Chloe Sevigny is not exactly what I’d call a beautiful woman. Hell, I wouldn’t even call her a good-looking man in drag. She makes Mrs. Doubtfire look like fucking Miss America.

For whatever reason, Chloe Sevigny has always been considered to be some sort of “it girl” for weird, hipster alternative culture and fashion. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because she’s seemingly fearless while attending events like this year’s CFDA fashion awards (as shown above) in really ugly dresses or indulging in belly-bearing Rodarte. Really though, when I think of Chloe these days, I am instantly reminded of Kaiser’s words while covering last fall’s MoCA event: “Chloe Sevigny was there. Of course. And she looked like a total a?hole. Jesus, Chloe.” That sounds about right for most of Chloe’s outfits.
Of course, someone in power has decided that Chloe was fit to design her own fashion line. In the spirit of promotion, Chloe sat down with Bullett Media to discuss her clothing passions and also gave them a sneak peek at her line. Here are a few glimpses — the line is obviously geared towards a younger crowd, and a few of the staged shots are, um, slightly disturbing with far too much of a “Lolita” vibe going on:
Here are a few excerpts from the accompanying interview, in which Chloe reveals that she’d rather have Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi wear her clothing than boring old Nicky Hilton. Chloe also pays lip service to The Situation being asked by Abercrombie & Fitch to not wear their clothing. Chloe also sort of disses the “Jersey Shore” guys, which doesn’t make much sense because she was spotted earlier this year hanging with DJ Pauly D. Maybe there’s some bad blood of the one-night-stand variety there? Who knows. Onto Chloe and her weird-ass fashion talk:
On Always Being An Outsider: I grew up in a really wealthy community and even the young girls would flaunt their wealth and ostracize girls who didn?t come from money. There was this one girl in particular who was the queen bee at school, and she would have the other girls tie her shoes. Me and a few other girls would go up against her. My parents were a little bit like outsiders, so I became friends with outsiders too: the daughters or sons of alcoholics and kids from divorced families, which then bred rebellion. From a very young age, I knew that I wouldn?t run with the preppy pack. I knew that there was something different in store for me.
On Her Ultimate Clothing Wish: I’ve always fantasized about finding a ’70s Yves Saint Laurent jumpsuit or a big, comfy dress, and wearing it for the rest of my days.
On Her Guilty Pleasure: God, I don’t really have one. I see all the movies, but I don’t think that’s really a guilty pleasure-that’s just supporting my industry. I was a huge American Idol fanatic for a while when I had a TV. I love reality TV.
On Jersey Shore: I think it’s really depressing that people are propping these people up as celebrities. The way they behave is embarrassing, and I think it?s kind of diminishing our culture. Most reality TV people behave like pigs, and it?s unfortunate that they get put on pedestals for doing so.
On How She Prefers Snooki Over Nicky Hilton: I read somewhere that Abercrombie & Fitch offered to pay The Situation not to wear their clothes-but who am I to say who should be wearing mine? I do remember someone saying that…what’s Paris Hilton’s sister called? Isn’t it Nicky or something? Anyway, she apparently talked to someone about my first collection, and was like, ‘I don’t get it.’ I was like, Good! I’m glad she doesn’t get it. It’s not for her. Besides, what’s there to get with clothes? So if Snooki wants to wear my clothes, go for it. I think she’d look a lot better in them. She’s probably just so used to certain things, you know. I have to admit, I do find that JWoWW sexy in a really weird way. It’s like that sexy, dirty kind of girl?not dirty, but like a hot mess. We’ve all gotten too drunk and acted crazy at parties, but I don’t maintain that and I?m kind of fascinated by those girls who do.
Why She Created A Fashion Line: I’m pretty sure everybody knows that I make it all just so I can wear it!
Who She’d Love To Dress: It would for sure be one of the Fanning girls. I don’t think I’d faint, but I would get excited.

Oddly enough, Terry Richardson wasn’t the photographer on the shoot (instead, it’s James Orlando), which surprised me because Creepy Terry and Chloe are so tight. As to Chloe’s dream of dressing Dakota Fanning, that doesn’t surprise me either, for this shoot exudes an aura that is not unlike that of Dakota’s recently banned suggestive Marc Jacobs ad. And both Fanning sisters just did a mutual shoot with Terry too. So basically, the perviness has come full circle here. Ugh.
Back to the point that (I think) Chloe was trying to make when favoring Snooki over Nicky. Part of this comparison stems from the fact that Nicky dissed Chloe’s clothing line, which presumably sparked the interviewer’s line of questioning. Still, it’s unquestionable that Snooki wearing something would give a designer much more exposure at this point than boring old Nicky Hilton, who basically does nothing. Say what you want about the “Jersey Shore” kids — at least they did a little something to reach their level of trashy fame instead of merely being born into a rich, trashy family.

