When you think of good nutrition, do you think of Cameron Diaz? I don’t, I just remember what she’s said about how she enjoys eating junk food. She said sometime in 2006 that her hangover cure was “An Egg McMuffin from McDonald’s and a beer. You have to drink more alcohol; you’ve killed yourself with. Hair of the dog, that’s what it is… And you have to get grease. Grease is the only cure for a hangover.” So I’ve always assumed that Cammie indulges when she wants and spends a lot of time in the gym working it off. She must not eat junk all that often or she wouldn’t have a banging body like that, though.
Well Cameron is penning a book for teenage girls on nutrition, with a focus on being healthy instead of just aiming to be thin. She’s supposedly been inspired by her buddy Gwyneth Paltrow’s success with “lifestyle” brand Goop, as if Goop is anything more than a commercial venture. Cameron also plans a high school tour to bring her message to more impressionable young people. It actually sounds like a great idea. Here’s more, thanks to E! Online.
Far from being a celebrity vanity project, the What to Expect When You’re Expecting star is putting pen to paper for a very good cause, and is writing a book about the importance of proper nutrition and staying healthy for impressionable young girls.
“She wants to stop their fixation on being thin, and for teenage girls to understand that being healthy is more important,” a publishing source told E! News. “She wants to use her celebrity to make a difference. She knows she is a role model to girls and she really wants to use that position to do good.
“This book is not about weight, it’s about making the right choices.”
No formal publishing deal is yet in place, but Diaz has been mulling over the idea for some time, and has signed on with a literary agent.
And lest you think Diaz is simply lending her name to the noble endeavor and nothing more, think again.
“Cameron is going to be visiting high schools around the country to talk to teenagers about their food choices and what is important to them,” the source told E! News. “She wants them to know that being thin should not be their priority, it’s about getting the right vitamins and knowing what foods will give them energy and keep them strong. She wants to get their feedback, learn about how they decide what to eat now, and teach them to make more informed choices.”
In other words, put the legwork in. So, how and when did the literary urge strike Cameron’s fancy?
“Everything changed for Cameron after her father died,” the source said. “She realized what is important and started to think more and more about her health.”
Her good intentions, coupled with her unprecedented access to the top nutritionists in the world, has resulted in Diaz’s desire to pass on the lessons she’s learned to young women.
But there is one thing the book will not be.
“This book isn’t about her. And it’s not a diet of any kind. Of course, it’s her own journey that has helped her realize what’s important, but she wants the book to appeal to everyone, and not just be about her own food choices.”
In addition to her own story, the book will also feature advice and expertise not only from top nutritionists, but some of Cameron’s celebrity pals, including Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Lopez and, yes, Gwyneth Paltrow, who, it turns out, has been a bit of an inspiration to her fellow movie star.
“Cameron has become very close to Gwyneth and it’s been very interesting for her to see what Gwyneth is doing with Goop,” the source said. “She’s been inspired by Gwyneth and the way she uses her fame to influence and help people. Now Cameron wants to do the same.”
Diaz’s rep confirmed the actress’ interest in the project, saying “This is one of many projects she is considering for the future but nothing firm or ready to announce.”
Though she has yet to sign on any dotted lines, a book deal seems inevitable, and could be ready as early as next year. When it does finally hit shelves, Diaz will also launch an accompanying website to further educate young girls on health issues.
And that might just be the beginning.
“Through this project, she wants schools to offer better meal options for kids,” the publishing source continued. “She wants to have an impact on a huge scale. In some way, she feels like this is her calling. This is her passion.”

The end part, about how schools should offer more healthy food options, is extremely important. I’ve seen what passes for food in my son’s cafeteria and it’s outrageous. The more celebrities who get behind this cause, the better. Jamie Oliver is trying his best and as we saw on his show and there’s a ton of red tape and budget issues behind this. If Cameron can make a difference, it will truly be a great legacy.
I don’t get how she finds Goop inspiring, though. Cameron will be embarking on a charity project aimed at girls. Gwyneth is trying to sell us a hyped lifestyle with paid advertisements for brands that are priced out of most people’s reach. She advertised a $420 cleanse that was nothing more than protein powder and vitamins. That’s not healthy or promoting nutrition, that’s taking starvation and marketing it. Goop has been successful at moving beyond acting I guess, since that her career is drying up for her. We’d all have much more respect for her if she would have focused on an important cause instead like Cameron is about to do. I’m actually excited to see how this works out for Cameron and I love the idea.

