Here are some shots of Gisele Bundchen?s latest ad campaign, for the Summer 2012 line of Esprit. These are some of the most ?undone? ads I?ve ever seen from a modern campaign. I can?t even tell if Gisele is wearing any makeup at all. She probably is, right? Some concealer and powder and stuff. It feels like this is what Gisele looks like when she?s at home with her baby – this is version of Gisele that Tom Brady married. Sort of.
I?ve always had mixed feelings on Gisele?s beauty. I think if I saw her in person, I would find her to be one of those unconventionally beautiful women who depend on lighting and angles. It?s the jolie-laide thing – Gisele can look very masculine at times, and she has some angles which are just? rough. I?m not sure this Esprit campaign really highlights Gisele?s strengths. That being said, with her modeling work, I tend to love Gisele – she reminds me of the models I grew up with, the Cindys and Lindas and Naomis. The girls with a strong ?look?. Say what you will about Gisele, but she unusual beauty has helped her enormously throughout her career. There aren?t that many girls who look like her, just like there will never be another Cindy Crawford or Linda Evangelista.
So, do you like these shots? I like that Gisele was brave enough to do such an ?undone? campaign, and I like the ?realism? of the campaign. But there does feel like something lacking.

I am not a sports person. I am a celebrity-gossip person. I will sit with you and talk about C-list celebrity famewhores for literally HOURS. If you try to talk to me about sports, my eyes will glaze over and I?ll start daydreaming about kittens. I?m just putting that out there, because I think my anti-sports bias is affecting the way I?m reacting to the ongoing Gisele Bundchen controversy.
To recap, shortly after the New England Patriots lost the Super Bowl, Gisele was walking with friends and she got heckled by a Giants fan. Gisele lost her temper, and she said to her friend,?You have to catch the ball when you?re supposed to catch the ball? My husband can not f****ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can?t believe they dropped the ball so many times.? She was caught on camera making this aside to a friend, and it?s debatable as to whether Gisele cared that the camera caught her words. What?s clear is that in Gisele?s mind, her husband?s teammates were the ones who screwed up, not Tom. It was a bitchy thing for Gis to say, but in the grand scheme of dumb, sanctimonious, Goop-tastic crap that has come out of Gisele?s mouth, her Super Bowl comments didn?t even make my top ten.
Now, hours after Gisele made those comments, someone Patriots-

The Patriots lost to the Giants again last night but would have had a much better chance at victory if it wasn’t for three dropped passes during their final drive. Not to worry though, his supermodel wife rushed to his side to comfort him.
?I think it was just the missed opportunities,? Brady said.
Soon he was ushered into a hallway, off to where the podium waited. He went through a side exit, not the main one where his wife, Gisele Bundchen, the Brazilian supermodel, had been waiting.
She heard he?d gotten past her and began sprinting ? in black boots with three-inch heels ? after him. He was 30 yards ahead of her.
?Tommy,? she shouted. ?Tommy! Tommy!?
He didn?t hear her. She finally plowed through the crowd, the lingerie model throwing elbows until she stopped him in mid-stride and offered a big hug, a kiss and a look into Brady?s still-red eyes. Cameras flashed all around them. Yahoo
But not before being heckled by Giants fans who shouted witticisms such as “Eli rules” and “Eli owns your husband” while she was waiting for the elevator. This seemed to have gotten to the Brazilian because said to the people around her.
“My husband can not f****ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can’t believe they dropped the ball so many times.” The Insider(video)
Aw, poor handsome three-time Super Bowl champion/millionaire Mr. Bundchen. You really feel for this guy. What a poor bastard.

Making the most of the day, Gisele Bundchen was seen playing at a public park in Boston, Massachusetts today (December 2).
The Brazilian supermodel was joined by her son Benjamin Brady and stepson John Moynahan as she took in the fresh air and sunshine.
And it sounds like Ms. Bundchen?s bank account is getting yet another boost with the launch of her third collection for C&A.
Gisele, who scored $45 million in salary last year, is on track to become the world?s first billionaire model, according to Forbes.

