Here’s a photo of Katy Perry and her “happy face” rack in Belfast on Monday night. This was Katy’s opening date on her Prismatic world tour. The costumes are tacky, but that’s typical Katy.
I’ve always considered Katy and Lady Gaga to be two sides of the same coin. Katy pretends to be innocent while singing about her faux-encounters with controversy, and Gaga makes sh-t up to sound more scandalous than she really is. Both of them rely upon artifice to sell their images and concert tickets. The main difference is their audiences. Katy has targeted a very young set of fans and sells tickets with abandon. Gaga has decided to shoot for the more mature crowd, but everyone is completely tired of her “drunk clown” brand of “art”. Part of me feels sorry for Gaga, but the rest of me realizes that Katy is the smart one for acknowledging that she’s a pop-culture dessert. Gaga thinks she has substance. Katy knows better.
Katy just embarked upon her tour. She’s shilled records like crazy, and she’s sold out arenas worldwide. Gaga is not happy. Both she and Katy have done the rainbow-hair routine. I can’t remember how many colors Katy has been though — red, pink, orange, purple, blue — but at least Katy comes by her colors through a bottle of dye. Gaga mostly does wigs. Now that Katy has moved onto slime green hair, Gaga has taken offense with a tweet:

During promotions for her ?Birthday? music video, Katy Perry called into Power 105 this afternoon (April 25) and chatted about her love life.
While on the phone, host Charlemagne Tha God asked the ?Roar? singer if she is single.
Katy replied, ?Um, yes I am. Hello.? In addition, Miss Perry joked, ?I?m really deep on Tinder, so I don?t have a whole lot of time.?

Playing tricks on a number of unsuspecting party-goers, Katy Perry disguised herself as multiple different characters for her new ?Birthday? music video.
Hitting the web on Thursday (April 24), the hilarious clip shows the ?Roar? singer dressed as a drunk clown at a young kid?s celebration and an old dancer from Vegas at a 90-year-old?s big day, and that's not all!
Perry also crashes a bar mitzvah, a princess party and a petting zoo!
Sharing the news of its release on Twitter, Katy shared, ?GUYS, PREPARE YOURSELVES cuz it's time to bring out the big balloons and #MakeItLikeYourBirthday!?

The ?California Dream? singer rocked a darling stripped dress while rocking her newly green locks and chatted with the host about the inspiration behind her new ?do.
?I some really cute Japanese girl that had like green tipped hair and I brought it to the hairstylist and said, ?Make me her,?? Katy said about finding her hair style on Tumblr.
Meanwhile, a super fan received the opportunity to play a game with Perry and brought out a key piece of information from the star.
When Kimmel asked about the fan?s boyfriend forcing her to take down her Katy Perry wall, the singer replied, ?At least you have a boyfriend.? Does this confirm her split from John Mayer?

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Katy Perry has the worst taste in men. As wonderful as Russell Brand is as a person, everyone knew he’d make a terrible husband. John Mayer makes a terrible everything. Katy previously went out with Travie McCoy from Gym Class Heroes. Travie also has a reputation as a douche. Most recently, Katy had a brief dalliance with rapper Riff Raff. Who knows what that was all about, but Riff Raff did retweet our story, and his Twitter followers were … not kind.
Now Katy has found another new man, DJ Diplo, and they were all over each other at Coachella. Katy previously romanced Robert Ackroyd at Coachella two years ago. She seems to find rebound dudes there. I don’t know much about Diplo as a musician, but his online presence is a bit sketchy. He dated M.I.A. for several years, but there’s a baby mama out there too. Here’s the gross part — if you google for it, you’ll find photos of Diplo’s wang … next to an unflushed toilet. He sounds like such a nice boy. Katy Perry has moved on from her split with John Mayer by hooking up with top music producer and DJ Diplo at Coachella.
Perry, 29, was spotted with Diplo, 35 – the LA-based producer and recording artist who?s worked with Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Usher and Bruno Mars – backstage at the music festival and also at a series of parties.
A witness told Page Six: “Katy and Diplo hooked up at Coachella. They were together behind the main stage, where she had a tour bus or trailer, and a group of her friends were hanging out.” The music spy added, “It was very obvious that Katy and Diplo were together. They seemed inseparable and at one point they were seen getting onto her bus together.”
The pair were also reportedly inseparable at a party for designer Jeremy Scott and Adidas on Saturday night. Radar Online reported, “They’ve been friends forever … It definitely looked like more than that! At one point he even had his arms around her.”
It’s not the first time Perry?s found romance at the California music fest: In 2012, she was seen kissing, hugging and dancing with Florence + the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd, months after filing for divorce from Russell Brand.
She then began dating Mayer in the summer of 2012, and the on-and-off couple broke up and reconciled countless times before finally calling it quits in February of this year.
Born Thomas Wesley Pentz, Diplo was previously romantically linked to rapper M.I.A. for about five years. He’s the founder of hot record label Mad Decent and part of the duo Jack U with West Coast DJ Skrillex.
Perry?s also been spotted at a host of Coachella parties with green hair, mugging for pictures with Steven Tyler and Robert Pattinson. She tweeted at the fest: “Dear festival friends remember, selfing is a disease.”

This sounds like a fling, right? Katy’s getting ready to go on tour, so I doubt she’d start a serious relationship right now. Of course Katy did get married right before her last tour, so who knows.
Katy has a new jewelry line coming out soon. She partnered up with Claires to sell cheap-ass trinkets with a “Roar” theme. I’ve included some pictures in the gallery. Claires used to be where I bought my tacky, massive hoop earrings in high school. They’re right up Katy’s alley. Teens will eat this stuff up.
