This is exactly how I lay in bed too! Diane Kruger and I have so much in common. We both put on fur Uggs, drape a fur biscuit-cover on our asses, and pose provocatively on white comforters. It?s like we?re the same person. Diane is interviewed in the new issue of GQ, to support her role in Unknown, the Liam Neeson film (that he?s promoting in Esquire). The interview isn?t anything big, but Diane did do a big photo spread for the magazine, all of it animal-themed, all of it in bed - you can see GQ?s slideshow here. Here?s the little mini-profile:
One of the more bizarro details in the making-of-Inglourious-Basterds story is that Quentin Tarantino did not want to cast Diane Kruger in the role of Bridget von Hammersmark?the screen icon and Nazi turncoat?because he did not believe Kruger was really German. Evidently Tarantino was unconvinced by her blond hair, blue eyes, and flawless Master Race complexion, not to mention the slightly more compelling evidence that she was born in Lower Saxony, christened with the awfully German surname Heidkrger, and is totally, completely, indisputably German.
“You know how it is,” Kruger says. “Sometimes filmmakers get hung up on something. I basically had to fly to Germany and show him my passport.”
Tarantino’s disbelief was so peculiarly at odds with basic facts that one wonders if he just didn’t have the heart to tell Kruger he thought she wasn’t up to the job. At least that would have made sense. That Kruger delivered such a bold, brassy turn in Basterds was?just bein’ honest here?more than a little stunning, because?still bein’ honest here?her acting career did not begin with much promise. She was so forgettable in Troy and National Treasure that we forgot she was in them. But now Kruger has our full attention.
In conversation, she is much more Bridget von Hammersmark than Helen of Troy: It’s easier to imagine her matching you shot for shot than launching a thousand ships. In her new film, the stolen-identity thriller Unknown, she stars alongside Liam Neeson?though to hear her tell it, “alongside” isn’t quite the word. “I’m five foot seven, but Liam’s about six foot…I dunno, ten? He’s like a bus next to me.” Funny, we forgot he was even on the screen.

I?ll admit, Inglorious Basterds changed my opinion of Diane too. She was so great in that film. And one of her big scenes was with MICHAEL FASSBENDER. See, I got to mention him today. Diane is only one step away from the Fassdong. And that is why I love her. Oh, and she and Joshua Jackson are really cute together. That too.

She just keeps getting hotter, and this time Diane Kruger is glamming up the cover of GQ Germany magazine?s March 2011 issue.
The ?Inglourious Basterds? babe looks nothing short of amazing in a sexy and skin-baring photo spread to accompany her interview.
Speaking of which, Diane shared some details of her red-hot relationship with hunky actor Joshua Jackson.
Diane explained, "Well, Joshua and I do not always work the same time, we miss each other often, and I must constantly fly somewhere to see him, but we take it in our stride, because after all it?s nice to spend time with each other."

She?s always been on top of the latest trends, and Diane Kruger is Glamour magazine?s March cover girl.
The ?Inglourious Basterds? babe discusses her affinity for fashion and even shares some of her own style secrets.
Diane explains, ?I truly, genuinely like clothes. Making them is an art form, and wearing them is a form of self-expression. I find it very emotional because I can remember moments in my life?my mood, how I felt?through these clothes.?
As for her favorite look, Ms. Kruger confesses, ?A well-cut dress. It?s all about the cut. I love three-quarter sleeves. I definitely like it classic; less is more. The thing I despise most is vulgarity, and there?s a lot of that here [in L.A.].?
She also tells of a time when she splurged on a handbag. ?The biggest fashion purchase I ever made I thought about for six years. I?m not kidding. All my life I wanted to own an Herms Constance bag, and when I signed with Calvin Klein, I decided this was the time that I could afford it. I truly broke a sweat when I paid for it.?

