It?s nice to check in with Hilary Duff every now and then. She?s pretty harmless! Hilary covers the new issue of Redbook to promote?? Your guess is as good as mine. Let?s see? over the summer, she released a new album, and she?s currently starring in the TV show Younger. Not bad. Hilary is also a mom to son Luca, and her marriage to Mike Comrie is totally over. That?s what she?s talking about with Redbook ? her current views on marriage, ?having it all,? and how the media treated her after she had a baby. Some highlights:
On the way the press treated her post-baby body: ?After I had Luca, I went out to, like, the breast-pump store?I was still huge?and I just had a comfortable outfit on. And the next day [in the tabloids] it was like, ?Hilary debuts post-baby bod!? And I was like, ?That?s not a debut! That?s an errand!? It was such a happy time that honestly I didn?t care; it wasn?t until later that I realized how mean and invasive it was.?
On mom guilt: ?It?s hard to say that you really can have it all. I think you can to a certain degree, but fully loaded, pedal-all-the-way-down is tough. You?re missing out on something, either on the career or on the family. When I?m really busy with work, I feel extremely guilty.?
If she?ll ever get married again: ?I don?t want to say I wouldn?t get married again, but it?s not important to me. I don?t feel I would need to be married to have another child. If I felt strongly enough toward someone or if someone felt strongly about it, I might say okay. But it?s not essential.?

I think the fact that she and Comrie didn?t have a clean, no-drama split is one of the big reasons why she?s so meh on marriage. After they announced their split, they spent months trying to rekindle their relationship, only to have the whole thing blow up earlier this year when Comrie was caught trying to drunkenly pay a woman for a hookup. It was messy and just my opinion, Hilary is still dealing with that. Or hey, maybe this is who she is now. The thing is, she?s not alone. A historic number of women these days don?t really care about marriage or getting the ring (and I?m one of them).

It looks like she made good use of her time out of the spotlight, because Hilary Duff is back and hotter than ever.
The 27-year-old ?Cheaper By The Dozen? star is featured on the front of SHAPE magazine?s May 2015 issue, sporting a beautiful smile and some killer abs.
Of her new TV Land show ?Younger,? Duff explains, "I embrace the mess. I had to be careful not to screw up in public as a child actor. So on my new show, Younger?which is written by Darren Star, who created Sex and the City?it?s really fun for me to play Kelsey, a 27-year-old book editor whose personal life is a hot mess. She always chooses the wrong guy, drinks way too much, and has to cover for herself the next morning." Hilary also shares her fitness philosophy- "I don?t do auto-gym. I go three times a week and mix it up every time. I work out with weighted balls, battle ropes, and big rubber bands. I do this thing with a sledgehammer where I swing it and hit a rubber block, and it gets out all of my aggressions. Everyone is like, 'Uh-oh, Hilary?s got the hammer?get out of the way!'?

Here is Hilary Duff?s new Shape Magazine cover. Shape Mag is already being accused of Photoshopping Hilary?s abs, but they look legit enough for me. I appreciate the fact that the magazine didn?t ?Shop her into oblivion and she looks like herself. In the interview, she talks about diet and exercise, of course. Some highlights:
She hates diets: ”I’d rather have someone pull my fingernails off than hunker down and go on an actual diet. ‘I work out with weighted balls, battle ropes, and big rubber bands. ‘I do this think with a sledge-hammer where I swing it and hit a rubber block, and it gets out all of my aggressions. Everyone is like, ‘Uh-oh, Hilary’s got the hammer – get out of the way!”’

I like Hilary?s figure a lot ? she looks realistic to me, like a woman who enjoys solid food and works hard at the gym. Now, can I feel Hilary?s THIRST from here? Always. But she?s pretty harmless.
Meanwhile, TMZ reports that Hilary?s ex-husband (estranged husband?) Mike Comrie is now fighting her for joint custody of their son Luca. Hilary and Mike split up a few years ago, but they genuinely seemed to be working on their marriage and on the cusp of reconciling when Comrie got drunk and offered to pay a random woman for sex. After that, Hilary and Mike split for good and Hilary filed for primary physical custody of Luca, with Comrie only getting ?visitation.? TMZ says Comrie ?responded to her divorce filing, and is demanding joint custody.? Apparently, they?ve worked out the financial part of their divorce per their prenup and the custody issue is the only sticking point. Hilary is allegedly ?worried about Mike’s parenting due to his partying ways.?
