It feels like Chris Pratt and Anna Faris separated years ago, doesn?t it? Is that just me? Like, they only announced their separation in August, about four months ago, but so much other sh-t has happened in that time that it really feels so long ago. Anyway, while their separation announcement wasn?t really a shock – they had reportedly been having significant problems for a few years – it was a big story over the summer. Pratt was a gentleman about the whole thing, and there really hasn?t been a whiff of scandal from his side this year. Anna is already dating someone else and Anna and Chris seem to be figuring out how to coparent their son already. So it?s not surprising that Chris has now filed for divorce:
Chris Pratt has filed for divorce from Anna Faris… TMZ has learned. Pratt filed legal docs Friday to end his 8-year marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. But it’s not necessarily what you think, because he and Anna carefully orchestrated the move. Anna filed her response to the divorce at exactly the same time and the 2 documents are mirror images of each other.
They are both asking for joint custody of 5-year-old Jack. They both reserve the right to get spousal support, but it’s unlikely either will ask for it. They list July 13 as the date of separation. They issued a statement on August 6 announcing their separation.
TMZ has learned they have a prenup. We’re told the property settlement agreement is almost completely worked out. Sources connected to Chris and Anna tell TMZ the divorce is “totally amicable.” Chris is repped by attorney Lauren Petkin and Anna is repped by Laura Wasser and Samantha Klein. Anna has clearly moved on … she’s been seriously dating cinematographer Michael Barrett for months.

I?m really happy for them that they?re getting this done with so little drama. They seem to be on the same page in every way, and the vibe I?m getting from both of them is ?relief tinged with sadness.? Like, they?re sad that they couldn?t make it work, but they?re both sort of relieved that they don?t have to keep up the facade of a happy marriage. They were somewhat miserable in the last year, so? yeah, good for them. I know we?re not supposed to root for divorce in any way, but sometimes getting a divorce is literally the best option for a couple?s relationship, their children and their mental health.

I?ve never really been a ride-or-die fan of Anna Faris and Chris Pratt as a couple. I?ve actually never been a true-blue fan of either separately. I?ve read some of Anna?s interviews where she seemed funny and ?real? and interesting, but mostly I just kind of find her sad these days. I think she was more famous than Pratt when they got married, and now he?s this big movie star and she?s supposed to play the Rita Wilson role, and I don?t think she?s comfortable with that. Plus, I believe some (but not all) of the rumors and blind items about them. I think Chris and Anna?s marriage isn?t all that. I think they love each other and they adore their son but they?re one of those couples which? I don?t know, I guess I just wouldn?t be surprised if they announced their split tomorrow, you know? Their vibe is not one of happiness, despite the happy-couple act they performed on the red carpet of the Passengers premiere.
Speaking of the premiere, Anna told E! News that Chris had already given her a Christmas present ? he upgraded her engagement ring. She told E!: ?He just got me this ring. I know. Like two days ago. I look [at it] and I’m like, ‘I can’t believe it either!’ He’s an incredibly romantic man and I’m very, very lucky.” Chris explained what Anna had gotten him for Christmas too: ?She got me a tractor, so we’re kind of even!” You can see a half-decent shot of her huge new ring in this video.
It?s beautiful. And huge. E! described it as a ?diamond,? but Anna doesn?t say that and I?m not so sure? Maybe it was just the light or the reflection off her dress, but it looks like a colored stone to me? It looks like a pale amethyst to me, but it could be a Pink diamond. But if Pratt bought her a Pink diamond that big, he probably shelled out mid-seven figures for it. And her original engagement ring was a decent size and cut too! Perfectly pretty. Of course, jewelry is always nice, and who would say no to a huge new sparkly ring? Chris and Anna sure want you to believe that they?re totally fine. But did her face say ?we?re totally fine? in that interview? Does Chris’s face say “we’re totally fine” in these photos?

Funny lady Anna Faris recently talked marriage and family with US Magazine, sharing tips on how to make a relationship successful. Judging by the fact that she and Chris Pratt have been happily married since 2009, I’m open to seeing what she has to say. I’ve been through two unsuccessful marriages, so any tips are welcome on my end.
When the family, including their adorable 3-year-old son Jack, gets together, Anna insists they’re just like us, telling the magazine, “We love to just do normal things, go to the aquarium. Go to the zoo. But mostly we just really cherish our time at home because lately it?s been tricky.” She added, “We spend a lot of time at home building fires and just cooking and just being together. Just enjoying the simple times too.”
Trying to keep things simple is a challenge for the couple, especially when it comes to Jack. Anna recently told HuffPost Live, “We want Jack to have as normal of a childhood [as possible].” The couple is concerned about their son having to deal with paparazzi and the notoriety that comes with being a celebrity kid. She said, “There’s going to be a day, sooner rather than later, where he’s going to understand that [the attention is] bizarre and he’ll probably have a lot of really complicated emotions about it. And, so, we’re just going to try to give him a ton of love. We’re really close with our families, so they’re around all the time. So I don’t know. We don’t know what we’re doing.”
One thing Anna knows is marriage, and here are her tips to make love last:
1. “Don’t tease, even if it seems harmless, because that can be a downward…that can be a rapidly increasing spiral, and then you?re actually teasing people and it really gets to a bad pattern.”
2. “Be kind and treat one another like you would to a friend. Truly be kind and supportive.”
3. “I think if you?re engaged and you have doubts, break off the engagement instead of getting married, even though it?s embarrassing.”
4. “Definitely go on a honeymoon right after the wedding. Don?t wait. Don?t put it off because it?s like the post-Christmas feeling. You need to have something to look forward to.”
5. “It?s OK to go to bed angry. I think men in particular sometimes just need time and they just need it and they won?t be able to be rational. And women too. I don?t mean to gender stereotype but they won?t be able to think rationally until their anger has dissipated.”