Diane Kruger, 34, is the cover girl for Glamour in a ridiculously unattractive tie die shirt and distressed denim jacket. They’re probably just trying to push an image that’s different from Kruger’s normal fashion-forward skinny glamor, but she just looks awkward to me in that pose especially. She’s styled to look like Grease’s Sandy in the other photos, and some of them are ok, but overall I’m not feeling the photoshoot.
Inside, Kruger talks about how she doesn’t really believe in marriage, which is surprising to me because she seems so solid with Joshua Jackson. As The Huffington Post points out, she was married young to French actor/director Guillaume Canet, and that marriage ended after seven years. Canet is now expecting a baby with Marion Cotillard.
Diane Kruger is featured in the upcoming issue of Glamour, and her views on marriage are what’s making the headlines.
Kruger, 34, is dating TV star Joshua Jackson, but her past experiences have taught her that tying the knot — again — isn’t in her future.
I was married very young [to French actor and director Guillaume Canet]. We were together seven years. Without sounding pessimistic, I learned that I don’t believe in marriage. I believe in a commitment that you make in your heart. There’s no paper that will make you stay. A guy friend of mine said, and it made a lot of sense, that people should get married at the end of the road, not the beginning.
In some ways, that may go back even further than her experiences with Canet. Kruger divulges that her father was an alcoholic, and she, her mother and her brother moved out of their home when she was 13 years old.
“I also made a lot of boys pay for my father’s behavior,” she admitted.
As for her future with Jackson? She may not want a ring, but she does want kids — one day. And her ex, Canet? He’s got a child on the way already, with actress Marion Cotillard.

If that’s what works for her in her relationship, good for her. A lot of women decide to give up on marriage after they’ve had a bad experience (or three) with it, just look at Halle Berry. I wonder if her “male friend” who told her that people should get married at the “end” not the beginning, was Joshua Jackson. Like if he was gung-ho on marriage would she change her mind? Also, does that make any sense to you? I get the general sentiment, but at the end of a relationship there’s no point getting married because it’s almost over anyway.

Breaking away for a romantic holiday, Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson were spotted out on the beach in Cabo San Lucas on Monday (January 10).
Wearing a black panther bathing suit, the German actress joined her "Dawson's Creek" actor beau for a romantic stroll on the beach as the two continue to enjoy their trip to Mexico.
The vacation comes just after Miss Kruger was announced as signing on for a role in "Farewell, My Queen".
She'll reportedly be playing Marie Antoinette in the upcoming movie alongside Lea Seydoux and Gerard Depardieu.

