Sienna Miller covers the October issue of British Vogue, and this cover is too gorgeous for words. Sienna’s one of those people who can always wear red lipstick and get away with it without looking garish. She was photographed by Mario Testino, and this is her sixth cover for the magazine. Not quite Kate Moss territory, but getting there and not too shabby for an actress that people seem to root against. Not that Sienna didn’t ask for it with that Balthazar Getty display of grossness, but that was years ago. She’s a different person now.
I’m not sure whether this cover was meant to promote the Black Mass supporting role that disappeared into the ether. She’s also starring in that weird Bradley Cooper movie, Burnt, where he plays an intense chef. (Of course he does, that’s the BCoop way.) Sienna uses this interview to talk about how exhausted she is while “running herself ragged” as a mom:
On motherhood: “Obviously when you have a baby it’s the most incredible experience but your life is also catapulted into this chaos and you are exhausted. I could literally get on this table and fall asleep. I’d like to be better at managing things; I’d like to be more super – although we’re never going to feel it, even if we are. That’s the curse of motherhood – we just run ourselves ragged. I’m just trying to get a sense of what that guilt is. I sometimes feel like it’s a totally invented emotion. It’s strange to be punishing ourselves this way. It’s not healthy.”
Her own mom and sister: “I’m really close to them, they are hugely important and influential women in my life, but of course we drive each other nuts as well!”
She’s too busy to shop: “I don’t remember the last time I went shopping. I swear to God, I wear jeans and trainers and a T-shirt most days.”

There’s a question of whether Sienna’s using motherhood to soften up her image, but I don’t see the point in that complaint. She is a mother, and now she’s a mother who will be dividing time with a father (Tom Sturridge). That makes things even tougher, time and energy wise, although I don’t think she and Tom spent much time together in the past year at all. Anyway, I will always root for Sienna. She’s a bloody mess and her own worst enemy at times, but she reminds me of the Rayanne Graff character from My So-Called Life. Hey, the real-life Rayanne, A.J. Langer, is now a countess, so there’s hope for everyone. I hope Sienna ends up getting some sleep because motherhood (working or stay-at-home) is a serious drainer.

On Wednesday, we learned that Sienna Miller and Tom Sturridge are pretty much over. They never married, but they did get engaged years ago, when Sienna was pregnant with Marlowe. Sienna and Tom got pregnant less than a year into their relationship and the feeling I always got ? for better or for worse ? was that Sienna really did stick with Tom mostly because of Marlowe. Sienna has always seemed to me like a woman with a short attention span with men and relationships, and I?m guessing this four-year thing with Tom will be her longest relationship for the next decade.
Following The Sun and The Daily Mail?s claims of Tom and Sienna?s split, most sites carried ?confirmations? from sources (not reps), but even People Magazine said the split was done. People Mag is hedging their bets though, saying that a reconciliation could be in the works. Yeah right. They also say that Sienna was the one who didn?t want to get married.
Sienna Miller and longtime boyfriend Tom Sturridge have called it quits after four years together, though it may not be a definitive end, a source tells PEOPLE.
“They are over, but don’t rule out a reunion,” says the source, who knows the couple’s circle. “Tom wanted to get married and have more children. Sienna didn’t. This year everything exploded with Tom in London and Sienna leading a separate life in the U.S. and [her appearance at] Cannes,” where the actress was busy in May with the high-profile role as a Cannes Film Festival jury member.
The Sea of Trees actress has been spotted not wearing her ring recently and attended this year’s festival in France alone. The couple, who began dating in 2011, share a 3-year-old daughter, Marlowe Ottoline. They were reportedly engaged in 2012, although neither of the Brits ever confirmed.

