Last month, Sarah Michelle Gellar confirmed that she was reprising her role as the ruthless Kathryn Merteuil for NBC?s upcoming reboot of the 1999 movie Cruel Intentions. Just in case you didn’t think she was serious, Gellar shared some photos on her Instagram that confirmed her commitment to the project.
Gellar, 38, shared a photo of her newly-brunette locks (for her Cruel Intentions character) with the caption, “#brownhairdontcare (actually kind of love it!!) thank you everyone.”

Some people say “you can never go back,” but Sarah Michelle Gellar is returning to one of her more memorable roles (no, not Buffy). The 38-year-old actress, whom we haven’t seen much of since her series The Crazy Ones was cancelled, has signed on to reprise her role as the wicked and cunning Kathryn Merteuil on NBC’s upcoming reboot of the 1999 movie Cruel Intentions.
When the network announced the show back in December, it was mentioned that Sarah’s character would play a part in the series, but now the actress is officially on board. She used #tbt to post a “then and now” photo on Instagram with Cruel director Roger Kumble and executive producer Neal Moritz. The caption read in part, “#kathrynmerteuil is back!!! I am happy to say that I will be joining them (and @nbctv) on the new #Crueltv.” Side note: Sarah sure has aged well, she looks great.

The ?Cruel Intentions? star went up against viral video sensation Whitney Avalon, who played ?Beauty and the Beast? character Belle, declaring, ?Another princess in my shadow come to covet my crown. You clowns wanna throw down with the best in a gown? These girls are trippin' did they cut off their toes? I deserve all the praise for the foot-fetish craze. I've got itty-bitty kicks but legs for days.?
However, Whitney fired back, ?Your tale as old as time sets us back fifty years. Do your chores, clean the floors 'til a man just appears? You're shallow and obsessed with looks and how you're dressed. You wanna live like Gaston? Please be our guest.?

It was less than 24 hours ago that the world lost Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar has released a statement to share her thoughts as she mourns the late actor.
Of her ?The Crazy Ones? costar, SMG told people, ?My life is a better place because I knew Robin Williams.?
?To my children he was Uncle Robin, to everyone he worked with, he was the best boss anyone had ever known, and to me he was not just an inspiration but he was the Father I had always dreamed of having.?
?There are not enough adjectives to describe the light he was, to anyone that ever had the pleasure to meet him. I will miss him every day, but I know the memory of him will live on. And to his family, I thank them for letting us know him and seeing the joy they brought him. Us crazy ones love you.?
?God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.?

This is the first known selfie of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. I love this couple so much. They’ve been together for 14 years and married for 12. They did marry in their early 20s, which isn’t a positive sign in Hollywood (or elsewhere). Yet Sarah and Freddie defied the odds and the 2012 tabloid rumors of their demise. Now they have posted their first selfie together. That’s very notable because this couple is rarely photographed together. Red carpet dates have been nonexistent for years, and I get the feeling that they prefer to hang out together at home with their kids. Sarah decided to take the couple-selfie plunge to celebrate landing 200,000 followers on Twitter. Look at Freddie’s dimples. I die.
I also wanted to talk about a new interview Freddie has done to talk about his upcoming return to Bones. He is very careful to point out that this is only a guest role because he is needed at home. So much for those other tabloid rumors about him wanting to drop Mr. Mom duty. He thrives upon family time:
He never watched Sarah as Buffy: “I’ve never seen Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Oh, you can judge. That’s fine, I don’t care. It wasn’t written for my demographic, so I never saw it.” The single episode he has seen? “Once More With Feeling,” the show’s iconic musical episode. “Well, they had a tap dancer in it that I thought was really cool. I wanted to watch him dance.”
He’s guesting on Bones again: “It’s definitely night and day compared to the first episode. I mean in the first episode, he was almost recruiting Booth to get the hell out of the FBI and kind of come to the dark side of the force, so to speak. And in this one, you see much more of their relationship as opposed to just how they interact and work together. You see the sort of trust that guys who serve together would have. I’ve never served myself but I have family and friends who have, and when you’re trusting the guy next to you with your life, you may not see him for ten, fifteen, twenty years, the moment you see him, you’d still die for him. It’s a tight relationship, so for that to get challenged, which it does in this episode, it has to be pretty major.”
He won’t do full-time tv: “I can’t put in 15 hour days. I would never see my kids again. I’m a full-time dad, I’m a part-time actor. I just can’t do it.”

Freddie is very fortunate that he is able to pursue a part-time work schedule and spend more time with his family. I bet he knows it. He’s still producing for the WWE too. Sarah’s new show, The Crazy Ones, might be facing the ax, which is a shame. I wish she could find a new hit show and run with it.

Taking care of a few errands, Sarah Michelle Gellar showed up at the Brentwood Country Mart in Brentwood, California on Tuesday (January 28).
The ?Cruel Intentions? cutie ended up running into fellow Tinseltown star Liev Schreiber while she was browsing the shelves and they ended up deep in discussion.
Upon their exit, SMG and Liev both appeared to be enjoying each other?s company as they laughed and said goodbye.
Meanwhile, Ms. Gellar has been performing a balancing act between her CBS comedy ?The Crazy Ones? with Robin Williams and her handsome hubby Freddie Prinze Jr and their two kiddos.

