E! reports that the relationship between Minka Kelly and Derek Jeter fizzled out when Minka started becoming more famous. Derek loves obscure nobodies hence why he loved Minka during the Friday Night Lights era because no one watched the show making her relatively unknown.
When her career started to take off with The Roommate and now Charlie’s Angels, that’s when Derek lost interest. He just didn’t want the attention.
I know how Derek Jeter feels. That’s exactly why I dumped Scarlett Johansson and Megan Fox. They started getting too popular. This playboy millionaire likes to keep under the radar. Modesty and chiseled abs are two of my best qualities.

Kicking off another work day, Minka Kelly was spotted on the set of her brand new ABC television program ?Charlie?s Angels? yesterday (August 30).
The ?Friday Night Lights? babe looked to be in good spirits as she filmed scenes with her co-stars Annie Ilonzeh and Rachel Taylor.
And it sounds like Minka just got a hunky new addition to her show- Isaiah Mustafa (Old Spice guy) will play Ray Goodson, a Miami PD detective.
Given her recent breakup with Derek Jeter, it?s good that Ms. Kelly has such a positive career to help distract her from feeling down.

It came as quite a shock when the news of their breakup went public, and now one report claims that Minka Kelly's skyrocketing career is to blame for the rift between her and ex Derek Jeter.
According to E! Online, a source close to the "Charlie's Angels" actress cites Minka's recent success for putting too much of the spotlight on the pair, as the insider explained, "They kept their relationship very, very quiet?there are no rumors of cheating, nothing. And Minka is handling this the way she handles everything, she's a down-to-earth, real person, a sweetheart, and this took her by surprise."
The source added, "This is Derek's doing for the most part. If you look back at his relationships, as some of the girls started to rise in fame, that's when they broke up. Vanessa Minnillo, Lara Dutta, they all start out with sexy photo shoots and then all of a sudden they blow up and it starts going awry. He has a history of it, and he's just repeating it with Minka."
Looking to have been the final straw, the pitfalls of stardom seemed to lay too heavy of a burden on the twosome, as the insider told, "There's a lot of pressure on both of them right now. He's the Yankees captain, everything lies on his shoulders. Minka's feeling a lot of pressure with Charlie's Angels. As both started to feel the pressure of their jobs, the relationship just came second."

Hallelujah! Last we heard from Minka Kelly and Derek Jeter, they were getting married on November 5 in a castle. Now reps for the two have confirmed that they have split.
A source says, “The split was amicable. But they remain friends. They still really care for each other.”
Minka is busy shooting the Charlie’s Angels reboot in Miami and Jeter is still busy looking like a dork.

After nearly three years with the lovely Minka Kelly, Derek Jeter has finally struck out. Sorry, but I’m contractually obligated to use bad baseball puns when referencing their relationship. My hands are tied here. The Daily Mail says:
The 31-year-old actress and 37-year-old baseball star began dating in May 2008 and were [rumored] to have become engaged.
But a representative for Minka has confirmed that the couple have split.
A source [said]: ‘They care about each other and it was amicable. They’re still friends.’
I bet she broke up with him because the last name “Jeter” is just awful. You don’t wanna be saddled with that for the rest of your life. It sounds like a word my stroke-riddled grandmother made up. Or maybe like a type of bug that would get in your hair or ears if you didn’t wash carefully enough.

Well, that lasted longer than I thought it would. Just Jared and People Magazine confirm that Derek Jeter and Minka Kelly have broken up after three years together. When they got together, Minka was on Friday Night Lights, but she had enough time off from working to be in NYC regularly, and she was often seen at Yankees games. However, several months ago, she was cast as one of the leads in the Charlie?s Angels reboot, filming in LA (and Miami, I think?), and I?m sure that was a bigger time commitment, and she and Derek weren?t able to spend as much time together. Still, I haven?t heard anything about other people involved, and it seems like they just decided to split because the relationship had nowhere else to go:

The very private couple repeatedly dodged engagement rumors and were reluctant to talk about their relationship, though earlier this month they joked about Kelly’s lack of baseball knowledge.

Working hard on the set of her latest project, Minka Kelly was spotted filming scenes for "Charlie's Angels" in Miami, Florida yesterday (July 20).
The gun-wielding 31-year-old brunette shot a super-intense part of the show as she stood atop a moving vehicle, perfecting her aim along the way.
Minka is readying herself for her Comic-Con visit alongside her fellow "Angels" co-stars Annie Ilonzeh and Heidi Rae, as they're set to sign posters for fans on Saturday (July 23).
The promotional stops comes ahead of the reboot's much anticipated premiere, which makes its debut on September 22 at 8pm ET on ABC