Yes, I know, no earth-shattering insights to be had, but I do like the fact that she says it’s alright to go to bed before resolving a conflict. I’m definitely a person who needs time to process things, and sometimes that takes a night or even two. And #3 hits very much close to home to young Corey, sitting in the limo in front of the church prior to wedding #1 completely knowing I was about to make a huge mistake. From what I can see, it appears that Anna and Chris are using and benefiting from these tips so more power to her.

I know the CB Family is divided on Chris Pratt but I adore his wife, Anna Faris. If I decide to move past indifference to dislike with Pratt, I will still love Anna – association be damned. Anna stars on the TV show Mom alongside Allison Janney (C.J. Cregg 4 President)! Anna and Pratt have an adorable three-year-old son, Jack. Jack?s premature birth scared his parents but fortunately he has flourished into a healthy, happy little boy.
On the Conan O?Brien show the other night, Anna was teasing about Jack being trained for the ?family business?, ?? because I need a backup plan. What if Mom gets cancelled or something like that? I gotta find a way to make money,?
Anna brought a clip of her directing Jack on technique and explained , ?(Jack) needs to learn how to anticipate without anticipating. It?s complicated.? Here is the clip:
Corey fell prey to Jack’s charms just last month. I don?t think it?s a secret that I might have popped out of line for a coffee when they were passing out hearts. This video of Jack Pratt almost brought the empty cavern in my chest to room temperature. This is like a baby sloth yawning kind of cute.

Anna Faris covers the April issue of Health magazine. She gives lots of quotes about food (loves it) and exercise (mostly hates it). I’m including excerpts where she talks about how Chris Pratt won’t let her cook fattening meals anymore. Chris previously acknowledged that Anna misses his chubby physique: “She likes me fat.” He understands, but he’s in the position where Marvel actually visited his home to check his weight. Chris also admitted to being an emotional eater and how he feels much better now that he’s fit. Anna gets it, but she still misses her giant teddy bear. I think they’re fine.
Anna discusses her acceptance of the paparazzi. She sees their presence as part of her job. She doesn’t mind when they follow her family and take photos. Anna talks about “some celebrities” being “so mean.” Is she shading celebs like Kristen Bell who have actively campaigned against the paps? I don’t know. Jennifer Garner and Halle Berry testified for the anti-pap bill, and Garner says the legislation made her kids’ lives easier. Paps CAN be obnoxious to kids – remember when one shouted insults at Suri Cruise? Awful.
There’s another side of the pap equation too. Celebrity photos are a huge industry that spawns a symbiotic relationship in many cases. Anna realizes this and doesn’t fight the tide:
On diet & exercise: “I do kind of have to watch it, but things are working in my favor right now. My job is so physical. I just don’t have time to sit down. I’ll get, like, a 15-minute break to eat a little bit, and then they’re like, ‘C’mon, we have to go!’ The other thing is that Chris is on a diet, which is helping me. I love to cook big, fattening meals. I make a really good roast chicken with homemade croutons that are fried and delicious. I used to be able to spend all day making a meal–drinking wine, cooking and watching television. Right now, I’m chasing Jack all day long. As he gets older, I’ll find it trickier to keep the weight off because we’ll start to sit down for meals. And Chris won’t let me cook those meals for him anymore. It’s just sad.”
She doesn’t mind paps: “I don’t know if my husband would necessarily agree, but most of them are pretty nice guys, just trying to make a living, and a lot of them are apologetic. I think some celebrities are so mean to them and resent them so much. I mostly feel scared just going out without makeup on. [Paparazzi] are a part of the job. Yesterday Chris and I took Jack to the train museum. There were paparazzi, but we were just like, ‘It’s an odd thing that’s happening, but let’s not stress or stress Jack out.’ At one point, Chris turned to me and said, ‘I don’t think I’ve ever been happier in my whole life.’ And I felt the same way.”
She’s not fussy with her appearance: “I would love to be in a place where somebody comes to my house and just, like, spray-tans me and does my roots. But I just don’t have the patience for it. I don’t want to spend my free time doing that stuff. Even with massage these days, I’m like, ‘Ugh.’ I like to unwind with some wine and movies, and spend time with Chris and Jack.”
Yoga is not for her: “I want to do yoga, which is so good for me, but when I have to be quiet, I just kind of go crazy. I put mental pressure on myself, like, ‘Am I supposed to be feeling something? My mind is not clear. My mind is not clear.’”
When she feels sexiest: “Probably at home with my husband. He makes me feel really beautiful even when I’m feeling disgusting. I’ll be in boxer shorts and a grubby T-shirt with greasy hair, and he’ll still be like, ‘Whoa, honey. Whoaaa.’”