Sienna fell in love with Tom, they had a baby, Sienna spent a few years remaking her image and creating a narrative of ?the wild child tamed by motherhood fulfills her early promise as an actress? and by the time the narrative had taken hold, Sienna was pretty much over Tom. Here are some random fashion photos from the Cannes Film Festival this weekend. These are photos from the multiple premieres, including the premieres of Mia Madre, Sea of Trees and more. Let?s start with Sienna Miller ? Sienna is a judge this year, and many of us were expecting Sienna to fulfill the ?fashion girl? requirement that the Cannes judges panel seems to have every year. So far, Sienna has been a big disappointment, no moreso in this absolutely awful Valentino gown. I guess it?s supposed to look like a kite? But it just looks like cheap patchwork. Sienna?s styling has been pretty bad too.
Li Bingbing is my favorite of this group. She wore this Zuhair Murad Couture Spring 2015 gown which is absolutely perfect for Cannes. It?s big, it?s pretty, it?s beautifully tailored and she looks great in it. Yay!
Noomi Rapace in a rather striking gown (ID unknown). She?s part of the jury for Un Certain Regard and she was just announced as the lead in a Maria Callas bio-pic, which is an excellent choice. Yay for Noomi!
Sonam Kapoor in Ralph & Russo Couture ? eh. Blue is my favorite color but I have an aversion to these shades of electric blue. They look cheap to me. The design is major drama though and it looks like fun.
Natalie Portman in Christian Dior. Dior is doing twee ikat prints now? I think this was a bad choice for Natalie, but she?s been making some really awful fashion calls lately.
Natasha Poly in custom Michael Kors? Kors has been doing a lot of ?70s inspired stuff and if I?m being honest, I could see how it would be cool to have a liquid gold caftan or something. But this is trying too hard to be a modernized ?70s vision. It should have been longer.
Jane Fonda in Atelier Versace. Same kind of questionable blue as Sonam Kapoor. Imagine how great this would have been in a pale blue.
Andie MacDowell in a Ralph & Russo Spring 2015 Couture wedding gown. I don?t get it? Why come to Cannes if you?re just going to wear a wedding gown?

Full confession: I only really like big dogs. I?ve never had a small dog and never really wanted to. My dog is a big Newfie mix, more than 100 pounds, and he resembles a bear cub. He?s a pain in my ass but I love him to pieces. So I was interested in hearing that Sienna Miller got a Newfie girl puppy a few years ago. She named the dog Nana and she was adorable as a puppy. Nana grew up to be a big hulk of a dog (go here to see a photo of Sienna with Nana), which is what happens when you get a Newfie puppy. But this growth apparently shocked Sienna, and she has given the dog up. Huh.
It was clearly difficult for Sienna Miller to resist Newfoundland puppy Nana when she was a tiny black bundle. But it seems the American Sniper actress failed to factor in the breed’s astonishing growth rate ? they can weigh up to 9st and measure 6ft from nose to tail.
Now three years after bringing Nana home, the dog has been adopted by Sienna’s stepmother Kelly Hoppen, who owns a sprawling estate in the Cotswolds.
It’s a sensible move ? Sienna, who has a two-year-old daughter, Marlowe, and another dog, Bess ? previously admitted that on walks Nana ‘pulls me over flat on my face into the mud’.

One side: she?s a total douchebag for not understanding that one day that adorable Newfie puppy would end up as a huge dog. I hate people who don?t understand the basics of dogs, or are like ?Oh, I only wanted a small puppy, not a big dog.? Then don?t adopt a Newfie puppy!
The other side: my Newfie mix had a few years where he was bit crazy and temperamental and every dog is different. I could see where it could be a case of hoping Nana would be a gentle giant and Nana ending up being much more of a handful than expected. And Sienna prioritized her daughter ahead of Nana and found Nana a good home in the country, where she could run and be wild all the time.