Enjoying some mommy and son bonding time, Gisele Bundchen and son Benjamin Brady lunched at New York City's Extra Virgin Restaurant on Saturday afternoon (November 19).
Clad in a black leather jacket and dark wash skinny jeans, the model mommy and her adorable 22-month-old looked to be relishing every moment together as they strolled through the city's West Village neighborhood hand-in-hand.
Meanwhile, pal Elle Macpherson recently gushed over Gisele during her interview with Vogue UK.
?I love the way Gisele looks ? She is obviously totally my DNA taste. She?s also really natural looking. She?s growing her brand; she?s staying true to herself; she?s versatile; she?s also a great mum: she?s a cool girl. I like what she represents," Macpherson told the mag.

| | Gisele Bundchen gives modelling lessons to young cancer patients | | Added 14 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The simple fact that many of us love to hate on Gisele Bundchen is easily evidenced by the responses to this recent post, in which the very effusive supermodel just doesn’t seem to realize when she’s leaking not-so-subtle airs of condescension towards the unwashed masses (including her own sisters). Quite simply, the woman has a chronic case of verbal diarrhea and could easily use a few lessons in diplomacy.
I do agree that Gisele doesn’t come off well in print interviews; and certainly, she must be least slightly insufferable in person at times. So when I first heard about Gisele’s surprise visit to children suffering from cancer, my first thought was, “What the hell are these poor kids going to do with modelling lessons?” Yet the story itself turns out to be genuinely sweet and rather moving as well:
She’s known for striding down some of the world’s most famous catwalks, so it was an altogether different kind show for supermodel Gisele Bundchen when she surprised a group of young cancer patients this weekend.
The Brazilian beauty, 31, met the girls - all patients at the Jimmy Fund Clinic at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute - at a Boston salon, where, after a pampering session, she taught them how to strut like a model.
The world-famous fashion figure, ranked 60th in Forbes’ list of Most Powerful Women, was so moved by the experience that she left in tears.
As part of a special Girls’ Weekend Out, the 29 youngsters were treated to hair styling, make-up, manicures and pedicures at Salon Pini & Co. Little did they know they were about to meet the “model of the millennium.”
WEEI show host, John Dennis, helped organise the model’s unexpected appearance through the Gisele’s husband, New England Patriots star, Tom Brady.
Mr Dennis told the Boston Herald about the surprise: “I asked them to turn down the music, and said ‘Can I have your attention, because we’re not done yet. You all look beautiful. This looks like a room of supermodels. I think the only way we could raise the level of supermodel-dom in this room is to bring out the world’s most famous supermodel.’”
Her effect on the patients was special, he said: “I’ve spent some time with the kids from the Jimmy Fund, and the one thing you notice is that there?s a deep and abiding sadness in their eyes. And even today, it was there still. But when she came in, it went away.”
Patient Hannah Baiona, 15, described meeting the Boston-based star. “We all started clapping and everyone was excited… She individually met with us all and gave us each a rose, and gave us each a hug, and we got to take pictures with her. She was mostly saying hi to everyone, being like “It’s nice to meet you! You look so pretty. You look so good!’”
The high school sophomore, who is in remission from Hodgkin’s lymphoma, told the Herald: “We made a fake little catwalk in the salon, and we each walked down it. Then there were three girls that were in wheelchairs, and she strolled them down the catwalk. Another girl and I didn’t want to walk alone, so she waked arm-in-arm with us.”
The supermodel was so moved by meeting the patients that she left the salon in streams of tears.
Mr Dennis said: “Her face was turned away from the kids and she started crying uncontrollably. The tears were streaming down her face. She was emotionally drained. She said ‘I love all of you,’ and got in the elevator before they could see her face. It was unbelievable.”
[From Daily Mail]
If you so desire some pictorial evidence of this event, a few rather blurry Facebook photos are available here, and here is some video footage of Gisele pushing the wheelchairs of these kids down an imaginary runway:
Now here’s the obvious question — did Gisele make this visit out of sheer selflessness, or was she simply trying to improve her public image? At this point, the reason behind her actions really doesn’t matter because she reportedly did grow overwhelmed with emotion, and she definitely did make these kids feel important for the day.
So while Gisele will probably go back to acting like her blissfully pompous self once again in short order, she did a good thing here. Model behavior, if you will.