Out keeping her envious body in perfect shape, Cameron Diaz was spotted leaving the gym in Los Angeles, CA on Wednesday afternoon (May 30).
The "There's Something About Mary" starlet looked flawless in an all black workout ensemble and sneakers while carrying a large bottle of water out to her car after working up a good sweat.
In career news, as previously reported by GossipCenter, Cameron's Hollywood physique is shown off on July's issue of InStyle UK.
While talking to the publication, Miss Diaz opened up about life, love and her career, saying, "I have friends all over the world ? I call them my tribes." She added, "I love to witness how different people love one another. I find that enriching. The greatest values in my life have come from traveling, meeting people and relationships. People?s wisdom and life experiences ? that?s what I?m most interested in."

These are some photos from last night?s UK premiere of What To Expect When You?re Expecting. As I expected, Jennifer Lopez was a no-show. She only came to one of the premieres! Probably because she?s such a BIG STAR! Then how to you explain Cameron Diaz?s constant red carpet hustle on behalf of the film? God knows.
Anyway, Cameron was the biggest star on last night?s red carpet. She wore head-to-toe Stella McCartney which? is better in theory than the reality on the carpet. You know how much I loathe Stella?s designs, but I could see how the idea of this worked – smart white trousers and a simple, elegant white strapless top, combined in some kind of jumpsuit-like onesie – only a beautiful woman with a kickass body could make it work. The problem isn?t with Cameron – she?s a beautiful woman with a kickass body. The problem is the cut and length of the trousers (cheap, unflattering) and the weird effect of the top part, which really just seems like a glorified tube top on Camy. I think the jumpsuit fails because it?s a onesie – if it had been separates, the two pieces would have had smarter tailoring.
Cheryl Cole was at the premiere too, and Camy and Cheryl posed together for some reason. Next to Cheryl, Cameron looks great. Probably because Cheryl looks like a busted bride at the mall in this Victoria Beckham dress.
I am a huge fan of Anna Kendrick. I think she?s incredibly talented and adorable. But this girl really needs to find a stylist who knows what they?re doing. She should style herself like Reese Witherspoon?s early Hollywood years, and not try to be? whatever this is. The dress is Christian Dior, and I just don’t think this high-style look fits Anna’s general “cuteness” vibe.

Cameron Diaz is sort of like the Julia Roberts of this generation in that you always hear how every producer wants her for their film but when you ask anybody on the street whether or not they want to to see Cameron Daiz in another movie, all they seem to say is, “What? No! Gahh! Get that picture out of my face!”

Last night was the premiere of What to Expect when You’re Expecting, that ensemble clip show romcom that looks really cringe worthy. I doubt it will be a big success at the box office, but I could be wrong. It could be a mommy daddy date night movie, which it was probably pitched as. Battleship and The Dictator are also out next weekend, and Avengers will probably still be holding on strong, so we’ll see.
So here we have some of the main stars of the film, minus Jennifer Lopez. Why was J.Lo not there last night? Was there some last minute drama with Casper forgetting to take his ADHD medication? I’m really surprised that she wasn’t around, trying to work an inappropriately small dress with a cutout around the waist and styled to the hilt like she’s in one of her music videos. She’s done a lot of press for the film so it’s bizarre to me that she didn’t go to the premiere.
Instead we have Cameron Diaz, dressed way down in a open comfortable-looking white top and loose black pants. She looks like she’s wearing a waitress uniform at a decent restaurant. This is one of those nice-looking casual outfits you throw together for a night out and then realize that you’re dressed exactly like the wait staff, so you try to hold it in and not get up to go to the bathroom. It’s a perfectly nice outfit for a night out with friends, but I don’t think it’s fitting for a premiere. She could have chosen one of those tight short dresses that show off her killer legs.
Cam recently talked to Access Hollywood about growing older and how she thinks it’s cool. Unlike some other actresses I won’t name, it doesn’t sound like she’s blowing smoke. With Gwyneth Paltrow?s abandonment (for Prada), Stella McCartney had to choose another fashion girl to dress for last night?s Met Gala. So? she went with Cameron Diaz. Is Cameron the next choice after Gwyneth? Is that insulting to Cameron? Or Gwyneth? Or both? So, here?s Camy in Stella. I hate to admit it, but this might be one of Stella?s better designs. I like how covered-up Cameron is from the front, with the sexy open back as she?s going. I?m a big advocate for The More Sleeves Movement. We need more sleeves on the red carpet! I get tired of everything strapless all the time.
I even have to compliment Stella McCartney on the fit of this dress on Cameron. You can really see Camy?s wonderful figure, but it doesn?t feel trashy, I think. Does anyone else think Camy has gained some weight? I do. And I think it looks really good on her too. This is also one of the first times I?ve seen Cameron post-boob-job where I can really tell that she?s got bolt-ons. This dress makes her look very busty. As for the styling and such? Cameron?s face looks good. Not too Botoxy or waxy. Her hair?s kind of mess, but it?s a simply, uncomplicated mess. I like her simple jewelry too.
I?m including a photo of Cameron and Stella together. All of the photos claim the woman on the far right is M.I.A. Is that really her? She looks really different. Oh, and Stella looks awful! Why would she wear THAT to the Met Gala?

