I’ve never been a huge fan ofLea Michele. Personally, I think she’s kind of annoying, in a theater school kid kind of way. Also, I’m not sure if she still technically qualifies as famous now that Glee‘s been off the air for a couple years. But she did post a bunch of pictures of herself […]

I find absolutely nothing sexy about Lea Michele. I don’t get it. Is her head to big for her body? I just can’t figure it out.

| Lea Michele in David Koma at the Billboard Music Awards: fug or fine? | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The fact that Lea Michele is the headliner for this post tells you all you need to know about the turnout for the Billboard Music Awards, which I DVRed but didn’t bother to watch. Kaiser took one for the team and watched the first hour, which is surely longer than it took most people to tune out. Lea Michele was there because she’s aiming for a music career too of course, and she was in this black David Koma dress with see-through diagonal panels and what look like granny panties underneath. Something nice: this is Lea Michele, it could have been worse, and I like the double neckline that’s unique. The rest of the look is not working for me, her earrings are fug, the dress is not cute and I really dislike her topknot. At least she wore this to the Billboard Music Awards though, where it looks… fitting I’ll say.
Here’s Hailee Steinfeld, also an actress working on a music career, although I would say she’s a more accomplished actress after seeing her in The Edge of Seventeen, which I loved. Her metallic David Koma dress has a similar concept to Lea’s in that it has patterned see-through panels and large undergarments underneath. I like it slightly more and find it a little more contemporary, but a lot of that may be due to the wearer rather than the specific look. Those giant silver shapes look like ghosts or amoebas or something.
If you thought Lea and Hailee’s dresses were fug, wait until you get a load of Rita Ora. She was wearing Francesco Sconamiglio, whom I’ve never heard of before and for good reason. The top is bedazzled Dynasty and the bottom is Frederick’s of Hollywood. I’ll spare you the back view but she’s wearing a very high thong under there. Only Rita Ora could wear this and have that expression.
Camila Cabello wore a red lace and beaded Jonathan Simkhai gown with a matching wrap. I would say this is a very one note dress but compared to the other looks here it’s not bad. She looks like Selena Gomez a little, right?
And Halsey was in Sergio Hudson & Juun.J. This is basically a fancy bra with a skirt designed to look like a trench coat and she paired it with very extreme gladiator sandals. She’s working this somewhat and I like that she wore big hoop earrings that match the rings in her bra. Maybe the top would work better if she had on a little white t-shirt though, the bra part feels like overkill and draws your attention away from all the other stuff that’s happening with the outfit.

| Lea Michele: 'I?ve never eaten fast food. I do not drink soda. I don't eat candy' | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Lea Michele has a new interview with E! and she’s promoting her upcoming second album, Places, which is out this week. I just listened to the first single, “Love is Alive,” and it’s so syrupy yet serious. I’m not a fan. E! has a video of their talk with Lea up on their site and it’s interesting to see how quickly she talks and to hear her voice. She repeats a claim that she’s made before in which she says she works out to eat whatever she wants and that she doesn’t limit herself, however she then says that does not include any fast food or candy.
“I love working out. I work out to feel good but also so I can eat whatever I want,” she admits. “I want to be able to enjoy myself. I’m Italian. I like to eat big meals. I love red wine. And you know also when you’re traveling and stuff like that I like trying new restaurants and going on adventures, so I can’t limit myself.”
Like any healthy lifestyle, however, Lea has foods she tries to avoid. “I’m good in the sense that I’ve never eaten fast food. I do not drink soda. I don’t eat candy,” she shares. “Like my house is healthy, so when I’m saying I’m eating a lot it’s like good food that’s worth it.”
In addition to feeling her best, Lea shares she’s also living her best. “I feel like I’m in such an incredible place in my life right now, and there’s definitely those personal songs on the album and especially my concerts,” she says of her music. “I break down the songs and I tell everyone what they’re about, so that’s where I get really personal and that’s where I open up.”
She continues, “I try to keep my life as private as I can, but my music is where I really open up, and maybe we’ll Taylor Swift a few people left and right.”
[From E! Online]
I don’t see how it’s eating whatever you want if you don’t eat fast food or candy. I surely have a sugar addiction but candy is the best. Also a little fast food won’t derail your diet if you eat less calories than you burn. She’s never had it ever? Lea sounds like one of those people who has a lot of rules around food but still think they’re letting loose because they eat full-ish meals. One of my favorite youtube trainers, Jessica Smith, recently published a balanced article against food moralizing. It really captured my approach to eating. Smith writes “To me, terms like ?clean eating? or ?cheat days? imply that there are good and bad foods or right or wrong ways to eat. Personally, I don?t subscribe to any specific method or way of eating. I just like to eat.” She also adds that it’s a personal decision, which is of course true, and that she ascribes to moderation. This is just common sense to me but so many people think there are “forbidden” foods. When celebrities say things like “I eat healthy, I don’t keep any junk in the house,” it puts a value on certain foods as good or better than others. There’s some truth to that, some foods are more nutrient dense, but I don’t think any foods should be off limits unless you’re limiting them due to allergies or personal philosophy.
Kudos to Lea for using “Taylor Swift” as a verb though.

The Warner Brothers and InStyle magazine Golden Globes after party at the Beverly Hills Hilton saw Scream Queens star Lea Michele bucking this year’s plunging neckline trend with a demure, long-sleeved gown. The simple, form-fitting iridescent purple gown featured a crew neckline. The 30-year-old actress accessorized with a purple, snakeskin box clutch and silver straapy stilettos by Charlotte Olympia. Although the neckline screamed for some bling (at least on my opionon), Lea’s only sparkle came from a ring on her finger. I want to have an opinion on this gown, but I don’t. It’s simply alright. The color, although unique, doesn’t work with her coloring and it doesn’t look like it “walks well,” bunching up at the bottom. Maybe the bottom hem should be just a teeny bit shorter, hmm?

