlet.
