You’re not going to believe this but Alec Baldwin has a strong distaste for the paparazzi. Sometimes it’s hard to tell because he’s always so calm and collected but, in this letter he wrote to the East Hampton Star in late September, you can tell he doesn’t care much for them. It’s pretty long so here are the highlights.
Fifteen or 20 minutes of separating himself from every other person in the vicinity by seeking to casually invade the privacy of people out in public and attempting to live their lives in peace; by insisting that he has a job to do and that public figures are never, ever entitled to normal consideration, even in small-town East Hampton; by lying in wait, like kidnappers and home invaders do, then abruptly popping up to find the desired moment to take advantage of. Then walking into a place of business, standing 10 feet away from his ?target,? acting as if nothing happened.
That is the second description of one of the photogs he mentions. He doesn’t like the guy. Don’t know if that was apparent.
What has gone wrong with our society that this vermin has spawned in East Hampton? These are not New Yorkers that have slithered out here. They are home grown. They are locals. And they obviously have no idea about how to live in a community like ours.
I hope that our local government will address this issue, which has nothing to do with freedom of the press and everything to do with criminal harassment, abuse, and authorizing the intimidation and stalking of one group in our society while protecting the basic rights of all others.
On one hand, rich famous people probably deserve the same rights to privacy as normal people who can’t afford to spend all day writing and re-writing angry letters to the East Hampton Star do. On the other hand, fuck this guy. It’s Alec Baldwin.

He?s coming back to network television, and Alec Baldwin can?t wait for fans to get a load of his new MSNBC show ?Up Late.?
In a new promotional video, the ?30 Rock? hunk is introduced by Ed Schultz, who really builds the suspense behind the new gig.
Schultz states, "Responding to criticism, MSNBC has turned to a man who can restore balance to an unbalanced network. A man who will address the great issues of our time while keeping his emotions in check. Above all, a man who values reason over passion and provides a soothing voice for these troubled times.?
From there, a smiling Baldwin swings in and declares, ?That?s right. It?s me.? ?Up Late? premieres on October 11th.

When I wrote about Alec Baldwin?s newborn child, a daughter named Carmen Gabriela, I wrote these words: ?I always hope age and time will give Alec wisdom and help him chill out a bit, but my gossip sixth sense is telling me that he?s going to be much, much worse now that he has a newborn to ‘protect’. He?ll be a fierce, violent bear of man protecting his daughter.? Well, guess what? Alec went full rage-monster against a paparazzo yesterday. Alec was with Hilaria and when a photographer tried to take Alec?s photo, Alec attacked the guy and bent him over a car and started hollering at the pap. Because of course he did.
Alec Baldwin has struck again … allegedly … grabbing a photog on the streets of New York in front of several witnesses … and now the NYPD is involved.
Sources connected with Baldwin tell TMZ … the photog was the aggressor. We spoke to the photog — not a TMZ guy — who tells us he did nothing to provoke Alec saying, “All I can say is I was doing my job asking him normal questions and he flipped. That’s all.”
The photog says he called police … and cops responded to the scene. A friend of Alec tells us … Alec was with his wife Hilaria during the incident … and Hilaria, in an effort to avoid the pap, ducked into a nearby tea store. We’re told Alec also called police.
The friend tells us, “What kind of sick twisted psychopath chases a woman who just got out of the hospital from having a baby into a tea store?”
Hilaria just gave birth to the couple’s daughter on August 23.
10:00 AM PT — A rep for the NYPD tells us … cops have spoken with both the photog and Alec who each admit pushing and shoving each other.
We’re told both parties ultimately decided to walk away from the situation without pursuing charges. So … case closed.

I know many of you will give Alec the benefit of the doubt. ?But Hilaria just had a baby!? you?ll say. ?Alec was just being protective,? you?ll say. ?Paps are scum,? you?ll say. Which is fine, and those are all valid (-ish) points. But the truth is that I?m beyond giving Alec any benefit of any doubt. This happens much too often with him, with or without his wife, with or without any extenuating circumstances. Alec hates the paparazzi, and the paps know this and so they troll him. And instead of acting like an adult, walking away and ignoring them, Alec always attacks violently and/or offensively. The new baby isn?t going to calm him down at all. The baby will only make him angrier. And furrier.

