While some women dread getting older, Nicole Richie seemed to be taking her 30th birthday in stride yesterday (September 21) in Beverly Hills.
The fabulous fashion designer had lunch at Cecconi?s with some gal pals, sporting a gorgeous yellow dress and carrying a bag of Mrs. Fields Cookies.
Later on, Nicole gathered her friends at a swanky Regent Beverly Wilshire suite for an upscale black-and-white shindig.
Richie tweeted, "I can't believe the outpour of birthday love I am getting on twitter today! From the bottom of my heart (& the top), THANK YOU SO MUCH!"

Fitting in a workout ahead of her weekend, Nicole Richie was spotted leaving the gym in Los Angeles, CA on Friday (August 19).
The House of Harlow designer looked cute in workout gear as she made her way to the car paying very little attention to the on-hand photogs.
Earlier in the week, Richie enjoyed a night out with her gal pals as they took in a show at a local theater.
In career news, Nicole?s brand new series called ?Fashion Star? is set to air on NBC this fall.

Enjoying a night out with her gal pals, Nicole Richie hit up a Los Angeles, California movie theater on Sunday evening (August 14).
The always-stylish "Simple Life" alum opted for a layered look for her BFF date, wearing a blue beanie, black and white scarf, over-sized sweater and black leggings as she headed out for the all-female excursion.
Meanwhile, the set of Nicole's new reality TV show, "Fashion Star," is apparently heating up - however, not because of the competition, but rather the friction between she and fellow mentor Jessica Simpson.
According to an insider, the two just can't see eye to eye, and often make low-blow jabs at each other, as they explained, ?Producers thought pairing them on screen would mean lots of fireworks to attract viewers, but their personalities don?t mesh at all. Behind the scenes, the set is a war zone.?
?Nicole has made a few digs about Jessica ?throwing her weight around,? while Jessica has joked that someone would have to be on a starvation diet to wear Nicole?s designs,? the source told press, before adding, "Now they?re barely talking, which doesn?t bode well for the show?s success ? and it isn?t even on the air yet!?

Stepping out for a birthday soiree, Nicole Richie and her children were spotted arriving at a friend?s home in Beverly Hills, CA on Wednesday (August 3).
With the help of a nanny, the fashion designer - along with Harlow and Sparrow a headed inside for the birthday festivities, paying little attention to the prying paparazzi.
In other news, Richie and fellow fashionista Jessica Simpson recently started taping an upcoming NBC reality series, ?Fashion Star? and seem to be getting along quite well -- "like old friends," according to a source.
The show also features John Varvatos and host Elle Macpherson, to which executive producer, Ben Silverman, told press, "Jessica, Nicole, John and Elle make the most exciting team we have ever worked with on a reality television show and we are thrilled to feature such an extraordinary group of mentors and designers."

Hanging with friends for the holiday, Nicole Richie celebrated the Fourth of July by hitting the beach for a Malibu fireworks show (July 4).
The "Simple Life" star was in good company for her Independence Day fun, as hubby Joel Madden, his brother Benji, and Lindsay Lohan's ex Sam Ronson were also on-hand for the celebratory fete.
Meanwhile, Nicole has just unveiled a 14-piece, 70's inspired handbag collection for her super-successful House of Harlow 1960 line.
The socialite-turned-fashion-designer says that while the line is modest - it's not the quantity but rather the quality that counts, telling press, "The collection is quite small in terms of the styles we are launching with. I wanted to make sure that each piece is special and then be able to grow it slowly and organically.

Treating herself to a pampering session, Nicole Richie was spotted at a hair salon in West Hollywood yesterday afternoon (June 28).
The ?Simple Life? lady was joined by a male friend as she exited the establishment, sporting a black hat, black tank top, and vintage jeans.
Nicole recently announced that her lifestyle collection House of Harlow 1960 will get a new addition this fall - purses!
She explained, ?Handbags have always been a part of the equation since we first launched the House of Harlow 1960 brand. We just needed to make sure all of the components were aligned before setting foot into that category. The collection is quite small in terms of the styles we are launching with. I wanted to make sure that each piece is special and then be able to grow it slowly and organically season after season.?
?When I design, I always try to design pieces that are universal, meaning anyone can wear and carry it. At this stage of my design process, I really try to gather direct feedback from my customers, whether through in-store personal appearances, my Web site, Twitter or Facebook. It really helps me when they provide me with their desires, feedback and comments on what they are looking for, so I can try my best to cater to their needs, yet stay true to the brand?s identity.?

Kicking off the week with an enjoyable outing, Nicole Richie was spotted in West Hollywood yesterday afternoon.
The ?Simple Life? starlet was joined by her husband Joel Madden, his brother Benji Madden, and their kids Harlow and Sparrow.
After having lunch at a local restaurant, the Madden/Richie family parted ways to take care of their own errands.
Nicole and Benji took Sparrow to do some shopping, while proud papa Joel carried Harlow back to his car and headed off.

This is just too cute. Just hours before Britney Spears was due to perform in LA with her Femme Fatale tour, Nicole Richie was hanging out with her friends, and somebody said something about a Britney-style dance-off. Nicole went head-to-head, move-for-move with a male friend (he seems like a hairstylist type) to Britney?s ?Slave 4 U?. The dance-off was recorded, and Nicole tweeted the video with the message: “In honor of my queen, @BritneySpears - Can’t wait to dance tonight!” Be careful - the sound is really loud on this video!
This is adorable! And Nicole does have some moves! She looks like she practices! I can see her acting all innocent, ?Dance off? Well, I don?t know?? and then BAM, she pulls out her old-school Britney moves (which Britney won?t do anymore).
Sigh? this made me nostalgic. This is SO wonderfully girly.
