This is easily the stupidest controversy of the month (a month full of really dumb scandals). To recap, Stephanie Seymour was at an event for her friend Naomi Campbell a few weekends ago. Stephanie and Naomi were part of the supermodel/glamazon crew that dominated the modeling industry for a decade or more, and Stephanie was asked about the current crop of Insta-models, like Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. Stephanie said they were beautiful girls but that she didn?t think they should be called ?supermodels,? because TRUTH. When asked what the Gigis and Kendalls of the world should be called, Stephanie joked ?bitches of the moment.? A mild insult or a joke, you decide. Days after Seymour?s comments went viral, Kendall Jenner threw a tantrum on her website claiming that Seymour had ?publicly shamed? her and more. It was asinine. So, now Stephanie has come out to clarify:
“I don’t usually address rumors, but since feelings have been hurt I would like to set the story straight. At an event last week I was jokingly asked if the ?era of supermodels’ was over, what should we call the new great ?it’ girls?? There were no names mentioned, and NO ill intent involved. A supermodel is a supermodel. I respect and admire all these women in my industry, in particular Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner. Having been in the business over 20 years I know how hard these women work. Bravo to both Gigi and Kendall for their success!!”

Stephanie shouldn?t have to apologize or clarify. The original Vanity Fair article provided all of the necessary context and it was clear that she was just joking, or at WORST, she was just throwing some minor shade, the kind of shade we all throw at these nepotism-models. I do love this though: ?since feelings have been hurt?? I?d like to believe she wrote that with an eyeroll. Like, ?these petty little girls, fine, I?ll clarify.?
Also: Gigi Hadid?s mom Yolanda Foster said many words about Stephanie?s comments too. Yolanda said: ?It’s sad to see some of these beautiful semi-retired supermodels, who are mothers themselves now, feel the need to publicly put down someone else’s daughter.” Dumbest controversy of the month, I?m just saying.

Back in 2011, Stephanie Seymour was on vacation in St. Bart?s with her two sons. The paparazzi got some strange photos of Stephanie frolicking in the surf with those sons and a lot of people were like, ?Ew, inappropriate.? There were several photos where it looked like Stephanie and her son Peter Brant Junior (then 17) were kissing on the lips as he grabbed her boob. Junior?s explanation for the photos made it worse: his explanation was that he?s gay and he and his mom have a special relationship. The hell?
So, long story short, Stephanie and her sons have decided to revive this controversy in the pages of Harper?s Bazaar. Pantsless Stephanie posed for Bazaar with her sons clinging provocatively to her legs, because OF COURSE.
Oh, mama! Those aren?t any random male models clinging to Stephanie Seymour?s leg ? those are her sons. The 45-year-old supermodel posed for Harper?s Bazaar wearing sexy lingerie, and had her boys ? Peter Brant II, 20, and Harry, 17 ? pose with her.
The provocative spread comes three years after she was photographed in a tiny bikini on a St. Bart?s beach, frolicking and kissing Peter, who said people were ?gross? for insinuating he had an inappropriate relationship with his mom.
?They are fearless kids. They grew up surrounded by art,? a family friend told me. ?They decided to combat silliness with silliness.?
Harper?s Bazaar Editor-in-Chief Glenda Bailey said, ?It?s a coup to have captured Stephanie Seymour?s first photo session with her sons. They are a family that puts the fun into fashion.?
The boys grew up in Greenwich, Conn., with a life-size nude bust of their mother on the wall ? a work by Maurizio Cattelan, who was inspired by the taxidermied hunting trophies of their father, polo-playing art collector Peter Brant.
When the beach photos caused a stir three years ago, Peter II ? who describes himself on Facebook as ?a designer, art collector, socialite and model? ? stated: ?My mother and I are very close as she is with all her children .?.?. We have nothing to hide and with that in mind I would like to say that I am openly gay .?.?. and yes, our relationship may be different because of my sexuality.?
Seymour, who was once engaged to Guns N? Roses rocker Axl Rose, is a marvel of motherhood, with two other kids as well. She?s looking good. She can?t help being hot.

So, is this inappropriate? Well? I guess?? I actually think Stephanie is probably a very tolerant, loving and adoring mother. She?s obviously very close to her sons and they seem to worship her. So, I think their relationship is solid. But they could try to be a little bit more thoughtful about how they appear to everyone outside their little world.

Stephanie Seymour and her sons are close as evidenced by photos like these and these. So it should come as no surprise that she and her two sons, 20-year-old Peter Brant Jr. and 17-year-old Harry Brant, did a mother-son fashion editorial in the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar. Seymour tells Harper’s that her kids were into fashion at a young age and they would always want her to slut up whenever she went out.
“When they were little, they would lay out outfits for me,” recalls Seymour, 45. Their favorite thing to do was dress her up for parent-teacher conferences. “I’d wake up at 7:30 A.M. and they would have laid out a 1955 vintage Dior couture gown and all the accessories too. They liked things to be monochromatic: The dress would be blue and the bag would be blue, and blue Manolo Blahnik shoes. Always a Manolo, and never a flat.” But would she wear it? “Are you crazy?” Turns out the supermodel mama got enough attention as it was at PTA meetings and has a special conservative wardrobe just for school trips.
And if they were good little boys, she’d let them clean her jewelry. She had that mother thing down to an art.
“Peter knows every piece of jewelry I own,” she adds.”As a child, if he was being a good boy in school and behaving, as a special treat I would open my safe and he could go through all my jewelry and clean it. But I’d sit there with him because I knew if I didn’t, it would all be gone!”
Here she is posing in lingerie with her sons. In one of them, they’re lacing her up. In others, their crotches are precariously close to her ass. If I had to do a photo shoot with my mom and the photographer told me to pose like this, I’d jump out of a window.

Taking a relaxing post-holiday break, Stephanie Seymour hit the beach in Saint Barthelemy on Saturday (December 28).
Accompanied by her husband Peter Brant and their children the former Sports Illustrated model showed off her enviable figure in a floral bikini as she romped in the water.
The 45-year-old and her loved ones take their vacation to the French West Indies each year at this time.
Known for her bikini shoots, Stephanie spoke about her favorite clothing when she was a child, sharing, "my red and black Norma Kamali cowboy boots, and my red mini skirt."

Every time pictures of Stephanie Seymour at the beach with her kid come out at this time of year, I have to do a double take and confirm with Google that she is in fact in her mid-forties.I’m not exactly sure how she stays looking this good but I’m guessing there were a lot of virgin sacrifices involved. A lot.

Enjoying a holiday vacation at the beach, Stephanie Seymour showed off her beach bod on St. Barts in the French West Indies on Saturday (December 22).
The 44-year-old model looked great in a navy string bikini as she played in the surf with her children Lily and Harry.
Just a couple of years ago on the same beach, scandal emerged for the Victoria's Secret Model when her now 18-year-old son, Peter II was snapped embracing and kissing his mother on the mouth and apparently brushing his hand over her breast.
However, afterwards Peter II issued a statement, saying, "I would just like to say that these pictures have been taken completely out of context, my mother and I are very close as she is with all her children. We have nothing to hide and with that in mind I would like to say that I am openly gay. At my age my mother and I are almost like friends and I feel open to talk to her about anything (and yes our relationship may be different because of my sexuality)."

These photos (especially this NSFW one here) of Stephanie Seymour in the Fall 2012 issue of i-D magazine could explain why her son, even though he’s gay, gets boners when he sees her in a bikini and why he has the sudden urge to make out with her. For a 44-year-old, she’s hot. Usually I’d say I’d be gay to not get an erection and try to make out with her but apparently even that’s not true.