Anna’s attitude towards paparazzi seems so laid back. I’m reminded of the time when Nicole Kidman bought beer for all the photogs on her wedding day to Keith Urban. It’s like, “I’m happy and don’t see the point of letting a flashing mob bring me down.” But I’m not saying some celebs don’t have the right to complain, especially when kids grow scared of shouting men with cameras.
I appreciate how Anna pays lip service to the unimportance of spray tans and constant root touchups. Raising a small child on top of a job swallows the day, and she’s prioritizing. Why doesn’t Anna just go with a darker shade of hair? Then she could skip the maintenance appointments.

Anna Faris covers the March issue Redbook to promote her sitcom, Mom. Have you seen the show? I surfed onto it by accident, watched an episode, and experienced some serious secondhand embarrassment. Some people must like it. The ratings are decent, and the show’s in its second season. I feel like Anna’s never had a role quite like Lost in Translation again, and she probably never will. But a sitcom is probably ideal for a working mom in Hollywood.
Anna covers a few topics in this interview. She speaks to the mommy brigade about her premature birth to son Jack in 2012. Anna also reveals her grumpiness during Chris Pratt’s Guardians diet extravaganza:
Her premature labor: “My water broke in the middle of the night at seven months. We rushed to the hospital, and they were able to halt active labor with magnesium. I was at the hospital and the goal was to be in bed for four weeks … but on the seventh day, I went into labor again. I was in denial. For hours I was like, ‘I?m just having indigestion.’ Chris and I were so scared, but then Jack came out, even though he was so tiny, he looked so good to us.”
On parenthood: “It?s one of those things that drives you apart or makes you closer. I think that being a father is very meaningful and rewarding to Chris. He?s a great dad. He?s a little more serious than he was before. It forces your hand. You really have to become an adult.”
On the legendary Pratt body transformation: “I just remember being grumpy because there was no food in the house. I love to cook really fattening things like steak and pasta and potatoes. I bake banana bread. But it?s okay. I love Chris ripped and I love him a little rounder, too.”
The working mom thing: “Motherhood is like a big sleeping bag of guilt.”

Are you tired yet of reading discussions about working motherhood guilt? I’m a little worn down on the topic, but I think most mothers feel guilty no matter what. Working inside and outside the home both require sacrifices. Anna probably gets to take Jack to work, which helps. She had to pull out the guilt discussion for Redbook because parenting discussions speak to their target audience. Fathers never get these questions, do they?
Anna did a press conference a few weeks ago where she called her husband a “thoroughbred.” I like Pratt, but that quote made me vom a little. Get a room, kids.

Taking a night away from their parental duties, Anna Faris and Chris Pratt headed over to the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the 72nd Annual Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills on Sunday (January 11).
The ?Guardians of the Galaxy? guy and his gorgeous ?House Bunny? wife (who wore a Reem Acra dress with a Judith Leiber clutch) were affectionate as they made the rounds before heading inside.
Once again, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are tag-teaming the hosting duties, following outstanding reviews over the past two years. And this time around the Cecil B. DeMille award will go to George Clooney. HFPA President Theo Kingma explained, ?It didn?t take us long to pick him. He is someone who?s made big contributions to both film and TV, and who is beloved by the industry. There is also the other George Clooney, a man who has used his platform to make us aware of places like Sudan. It?s an incredible combination.?

I always forget that the People?s Choice Awards are a CBS property, and that CBS uses the People?s Choice Awards to heavily promote their line-up. Usually, Kaley Cuoco hosts the People?s Choice because she?s on CBS?s golden-goose, Big Bang Theory. But this year, CBS got the stars of their new hit (?) show Mom, Allison Janney and Anna Faris to cohost the show. The result was awkward and awful. Ugh.
As for their fashion, they changed clothes a few times, but I only have IDs on the red carpet looks. Anna?s white dress is Rani Zakhem. Allison Janney?s silver dress is Rani Zakhem. A lot of people LOVED Allison?s Rani Zakhem. She really did pull it off well.
Other CBS properties? Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs from 2 Broke Girls. They presented together and posed together on the red carpet. That?s something nice: they seem to genuinely get along and love each other. Kat?s black gown was by Ludmila Corlateanu. Beth wore Juan Carlos Obando. Beth?s dress is fine. Boring, but fine. I think Kat?s whole look is kind of too dark.
Stana Katic won for Castle, obviously. I?ll admit it: Castle reruns are one of my guiltiest pleasures. That show is so easy to watch. Anyway, Stana wore a Carolina Herrera ball gown. Very pretty, although she seemed slightly overdressed for the People?s Choice Awards.