Gisele Bundchen has opened her mouth again, and there’s sure to be at least a little trouble in the resulting fallout. The Brazilian supermodel covers the December issue of Vogue UK. To date, Gisele (who Kaiser notes is very effusive and, while condescending, probably doesn’t mean to offend) continues to believe that she’s the Best Mother worldwide, who managed to potty train a seven-month old and not turn into a human garbage disposal while she was pregnant. She also pissed off a lot of people by saying that six months of breastfeeding should be mandated but later backtracked (sort of) on those comments. Now, Gisele is talking about breastfeeding again and also about how wonderful her life is because she works so hard at everything. Sounds pretty Goopy so far, right? It’s actually not nearly as bad as some of the things that Gisele has said in the past:
On Husband Tom Brady: He’s such a gentle giant. I’m so proud of him. When I got to watch him play, I’m like this big cheerleder, jumping up and down for him. I was born such a passionate person. I don’t know if that’s my blessing or my curse!
On Living In Boston: I’m a Cancer, see. I’m home-loving. I really enjoy feeling safe, in my own environment, surrounded by the people I love … This place — it’s my oasis. The kung fu I do here, the t’ai chi, it’s like a metaphor for my life … Y’know, my eldest, Jack [as her stepson, John, is called], he’s gonna be starting [kung fu] this fall.
On Her Breastfeeding Stance: Well, it’s a personal decision. You have to honour what feels right and, for me, it was never even an option I’d do it otherwise. I mean, isn’t that what our bodies are meant to do? Isn’t that the great thing about being a woman? It’s funny, I only realised it when I saw the videotape afterwards, but I was actually ‘omming’ during the [birthing] process. The closest thing I could compare it to is an out-of-body experience — but I guess people who don’t meditate wouldn’t really know what that means.
On Being The Best Mother Ever: My children, they are like white canvases. When Benjamin eats broccoli, he thinks it’s dessert!
On Her Amazing Body: Yeah, well. Like I tell my five sisters, who don’t work at it very hard at all, whatever you put in, you get out. I’m not afraid of working hard at anything, whatever it is. I just always want to be the best that I can.
On How Modelling Is, Like, Hard: You have to understand. I was a country girl, and I came into the world with all this attention on me. All I was doing was trying to take some pictures and make a living, y’know, and I didn’t know how to handle it. Yes, I was successful and all these wonderful things were happening, but I was working 360 days a year, and when I started waking up every morning miserable, I just had to say enough is enough, no more!
On Putting Herself First: People think if you look after yourself you’re being selfish, you know. But what Tom taught me — and he is a living example of this — is that in order to be your best, you have to honour your own needs first. If I honour my needs first, I will be the best wife, the best mom, the best sister, the best friend. I have to come first, because then everyone benefits.
[From Vogue UK]
Oh, I’m sure her sisters will absolutely love to read this interview. On the “broccoli as dessert” thing, I sort of see where she’s coming from. A lot of how-to books generally advise feeding babies vegetables before fruit so that they don’t hate veggies after enjoying the tastier stuff. However, you can’t hide sweets from children forever, and little Benjamin will one day realize that mommy pulled a fast one on him. Subsequently, he’ll go buck wild by gorging himself on about a dozen cupcakes and causing Gisele to competely freak out. And yes, she will freak out. I’ll never forget the look on my daughter’s face (seriously, she gave me the side eye) at her first birthday party when grandma spoonfed her some ice cream. Luckily, she’s since learned moderation, but I can only imagine what a mess it would’ve been if I hadn’t allowed her to have sweets and then she discovered them once she started school. Let that be a lesson to Gisele, not that she’d listen.
Still, I do quite like Gisele as a model although I’ll admit to not knowing what the hell is going on in this editorial fashion spread, which was photographed by Mario Testino. Is it the late 1980s all over again? What a day-glo nightmare.
