I was actually a little bit grateful for all of the royal drama the past few days, because it meant that I got to ignore Miley Cyrus? LOOK AT ME shenanigans. Miley is with Cody Simpson and they have to perform their love. They have to perform their love at coffee shops around Malibu, they have to perform their love for TMZ and the gossip outlets, and they have to perform their love on social media. So much social media performing! Well, Cody and Miley were doing an Instagram Live session and Miley said some dumb sh-t because she was trying to be shady about Liam Hemsworth. What she was really doing was being vaguely and ignorantly homophobic.
Miley Cyrus is thanking her new man, Cody Simpson, for helping her fall in love again ? and addressing backlash to comments she made on the topic. On Sunday, the ?Slide Away? singer went live on Instagram with Simpson, 22, and spoke fondly about her blossoming relationship with the Australian singer while seemingly shading estranged husband Liam Hemsworth.
?I was just being like, I don?t know, hardcore feminist vibes and just not allowing anyone in,? Cyrus, 26, explained, before telling her followers, ?There are good men out there guys, don?t give up. You don?t have to be gay,? she added as Simpson used the heart eye filter on his screen. ?There are good people with d? out there, you just gotta find them. You gotta find a d? that?s not a d?, you know what I mean?? After the Australian singer laughed at Cyrus? comment, she continued, ?I know, I thought I had to be gay because all guys are evil, but it?s not true. There are good people out there that happen to have d?. I only ever met one, and he?s on this live,? she added, referring to Simpson, who smiled at her comment.
Cyrus? comments quickly drew the ire of the LGBTQ community, who took issue with the singer?s remark that people ?don?t have to be gay.? Cyrus clarified her comment on Twitter Monday, writing, ?I was talking s? about sucky guys, but let me be clear, YOU don?t CHOOSE your sexuality. You are born as you are. It has always been my priority to protect the LGBTQ community I am a part of.?

By my count, Miley Cyrus has been with Cody Simpson for about three weeks. We first became aware of their coupled-up status two weeks ago, when they were gallivanting all over LA, making out at yogurt shops and breakfast joints. Since then, it?s been a whirlwind of selfies, Instagram Stories, rants about slut-shaming, hospitalizations and? it now seems like Cody has officially moved in with Miley. And he?s releasing new music based on their new love. Did he literally go into the music studio on their first date or something? Oh, and Cody?s rep is issuing statements to People Magazine on behalf of Cody and Miley?s love.
After years of friendship, Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson?s relationship recently turned romantic ? and the couple are on the same page when it comes to their lifestyles.
?It is early, but their friendship is long-standing and deeper than people realize. Though they originally met during their own wilder phases, they?re both sober now and are focused on health, work and spending time together. Seems pretty ideal to me,? Simpson?s manager Matt Zeidman tells PEOPLE exclusively in a statement.
While attending the Tiffany & Co. Mens Launch last week, Simpson opened up about his new romance with Cyrus, saying they ?found each other again in a space where we?re both not partying? and ?working real hard.?
The Australian singer ? who was by the entertainer?s side as she recovered from tonsillitis ? also revealed he?ll be dropping a new song inspired by Cyrus this week. ?She was like, ?If you don?t put this s? out, I?m putting it out on your behalf for you. As we discussed on Friday, Miley Cyrus has already jumped into a new relationship, this one with Aussie singer-actor Cody Simpson. They?ve known each for years, but over the past week, they?ve been performing their new love with a series of public makeout sessions in LA and Malibu. Cody posted this photo to his Instagram Stories over the weekend Miley made him breakfast (bananas on toast) and he was happy. They?ve been together a week and there?s already all of THIS. And Miley had just broken up with Kaitlynn Carter two weeks ago because Kaitlynn was getting too serious. Miley was defending herself over the weekend too she believes (perhaps correctly) that she?s being slut-shamed for moving through relationships so quickly.
On her Instagram Story on Friday, Miley Cyrus ? who is coming off of back-to-back breakups with Kaitlynn Carter and husband Liam Hemsworth, who is also Australian ? shared a black and white, shirtless photo of Simpson. Over the top of the steamy pic, she wrote ?22 [check] Australian (my type) [check] Abs [check]? At the bottom, she added, ?Hot Girl Fall [check]?
In the next slide on her Story, the songstress shared a TMZ video of her and Simpson kissing at Backyard Bowls in West Hollywood. She wrote, ?Can a girl not get a f?ing aai bowl and a morning make out session in peace?!?!? Underneath the video, she wrote, ?lol sneaky ass.?
On another slide, Miley wrote: I know the public feels invested in my past relationship [with ex Liam Hemsworth] because they felt like they saw it thru from the beginning. I think thats why people have always felt so entitled over my life and how I live it because theyve watched me grow up. But I am grown now, Cyrus continued, and make choices as an adult knowing the truth/details/reality. People only know what they see on the internet. Men (especially successful ones) are RARELY slut shamed. They move on from one beautiful woman to the next MOST times without consequence. This reminds me a bit of the conversation in 2016, when people got on Taylor Swift?s case when she moved on from Calvin Harris to Tom Hiddleston in about a week. Amber Rose defended Taylor and said that Taylor (and any woman) is under no obligation to ?give her p-ssy a rest.? We can and should say the same for Miley, and all women? if we?re making a purely feminist argument. As a feminist, of course I believe in Miley?s right to bang any consenting man or woman she wants. As a professional gossip, I?d just like to point out that not all of the criticism is about ?Miley burns through lovers too quickly.? There?s also a significant amount of criticism of Miley because she?s performing all of this sh-t so publicly. She cheated on Liam with Kaitlynn and she made sure we knew all about it. And on and on. She and Cody are already super-public too. Miley desperately wants attention, and wants to be discussed. So? whatever.

