Normally when you say, “Hollywood actress in a bikini”, that’s a good thing. Unfortunately if you’re Kirsten Dunst, it elicits a reaction less “Oooh” and more “Ehhhhh” or downright “Ewwww”. Porcelain skin works on some people, but if it’s attached to Snaggletooth here, it’s more like someone dredged up some pasty creature of the deep that’s never seen the light of day. I’d imagine that even if fair Venus emerged from the sea, she’d wrinkle her patrician nose and poke the offending creature with a stick.

| Kirsten Dunst's new love for spray tans: 'You lose like five pounds immediately' | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Kirsten Dunst covers the December issue of Lucky Mag, and she looks pretty great on the cover. Granted, this hot Pink and black number is nothing that I’d ever be able to pull off, but Kiki wears it well, and she looks really good with the benefit of a good stylist. The accompanying interview is a mixed bag, and it’s fairly obvious that this poor journalist came at the tail end of the Melancholia promotion because Kirsten makes it very clear that she’s sick of talking about the movie. However, Kiki does reveals a bit more about her distaste for the red carpet as well as a bit more about her discomfort during director Lars von Trier’s infamous Cannes Nazi rant. Also, she’s apparently a spray-tan convert now:
On Not Calling It A “Comeback”: “Just don’t write the ‘she’s back!’ thing. I wasn’t ever away! Sorry I wasn’t in Spiderman 4 a year after I was in Spiderman 3! You know what else I don’t like? Most people ask me questions based on a previous interview. That’s not an interview. It’s like they’re just saying my quotes back to me. And at this point, you can’t ask me about Melancholia because I only have my go-to answers in my head.”
On What She Whispered To Lars von Trier At Cannes: “I just said, ‘Come on, Lars,’ or something like that. What was I supposed to say? There were a lot of us up there and I feel like if [my costars John Hurt or Stellan Skarsgard] had said something it would have been easier. I think one of the guys could have been like, ‘All right, Lars’ or made a joke out of it. We were all in shock.”
More On Her Red Carpet Phobia: “I hate red-carpet photographs! It’s such flat lighting! They take away my cheekbones-I just become a moonface. I hate those photos so much. I always look terrible. And they don’t know angles on faces. There is no artistry to it. It’s like-” Dunst does an impression of what can only be called a lobotomy patient taking a picture. “I hate them!”
On Her New Obsession With Spray Tans: Dunst, who says she has “the kind of skin that you touch and it gets red,” recently discovered spray tans. “You lose like five pounds immediately, and your face is glowing and gorgeous!” It’s fun to watch Dunst continuously cast herself in these one-minute roles. Talking about self-tanner, she becomes a mini opera star, puffing up her chest and opening her hands like she’s going to belt it to the mezzanine level. “I look amaziiiiiiing! I did it for my last movie. Then Isla saw me and was like, ‘I’m gonna get spray-tanned too!’ I only did it twice so I’m tan in like two scenes and super-pale in the rest of the film.”
On Settling Down: “I thought when I reached 30 I’d have a lot more figured out. Until you have a kid, you’re just looking for your partner. And guys have a Peter Pan vibe. They’re 35 and they act like they’re 25. That’s what scares me about being in my 30s: not finding someone to have kids with. I can’t wait to relive life in a little kid’s way. I’m so ready for that lifestyle: Get a little place upstate and have them go to school up there.”
[From Lucky Mag]
Hmm, Kiki with a spray tan? This is something that I simply must see at some point. Oddly enough, I’ve very recently started using a very subtle tanning lotion (not a Snooki shade at all) for fair skin, and it makes a great deal of difference in my eyes as well as those who have witnessed the effect. For the first time in my life, I don’t look like a corpse, which is what I imagine that Kirsten is also attempting to describe here in her own enthusiastic way.
Meanwhile, Kirsten looks quite fresh and pretty in this photoshoot, which polishes her up as more of a classic beauty rather than the grungy look that she tends to favor during her off-work time. The interviewer even notes that “Dunst has a short, dark manicure and smudgy last-night makeup” during their talk. Kiki can be so gorgeous, but the day-old makeup thing would sort of kill it for me.