After Alec Baldwin ranted at that “toxic little queen” George Stark of The Daily Mail last week, a few people were of the opinion that Alec Baldwin might be a homophobe. Alec Baldwin wants to clear something up. Alec Baldwin is nothing of the sort. In fact, Alec Baldwin has a gay friend or something or other.
Issuing a statement to GLAAD, Baldwin tried to explain away the gay by saying the word “queen” has nothing to do with being a homosexual.
“My ill-advised attack on George Stark of the Daily Mail had absolutely nothing to do with issues of anyone’s sexual orientation. My anger was directed at Mr. Stark for blatantly lying and disseminating libelous information about my wife and her conduct at our friend’s funeral service. As someone who fights against homophobia, I apologize.”
“A queen to me has a different meaning,” he said. “It?s somebody who?s just above. It doesn?t have any necessarily sexual connotations. To me a queen… I know women that act queeny, I know men that are straight that act queeny, and I know gay men that act queeny. It doesn?t have to be a definite sexual connotation, or a homophobic connotation.”
“If homosexuality was an issue for me, I would have moved out of New York years ago. I find that laughable.”
A light bulb just went off in Paula Deen’s head and she quickly smiled to herself while jotting down, “If black people were an issue for me, I would have moved out of the South years ago. I find that laughable.” Thank you, Alec Baldwin!

The ?30 Rock? hunk reacted to George Stark?s story, ?Alec Baldwin?s pregnant wife Hilaria TWEETS about Rachel Ray and anniversary gifts during James Gandolfini's funeral,? which claimed, ?the pregnant yoga instructor?s social media feed was full of upbeat posts while the Sopranos star?s friends, family and co-stars were gripped with grief at a New York Catholic church.?
Baldwin took to his Twitter account to say, ?Someone wrote that my wife was tweeting at a funeral. Hey. That?s not true. But I?m gonna tweet at your funeral.?
But he was just getting warmed up- Alec continued, ?George Stark, you lying little b*tch. I am gonna f%#@ you up. I?m gonna find you, George Stark, you toxic little queen, and I?m gonna f**k?you?up. How much of this sh*t are people supposed to take? With these f**king blatant lies EVERY DAY.?
In a much more calm response, Hilaria tweeted, ?FYI I don?t believe in bringing phones into a funeral and I never did and I never would. I don?t know what hurts

James Gandolfini was laid to rest yesterday and among those in attendance were Alec Baldwin and his pregnant yoga wife Hilaria. Notable because the Daily Mail reports that while the funeral was going on, Hilaria was tweeting. These tweets included soliciting ideas for wedding anniversary presents and promoting her appearance on the Rachel Ray Show.

Enjoying the summer social scene while supporting a good cause, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin attended the Dive Into Summer Benefit for the East End Group at Wolffer Estate Vineyard in Sagoponack, New York on Saturday (June 15).
The "30 Rock" star wore a blue button-down shirt, black blazer, and khakis, while his yoga instructor wife donned a pretty sleeveless purple gown over her baby bump.
Established in 1972, Group for the East End protects and restores the environment of eastern Long Island, New York through education, citizen action, and professional advocacy. The organization hopes to inspire people to embrace a conservation ethic.
Though the hit NBC comedy show has run its course, the 55-year-old actor just returned to the small screen in a more serious role. As host of National Geographic's "Night of Exploration," he'll introduce a series beginning with the titles, "Crossing the Ice" and "Mystery Bear of the Arctic."