THIS is Chloe Sevigny. Seriously. Can you believe it? Do you think it?s JUST hair dye? If it is, it?s possibly the most radical change I?ve ever seen achieved through simple hair dye. To be fair to the traditionally dirty-blonde Chloe, I think she also dyed her eyebrows, which is really throwing off her face. Or is it something more? Did Chloe get tweaked? Is that her old nose? I honestly can?t tell.
Anyway, these are photos of The New Chloe at the Kenxo show a few days ago. Kenzo has a new team in place, lead by Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, friends of Chloe. So naturally, Chloe was invited to walk the runway - she closed the show in this blue jumpsuit, which looks like a fancy mechanic?s coverall, and yet? it?s not bad. In addition to the photo of Chloe walking the runway, we also have some black-and-white shots courtesy of Terry Richardson?s Diary. Look at all of the photos and really tell me if Chloe got tweaked. I really don?t trust my own eyes.
I will say this - I think she was more striking before, as a blonde who was untweaked. Usually, I?m all for girls going darker with their hair color, but there are just some women who look so much better as a blonde. That being said, Chloe looks younger as a brunette. Or maybe that?s the tweaking?

Okay, I think these are probably the last of the CFDA photos (although I might talk about my Gerard Butler a little later). Here is our beloved whack-job Chloe Sevigny, wearing some kind of frilly-leather combo ensemble, possibly by Opening Ceremony, which is by Chloe?s own line. If this is what she comes up with as a fashion designer? dear God. I love Chloe just because she?s funny, but this combination just looks? cheap.
Next up: Miranda Kerry in this black cutout dress by Michael Kors. I would like to see the dress without the gold belt/embellishment at the waist. And beyond that, I really dislike cutouts. But Miranda doesn?t look bad here.
What?s good about Liv Tyler?s dress - I love the colors. What?s bad about her dress: it looks like wallpaper from the 1970s. It?s by Proenza Schouler, a label I?m starting to think is severely overrated.
And finally, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Ashley is in blue, I guess. They?re both wearing their label, The Row, but MK?s gold jacket is Chanel. I kind of like the blue, just because it?s not incredibly over-sized and frumpy. She should be applauded for not looking like a little old lady for once.

These are photos of Chloe Sevigny at last night?s Chanel-sponsored Tribece Film Festival Artists Dinner. I don?t think Chloe is wearing Chanel, though. At least? yeah, I?m pretty sure that?s not Chanel. Chanel does have some doily couture, but it doesn?t look like this for the most part. As for how Chloe looked overall? well, I know many fashion editors consider her high-fashion. I don?t. I think she?s almost always a hot mess. It?s not even that I always hate what she?s wearing? sometimes she wears interesting clothes. It?s her face. It?s her styling. It?s that she paired what is basically a huge, ugly doily with S&M booties, greasy hair and trashy-looking orange-red lipstick (what is it with the orange-red today?). It?s just a horrible look overall.
By the way, as I was looking to see if Chloe has been up to anything, I saw this piece from Faded Youth. They say several interesting pieces of info. First, Zoe Kravitz was also at this dinner, but there?s no mention of Zoe?s alleged boyfriend Michael Fassbender. Zoe is on the Tribeca Film Festival jury, and obviously, she?s flying solo to a lot of events. But it makes me wonder? are Zoe and Michael over? Discuss. In addition to that little side-step, Faded Youth (quoting a report from Star Mag) claims that Chloe has been dating (ish) a dude named Charlie Smith. I don?t know who he is, but apparently he?s a friend of Spencer Pratt, and he was on The Hills? Here are some gross photos of him. So, according to Faded Youth/Star, at an event a few weeks ago in California, ?Chloe and Charlie arrived together, and though she was one of the event?s hosts, she spent most of her time wrapped up in him. She was beaming.? Whatev.
One more thing - Chloe teamed up with Kiehl?s for a limited edition skin thing. You can read about it here. Here?s a question - if you were a skin care company, would you want Chloe anywhere near your brand?
Last thing - Adrien Brody was also at the event. I actually like his beard! But he still looks like a massive douche to me.

Last night was the LA premiere of the fifth season of HBO?s Big Love. All of the stars were in attendance, including Chloe Sevigny, fresh from her Miami bikini-thon. As we saw from those Miami bikini photos, Chloe?s body is much better than many of us were expecting. But Chloe in all of her hipster fashion glory is quite another thing - the chick is a hot mess. Chloe wore Rodarte to last night?s premiere and? um, this is not a good look. It would be a difficult dress for someone like Halle Berry to pull off, but on Chloe? Jesus. Part of it is the way she?s posing for photos? and the lipstick. And her expression. I mean?she just doesn?t look right in the head, as we say in South.
I did love Ginnifer Goodwin?s pretty Pink Valentino, though. She brought her fianc Joey Kern too - so these are like the first photos of the couple since they announced their engagement. Like, a formal engagement photo shoot. They look really nice (although I still think he has serial killer eyes).

As an apology for the lack of posts/vanishing posts/demon-possessed posts/every single one of Jack Black’s movies, I’d like to offer you these pics of a hot chick in a bikini. No need to look at ‘em up close or anything. Then you might realize that the face attached to the hot chick in a bikini actually belongs to Chloe Sevigny. Then it’s like you just found a short curly hair in the bottom of the ice cream sundae I made you, and that’s not a very good present at all. Sorta defeats the whole purpose.
