Russia's assault on gay rights has touched many lives in and out of the country, but in a surprising move, Selena Gomez has been denied her request for a visa.
Reportedly because of her support for LGTB rights, the "Come and Get It" singer's scheduled dates were forced to be cancelled.
On September 23rd, she was slated to perform in St. Petersburg, followed by a September 25th concert in Moscow.
According to The Moscow Times, authorities are tightening access after Madonna and Lady Gaga's fight against the country's law banning the promotion of "nontraditional sexual relationships."

Looking radiant on stage, Selena Gomez lit up the Palacio Vistalegre in Madrid, Spain on her Stars Dance World Tour on Thursday (September 12).
The "Come and Get It" singer was dress in a crisp white top, matching shorts, and black boots as she sang her heart out for the Spanish audience.
For fans in the States who are missing the 20-year-old star, her new clothing line just hit KMart stores for the fall season.
Linking the ad, Selena tweeted, "My Fall Dream Out Loud collection has arrived! Check out the commercial :)."

Excited to show off their latest work, Selena Gomez and Ethan Hawke were on hand for the California premiere of "Getaway" on Monday night (August 26).
Looking red carpet ready for Regency Village Theatre event, the "Come and Get It" songstress rocked a structured pattern dress while her hunky co-star kept it classy in a perfectly fitted suit.
The action-packed film follows Brent Magna (Hawke) who must get behind the wheel and follow the orders of a mysterious man to save his kidnapped wife.
Directed by Courtney Solomon, "Getaway" races into theaters on August 30th!

Continuing her Stars Dance world tour, Selena Gomez performed for a frenzied crowd at the Air Canada Center in Toronto on Saturday (August 24).
Donning a midriff baring white, embellished top and white bell bottomed pants, the 21-year-old songstress powered through all her hits, including "Band, Bang, Bang" and "Come & Get It."
Though she has enjoyed great success in the music industry, the "Spring Breakers" cutie is looking to take a break from making records to focus on acting.
At a press conference last week, Ms. Gomez told reporters "This is my last record for a while. I'm going to tour it and then I'm going to just kind of get into acting for a really long period of time, hopefully."