Sienna Miller‘s big return to Hollywood landed on the Oscar red carpet last night. This could have been a stunning moment, but I feel like she played it too cautious. It’s hard to blame her for being gunshy given her past life as a messy starlet. Sienna opted for a midnight blue Oscar de la Renta dress with embroidery detail and black, belted bows. This isn’t a bad dress, but it doesn’t scream Academy Awards. This is a dress one wears when they want to go unnoticed. It worked. Sienna even downplayed her hair and makeup. Her trademark messy bob could have made for an interesting contrast, but no.
Here’s some bonus Tom Sturridge and Robert Pattinson at the Vanity Fair party. Sparkles looks dapper. Is Tom’s fly coming undone?
Chris Pratt and Anna Faris did their adorable couple dance together. Anna wore a Zuhair Murad couture gown that was fully encrusted in all manner of beads, sequins, and flotsam. I remain amazed at how Anna can choose gowns from any given designer and still look the same. She loves white and beige.
Channing Tatum walked the red carpet with wife Jenna Dewan. Jenna dressed it up in this Zuhair Murad with suprisingly few embellishments, which was nice. The runway version included a dramatic cape that would have been overkill as a +1 on the red carpet.
Zendaya Coleman wore a white satin Vivienne Westwood number. Z’s got a funky and youthful style, and this dress looks very cute on her, but the dreads look so heavy!

She's been riding high as of late thanks to her latest film's box office heroics, so it's no surprise that Sienna Miller was among the smiling stars on hand at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday night (February 22).
Decked out in a lovely Oscar de la Renta dress, the 33-year-old big screen beauty wowed the fans and photogs lining the red carpet ahead of the 87th Annual Academy Awards.
With her hit movie "American Sniper" being among the Best Picture hopefuls, Miss Miller is also one of the many star-studded presenters at Hollywood's biggest awards spectacle, which is being hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.
Set to be a brief stay in Tinseltown, Sienna told press a few days prior to the show, "Luckily my costar in the movie [Bradley Cooper] is also on Broadway, so we're being flown after our prospective shows on Saturday night. We're not getting a lot of time to go to anything beyond the actual awards, but it'll be great."

Here are some photos of Sienna Miller out in NYC a few days ago to promote American Sniper. Her outfit is Altuzarra (a bodysuit fashioned as a crisp blouse and a wrap skirt) and looks timeless. Sienna’s been hustling hard for this project. I admire her gusto as a supporting player. She’s simply thrilled to be working in movies that people want to watch. In a new interview with Variety, Sienna talks about how motherhood made her realize that she doesn’t always need to be the center of attention. This is part of her relatable motherly persona, and I think it’s working some slow magic. She’s had media training — which is smart — so as not to disrupt her slew of upcoming roles (including Ben Affleck’s Life by Night) by saying something rude or vacant. She almost succeeds here:
Clint Eastwood’s directing style: “He does it his own way. But for me, I found him to be really attentive. I felt very directed throughout this whole film. He?s literally sitting by the camera and he?s looking at you, and he doesn?t take his eye off you. I remember before an emotional scene, he came up and put his hand on my back and he just whispered in my ear the death toll in Iraq on the day we?re shooting. It was an amazing piece of direction, because it grounds you.”
Motherhood changed her: “I feel like my life is in two chapters. There?s the pre-baby and post-baby. I love my job so much, but I didn?t think very laterally about the implications of working with filmmakers. After having my daughter and re-evaluating my priorities, I realized I really want to work with amazing filmmakers and had a strong sense of the films I want to watch and try to be in. And also, letting go of any attachment to the size of the role. I genuinely don’t need to be the lead. I don?t need to carry something.”
On her needed hiatus: “Yes, I did. I?d been, not by choice, dissected by the media and exposed and all the things that really make it hard to be a good actor, or to be seen as characters, to disappear into something. And I always had strong and pure intentions. But it was just being swallowed up by this tabloid animal.”
There are different standards for men & women in Hollywood … “And in the whole world.”
On the pressures against 20-something actresses: “It’s completely sexist. It?s completely imbalanced. It?s insane. I had an experience with the New York Times, where my ex-boyfriend Jude was doing a play on Broadway. They did a profile on him, and during the article referred to the fact that he had a relationship with me. The following week, the same newspaper did an article on me and referred to Jude as ‘a fling.’ As if I was promiscuous, and all the connotations that come with that word. That?s sexism in the upper echelon of journalism. Don?t get me started. Even Channing [Tatum] says with his past of being a dancer, if that was a woman, it would be really hard to come back from that. Dancer? I mean, stripper!”
Her Cabaret role: “It’s Birdman‘s fault. I’ve got the sudden urge to be back in the theater.”
On G.I. Joe: “Ergh! It was an odd movie for me to be in.”

