Kourtney Kardashian announced her pregnancy last week, and within 24 hours she had let her big secret out - the father was on-again douchey boyfriend Scott Disick. When she named the father on NBC, she also admitted that the pregnancy was the result of her ?forgetting? to take her birth control pills. Now Kourtney is explaining her situation to People Magazine, and she admits something that I suspected since I heard the news - that she seriously considered having an abortion. Let me explain - from what I?ve seen of the Kardashian girls, I always suspected that Kourtney and Scott had a crappy relationship. While I?m sure Kourtney is perfectly capable of raising a child on her own, I doubted whether it would be smart for her to try to have a ?band-aid baby? with a guy who generally seems uninterested and uninteresting. From what Kourtney tells People, though, it sounds like Scott was accepting of whatever choice she made:
Kourtney Kardashian’s unplanned pregnancy forced the shocked reality TV star to make one of the most difficult decisions in her life: Would she have the baby or terminate the pregnancy?
“I definitely thought about it long and hard, about if I wanted to keep the baby or not, and I wasn’t thinking about adoption,” Kardashian, 30, who was shooting E!’s Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami at the time, tells PEOPLE exclusively. “I do think every woman should have the right to do what they want, but I don’t think it’s talked through enough. I can’t even tell you how many people just say, ‘Oh, get an abortion.’ Like it’s not a big deal.”
Scott Disick, the baby’s 26-year-old father, was supportive either way. The pair had split in November after two years of dating, but reconciled shortly after finding out she was pregnant. “He wanted me to talk about it more, but I just kept to myself,” she says. “He said, ‘I really want you to keep it, but I will support you whatever you decide to do.’”
Confused and concerned, Kardashian says, “I called my best friend crying, and I was like, ‘I don’t know what to do.’ She said, ‘Call your doctor, and at least find out the risks and stuff.’ ” So Kardashian discussed abortion with her physician, and then headed to the Internet to do further research.
“I looked online, and I was sitting on bed hysterically crying, reading these stories of people who felt so guilty from having an abortion,” she recalls. “I was reading these things of how many people are traumatized by it afterwards.”
After scouring the Internet, Kardashian says she started to realize that an abortion wasn’t an option for her. “I was just sitting there crying, thinking, ‘I can’t do that,’ ” she says. “And I felt in my body, this is meant to be. God does things for a reason, and I just felt like it was the right thing that was happening in my life.”
Kardashian says she did some intense soul-searching. “For me, all the reasons why I wouldn’t keep the baby were so selfish: It wasn’t like I was raped, it’s not like I’m 16. I’m 30 years old, I make my own money, I support myself, I can afford to have a baby. And I am with someone who I love, and have been with for a long time.”
Although Kardashian sought out the advice of others, she says it was her decision ? and hers alone ? that was the most important.
“I really wanted to think it through for myself, and not hear what my sisters were saying, or what Scott was saying. Even though I took it all in, I wanted it to be my decision,” she says. “My doctor told me there is nothing you will ever regret about having the baby, but he was like, ‘You may regret not having the baby.’ And I was like: That is so true. And it just hit me. I got so excited, and when I told Scott he was so excited. But I think if I had said I’m not going to keep it, I really think he would have pushed me into keeping it.”

I have complete respect for what Kourtney is saying, and it makes me like her more. She obviously did a lot of soul-searching, and she came to her decision with a lot of thought and education. While I still have doubts about whether Scott is in it for the long haul, I think Kourtney will be fine either way.

It was a big night for Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian last night (August 16), who celebrated the launch of their new E! reality show “Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami.”
The brunette beauties took over the Wet Republic at MGM Grand Resort Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas with a paparazzi-filled shindig to mark the event.
As for the recent news of Kourtney’s pregnancy, it was apparently a surprise, as she forgot to take her birth control pill.
Miss Kardashian explained, “This probably sounds so dumb, but there’s so many times I’ll forget to take my pill and I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. It’s just so stupid.”