NBC persists in its late-night shakeup after last week’s official announcement that Jay Leno was retiring (again) and handing the reins of the “Tonight Show” to Jimmy Fallon. This bit of news has been followed up with the rumor that Seth Meyers might replace Fallon, and of course, nobody knows who would replace Seth on “SNL.” Not that it matters — I don’t know a single cast current “SNL” cast member’s name except Meyers.
Another development in this sudden burst of reprogramming is a bit of a surprise. Alec Baldwin is supposedly in the running to replace Carson Daly in the “Last Call” time slot. Yes, that’s the same Alec Baldwin who can barely control his rage at any slight provocation, and he would be interviewing other celebrities. Could this actually work? It sounds almost genius:
A well-known name is the latest to surface in the populated field of late night television hosts: Alec Baldwin. The Emmy-winning actor is in the mix for a spot in NBC’s late-night lineup, one executive involved in the network?s program planning said. The executive asked not to be identified because the talks were still in initial stages.
The most likely landing place for a show hosted by Mr. Baldwin would be in the latest of NBC’s entries, the show now called “Last Call.” That half-hour interview program currently stars Carson Daly. Mr. Daly is also the host of NBC’s biggest show, “The Voice.”
NBC is in the midst of what looks like a complete overhaul of its late-night lineup. Last week, the network confirmed that Jimmy Fallon, now host of NBC?s “Late Night,” would be taking over the “Tonight” from Jay Leno when he steps down next February. The show will move from Los Angeles to New York with Mr. Fallon as star.
After that move was announced, speculation immediately began about who might succeed Mr. Fallon at the “Late Night” show. Now the mutual interest between Mr. Baldwin and NBC about opening a late-night spot for the actor could result in three new late-night hosts for NBC.
Mr. Baldwin ended his much-praised run as a star on this NBC comedy “30 Rock” this season. He twice won the Emmy Award for Best Actor in a Comedy for his work as Jack Donaghy.
Mr. Baldwin has also been long regarded one of the best guests on late-night television shows. And he has won critical praise for a podcast series he created with WNYC radio in New York, called “Here’s The Thing.” In the series, Mr. Baldwin has interviewed a wide range of guests, including David Letterman, Billy Joel, Kristen Wiig, Chris Rock, Lena Dunham, and the Indianapolis Colts quarterback, Andrew Luck.
The advantage of hosting a similar show for television would be that Mr. Baldwin could record several interviews in a single day and leave his schedule open to perform as an actor, either in movies or potentially another television comedy.

Deadline notes that Alec was signed to a two-year overall deal with NBC after he left “30 Rock,” so the network is bound to do something with him to fulfill this contract. Might as well be this project? The thing is … I don’t know if Alec would be down with a show that airs at 1:35 am.
Still, the network could definitely do worse than Alec. People may be incredibly wary of his rage monster ways, but he’s never been anything but a consummate professional in the workplace. I’d really like to see him bring out Shia “Email Leaker” LaBeouf as his first guest, and they could talk about what it really means “to be a man.” That would be rich.

Alec Baldwin, 54, married his much younger (and mysteriously so) girlfriend, Hilaria Thomas, on Saturday at NYC’s St. Patrick’s Cathedral after a three-month engagement. Here are some photos from outside the church, and Alec totally kept his cool in front of photographers — unlike earlier this month when he allowed his inner rage monster to take over while attacking an NYDN photographer. There was also a little incident last week in which Alec mouthed off and threatened another photog, but while he said some offensive things to the guy, he didn’t completely fly off the handle. So … progress. And at his wedding, Alec seemed to completely behave himself, which might be because he wants to still claim that his yoga instructor woman is a calming influence. Perhaps that’s a bit rude of me to joke about, but I still find it Hilarious (get it?) that Hilaria the yoga instructor would marry such an anger-filled man. Namaste.
Anyway, Alec and Hilaria were very hush hush about their impending nuptuals like nearly any celebrity (or in this case, half-celebrity) couple. The New York Post learned that Alec went a bit overboard by withholding reception details until yesterday and then sending them via text message. Oddly enough, this is Alec’s first marriage in the eyes of the Catholic Church since he and Kim Basinger were married on a Hampton’s beach instead of inside an actual brick-and-mortar church. Only three months after announcing their engagement, Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Thomas have tied the knot.
The 30 Rock star, 54, and yoga instructor, who is at least 25 years his junior, wed on Saturday at St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral in New York, a friend of the couple’s confirms to PEOPLE.
The bride — who’ll now take Baldwin’s name — wore a silk magnolia trumpet Amsale gown with cap sleeves and a keyhole back neckline accented with crystal buttons.
Amsale also dressed Hilaria’s mother and Baldwin’s daughter Ireland. Baldwin had a tuxedo by Tom Ford.
Friend Matthew Hiltzik tells PEOPLE: “Hilaria Thomas and Alec Baldwin were married this evening at St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral in New York City with family and friends sharing in the joy of the occasion.”
The Rev. George Deas performed the ceremony, which was conducted in English with readings in Spanish (the bride grew up mostly in Spain), and guests included Baldwin’s costar Tina Fey and his brothers Stephen and Billy Baldwin.
Also attending were Woody Allen and wife Soon Yi, Mariska Hargitay, Robert Kennedy Jr. and Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels.
The reception was set to take place in NYU’s Kimmel Center.
In the days leading up to the nuptials, the bride took to Twitter to share her excitement. “Being a bride is stressful…. ayyyyyyy,” she Tweeted Tuesday.
And it seems the planning went on up until the big day. “If I buy one bride magazine, which should it be?” she Tweeted Wednesday. And on Friday, she thanked the exercise program Physique57 for “making me bride ready, physically and mentally!”
Baldwin, who began dating Thomas last summer, has said that she is “very important” to him.

