She?s been on a bit of a rollercoaster between stick thin and voluptuous over the years, and Christina Aguilera is tired of the focus on her weight.
In a new interview, the ?Ain?t No Other Man? singer laments the constant public scrutiny over what size she is at any given time.
Christina began, "During the promotion of my album Stripped [in 2002], I got tired of being a skinny white girl. I am Ecuadorian but people felt so safe passing me off as a skinny, blue-eyed white girl,"
"The next time my label saw me, I was heavier, darker and full of piercings!... Let me tell you, that wasn't an easy pill for them to swallow. I had gained about 15 pounds during promotion and during my Stripped tour [with Justin Timberlake, 31]. They called this serious emergency meeting about how there was a lot of backlash about my weight. Basically, they told me I would affect a lot of people if I gained weight -- the production, musical directors."
And given her new curvy shape, Aguilera isn?t making any apologies. "I told them during this Lotus recording, 'You are working with a fat girl. Know it now and get over it.? My body can't put anyone in jeopardy of not making money anymore -- my body is just not on the table that way anymore."

Christina Aguilera covers in the Sept. 29 issue of Billboard magazine to promote her upcoming record, Lotus, which releases on November 13. Interestingly enough, Billboard’s review of the “Your Body” single describes the song as possessing “wince-worthy lyrics about anonymous sex” with nothing else noteworthy to bring to the table, which was the general consensus on this site as well. Yesterday, Kaiser covered the video, which was pretty tacky and kind of ruined the song for me. Still, Christina promises in this interview that Lotus (unlike Bionic) will “remind music lovers of her true talent.” But she’s still defending Bionic too, which we’ll discuss below.
The better part of the interview revolves around Christina’s surprisingly candid statements on her weight. Christina’s previously spoken of her new body in terms of loving her new curves because, in her words, “the challenge I’ve always had is being too thin.” Now she elaborates a bit more on that challenge, which she says was actually down to her record company’s demands that she be very thin. Here, she frames the issue not so much as a “gain” but as a return to where her body naturally resides on the scale. I guess she’s not really accounting for the effect of alcohol, but she otherwise makes a lot of sense on the issue. She really was pretty skinny while promoting Back to Basics, but she now says that she took a bold stand against her record company and basically told them to just “deal with” her new weight because she doesn’t plan on changing anything. She’s got a point — a successful pop star doesn’t need to be skinny. Just look at Adele, right? Here’s some excerpts from the interview:

I was young, so I lost the weight quickly and was toothpick thin during Back to Basics promos and touring.”
This time around, it’s different: “I told them during this Lotus recording, ‘You are working with a fat girl. Know it now and get over it.’ They need a reminder sometimes that I don’t belong to them. It’s my body. My body can’t put anyone in jeopardy of not making money anymore-my body is just not on the table that way anymore.”
Why Bionic flopped: “I can proudly say [Bionic] was ahead of its time, to be honest. It wasn’t so commercialized. You had to really be a music lover, be a true fan of music and the love of being open to really appreciate that record. It’s just a special piece in my body of work that will forever live on. The older the record gets the more people will come to appreciate it actually and check it out.”
On new beginnings: “This album represents a celebration of the new me, and to me the lotus has always represented this unbreakable flower that withstands any harsh weather conditions in its surroundings, that withstands time and remains beautiful and strong throughout the years.”
Her songwriting is getting better? “Once I could start writing my own songs, beginning with Stripped, I tried to infuse as much as I could to promote strength and inspire people with that message. And now I’m at a place at 31, where the last time I felt this way was when I was 21 with Stripped and I had a lot to say and a lot to express.”

Looking like she may have partied a bit too hard, Christina Aguilera was spotted leaving Spago restaurant in Beverly Hills on Friday (September 28) with noticeable help from boyfriend Matt Rutler and a security guard.
The "Dirty" singer celebrated the release of the new music video for " Your Body" in a black-and-white patterned dress. She even sported hot Pink platform heels to match her Pink and purple hair tips.
In addition to her hot new music video, fans can see the 31-year-old star in October when a new PSA for the United Nations World Hunger Relief hits the airwaves.
As the global spokesperson for the charity, Christina stars in the spot that depicts a mother's emotional battle, struggling to provide food for her starving child. "The Voice Within," plays in the background, while the pop star urges viewers to give hungry kids a voice.
Speaking about the campaign, she recently stated, "The concept of my new PSA for Yum! Brands' World Hunger Relief effort really moves me, not just because I'm a mother, but because it speaks to anyone who has ever struggled to feed their children. It is a devastating issue but one that we can help solve and that's why I'm so passionate about using my voice by raising awareness."

Christina Aguilera released the music video for “F*ck Your Body” now called “Love Your Body” because won’t somebody please think of the children?! It’s about a chubby chick who goes around having sex with strangers.
The video left me with a few questions:
Is she really singing in front of a trailer home? Because bravo. That seemed very appropriate.
That’s gross, what did she do in that bathroom? Why is that guy covered in blue stuff? Did they have sex in the tidy bowl toilet?
Why did she bring a baseball bat with her when she went to bang the second guy? Did she stick that up somewhere? What is this, Thailand?
How tight did that outfit need to be to make her waist look that small? Was it reinforced with Wolverine’s bones?