I completely and utterly blanked on the fact that before Gigi Hadid had her on-and-off thing with Zayn Malik, she was dating Cody Simpson for a while. In case you?re old (like me), Cody Simpson is a buff blonde Australian dude, who looks sort of a like a surfer but his name makes him sound like a Disney Family Channel child actor (which actually isn?t too far off). Why this backstory on Cody Simpson? Because he?s probably going to be Miley Cyrus?s next boyfriend, if he isn?t already there. Yes, Miley has decided that her next romantic partner is going to be an Aussie bloke. Liam Hemsworth is shook.
Miley Cyrusis soothing her achey breaky heart by spending some quality time with longtime friend Cody Simpson. Now that the singers whirlwind romance with Kaitlynn Carter is over, Miley seems to be moving on to her latest suitor. On Thursday afternoon, the Slide Away singer was spotted with Cody at a Los Angeles grocery store where an eyewitness exclusively tells E! News they saw them coming in to the grocer real quick to grab a drink and some sushi. And, according to the eyewitness, they also shared a quick kiss while perusing their food options. Not long after, the eyewitness says Miley, who was dressed casually in a tank top, and Cody noticed people seeing them so they tried to rush out of there.
This isnt the first time that the two singers have been spotted together in recent days. According to social media sightings, Miley and Cody seem to be bonding over a shared love for foods and beverages like coffee and other treats.

Well, I was right about one thing and wrong about another thing. I was right about the fact that Miley Cyrus just wasn?t into Kaitlynn Carter, and that the relationship was just a temporary/placeholder situation, a quick jumpoff for melodrama and attention. I was wrong about when Miley would phase out of ?the Kaitlynn era.? I thought it would be like most Miley eras, about six months, and that Kaitlynn needed to start planning for what she would do in January when this sh-t blew up. I was wrong: the Kaitlynn era last about two months, if that. It depends on when we?re saying Miley and Kaitlynn ?started.? But they?re definitely over now!

I?ll say this at the top, so there?s no misconception: Miley Cyrus is bisexual or pansexual, however she?s describing herself these days. She used to say she was pansexual, but in an interview this year, she called herself bisexual. All that being said, I truly feel like there is a performative nature to Miley?s current jumpoff-relationship with Kaitlynn Carter. Miley usually ?performs? how in love she is, and we just got used to seeing her perform her love with Liam Hemsworth. But this Kaitlynn Carter thing is new and it is LUST. Miley wants us to know just how lustful and avant-garde they are. She will perform her love/lust for Kaitlynn for a room full of people.