Is it any secret that Alec Baldwin is full-on rage-monster full of anger, contempt, volatility, bile and RAAAAAAGE?!? Yeah. I think the cat?s out of the bag on that one, and even though Alec pretends that his yoga-instructor fiance helps ?calm him down,? The Rage Monster still lurks. The Rage Monster waits, patiently, for any opportunity to RAGE!!! And The Rage Monster came out this morning in NYC. Alec and Hilaria Thomas were in NYC getting a wedding license. When they came out of the office, Alec basically lost his mind and started going after a photographer for the New York Daily News. It?s the truth – look at the photos here. Here?s the NYDN report:
An enraged Alec Baldwin punched a Daily News photographer in the chin Tuesday morning for snapping his picture outside the city Marriage License Bureau. The volatile ?30 Rock? star popped lensman Marcus Santos once in the face outside the Worth St. office after apparently obtaining a license to wed fiancee Hilaria Thomas.
Santos was standing innocently with two other photographers when Baldwin, 54, approached with an angry glare.
?He was looking mad,? said Santos. ?He said, ?Step back, step back.? I said, ?We?re moving back.??
Baldwin then grabbed a second News photographer, Jefferson Siegel, and Santos told the ?Rock of Ages? star to back off.
?I said, ?Don?t touch him,?? the 42-year-old Santos said. ?I knew he was going to attack me. I stepped back, and he kept coming. ?He comes after me, starts shoving and punching me ? one time, right in the chin. And then he started shoving me, and pushing me. Then he goes the other way.?
Eyewitness Goran Veljic said Baldwin?s face filled with rage as he went after the shooters.
?He was like crazy, you know?? said freelancer Veljic, who takes photos outside the office every day. ?There was an eruption of mad. … You?re going to get a marriage license, you should be happy. What happened with this guy??
Baldwin, whose first marriage to Oscar-winning actress Kim Basinger ended in a contentious divorce, had seemingly found serenity with his younger yoga instructor. But his notorious nasty side surfaced on the otherwise happy occasion as Baldwin stormed away without saying a word. Thomas, 28, was not with Baldwin when the punch was thrown.

I think this is exactly what happened. Even if the NYDN didn?t have photographic evidence, I would be completely willing to believe that Alec Baldwin lost his sh-t on several photographers for literally no reason. But of course, Alec has a reason! Alec got on his Twitter account to tell his side of the story. Some of his tweets from today:

So Alec?s story is that a paparazzo ?almost hit him in the face with his camera?. Thus, RAGE MONSTER ATTACK!!! Yeah. Not buying it. Also, I think the ?if the offending paparazzi was wearing a hoodie and I shot him, it would all blow over? reference is in extremely poor taste. Alec Baldwin lost his s–t over a paparazzo, as he has done many, many times before. It wasn?t about race, or a slain child, or a community reeling from a devastating loss – it was about Alec being full of rage. Let?s take down the drama.
