Remember when Vogue Germany sprayed Kate Upton’s chest with water? Now there are pictures to go with the video. Glorious pictures. One of Kate Upton’s ass and one of her getting squirted with water again. I don’t know if she did an interview to go along with the pictures but then again, I don’t expect anyone to read any of it if I post it.

Kate Upton?s haters must be seething! The girl with the ?downmarket? appeal is still getting love from ?upmarket? fashion magazines. I?m glad. Kate Upton sometimes gives me Blake Lively vibes ? as in, both women want high fashion acceptance but both are decidedly downmarket. But I think I like Kate more. Her ?look? is more diverse than people think, and? well, I just like that there?s a model with a healthy look to her body.
Anyway, Kate scored another Vogue cover? although it?s not Anna Wintour?s doing. Kate got the January cover of Vogue UK, following a year which saw her score a Vogue Italia cover and photo shoot and a pictorial in American Vogue. Will Wintour finally succumb and give Kate a full-blown cover in 2013? I guess it depends on the reaction to this Vogue UK cover. Which I love, by the way. Kate?s ?assets? are usually front and center in her pictorials, but I like the modesty and girl-next-door quality of this cover. She?s still a bombshell (look at those curves), but you?re not seeing a lot of skin. It?s nice. Here?s more:
?We have keenly documented Kate Upton’s trajectory into the world of high fashion: the blue-eyed, blonde-haired pin-up recently scored her second shoot for US Vogue , and starred on the cover of Carine Roitfeld’s bi-annual solo magazine venture, CR Fashion Book , which sold out after just two months.
Now, the curvaceous beauty better known for covering the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue (the ultimate accolade if you’re the sort of model who spends 90 per cent of the time parading briefs and bikinis) has been picked by British Vogue editor Alexandra Shulman to star on the cover of the style bible’s January 2013 issue.
As Shulman explains in her editor’s letter: “When I decided to shoot Kate for our first cover of 2013, it was to kick off the year with a young woman who is not a stereotypical fashion model – although, let’s face it, she’s hardly a heffalump!”
Indeed, 20-year-old Upton’s physique doesn’t make her an obvious candidate for a high fashion role: at 5’10? and with a generous 34C chest, her hips are some two and a half inches wider than that other famous Kate – Moss.
“It’s very rare for a girl; to move from one area of the business to the other, largely due to the fact that fashion models are almost without curves, whereas swimwear girls are celebrated for them,” adds Shulman.
With Vogue ‘s seal of approval, Kate Upton really has got the high-end fashion world at her feet.

Isn?t it weird that a blonde, blue-eyed, big-boobed beauty is considered ?diversity? at this point? It?s because all of the established supermodels of this era ? Gisele, Daria Werbowy, CoCo Rocha, etc. ? have a specific ?look? which it is usually purposefully asexual. I think girls like Upton and Doutzen Kroes (who is probably my favorite model at this point) are trying to bring some sensuality back into modeling. Of course, a lot of it is dependent on the styling, on the photographer, on the ?vision? of the pictorial or campaign. But I hope Upton is here to stay. And yes, I would like to see her on the cover of American Vogue.

Kate Upton did a photoshoot with Vogue Germany who got straight to the point and sprayed her chest with water. Knowing the Germans, this was a metaphor for a golden shower.To be fair, she was horseback riding and rolling around in the grass for a couple of scenes to give the video at least a modicum of class but mostly it was just her showing off her massive chest. This isn’t a complaint by the way.

I’m not suggesting that everything Sports Illustrated cover model Kate Upton wears has to be skin-tight or revealing, but come on. That sweater coat is hideous. It makes her look like she’s wearing an enchilada costume. Fashion FAIL.
The only thing right about this look is the purse, and you can get your own bright and glossy crocodile bag with this gorgeous L.A.P.A tote. And I don’t use the word “gorgeous” lightly, either. This bag is a total conversation piece.

I have no clue what the deal is with half the outfits Kate Upton is wearing in this video for Vogue Italia, but I really don’t care. After all, I’m a celebrity cleavage blogger, not a fashion blogger. And in my professional opinion, Kate is killing it in that department. She always does.

Last week, we covered Kate Upton’s cover on the “seductive issue” of Vogue Italia, and the general consensus was that she looked much like a 1990s supermodel with a bit of Anna Nicole Smith in her glory days sprinkled in for good measure. The cover was both gorgeous and slightly trashy, and it’s quite obvious that Kate’s got some powerful fashion people on her side of the ring that really want to make her happen. I mean, even Anna Wintour loves the girl and gave her a glorious Vogue spread stateside, and it’s rather nice to see a busty, blonde, fun girl like Kate start to move away from bikini shots and begin to conquer high fashion in her own way.
Now the rest of the Vogue Italia shoot has been revealed, and I’m sort of at a loss. This seems like a rather gimmicky shoot designed to capitalize on Kate’s “model of the moment” status and is even titled “This girl, this moment.” Some of the shoot is admittedly lovely, but there are a few shots in particular that are quite trashy with a rather obvious Marilyn Monroe homage (in particular, it reminds me of How to Marry a Millionaire). This cigarette shot is pretty unnecessary/gross even though, yes, I know the smoking standards are different in Europe. And like, did we really need to see one of her boobs literally hanging out of a dress in order to appreciate the fashion being showcased? Of course not.
The rest of the editorial is a mixed bag. Some of it is truly gorgeous stuff, and some of it makes me wonder exactly what Vogue Italia was thinking with the styling. Obviously, Kate has a great body and some very important people behind her in the fashion world. It looks like she’s here to stay, at least for a few years, and the black and white shots are just gorgeous.
