There?s no place like home, and Katy Perry was hot on the trail of her next new address in Beverly Hills on Saturday (June 14).
Dressed in a short plaid skirt and bright yellow top, the ?Firework? female brought her family along for the excursion after having previously sold her 3 acre Hollywood Hills home that she owned with ex-husband Russell Brand.
Meanwhile, Katy has a plan for showing love to teachers all over the nation and she?s teaming up with Staples Inc for the ?Make Roar Happen? campaign.
Perry told ?Good Morning America,? ?I'm an American girl that had a dream, executed a dream, came from nothing ? and that really is the American dream. I'm happy to be that example and hopefully inspire other people to do that."
"I really believe knowledge is power, especially for females. I feel like our education makes us more confident. I thought, instead of shopping my way around the world, why not educate my way around the world?"
Staples honcho Alison Corcoran added, ??Make Roar Happen? builds on Staples? commitment to teachers in a new and engaging way. With music that inspires people worldwide, Katy Perry is a powerful voice to encourage people to ?Roar? and recognize teachers for their impact both inside and outside the classroom. Katy chimed in, ?I?m glad to partner with Staples on my Prismatic World Tour to raise awareness and funds for DonorsChoose.org, and to remind my fans that a small gesture can make a large impact on the very basic materials classrooms need for teachers to help students reach their full potential.?

Here’s a photo of Katy Perry and her “happy face” rack in Belfast on Monday night. This was Katy’s opening date on her Prismatic world tour. The costumes are tacky, but that’s typical Katy.
I’ve always considered Katy and Lady Gaga to be two sides of the same coin. Katy pretends to be innocent while singing about her faux-encounters with controversy, and Gaga makes sh-t up to sound more scandalous than she really is. Both of them rely upon artifice to sell their images and concert tickets. The main difference is their audiences. Katy has targeted a very young set of fans and sells tickets with abandon. Gaga has decided to shoot for the more mature crowd, but everyone is completely tired of her “drunk clown” brand of “art”. Part of me feels sorry for Gaga, but the rest of me realizes that Katy is the smart one for acknowledging that she’s a pop-culture dessert. Gaga thinks she has substance. Katy knows better.
Katy just embarked upon her tour. She’s shilled records like crazy, and she’s sold out arenas worldwide. Gaga is not happy. Both she and Katy have done the rainbow-hair routine. I can’t remember how many colors Katy has been though — red, pink, orange, purple, blue — but at least Katy comes by her colors through a bottle of dye. Gaga mostly does wigs. Now that Katy has moved onto slime green hair, Gaga has taken offense with a tweet:
