Feeling the fallout from her actions, Jaime Pressly has officially been charged with two counts of driving under the influence.
The actress was dealt the legal challenges by the Santa Monica City Attorney stemming from an arrest made during a traffic stop last month.
If found guilty, Miss Pressly faces six months of lockup in the county jail along with fines and a license suspension.
The legal woes come just after the "My Name Is Earl" star filed for divorce from her entertainment lawyer husband Simran Singh.

2011 just isn’t Jaime Pressly’s year — only three weeks in, and she’s already been arrested for DUI and split from husband of 16 minutes months Simran Singh. Us Magazine says:
Less than three weeks after the My Name is Earl actress, 33, was arrested on suspicion of a DUI, multiple sources confirm she and entertainment lawyer husband Simran Singh are calling it quits.
“They are done,” an insider [said] of the pair, who wed in September 2009. “It’s over. I don’t think they have officially filed anything yet though.
He seemed like a good guy but he is super full of himself and puts her down for everything. He picks fights with her for any little thing.”
That just goes to show you how coddled celebrities are. Picking fights and pointing out your spouse’s many faults what marriage is all about. It’s supposed to feel like someone hog-tied you to fencepost, kicked you in the chest until they got tired, then went to their car and got a tire iron, and then came back and whaled on you with the tire iron while passively-aggressively yelling things like, “Maybe I could love you if you could get an erection!” before they left you for dead and let crows peck out your eyes. If you’re not choking down rage and despair, you’re not doing it right. That’s why God made alcohol.

In the midst of a serious tax issue, Jaime Pressly was spotted lunching in Santa Monica, CA over the weekend (January 22).
The ?My Name is Earl? gal looked cute in jeans and a hat as she hung out with a group of friends and enjoyed the mid-afternoon meal.
According to FOX News, Pressly has been accused of owing more than $637,000 in state and federal taxes.
The IRS filed a $260,370 tax lien on December 6 against the Emmy-winning star while the US government tax agency also filed a $281,699 tax lien on September 8 for 2008 income taxes. And on June 21 the state of California filed a $95,080 lien in Los Angeles.
Aside from the tax snafu, Jaime was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of driving drunk in Santa Monica.

Jaime Pressly may seem like she has it all, but the woman is clearly hurting. She was arrested for DUI earlier this month and now it’s coming out that she owes money to the tax man and is breaking up with her husband of just over a year, entertainment lawyer Simran Singh. The breakup story is in this week’s In Touch and is unconfirmed for now, but the tax issue is pretty much public record:

The My Name Is Earl star, who is married to entertainment attorney Simran Singh, is in arrears to the tune of just over $637,000 in Federal and state taxes.
That’s according to public records uncovered by The Detroit News.
Here’s the break-down. The IRS filed a $260,370 tax lien filed against her on December 6.
This was on top of the $281,699 lien the IRS had filed against her September 8, which was for 2008 income taxes.
And just to round things out, another lien was filed against her by the State of California in the amount of $95,080. That went on the books June 21. - From Radar

The breakup of her marriage really sucks for Jaime, but it makes me think so much less of her after she got a DUI and failed to pay her taxes. What is wrong with all these celebrities that they can’t pay taxes like the rest of us schmucks? According to IMDB she has some projects coming out, and she’s also currently starring in some dumb Axe commercials showing guys how to “clean their [sports] balls so they’re more enjoyable to play with.” I’m serious and I just wasted two and a half minutes of my life watching one of the dumbest double entendres commercials I’ve ever seen. I hope she had to do it for the money.

In yet another unfortunate case of life imitating art, former “My Name Is Earl” star Jamie Pressly was arrested last night on suspicion of DUl. TMZ says:
Jaime Pressly was driving in Santa Monica at around 11PM when she was stopped. Cops took notice of her vehicle after she allegedly committed a traffic violation.
A field sobriety test was performed and Jaime was arrested and booked on suspicion of DUI.
She was taken to the Santa Monica jail and held on $15,000 bail.
Whoa, whoa, whoa — fifteen grand? Any seasoned alcoholic will tell you they only set bail that high if you’re also carrying drugs or your kids in the car. So which was it?
Law enforcement [say] there were no drugs in Jaime’s car [and] no children were in the car. And there was no car accident.
The only other circumstance in which bail is set at $15,000 — the normal amount is $5,000 — is when the driver’s blood-alcohol level is higher than .15.
We have not, however, been able to confirm Jaime’s level.
For those of you who don’t drink (booooo!), a BAC of .15 is the equivalent of five glasses of wine in about an hour. Or as I like to call it, “lunch.” The good thing about having blood alcohol levels that high is that you never have to worry about getting separated from your group. If they lose you, your friends can just follow the trail of piss and puke Hansel and Gretl-style back to whoever’s bed you passed out in. That’s why the Date Rape hotline says there’s safety in numbers.

Adding to the number of celebrities dealing with legal issues, Jaime Pressly was arrested last night because she was suspected to be driving drunk.
The ?My Name is Earl? babe was picked up in Santa Monica around 11pm for committing a traffic violation.
Once the police pulled her over, they gave her a field sobriety test and subsequently arrested her.
From there, Pressly was taken to a Santa Monica jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