Kirsten Dunst really seems to have matured in the past few years. She’s looking well put together and sober lately, where she’s had some serious fashion missteps in the past. In an appearance on Ellen yesterday, Kirsten was funny, self-deprecating and open. She told some funny stories and even got serious for a moment and spoke in general terms about battling depression. Kirsten went to rehab for “depression” in 2008, and insisted that it was not for “drug or alcohol abuse.” The way she explained it in 2008, she “was struggling,” and “had the opportunity to go somewhere and take care of myself.” On Ellen, Kirsten said something similar about how fame kind of drained her, but that she was not really comfortable discussing her bout with depression. She was gracious and handled the subject well. Kirsten also said that she’ll do promotion for her films, but that she doesn’t go to events as she feels uncomfortable. She also admitted that she lives with her mom, and joked about having to brush cat litter out of her bed! I’m really warming to her. Here’s more:
On her career break
I definitely took a little bit of a break. Also, when you’re in your 20s you’ve got to figure things out and take a step back… it reinspired what I do.
On depression
It?s not something I don’t feel like totally comfortable talking about. It?s a very personal thing I dealt with.
On being sensitive in the business
As an actress, you?re supposed to be sensitive and vulnerable and have this side to you. But then you’re supposed to be like super sociable and ‘on’ and like, nice to everybody. That?s a weird dichotomy. It?s a lot to ask of a person. It?s not a normal thing.
On going to events
I avoid the red carpet as much as possible. You have to do it to promote your movies obviously, but you won’t see me at an event for the sake of it.
On living with her mom
I’m in New York. But right now I’m at my mom’s house… My mom, my grandma, my aunt’s there visiting and my cousins live there. Three generations of ladies and three cats. So things are really looking up for me.
On having the cat litter in her bedroom
I have the worst bedroom. Downstairs near the garage. I’m leaving the cat litter box out of there. Because there was like granules on my bed and when I got out of the shower, melting cat littler. It’s hard to keep clean.
That’s hysterical! She has a great attitude about living with her family. She probably has a house in LA too anyway. It sounds like she’s in such a good place in her life.
Ellen told Kirsten, who won best actress at Cannes this year, that she’ll probably get an Academy Award nomination for Melancholia. She also inevitably asked her about director Lars Von Trier’s Nazi comments that got him booted from the film festival. Kirsten explained “He was so nervous and he just got started on a tangent and then wouldn’t stop. So it was like watching your friend just put their foot in their mouth deeper and deeper and deeper. I was so embarrassed for him.” She also explained that Von Trier was trying to make a joke. “YouTube it, my face is actually pretty funny.”
Later on in the show, Ellen and Kirsten played Guesstures with the audience. It was funny as hell and Kirsten really rolled with it. Whatever she went through, she’s come out the other side and she’s better than ever. I’d love to see her in more films.

| Kirsten Dunst in printed Dolce & Gabbana: beautiful or busted? | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are photos of Kirsten Dunst at two different event for the AFI Fest over the weekend. The photos of Kiki where she?s wearing the orange-red printed dress are from last night?s AFI premiere of Lars Von Trier?s Melancholia. Alas, no Alex Skarsgard at the premiere. It seems like Kiki is promoting this film on her own, for whatever reason. It?s not like the film is hated or anything - in fact, Kiki?s performance has been widely praised, and she won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival too. Anyway, the photos of Kiki in black leather are from the ?Young Hollywood? roundtable discussion at the AFI Fest.
The printed orange-red dress is Dolce & Gabbana, the black leather one is Derek Lam. Recently, I?ve been praising Kiki more and more because she seems to be putting more effort into looking polished and adult on red carpets. Her style can still get kind of funky and ?precious,? but I think Kiki is off of the harder stuff and she?s trying to get her career back on track. Did I mention I recently watched that film that she did with Ryan Gosling, All Good Things? The movie was weird, but Kiki was really, really good in it. I forget sometimes that she?s a more than capable actress.
Anyway, this is a fashion post. Which dress do you like more, or is this a ?neither? situation. I think the black leather Lam dress is too much for a soft, dimply blonde. Even with the poofy skirt. But I really, really like the D&G on her - very pretty.

Despite what the arm bruise and trailer park makeup suggest, this is not one of those Faces of Meth photos. It’s Kirsten Dunst at the L.A. Times Young Hollywood Panel today. I’m just glad somebody finally had the foresight to harness the titty-flattening prowess of a butcher’s smock and turn it into a dress. It’s really been a long time coming.