Christina Aguilera hit up the 2012 NCLR ALMA Awards in Pasadena on Sunday and long story short, she looks like this now. Like a woman who has to buy two first class tickets on a flight because each ass cheek needs it’s own seat. At this point, even Jessica Simpson would go up to her and ask what the hell happened.

She?s no stranger to high-profile happenings, and last night (September 16) Christina Aguilera showed up at the 2012 NCLR ALMA Awards.
The ?Genie in a Bottle? songstress was more than happy to pose for the press outside the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, California in her figure-hugging black and lace dress with plenty of diamond jewelry.
Aguilera also debuted a new hairdo for the shutterbugs- a Pink and purple pony tail that nicely accentuated her platinum blonde locks.
Of her tendency to show off her curves, she recently shared, ?Actually, the challenge I?ve always had is being too thin, so I love that now I have a booty, and obviously I love showing my cleavage. Hey, if you can work it and you can own it, that confidence is going to shine through.?
On the career front, Christina just dropped her new single ?Your Body? from her forthcoming album Lotus, which is due in stores this November.

These are some photos from last night?s ALMA Awards, the awards for Latinos and Latinas in the entertainment, media and sports industries. I looked through the photos, and I feel pretty confident that Christina Aguilera will be the one celebrity everyone will be talking about today. I?m of two minds on this: on one side, I think Christina Aguilera is simply heavier now, and we should stop judging her based on her old pop-star figure. On the other side, I feel the same way about Christina that I?ve felt (in the past) about people like Vince Vaughn and Gerard Butler: she just looks so unhealthy. Like she boozes all day and all night. Anyway, I don?t want to body-snark on her, I?ll just say that this Michael Kors dress is really unflattering on her. Incidentally, this is the same Michael Kors dress that Angelina Jolie wore to the Producers Guild Awards earlier this year. Also: Christina?s makeup and hair are doing her no favors as well.
Eva Longoria was co-host of the ALMAs, and she apparently changed outfits no fewer than seven times. She is flat-out exhuasting, so here?s the one look that I found notable ? those panels are actually unlined, meaning that they were sheer straight through. Meaning that in certain angles, people could see Eva?s butt cheeks, and probably a lot more.

Christina Aguilera covers the October issue of Lucky Mag, because she?s back to be a ?thing? now that she?s on a hit reality show (The Voice). So we will have lots of Christina news and photos for a lot longer than I was expecting. As for her styling for the cover shoot ? she looks pretty! I always like it when a magazine does a ?makeunder? on Christina, and it?s nice to be reminded of her prettiness underneath all of that orange and red clown makeup. Christina?s response when she?s complimented about the song ?Fighter?: ?Awww. That?s why I wrote ?Fighter,? I have that need in me to help people. I am all about the underdog.?
Starting out in the music industry: ?When you?re young, it?s so easy to get bulldozed,? she says. She was surrounded by people trying to control what she said, what she sang and what she wore. ?There were these two ladies who worked at the record label who always wanted to come to fittings and dress me up like a Barbie doll. It was disgusting.?
The success of her Stripped album: ?I was 21 and fearless. It was a really great turning point for me to be the artist I?d always wanted to be.?
The difficult years: ?Difficult moments in life can either get you down or they can inspire you.?
Her new album: In the next few months, she’ll drop a new album. ?If you love ?Fighter,??? she says, ?you?re going to love my new album. As a 30-year-old woman, I?ve been uncovering my independence, and it?s been really fun to explore in the new songs.?
Her role on The Voice: ?It?s a big responsibility to help someone express themselves as an artist. I take it seriously,? she says.

You know what this second-chance career trajectory reminds me of? Jennifer Lopez and American Idol. I wonder if Christina looks at what?s going on with J.Lo and takes it as a cautionary tale ? like, ?I should stick with a show that gave me a second chance, and just spend my downtime from the show working on my music career.? I am interested to see if Christina sticks with The Voice for any longer than, say, another two seasons. I wonder if Christina?s boy-toy ? like J.Lo?s boy-toy ? is telling her that she doesn?t need the reality show, that she?s a big enough star without the show.

Making her way to the Sherman Oaks Medical Center, Christina Aguilera was off to a doctor?s appointment yesterday (July 24).
Joined by her boyfriend Matthew Rutler, the ?Ain?t No Other Man? hitmaker looked a bit disheveled as she strolled inside, sporting a fedora along with a frumpy ensemble.
And though she?s always had a bit of tension with Adam Levine on ?The Voice,? it turns out Christina has moved past the Tony Lucca conflict from last season.
Carson Daly told press things are good so far- ?I didn?t know what to expect in frame one of Season 3. I was curious to know if the first time they had an exchange, would you be able to feel any resentment, but it just wasn?t there. It?s better. It?s like they went to couples therapy.?