Not far removed from breaking the big pregnancy news, Kourtney Kardashian has been in full tilt promotional mode in New York City over the past few days.
Out for a visit to CW Studios with sister Khloe earlier today (August 14), the E! reality cutie chatted about her new curvy physique, telling, “My boobs got huge right away. They got so sore, that if anyone even brushed up near me, I would scream.”
Taking it all in stride, Miss Kardashian reveals, “I’m really embracing it. I feel like it’s such a beautiful thing, that every woman who goes though it, should embrace it. I think if you’re naturally skinny, and pregnant, and that’s how your body is, that’s fine.”
And while a heftier figure is a sure thing, Kourtney will be making sure to keep on a healthy diet as she readies for her baby-on-the-way, saying, “I don’t also want to sit there and eat cheeseburgers all night. I want to do what’s healthy for my baby.”

Doing some promotion in New York City, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian were spotted outside their swanky hotel last night (August 13).
The “Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami” stars both looked lovely as they tried their best to avoid the mass of paparazzi they found waiting for them.
Always the glamour girl, Kourtney sported a sexy black minidress with black heels, while Khloe went for a more casual look including a black top, black jacket, jeans and black boots.
As previously reported, Kourtney has announced her pregnancy and has named the baby as none other than her on/off fianc Scott Disick.

Did Kourtney Kardashian get pregnant - accidentally on purpose? She certainly announced her pregnancy right in time to promote her spin off reality show with Khloe, premiering this Sunday on E!. Kourtney has revealed that she got pregnant after forgetting to take her birth control pills and explained that she realized she was pregnant when she starting feel nauseous and craving crackers. The thing is, she had a pregnancy scare that was shown on her family’s reality show back in November, 2007 and she’s five months pregnant now. So she had over a year after that first scare to wise up and make sure she was taking precautions. Instead, she’s pregnant for real this time, which suggests that if she wasn’t actually trying to get pregnant she wasn’t trying not to, either:

“She definitely thought it was going to be her first. Kim has, like, every baby name picked out,” Kourtney said on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show this morning.
“Kim…I don’t think she was envious, but who knows,” Kourtney went on of her sis, who recently split from Reggie Bush. “Kim gets mad if I get, like, the car that she wants. She, like, freaks out.
“Out of all of us, I was definitely the last one that was even thinking about it,” Kourtney confessed, adding that she’s due around Christmastime — the same period as another E! reality star, Kendra Wilkinson.
Kourtney says she had her sister Khloe tell the family she was expecting.
“I was just, like, so nervous,” she said. Stepdad Bruce Jenner was “the most realistic,” she says. “[He said], ‘You guys are acting like you’re getting a little puppy dog! You need to take this seriously’…. He freaks me out the most.”

Kourtney announced on The Today Show yesterday that her baby’s father was her ex fiance, Scott Disick, and said that she’s back together with him. She said he was “very excited” about the pregnancy and that “we’re really happy.” When asked if she had any marriage plans, Kourtney said “we’ll see.” I’m sure we’ll learn all about it if she gets engaged at any point. If Kourtney is smart, and I’m not getting a lot of evidence in that direction although this pregnancy is probably the smartest thing she could have done for media coverage, she’ll pull the plug on this show once her baby is born. It’s going to be too much pressure to continue the show and be a new mom - and maybe a new wife - all at the same time.

No one was more surprised about Kourtney Kardashian's pregnancy than Kourtney herself, who always thought sister Kim would be the first mom in the group.
"She definitely thought it was going to be her first. Kim has, like, every baby name picked out," Kourtney said on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS-FM morning show on Thursday (August 13), Us Weekly reports. "I don't think she was envious, but who knows? Kim gets mad if I get, like, the car that she wants. She, like, freaks out.
"Out of all of us, I was definitely the last one that was even thinking about it," the "Kourtney & Khlo Take Miami" and "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star added.
Kourtney is expecting the baby, due in December, with boyfriend Scott Disick. When she found out she was pregnant while shooting her reality show in Miami, she was "so nervous." And stepdad and Olympian Bruce Jenner didn't help calm her nerves.
"[He said], 'You guys are acting like you're getting a little puppy dog!' " she recalled. " 'You need to take this seriously.' ... He freaks me out the most."