Kicking off the day with a media appearance, Kirsten Dunst was spotted at ABC Studios in New York City this morning (November 3).
The ?Crazy/Beautiful? actress was in the house to promote her new movie ?Melancholia? in which she plays an eccentric would-be bride.
Of her experience working on the film, Kirsten explained, ?For me, every film that I do, I definitely draw from my own experiences. And then the way I work is almost like character therapy between me and who I?m playing... it is an emotional journey because this film and the director I was working with made it easy for me to be open and be very present.?
?It was so freeing. It was literally like doing a play sometimes- we?d just roll, you wouldn?t know where the camera was. We?d improvise and it would roll for like 10 minutes and you wouldn?t know what was coming out of it and you could change it completely each time. So it was very inspiration as an actress to have that freedom.?

| Kirsten Dunst becomes a German citizen, wants to move to Berlin | Added 13 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
I realize that a lot of you will be like “meh,” with this story. Since I lived in Berlin for about four and a half years, I wanted to report on it. Apparently Kirsten Dunst recently became a German citizen. That was probably quite simple for her, because her dad is German and she can show that she has the means to support herself. She admits she can’t really speak the language and that’s one of the requirements for people without German parents who want to get naturalized. Kirsten is really excited about it, and she told People that she thinks Berlin is awesome and that she wants to move there.
The actress, 29, shares her German roots with the German tabloid B.Z., revealing that she now has German citizenship ? in addition to her U.S. citizenship.
“I’m now a real international lady,” she says,”one who can film in Europe without a problem.”
Dunst’s dream? “It would be the greatest joy for me to act in a German film,” she says.
Dunst, who stars in Melancholia, the new film by Danish director Lars von Trier, added that she even speaks German ? though “at a child’s level.” (Her father is German and her mother Swedish.)
She also says she frequently visits her relatives in Hamburg but enjoys an even larger city.
“I would prefer to buy an apartment in Berlin,” she says. “It’s such a young city, and right now so much is happening in Berlin.”
[From People]
Berlin is cool and there’s plenty to do. I really enjoy it there. Honestly my favorite part is that I can drive around the whole city and find parking without a problem. There are so many different neighborhoods and of course there’s great public transportation, but I love that I can drive anywhere and not worry about it.
To me though, once you move someplace, anyplace, it stops being awesome. Like it just becomes where you live and you always find things that you miss from back home. I tell people I lived in Switzerland for a couple years and they’re like “wow,” but I just say it’s not as great as you think. I don’t find bragging rights in it. Even if you absolutely love going to a tropical island, like that’s your idea of paradise, if you ever move there you will notice that there are trade offs. Now that I’ve moved back to the states, I find that there are a lot of things I miss about Germany, though. There really is no Shangri-La, unless you are on vacation somewhere. (Or are one of those people who is psyched about life every day. That’s not really me.)
Getting back to Kirsten, though, she seems like she’s doing great. She went through a rough patch about three years ago with rehab, drinking issues and depression but she’s been looking pulled together lately and she sounds happy. A move to Berlin might be great for her and for her career. There’s a huge film industry in that area and I’m sure plenty of directors would be glad to have her. Plus it’s not like she’s me and can’t afford to travel whenever she gets bored. She’ll stay in Berlin when she feels like it, drink a lot of great beer, and go back to the states when she misses it. The lucky bitch.

One of the many movies being screened at the annual cinema showcase, the stars were out for the premiere of "Melancholia" at the 2011 New York Film Festival on Monday night (October 3).
Joining in on the festivities were "True Blood" hunk Alexander Skarsgard and "Spider-Man" actress Kirsten Dunst, as the co-stars teamed up with Charlotte Gainsbourg to greet fans lining the arrivals area at the Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center venue.
Directed by Lars von Trier, the sci-fi/drama is about "two sisters who find their already strained relationship challenged as a mysterious new planet threatens to collide into the Earth."
Also starring Kiefer Sutherland, John Hurt and Alexander's father, Stellan Skarsgard, "Melancholia" is set to be released on November 11, 2011.

These people lining up to see Meloncholia are going to feel pretty stupid when they realize they didn’t have to pay $15 just to see Kirsten Dunst’s boobs. They could have come here to see them for free. Give yourself a pat on the back. You’re the smart ones, my friends. Don’t say I never did anything nice for you.