And with all of the trophies determined by fan votes, it?s anyone?s guess if ?Despicable Me 2,? ?Fast & Furious 6,? ?Iron Man 3,? ?Monsters University,? or ?Star Trek Into Darkness? will take home the Favorite Movie honors.

Out and about for a weekend errand, Sarah Michelle Gellar took her daughter to the Brentwood Country Mart on Saturday (December 28).
The "Crazy Ones" star looked cute and casual in a white sleeveless top, blue jeans, and black flats as she held her little girl Charlotte's hand on the way back to their car.
Last week, the 36-year-old actress took a moment to poke fun at a fellow celeb as he toyed with fans' emotions.
On Tuesday, Sarah tweeted, "'@justinbieber: My beloved beliebers I'm officially retiring' ....um Christmas miracle???

These are photos of Sarah Michelle Gellar outside the Letterman show yesterday to promote her new show, The Crazy Ones. I’m not wild about peplum at all, and matchy-matchy outfits usually drive me insane. Somehow I like how this white dress contains a peplum that gets all matchy matchy with SMG’s shoes. Is that crazy? Sometimes two wrongs do make a right.
Anyway, Sarah is promoting The Crazy Ones, which is her newest television show that also co-stars Robin Williams. He covered Parade a few short weeks ago and seems like a great person. Sarah talks a lot about him in her new Parade interview. Then she goes off on a bit of a rant about childhood vaccinations. Sarah’s very pro-vaccine unlike Jenny McCarthy’s sketchy, slightly murky stance. This could get interesting:
Starting over with a new show: “I?m so nervous and so excited. It?s a weird combination. I think it?s like getting married. You can?t wait for the day and you?re so excited, but you?re also really, really nervous about the day. We?ve worked really hard. The episodes get better and better and I?m really proud of it, and I?m excited to finally get to share it with everybody. I hope they laugh. In our profession, you have to be so careful. You can be torn apart so easily, just as much as you can be brought up, you can be torn down. I advise anyone in my position to be very careful with what you read and what you watch and what you listen to. For me, I don’t make a show for the critics, I make it for the fans, and I just hope they like it.”
Life on The Crazy Ones set: “It’s a big party! I’ve been doing this job for 32 years, and I?ve never had this much fun. I mean, literally, I am the luckiest. I keep pinching myself. I am so grateful for everything in my life, because this is the most fun I’ve ever had at work.”
Working with Robin Williams: “That is the bucket list, to work with an Academy Award-winning actor and one of the greatest standup comics of all time. I was so nervous meeting him. I mean, he’s a legend! The first time I met him, he leaned over at the table read and said to me, ‘I’m so nervous.’ And I was like, ‘What? Yeah, I’m pretty nervous too.’ But to my kids, he’s Uncle Robin. To me, he’s the kindest, most generous comedian, actor, and person. He calls me every night on the way home: How did I feel about the work? Did I get home in time to see the kids? How are the kids? What do they want for their birthdays? If I went on and gloated about him the way I want to, you would totally think I was making him up.”
How to keep a straight face around Robin: “I do the best I can, and after every episode we have outtakes, and all of America can witness how hard it is to keep a straight face. Honestly, as good as the episodes are, the part we all wait for as a crew is to see what they outtakes use. A lot of them they can?t put on network television. Maybe they’ll do a red band DVD one day of the outrageous outtakes.”
Her new character: “For my character, it’s about finding her inner crazy one. Robin’s character is crazy, and he’s afraid he’s losing the sanity to the crazy, and my character is trying to find her inner crazy. That’s something that I had to learn, because I?ve been working since I was a young child, and I took things so seriously. Then you have children, and you have to learn to let go a little bit and find the inner crazy.”
Balancing career & work: “It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, working and having children and wanting to be as present as you can for the children, and as present as you can for your job. It’s very, very difficult. There’s no such thing as a supermom. We just do the best we can. That’s why I’m here today, because if there’s one extra thing I can do to save one child, ten children, or a thousand children from pertussis, then that?s what I’m going to do.”
The importance of vaccinations: “Having children is the greatest gift anyone?s ever given me, and if I can help protect anyone else?s gift, then it?s not just my pleasure, but it?s my responsibility to do it. Every person can say, ‘Oh, I wanted to go visit my friend?s newborn, but I had a cold so I didn’t go.’ Well, why would you also potentially expose them to something they can’t fight? And the best way to stop the spread of pertussis is with the Tdap booster. [Whooping cough] is an epidemic at this point, which is an incredibly scary word, and there’s so much going on in your world as a new parent. You’re so overwhelmed with information and I just thought this is a great way that I could help.”

I can’t help but agree with Sarah Michelle on the importance of vaccinations. You might not agree, but some diseases that were nearly eradicated are making a comeback because not every parent believes in vaccinating their children. Kids are out there suffering when modern medicine can help them with a quick prick of a needle. Some people (like McCarthy) do believe that autism is caused by the MMR vaccine in its combined form. That’s got nothing to do with the whooping vaccine of course. It’s hard to argue with anyone on the issue because both sides are so heated.
Beyond the serious stuff, can you imagine working with Robin Williams? That could very well drive me crazy. I laugh a lot with Kaiser and CB, but Robin is in a whole other league of side-splitting humor. I’d be so worried about him pulling out the Patch Adams red nose at every opportunity.