Hmm. I do buy that Sienna is a changed person. She’s less selfish and less of a train wreck than she once was. She makes some strong points about how women are treated differently than men, not only in Hollywood but “in the whole world.” Yep.
Anyway. Sienna’s tabloid run was brutal. Jude Law was (is?) a scoundrel when it came to romance, but Sienna was viewed as the promiscuous one. Jude cheated on her (with the nanny), and everyone knew it, but Sienna was treated like she did something wrong. Of course … she cheated on Jude too (with Daniel Craig!), but we only found out about that last year. Even in hindsight, she was treated worse than Jude by the media. Even with the whole Balthazar Getty mess, Sienna received the brunt of that scandal too.
But. For Sienna to declare, “I always had strong and pure intentions“? Guuurrrl.

Stepping out for some promotional duties, Sienna Miller showed up at ?The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon? in New York City on Tuesday (January 13).
The ?Hippie Hippie Shake? starlet was in fine form as she strolled out onto the stage in a fabulous striped knit dress from Celine, along with her short and sassy blonde coif.
And while she was in the house to plug her new film ?American Sniper,? Sienna ended up flashing back to her ?Factory Girl? film days with Fallon.
Ms. Miller brought along some photographs from the flick, featuring Fallon?s awkwardly-dyed blonde hair and the two exchanged stories from the project.

Here are some photos of Sienna Miller in NYC the day after the Golden Globes. That was quick, right? She must have ditched the Miu Miu dress, caught a red-eye flight, and skipped the parties … which is quite unlike the Sienna we used to know. Perhaps she’s in New York to study up for the Cabaret role. Has anyone seen Tom Sturridge lately? I’m not suggesting there are problems. He’s been absent from pap photos lately, that’s all.
American Sniper goes into wide release this weekend. Sienna’s hustling for her project, as she should. She’s also hustling for herself, as she should. Sienna’s been pushing the motherhood transformation, which is a valuable tool in Hollywood. People have forgotten all about Sienna’s love affairs with Balthazar Getty, Rhys Ifans, Daniel Craig, and Jude Law. I’m not shading her! Hollywood is all about different levels and shades of PR, and Sienna is playing the game well. Now she’s getting real with her tale of protracted childbirth. Some excerpts:
A rough childbirth: “My birth went all wrong. I had my heart set on this natural water birth and I ended up, after 27 hours, having an emergency C-section.”
Motherhood is “really complicated”: “I spent so much time thinking about the birth and not realizing that you take a baby home at the end of it. It’s a shock, of course it is, and some people find it really easy, but for me I found it really hard.”
Identifiying with her Sniper character: “I think being a mother and playing a mother, yes, I understand motherhood in a way I just couldn’t before. I had a huge amount of empathy for Taya. To be going through motherhood on her own, not knowing whether her husband would survive every day, I can’t imagine how difficult that would be. Especially because that experience of motherhood for me was really complicated.”

27 hours? Ouch. I googled the average length of a first childbirth and landed on 6-12 hours as a result. 27 hours seems ungodly. I’m thinking back to how long my experience lasted, but I was in denial until the final few hours. 10 hours, maybe? Everyone is different.
Sienna does well in this interview. She touches on the common experience of childbirth and swiftly moves onto her military wife character. That’s smart, considering the movie’s target audience. Kyla Kyle had a rough time with her husband’s struggle abroad, but that’s not all. Sienna’s role isn’t a stereotypical “wife” role, and she has Clint Eastwood’s endorsement. She’s making all the right moves right now. Good for her.
