Kate Upton covers the November issue of Vogue Italia, and to tell the truth, I’m not quite sure how this happened, people. It’s not that I’m upset about this development at all (because I really like Kate, who is much more fun than today’s stuffy models), but this has all happened so fast for her. It was just February when she was graced the cover of Sports Illustrated, and her career exploded as a result. Soon enough, she was appearing in GQ and doing the “cat daddy dance” for gross Terry Richardson. Then she tried high fashion in Jalouse, and Anna Wintour gave her the stamp of approval by featuring Kate in a very lovely Vogue spread. The fashion industry really, really wants Kate to happen in a huge way, and they’ve accepted her (and her boobs) with very open arms. The question remains, however, will the general public second the opinion?
Now back to this cover — doesn’t Kate look a lot like a much more stunning version of Anna Nicole Smith here? In a very 1990s supermodel sort of way. Like, this was how Anna was supposed to turn out if she didn’t marry a 90-year-old billionaire, star in a trashy reality show, and then end up on all sorts of drugs. Kate definitely looks “seductive” here as the cover caption claims, and I’m sort of giggling over how this busty “mall girl” has been able to strut her way into progressively more high-fashion gigs as her fellow, mean-girl SI models and “downmarket” critics are probably shaking with rage. Kate was definitely the underdog just a few months ago, but she has proven herself to be a very likeable underdog, so I’m rooting for her career.
Whether you like it or not, I’m afraid that Kate Upton is here to stay. The fashion world is pushing her very hard right now, and that’s not really a bad thing at all. I mean, Kate’s a very healthy-looking girl, and she has a very refreshing, fun attitude. Has she fully arrived on the scene though? As in, will she soon fulfill her self-proclaimed desire to “bring back the supermodel“? Time will tell if Kate has longevity, but I think there’s a damn good chance that she’ll grow increasingly popular as a household name.
In addition to Kate scoring the cover of Vogue Italia, she’s also just posed for a 1960s-inspired photoshoot from V magazine, and Kate herself has tweeted a few previews from the shoot.

| Kate Upton in her very first Vogue spread: gorgeous & lovely or budget? | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Kate Upton appears in her very first Vogue feature in the magazine’s November issue (the one with Rihanna on the cover), and the results are surprisingly diverse and sort of wonderful. In some of the shots, Kate is still very much a swimsuit babe, and in others (such as the above picture), she’s almost unrecognizable. A couple of the shots look sort of budget, but the overall effect is quite lovely and a happy medium between her Sports Illustrated cover and her recent ill-fated attempt to go high fashion. In the interview, Kate talks about her body (of course) and stresses (once again) that she’s not willing to starve herself for her career, and good for her. Here are some excerpts:
On moving beyond swimsuit spreads: “Coming from a sports-fanatic family, I really didn’t know a lot about the small fashion circles,” says the 20-year-old. Reaching the pinnacle of swimsuit modeling was her goal, pure and simple. “When I was able to accomplish that, I slowly started figuring things out–and when I have a goal, I do everything to accomplish it.”
On her curvy body: “I don?t want to starve myself. I still want to hang out with my family and be a normal girl. You have to be confident, and that doesn?t mean starving yourself. I think it?s important to look at magazines and think a healthy lifestyle is attainable. Now that the fashion industry likes the idea of me, I?m happy if I can have an influence. When I lived in Florida, the swimsuit was the key wardrobe piece. I lived ten minutes from the beach, but I never sat there and said, ‘I want to be every man?s fantasy.’ It wasn?t a big deal to be in a bathing suit. Now, whenever girls come up to me saying they?re happy to see I am confident about my body, it makes me feel good that I am contributing in a way among people my age, people who could be my friends.”

Obviously, one doesn’t have to starve themselves to be a successful model like Kate Upton, and I wish more models had that attitude. Kate may be a bit silly at times, but she really is a positive role model for young girls who might otherwise decide to emulate the many abundant stick-insect examples within the fashion industry.
Do you like this shoot? I really do, and this shot in particular is breathtaking. Go Kate!

