Here is Kirsten rocking an autumnal olive-green leather dress on the red carpet for FX’s ‘Fargo’ premiere at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood, California.
On the second season of FX’s drama, which is set in 1979 Luverne, Minn., Dunst plays Peggy Blumquist, a hairdresser married to Ed (Friday Night Lights’ Jesse Plemons), who wants nothing more than to have a passel of kids with her and own the local butcher shop. Unfortunately, Peggy is not quite that content.

It?s interesting to realize that Garrett Hedlund and Kirsten Dunst have been together for more than three years. They met while filming On the Road, and they?ve been together ever since. Over the years, there were a few tabloid stories here and there about drama and/or engagements, but overall, they?ve been a pretty low-key, stable couple. Judging Dunst from her interviews, she seems to want to be a wife and mother, but she?s patiently waiting for Garrett to get there. And maybe it?s happened? Star Magazine said Garrett might have finally popped the question:
It looks like Garrett Hedlund and Kirsten Dunst may soon be walking down the aisle. After dating for three and a half years, the 32-year-old Tron star popped the question to his 33-year-old girlfriend, according to a Wednesday report from Star magazine.
An insider insisted the couple threw a party ‘for 50 of their closest friends and family at their home in LA’ to celebrate the news. According to the source, the Bring It On starlet ‘already calls him her husband.’ The wedding will take place sometime in 2016, according to the weekly.
His rep denied the story to the magazine.
It was also alleged that the two are interested in starting a family down the line.
‘They’ve hinted that they’re ready to become parents,’ said the pal. ‘If all goes according to plan, by this time next year they’ll be married and Kirsten will be pregnant!’

If they already ?feel married,? then whatever, that?s fine and that’s their business. I just don?t believe that ?feeling married? is what Kirsten wants. I really do believe she wants the ring and she wants a baby and that Garrett was/is the one pumping the brakes on all of that. I mean, they aren?t kids anymore ? she?s 33 years old and he?s 30, and they?ve been together for more than three years. Either propose to her or figure out something else! But hey, maybe he did propose and they did have an engagement party and Hedlund?s rep just denies everything out of hand.

Kirsten Dunst covers the September issue of Town & Country. It?s a decent shoot and she looks lovely. I?m sort of back in love with Kiki these days because I?m really looking forward to Fargo Season 2, and word is that Kirsten is wonderful in it, like she?s fulfilling the acting promise she had so many years ago. I also think it?s so smart for her to move into television, especially an already-acclaimed show like Fargo. I?m including the trailer for Season 2 at the end of the post! Anyway, Kiki chats about her boyfriend Garrett Hedlund (lucky girl) and much more with T&C. Some highlights:
Kirsten Dunst on the expectations of actors: ?What people expect of an actor is totally ridiculous. It?s unfair that an artist is expected to speak really well in public and have skin tough enough to withstand sometimes really hurtful criticism, but also, in order to do the job, be really sensitive and in touch with their feelings. So all you can do is be yourself ? just be who the hell you are.?
On how she used to be discouraged by the boys club mentality in Hollywood: ?You know what? I felt that way when I was younger, particularly being on the Spider-Man sets, which was pretty much all guys. But the older I get, the less I feel that way. What I?ve found is that the cool guys now want to hang out with the cool girls.?
On her boyfriend, actor Garrett Hedlund: ?We?ve been together for three and a half years, so, yes, it?s going really well. We?re the same age. We have similar backgrounds. He feels like family to me.?
On her character in FX?s Fargo, Peggy Blomquist, the mile-a-minute talking beautician, and the women in her family: ?She is very much like me at my craziest, my mother at her craziest, my grandma at her craziest. I could really combine the nutsiest parts of the women in my family. Some of the things [my grandma] would say, how she said them?I had a lot of that inside me already.?
Moving to TV: “TV is a lot harder than film. A lot harder. When I got the part, my friend Lizzy [Caplan], who is on Masters of Sex, said, ‘Be sure to get B12 shots to get you through the week.’ I was like, ‘Really? That sounds very dramatic, Lizzy.’ By the third week I was all over the B12. It was one of the best roles I’ve ever played?the writing is spectacular?but by the end I was tapped out.”
Child stardom: “I know some young actresses who are better at it. Dakota Fanning reminds me a lot of myself, but she’s wiser than I was at her age.”

The whole interview is pretty good and the vibe I get from her is that she?s in a very happy, contented place in her life. One of her directors says something about how she?s done the movie star thing and now she?s consciously moving into character acting, which sounds about right. And it?s a very smart move for her. She and Garrett seem to be going strong too, which is nice.