As an old-school fan of Arrested Development, I have to ask my fellow AD peeps: doesn?t it look like Miley?s face is saying ?I made a huge mistake?? I?m getting that vibe. Honestly, though, maybe I?m projecting my own thoughts it could be that Miley was trying to just get through the crush of paparazzi and she didn?t look sad or mad or happy or anything. Do you think Miley has some regrets about what went down? And are those regrets softened by how much attention she?s getting for her jumpoff relationship with Kaitlynn?
Everyone?s talking about how Miley and Kaitlynn ?coordinated? in their black ensembles. Ah, to be young, blonde and fashionable, and to have it be a headline that you and your girlfriend are both wearing black. Personally, I really dislike Miley?s styling lately the bangs are a tragedy, but her whole ?stringy wet look? hairstyle is just the worst. Miley?s outfit isn?t too bad I actually love the coat and the trousers. I would wear the fk out of those trousers. She spent the next week trying to blame the split on Liam (because he?s moody and he drinks, maybe) and at the end of the day, Liam is just hanging out with his family in Australia. That?s where he?s been this whole time. Liam isn?t providing anyone with daily updates on his state of mind. But Miley can?t help herself. So, just FYI: Miley wants us to know that she?s FINALLY focusing on herself these days. For real.

That song was absolutely part of her immature plan to get under Liam?s skin, and she so clearly laid the blame at his feet lyrically. The fact that she keeps insisting that she dumped him for all these reasons? well, I?m starting to wonder if it really went down like that at all. I?ve been saying that it feels likely that Miley and Kaitlynn were having a full-fledged affair. Miley having a guilty heart might explain things. As for ?focusing on herself? she?s always been focused on herself. She?ll try to change up her personality/persona to suit Liam for a time, but let?s be real she?s always focused on herself and what she?s doing. I?ve been seeing a lot of, like, feminist critiques of the Miley Cyrus situation, which I don?t really understand. It was the same with Kristen Stewart when she cheated on Robert Pattinson people really made the stretch to make it sound like K-Stew?s infidelity was some kind of overarching feminist act (when it was really an act of self-sabatoge). I acknowledge that one can be a feminist and a terrible wife/girlfriend/partner, but the way I look at the Miley stuff is so far from ?well obvs this needs to be seen through the most feminist lens ever!? Imagine if Liam Hemsworth had his rep announce the split and then within 24 hours, he was kissing another woman on vacation, and the other woman happened to be someone he?d known for a long time and likely been having an affair with. Miley would have gotten so much sympathy. And when she did that to Liam, of course he?s the one getting sympathy. It?s not really about feminism, it?s about who ?wins? the optics of the breakup. And Miley ain?t winning it.
I feel like Miley knows she?s not winning it too. That?s why she?s been running to TMZ and People to tell her side of the story. Again, people would have been more sympathetic to her side if she wasn?t making out with her jumpoff, Kaitlynn Carter, two seconds after everybody learned about the split. Maybe Miley is trying to come at it from another angle though: she stepped out this weekend with mom AND her jumpoff. Oh, Kaitlynn.
Saturday turned into a girls? day out for Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter. The duo, who recently packed on the PDA in Italy, were joined by the singer?s mom, Tish Cyrus, as they grabbed lunch in Los Angeles.

Kaitlynn is the one in Pink pants in these photos. I?ve always sort of liked Tish Cyrus she?s not a perfect mom, but she?s messy in an authentic way, and my guess is that she?s a bit worried about how Miley looks, PR-wise. So Tish is giving her stamp of approval on the jumpoff publicly. It is what it is. I desperately want to know when is the Miss Manners-appropriate amount of time to wait to introduce your mom to your side chick-turned-official though. Is it a week? Or should you wait longer?