I do like the makeup though, but I’m a sucker for that mauve-esque lip shade. Lea liked her dress, as it showed off what she called her “Bronx booty” on a tweet from Sunday night’s festivities.

| Lea Michele's workout motivation is food, eating 'whatever I want' | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Lea Michele did a brief interview with People Magazine about one of her favorite topics, diet and exercise. If there’s one thing I like about Lea, it’s the fact that she has high self esteem and she’ll tell you about it. She’s not faux humble or trying to act like she’s not hot sh*t. Lea was asked by People for her motivation for working out and instead of saying she loves it or it’s fun she said she does it so she can eat whatever she wants, which I guess is what works for her. She thinks of her favorite restaurant and getting a nice meal afterwards.
On what she tells herself to stay motivated to workout
?Knowing that I can eat whatever I want afterward always makes me feel good!? she tells PEOPLE at the AeriREAL pop-up shop in New York on Thursday. ?I need a goal at the end of anything that I do.?
When pushing through a workout, Michele reminds herself that ?at the end, there?s this great place that I?m going to get the most delicious salad or sushi!?
In addition to post-workout meal motivation, she also relies on her pals: ?I work out with friends often and I hate bailing on my friends,? she says. ?If I make a plan, I don?t like to cancel it, so I always work out with a buddy and it helps me to be accountable,? adding, ?You just feel so good after you work out.?
She complements her fitness routine with a healthy diet.
?I just did vegan for the past four weeks,? she shares. ?And I did an amazing cleanse, the Beaming cleanse. That?s my new favorite.?
[From People]
Did anyone else catch that little plug at the end for a specific brand of cleanses? Here’s another celebrity who is touting cleanses, probably as some kind of endorsement deal. That’s a shame because we don’t need to “cleanse” our bodies to lose weight. As for what she said about working out – Shape points out that working out to “earn” food can be a symptom of exercise bulimia. I don’t know if that’s something Lea should be concerned about or if she just was trying to come up with an answer on the fly, but again she doesn’t seem to have a problem with being candid with the press. I like what she said about how it makes you feel good, and personally I work out because I enjoy it. It’s intrinsically motivating, to use a fancy word, and I consider it like a treat for myself. Plus I do workouts which are fun for me. I don’t get it when people say they hate working out. If you don’t like what you’re doing as exercise, try to find something you enjoy. There are so many options you can do from home too.
New workout obsession! @bodybysimone ?? with this babe @caraasantana ??

Personally, I’ve always thought that the less clothing Lea Michele wears, the better she looks. So as far as I’m concerned, she’s not looking half bad here on the cover of Shape Magazine‘s November issue. Although she could definitely be looking a lot better. We’re talking 2-3 layers better. Oh well. Maybe next time.

Lea Michele covers the “special wellness issue” of People Magazine, which is probably geared to all of us who want to shape up for the holidays now that the summer is over. The photo they chose of her for the cover looks a bit manic, but I guess that’s what passes for happy with a lot of people. Lea says some decent, if bland things about being in shape, moving more and honoring her body. She used to be a vegan, a diet she followed starting around 2010, when she lost a significant amount of weight while filming Glee, but she’s since re-added meat into her diet. Lea also isn’t humble when it comes to her body image, which I guess is refreshing considering that she could put herself down and say a bunch of things about how self conscious she is when that just isn’t true. At least she’s honest.
On gaining weight when she first did Glee
I had more time in my trailer, more time in my car, and less time walking around. That?s when I realized how important it was for me, personally, to include activities and movement in my daily life.
She?s very fit now
[I'm in] the best place I?ve ever been. If I can do it, an Italian girl from the Bronx? Are you kidding me? Anybody can do it.
She got in shape on the broadway show Spring Awakening in 2006
[Jonathan Groff and I] would even do bikram yoga in between shows sometimes. That?s when I realized ?Oh, I?m actually kind of good at this.? We?d rock it out on stage during the day, then go to class together, and it really built my confidence. My workouts have to be good for my soul as well. If my brain can?t get relaxed at the same time, then it?s not for me.
On getting through dark moments, like Cory Monteith?s death
You always have to have faith, because life is going to throw things at you. You have to trust that there is a plan. I really pride myself on the people I surround myself with and how I take care of myself, so my ground is table beneath me.
Her diet involves some meat and being persistent
[She eats meat] as long as it?s coming from good places. The best lesson I?ve ever learned is, Who cares if people [servers] think you?re annoying? Tell them to use less salt. Tell them to use less butter. The worse they can do is say no.
On wellness
It?s so important to do things for yourself – because the better you are, the better you can be for the people in your life. It?s so important for me to stress that being healthy is not about being a gym rat. It?s not about being 90 lbs. This is really how I live every single day.
[From People Magazine, Wellness issue, print edition]
That’s a dangerous attitude to have “if I can do it anyone can.” People are in different places in their lives, under all sorts of situations, and it sounds so elitist to either think that everyone has your advantages, or that your disadvantages were so extreme that your particular accomplishments can be achieved by anyone. Plus not everyone has the same goals, but this is Lea Michele she’s not really in touch with the rest of the world. I guess that’s the lesson of wellness though, put yourself and your needs first. (Not that wellness is selfish, just that it involves prioritizing yourself.) Lea likely never had an issue with that.
My favorite BTS shot from my @people mag shoot! ?