The ?Crazy/Beautiful? babe explains, ?What people expect of an actor is totally ridiculous. It wasn’t too long ago that actors considered television to be a major step down from movies. Nowadays, everyone wants a show because tv is cool again. Preferably a cable show where the really dirty, bloody stuff goes down, and audiences get all riled up on social media. FX’s Fargo was a big hit last season with viewers, and it received lots of awards show love too.
Like True Detective, Fargo will shake up its cast every season. According to rumor, one cast member will return for the 2nd season, and no one knows who that will be yet. It definitely won’t be the shifty Billy Bob Thornton or the awesome Allison Tolman. Casting news for the season is starting to roll out, and FX has announced its two leads: Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons. If you watched Breaking Bad, you’ll know Jesse as “Meth Damon” (thanks, CB). This is a big move for Kirsten, who is new to television (other than guest appearances). The new season will feature a jump back in time:
FX has found its new Fargo leading duo.
Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons will topline the second season of Noah Hawley’s FX anthology, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Production will begin in Calgary in January with the 10-episode series set to premiere next fall on FX. Hawley will return as showrunner with exec producers including Joel and Ethan Coen, Warren Littlefield and John Cameron. Additional castings are expected to be announced soon.
The sophomore season will revisit the 1979 Sioux Falls incident referenced in the freshman run’s “A Fox, a Rabbit, and a Cabbage” episode when Molly’s (Allison Tolman) father Lou Solverson (Keith Carradine) was still a state trooper. Season two will take place in Fargo, N.D., Sioux Falls, S.D., and Luverne, Minn., Hawley said, with a new actor coming in to play the younger Lou character.
Dunst will star as Peggy Blomquist, a beautician with big-city dreams who is trying to figure out who she really is and what she really wants as she struggles with societal expectations.
Plemons will play Ed, Peggy’s husband and a butcher’s assistant who wants to be supportive of his wife’s self-discovery — even if he doesn’t quite understand it.
Fargo, which earned the Emmy for outstanding miniseries, has become one of TV’s hottest properties as A-list actors flock to the small screen for roles in anthology series like True Detective and American Horror Story. The approach has worked well for the networks, luring viewers in an increasingly competitive DVR landscape and generating awards season cachet.

This sounds like a wise move for Kirsten. She’s had a taste of television, and now she’ll anchor a whole season. I think she will easily be able to play a frustrated citizen of Fargo, yearning to break free. Does anyone else ever freeze their butts off as they watch this show? It always makes me feel so cold. I hope Kirsten doesn’t mind the cold, as the show shoots in Canada.
Now I can’t get “Meth Damon” out of my head. Once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

Kristen Dunst covers the new issue of Red and I?m sure her interview is going to make Garrett Hedlund squirm a little bit. Garrett and Kiki have been together about two years. By most accounts, they are solid. There were some reports of some relationship trouble last year, but they?re still together and it seems like Garrett is very happy with her. I tend to think Garrett?s star is on the rise and it will continue to be on the rise in the years to come. Meanwhile, Kiki?s star is in decline, partly by choice (she doesn?t seem to want to work as much) and partly by Hollywood not caring that much about her. It?s almost hard to believe she?s only 32 ? she did so much in her teens and 20s. Anyway, Kiki told Red that she?s all about babies these days. Is she trying to publicly pressure Garrett into getting her pregnant?
Kirsten Dunst has babies on the brain.
“I’m in baby mode because two of my really good friends are pregnant right now,” she tells Red in its September issue, on sale Aug. 7. “One of them is pretty chilled and the other’s like, ‘I can’t wait to have a glass of wine!’ I love it though. We’ve already picked her girl’s name, it’s done! I think 33 is a good age to have your first baby.”
Dunst, 32, is spending the summer in London with actor boyfriend Garrett Hedlund, but she doesn’t admit to having any plans for marriage or children at the moment.
“You don’t know what’s going to happen in the next 10 years. But I get asked that question a lot because I’m in my thirties and it’s like: time to get married and have babies, right? That’s the vibe. Well, I already have a mother to ask those questions, so nobody else needs to!”
For now, Dunst says she’s quite fond of just kicking back.
“I’m not as worried as I used to be. When I was younger, if I wasn’t working, I would get anxiety. I’d feel like I should be doing something. But now, I’m so good at chilling out. In my thirties I’ve become really good friends with relaxing,” she says.
“I have a girlfriend who lives in London ? one of the ones who’s pregnant ? and we sit in bed all day, watching movies and ordering food in. Not everyone can do that. Some people are like, ‘I have to get outside, I have to do something.’ And I’m like, ‘I’m actually fine not doing anything.’ I lost that part of myself. I’m sure one day, if I have kids, the anxiety of life will come back again, because you’re worried about somebody else.”

I kind of like her for talking about this openly rather than ?surprising? Garrett by getting pregnant out of the blue. You can see her working through it in the public sphere. Garrett is a farm boy and by all accounts, he?s pretty low-key and he seems like a good guy. Maybe they should have a baby. And we can see if Kirsten practices what she preaches and begins to conform to those 1950s gender stereotypes that she believes ?work? for all people.

After an enjoyable evening out on the town, Kirsten Dunst and Garrett Hedlund stepped out of Chiltern Firehouse in London, England on Wednesday (May 13).
The Hollywood pair ignored the awaiting shutterbugs as they headed into their ride and back to their hotel.

Kirsten Dunst still has the power to wow, as she proved when she attended the premiere of her latest film The Two Faces Of January at the Curzon Mayfair.
The actress turned up the glam factor, yet skipped the gown, in a Vivienne Westwood black cap-sleeve dress with gathered and draped detailing throughout and at the side.
She enhanced the LBD with ankle-strap, pointy pumps and a stunning red-carpet-red lip, along with side-swept blonde waves.
The frock may not have photographed as well as it could have, what with the sheen of the dress. Still I can appreciate Kirsten?s simple yet dramatic beauty approach and styling.