Here’s Kate Upon putting her massive talents to good use for Vogue. And while I don’t know anything about fashion, I’m an expert when it comes to Kate’s assets. So don’t get me wrong, some of these shots are great, but I still think she’s better suited as a swimsuit model. Sometimes it’s best to

She?s the object of affection for millions of men all over the world, but it seems only one guy gets Kate Upton's attention- MLB pitcher Justin Verlander!
The buxom blonde supermodel has been romantically linked to the Detroit Tiger, and Justin?s grandfather Richard Verlander Sr has confirmed the news.
?I heard he has been on dates with a Sports Illustrated girl. I saw a photo ? she?s beautiful. They make a good looking pair because he?s a good looking man too,? explained Grandpa Verlander.
?I do know he?s on the dating scene. Justin is a fine boy and whoever he ends up with is lucky. He?s not only a great baseball player, he?s a great guy.?

Making a midweek red carpet appearance in the Big Apple, Kate Upton prettied up the scenery at the premiere of "Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007? on Wednesday (October 3).
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition cover girl looked fetching in a black pencil skirt and white blouse as she joined alongside EPIX CEO Mark Greenberg at the MOMA held film fete.
Aside from making public appearances, Kate has been keeping herself busy by showing off her supermodel looks on the covers of some of the biggest magazines.
Most recently garnering the front page of Cosmopolitan's November 2012 issue, the 20 year-old hottie opened up about what she feels it means to be sexy.
Of this, Miss Upton dished, ?To me, what?s sexy is when you look like you?re having a good time," adding, "That, and when you look effortless and have messy hair.?

| Kate Upton on Cosmo, talks first-date rules: 'I always bring $20 & my cell phone' | Added 12 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Can you believe it? An actual MODEL is on the cover of the new Cosmopolitan. Kate Upton takes the cover of the November issue ? a model/self-styled celebrity rather than an actress or a singer. I?m not one of those people lamenting the lack of models on magazine covers, you know. I like seeing Doutzen Kroes and Gisele and Naomi Campbell and Karlie Kloss and all of those models, but I think I?m one of the few people to actually prefer the current arrangement of ?actresses on the covers of fashion magazines.? Still, it?s nice to mix it up, and Kate Upton is an interesting choice. She is by no means the most respected or high-fashion model out there. And yet she continues to get big magazine covers and an increasingly higher profile. Maybe she?s smarter than we think?
Some highlights from her interview:
Kate on first dates: ?Something just simple. Nothing too showy. Maybe just something so we can get to know each other. I?d probably like to eat, depending on the time.?
Kate on what she finds sexy in a woman: ?To me, what?s sexy is when you look like you?re having a good time. That, and when you look effortless and have messy hair.?
Kate on what she finds sexy in a man: ?I find a sense of humor sexy in a man. Someone who is just relaxed and can have a good time.?
On pick-ups lines: ?All pick-up lines are horrible. None of them work. You just walk up and make a fool of yourself. Just come up and be yourself and have a normal conversation.?
Does she prefer good guys or bad boys? ?I just want to morph them into one person.?
Girlie girl or tomboy? ?I?m a little bit of a mix ? a girlie girl and a tomboy. When I?m in a city, I?m girlie. But when I?m around a barn, I turn into a tomboy.?
Worst first date: ?I don?t want to throw anyone under the bus, but I always bring $20 and my cell phone.?
[From Cosmopolitan]
I kind of love her first-date rule. You should expect the dude to pay on the first date (in my humble, ball-busting opinion), but you should bring some money just in case, especially if you need to make a quick escape and call a cab, which is why the cell phone is important too. I also think pick-up lines are awful, but from what I?ve seen, most dudes don?t even bother with pick-up lines anymore. Or is that just me? The last guy who gave me a line was the dude behind the counter at the Kroger deli: “Hey, girl. What can I get for you? You need some meat?” IS THAT EVEN A LINE?