Generally speaking, Diane Kruger is pretty boring. She?s made a few good movies, and many not-so-great movies. She?s not really a world-class actress, but she?s serviceable and pretty, and she seems reasonably down-to-earth. The only times I?ve ever been excited by Diane were: 1) when she was rumored to be maybe-boning Brad Pitt when they worked on Inglourious Basterds, 2) when she wears something totally gorgeous or totally funky on the red carpet, as she is one of the ?fashion girls? and 3) when she?s gushing about her boyfriend of many years, Joshua Jackson. Joshua and Diane aren?t really a big A-list couple, but they are solid B-list, maybe even B+. And I?ve always wondered about them - do they get really hot for each other? What?s their home life like? Does her accent ever piss him off? Well, as it turns out, Diane has no problem talking about Josh and their future plans (hint: babies!). She was interviewed in The Daily Mail over the weekend, and her quotes are very interesting (full Mail piece here):
[In] a celebrity-obsessed world that loves two for the price of one, it cannot be denied that her relationship with Joshua Jackson has done much to raise her profile. We meet at the beginning of Josh?s annual three-month break from Fringe ? which is filmed in Vancouver ? and the couple are about to take off on a ?European tour? that is clearly preoccupying Diane. The couple, who met in 2006, rarely have the opportunity to spend much time together. They live, she says, like ?gypsies? between a rented flat in Vancouver, her home in Paris and an apartment in LA.
?He is in Vancouver nine months of the year, and then I am away making movies, so there are long periods when we don?t see each other and it?s hard. I am taking time off work because we promised each other this period together.?
?[The paparazzi] do take pictures of us when we are in New York or LA, but it doesn?t bother us because we don?t have super-interesting lives for them. We don?t go out a lot and I certainly don?t go to clubs without any underwear on. We love the outdoors, we love cycling and hiking and we are both very green ? not pursuits that the paparazzi tend to be interested in.?
Paris remains her favourite city and the place she thinks of as ?home? (she has an apartment close to her mentor Karl Lagerfeld). Indeed, for all her transatlantic gloss, she still considers herself to be European.
?I see myself raising my children in Europe, probably in Paris. Josh loves Paris and he is cool with that, but we will see what happens when we get there ? or if we get there.?
However close they are, there will not, she says, be a wedding. Diane?s marriage in 2001 ? to actor/director Guillaume Canet, which ended in 2006 (he is now with Marion Cotillard) ? has left her disillusioned about what she believes is ?just a piece of paper?.
?Because I was married I know that, no matter what paper you sign, if you want out, you get out. But that doesn?t mean I don?t believe in commitment. I think commitment is very important, particularly for me. I am a better person when I let myself have the time for romance and for love. I think for too many years I actually let that slide,? she says, a little pensively.
She?s highly domestic (she regards ironing as therapy), loves to cook and has a vast library of cookbooks, counting Jamie Oliver as one of her favourite chefs.
?Two weeks ago I did an eight-hour lamb. We were in LA and we had friends over on a Sunday and the lamb was in the oven and we could smell it all day ? it was great. I love food.?
Diane doesn?t exactly look as if she loves food ? with her slender 5ft 7in frame elongated by those shoes, she appears pretty close to a size zero, but vehemently denies it. ?I am not size zero ? I wish! I am a 2 [British size 6] or sometimes a 4 [8] ? it depends. If I spend too long in Germany and eat too many cakes and schnitzel my weight goes up. But I don?t obsess about it any more. I just know I?ve got to watch it when my pants feel too tight.?

Aw? she sounds nice. Surprisingly normal. She also talks about her obsession with gigantic heels, and how Josh always ends up half-carrying her through events because she can?t walk. I?d venture a guess in saying that Josh and Diane are for real, and they?re totally in love. Of course, I thought that about Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel, and now everyone is yelling at me, saying that he?s a big cheater. So maybe I?m bad at reading relationships today. Whatever.

Treating herself to a delicious dinner, Diane Kruger was spotted hitting up Madeo?s restaurant in West Hollywood last night (June 16).
The ?Inglourious Basterds? actress looked to be in good spirits as she made her exit, sporting a pale blue dress as she signed autographs.
In a recent interview, Diane revealed that during a charity event last year she almost accidentally killed fellow actress Sharon Stone.
?I was at this auction last year for amfAR ? a foundation for AIDS research ? and Sharon Stone was hosting. Josh and I were supposed to auction off a Segway. And for some reason I decided to get on it, wearing really high heels. I was totally off balance, and I nearly killed Sharon Stone.?
?I?m not kidding. I ran over the train of her dress, and she stumbled and almost fell off the stage. Josh had to pull me off. I could see the headlines, ?Diane Kruger kills Sharon Stone.??

Clad in a snazzy black Chanel sequined dress, the "Inglorious Basterds" babe dazzled as she strutted alongside her "Fringe" actor beau at the annual event.
The cute couple arrived in France the previous day, as they're in town for the Cannes International Film Festival - which kicks off tomorrow (May 12).
During their first night in town, Diane and Josh joined the likes of Karolina Kurkova and Archie Drury at a swanky Chanel party.

Stepping out together on the red carpet, Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson were spotted at the 30th Annual Genie Awards Gala in Toronto, Canada on Monday (April 12).
After the awards ceremony, the ?National Treasure? actress congratulated her boyfriend of 4 years - who had just received the Best Actor trophy.
The couple looked so happy together as they embraced and kissed while sharing the excitement of the Genie award.
Of winning Best Actor, Mr Jackson said it was "very unexpected. I can't believe I won something.?