Taking care of her to-do list, Cameron Diaz was spotted arriving at a studio in Hollywood yesterday afternoon (May 3).
The ?Sweetest Thing? actress was none-too-pleased to see shutterbugs waiting for her, flipping the bird to the paparazzi as she headed inside.
During her interview with Jay Leno on ?The Tonight Show? earlier this week, Cameron confessed that when her friend cut her hair too short recently, she burst into tears.
?There was a little misunderstanding. I said, ?Oh I just want a little bit off? ? and it went from here to here... I just burst into tears and started crying, and I felt so vulnerable. For a woman to all of a sudden have no hair, oh my God.?
Diaz added, ?I felt really bad, she felt really bad, she started crying, I started crying, a couple of other people started crying. I ended up writing her a few emails after, the next couple days, assuring her I wasn?t going to kill her.?

Cameron Diaz covers the June issue of Bazaar UK. You know why? Because she has a part in that horrible-looking What To Expect When You?re Expecting. Sometimes I worry about Camy, I really do. At the end of the day, I really loved her in Bad Teacher, and I think that kind of film is in her wheelhouse – a comedic role where she gets to be dirty/funny and raunchy/silly. Plus, she used to be one of the most in-demand actresses in Hollywood. And now she?s doing a small part in a movie about having babies. Ugh. Anyway, I read some negative comments about this Bazaar photo shoot, but I don?t think it?s that bad. The cover isn?t great, but I like the other photos. In the interview, Camy talks about boys, of course. Specifically, she talks about how much she loves English boys. Girl, don?t even get me started!
On Englishmen: ?I love their sense of humor and the sense of chivalry and charm. It?s something that is innately a part of the culture – we don?t have that over here, it?s not the same in America.?
On Colin Firth: ?(Colin Firth) is the perfect Englishman. Just enough of the self-effacing to a point that it?s comfortable for other people, but also totally charming and engaging to where he makes you feel special. He?s got that British honesty.?
She loves London: ?I love London. I love the Brits, I always have. I have a weak spot for them. I grew up on Monty Python. I love Little Britain. My grandfather used to watch Benny Hill all the time.?
She BFFs with Gwyneth: ?We became very close after my dad?s death. She reached out and it was very sweet. We bonded on that.?

Are you offended that she seems to be saying that she prefers English boys to American boys? I?m kind of meh on that. I?m not going to get all nationalistic about it, maybe because I really like English boys too. And Scottish boys. And Irish boys. And if it really matters to you, it?s not like Cameron is practicing what she?s preaching – she?s always with American boys, from Matt Dillion to Jared Leto to Justin Timberlake to Alex Rodriguez. People keep trying to get her together with Jude Law (sigh, wouldn?t they be good together?), but nothing ever happens.
Oh, and in case you?re wondering why she?s talking about Colin Firth – they just worked together on the remake of Gambit, directed by Joel and Ethan Coen. Alan Rickman and Stanley Tucci are in the movie too. It comes out next year!

Immersing herself in the spotlight ahead of the May 18th release of her new movie "What To Expect When You're Expecting", Cameron Diaz ate up the spotlight during day three of CinemaCon at Caesars Palace is Las Vegas on Wednesday night (April 25).
The 39-year-old actress donned a skintight asymmetrical black dress as she spoke onstage during a Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation dinner honoring DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg with the 2012 Pioneer of the Year Award.
Also on hand for the festivities were Miss Diaz's "The Holiday" co-star Jack Black, as well as "Puss In Boots" actor Antonio Banderas and his lovely wife, Melanie Griffith.
As for selecting Mr Katzenberg as this year's Pioneer of the Year Award recipient, Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation president Ted Cooper told in a statement, "We are honored in our own right to be able to single out someone like Jeffrey Katzenberg."
Cooper added, "When it comes to passion for our industry and compassion for those in our industry who need help, Jeffrey has no equals. He is most deserving of this prestigious accolade. As well we thank our friends at NATO for their continued support as we could not imagine a better forum at which to honor Jeffrey than at CinemaCon 2012.?
