Rihanna had a busy New York Fashion Week her Fenty X Savage show was considered one of the best shows of NYFW, and then she always throws her Diamond Ball during fashion week to raise money for charity (it benefits the Clara Lionel Foundation, named after her grandparents). While Rihanna?s Givenchy couture gown isn?t my jam, she looks amazing, as always. She also looks? busty? And like she?s possibly pregnant? Rihanna is doing so much with Fenty Beauty, plus her lingerie line, plus music plus acting plus I think she?s still dating that hot guy, although we rarely hear about that. Rihanna has had a long-standing relationship with Dior, and she?s the face of Dior Sunglasses. But Rihanna is not content to just model for big fashion houses. No. She?s going to create her own fashion line under the Fenty banner, and she?s doing it for the biggest fashion conglomerate in the world, LVMH.
Rihanna and LVMH (Mot Hennessy Louis Vuitton) have officially confirmed they are going into the fashion business together under the Fenty banner. The pop star and the French luxury giant issued a brief statement saying the new luxury maison would be based in Paris. It will be ?centered on Rihanna, developed by her, and takes shape with her vision in terms of ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories, including commerciality and communication of the brand.? The release mentioned the collection would debut for spring 2019 retailing, but did not detail the distribution strategy or precise timing.
It is understood the products will be released in the coming weeks, mainly via digital channels. The statement spelled out a Web domain ? http://www.fenty.com ? and revealed the logo.
?Everybody knows Rihanna as a wonderful singer, but through our partnership at Fenty Beauty, I discovered a true entrepreneur, a real CEO and a terrific leader. She naturally finds her full place within LVMH. To support Rihanna to start up the Fenty Maison, we have built a talented and multicultural team supported by the group resources. I am proud that LVMH is leading this venture and wish it will be a great success,? said Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive officer of LVMH.
For her part, Rihanna said, ?Designing a line like this with LVMH is an incredibly special moment for us. Mr. Arnault has given me a unique opportunity to develop a fashion house in the luxury sector, with no artistic limits. I couldn?t imagine a better partner both creatively and business-wise, and I?m ready for the world to see what we have built together.?

Rihanna has obviously had fashion collections and fashion collaborations before, but I get the feeling that this will be a whole new thing, a new vision of fashion today, and it won?t be athleisure or prim cocktail dresses or whatever. I love that LVHM is doing this, and I love that Rihanna will be building and expanding her Fenty brand with such a reputable and respected company. It?s going to be huge.

It felt like Rihanna?s last album, Anti, landed quietly and then became a slow-burner. Years after the fact, I think Anti was probably her strongest album, and it showed a lot of maturity as an artist. It?s been three years since Anti came out. Rihanna?s biggest fans have been begging for any information about the new album, and she?s made them wait and wait. But it will probably be happening? soon?
For months, Rihanna?s dedicated legion of fans, collectively known as the Rihanna Navy, have been flooding her Instagram notifications with ?Where?s the album?? comments. It?s closer than they think. Multiple sources confirm to Us Weekly exclusively that the Grammy winner, 30, recently finished recording her ninth album. It is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2016?s Anti, which spawned the hit singles ?Work? featuring Drake, ?Kiss It Better,? ?Needed Me? and ?Love on the Brain.?
Rihanna confirmed on Instagram in late December that she would release her next record sometime in 2019. Days later, one eager fan commented, ?I need music,? to which the singer replied, ?It?s still 2018.?
?[Rihanna?s team] have, no lie, 500 records for this project [from] different producers and writers,? a dancehall producer who asked to remain anonymous told the magazine. ?They?re only choosing 10 records. They?ve been having writing camps and trying to keep them quiet for almost a year and a half now. I?ve been flying to Miami, flying to L.A., cutting records nonstop for this project.? Another unnamed source close to the project told Rolling Stone, ?Every artist, every producer, every songwriter in Jamaica or of Jamaican descent has been working on [Rihanna?s album] and has little snippets of publishing or production credits on it.?

Beyonce does that too, she records about a million songs and then she spends months carefully culling them into one album. Some day, maybe we?ll hear the stuff that didn?t make it into Anti, or Lemonade or whatever else. Oooh? do you think Rihanna will surprise everyone and perform at the Grammys next weekend? You never hear much about Rihanna?s father, Ronald Fenty. Rihanna is super-close to the women in her family, from her mom Monica to her sisters Kandy and Samantha to various cousins and relations. It?s believed that Rihanna barely has any contact with her dad, and she cut him out of her life years ago. Ronald Fenty was reportedly abusive towards Rihanna?s mom, so? old sins cast long shadows. But Ronald Fenty is still trying to profit off his daughter, because pieces of sh-t never change.
Rihanna?s tumultuous relationship with her father has just taken a turn for the worse after the singer filed a lawsuit claiming her dad is exploiting her name to try and get rich. RiRi just filed the lawsuit, obtained by The Blast, against Ronald Fenty and a company called Fenty Entertainment. Rihanna claims her father, and another man named Moses Perkins, created an entertainment company and have been soliciting business acting as agents of the singer.
The star says she has nothing to do with Fenty Entertainment, and that ?Although Mr. Fenty is Rihanna?s father, he does not have, and never has had, authority to act on Rihanna?s behalf.?
The ?Umbrella? singer claims some of the erroneous bookings by her father includes a $15 million tour in Latin America and two concerts at Staples Center in Los Angeles and T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas for $400,000. In both cases, she claims to have nothing to do with the bookings. She also says Ronald claimed he ran the business offers by Rihanna?s actual label, Roc Nation, but the singer argues nobody from Roc Nation was ever made aware of anything Ronald was doing. In 2018, Ronald tried to trademark the phrase ?Fenty? for a line of boutique hotels, but it was shot down by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
Rihanna claims she has sent many cease and desist letters to her father and his business partner, but they did not stop. She is now forced to file a lawsuit and wants an injunction against her father, as well as unspecified damages.
Rihanna has discussed her rocky relationship with her father in the past, claiming she witnessed Ronald abusing her mom when she was a child. She told Oprah that she once witnessed her mother suffer a broken nose at the hands of her father.

Somewhere, the White Markles are taking notes. Ugh, when we talk about abuse and abusive people, the focus is very rarely on financial abuse, but that is present in so many of these cases. Ronald Fenty is abusing his daughter financially and he clearly doesn?t care that he?s trying to ruin her business reputation. This is textbook fraud and it feels like this isn?t just a civil matter, it?s a criminal matter. He?s defrauding people and using Rihanna?s name to do it. Ugh.

Last month, the news broke about next year?s Super Bowl Halftime performers: the NFL had apparently signed up Maroon 5, and they would be performing at the Super Bowl in Atlanta. Atlanta, the same city in the midst of a black Renaissance, where dozens of hugh rap, hip-hop, gospel and soul performers live. The NFL is getting a bunch of white dude-bros to perform. So obviously, everyone knew it was a problem, and that?s why there?s also a rumor going around that the NFL is desperate to bring in Cardi B as a ?guest? to perform alongside Maroon 5.
Most of us myself included thought the Maroon 5 hire was just a random, dumb choice by the NFL. The NFL has proven over and over that they are utterly tone-deaf on everything from racial issues, domestic violence issues to mere integrity of the sport, so many of us assumed the Maroon 5 choice was just the ?do no harm? pick. Well, as it turns out, the Maroon 5 hire was more complicated than simple white-bro tunnel-vision. According to Us Weekly, the NFL tried to hire Rihanna. She turned them down? because of Colin Kaepernick.
Rihanna stands with Kap. The ?Work? singer declined an offer to headline the Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show because she ?supports Colin Kaepernick,? a source tells Us Weekly exclusively.
?The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year?s performer in Atlanta,? the insider reveals. ?They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn?t agree with the NFL?s stance.?
Kaepernick, who once admitted to having a crush on Rihanna, was the first NFL player to kneel during the national anthem in protest of police brutality and racial inequality. The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, 30, has not played since stirring controversy during the 2016 season. He filed a grievance against the league and its owners in November 2017, accusing them of colluding to keep him off the field. After Rihanna, 30, rebuffed the halftime offer, the NFL extended it to Maroon 5. Us Weekly broke the news in September that the Adam Levine-fronted pop-rock group gleefully accepted.

You know who ends up looking like a total douchenozzle here? Adam Levine and the dudes of Maroon 5. Rihanna is this incredible badass who looked white supremacy in the face and said ?nah bitch.? Adam Levine was too much of a sellout and corporate shill to even question if his branding would be hurt by siding with the NFL rather than Colin Kaepernick. Anyway, just another reason to love Rihanna she knows she would make money off performing at the Super Bowl. She knows she would kill it and it would be her most-watched performance of all time. She still didn?t care, because it would have meant going against something she believes in: the right for Colin Kaepernick and every single person to protest and speak his or her mind.

Rihanna is a proud Barbadian/Bajan. She was born and raised in Barbados, and she returns home several times a year. She invests in Barbados and she?s possibly one of the most famous Bajans ever. But Rihanna is also a citizen of the world, spreading joy and shade and music and makeup and sexiness wherever she goes. And for that, Barbados is super-proud of their favorite daughter. So they?re giving her an ambassadorship.
Rihanna just got a promotion. After seven years as a cultural ambassador for her native Barbados, the pop star, 30, has been appointed the nation?s ?Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary,? according to a press release from the country?s Government Information Service.
?Rihanna has a deep love for this country and this is reflected in her philanthropy, especially in the areas of health and education. She also shows her patriotism in the way she gives back to this country and continues to treasure the island as her home,? Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley said in the statement. ?She has also demonstrated, beyond her success as a pop icon, significant creative acumen and shrewdness in business. It is therefore fitting that we engage and empower her to play a more definitive role as we work to transform Barbados.?
Having already helped promote tourism to Barbados since 2008, Rihanna will now also promote the country?s education and investment efforts as part of her new responsibilities.
In the statement, Rihanna was quoted as saying she ?couldn?t be more proud? of being given the chance to help shape the future of her home country.
?I couldn?t be more proud to take on such a prestigious title in my home country,? she said. ?Every Barbadian is going to have to play their role in this current effort, and I?m ready and excited to take on the responsibility. I look forward to working with Prime Minister Mottley and her team to reimagine Barbados.?

I?m pretty sure that this means that Rihanna has some kind of diplomatic immunity at this point. May she only use it for good! By that I mean, I hope Rihanna just smokes a joint wherever she goes, steals as many wine glasses as she can carry and continue to wear whatever she wants. If a cop tries to say something she?ll take a big drag from her blunt and say ?Nah, diplomatic immunity, sis.? In all seriousness, I love how much Barbados loves Rihanna and how much she gives back. She?s a great advertisement for the small country.
