Elisabeth Hasselbeck took a break from plagiarizing books and being the older, wiser Carrie Prejean to give birth to a bouncing baby boy yesterday. Elisabeth welcomed Isaiah Timothy Sunday afternoon, and mother and son are doing well. Isaiah joins Elisabeth and Tim Hasselbeck?s two older children, Grace Elisabeth (4 years old) and Taylor Thomas (21 months old). Hasselbeck?s due date was August 11, so the baby was all of two days premature, which doesn?t count, right? I kind of like the name Isaiah Timothy, but what is the abbreviation/nickname for an ?Isaiah?? ?Is?? ?Isa?? Isa?s not bad, actually. That?s kind of cute:
It’s another boy for Elisabeth Hasselbeck and her husband of seven years, former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck.
The 32-year-old View co-host welcomed son Isaiah Timothy at 2:49 p.m. Sunday in New York City, according to a blog entry posted to the ABC talk show’s official site.
“Elisabeth and Isaiah are doing great and we’re excited about the addition of another baby boy into our family,” Tim Hasselbeck said in a phone interview posted on the site.
Weighing in at 7 lbs., 7 oz., Isaiah joins siblings Grace Elisabeth, 4, and Taylor Thomas, 21 months, at home.
Elisabeth announced the pregnancy on-air in January. Her due date was Aug. 11.

Since I don?t follow The View with any regularity, I have no idea how long Elisabeth will take for her maternity leave. Maybe she won?t even come back. There are constant rumors swirling around The View that Barbara Walters would love to get rid of Elisabeth, and that Babs is always telling Elisabeth to tone it down. But Elisabeth probably brings in more ratings than anyone else (except maybe Rosie O?Donnell), so I doubt Barbara will get rid of her any time soon.

They say the third time is a charm, and over the weekend Elisabeth Hasselbeck welcomed her third child, a baby boy.
The “View” hostess hottie and her husband, former NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck, said hello to Isaiah Timothy at 2:49pm yesterday (August 9) in New York City.
Tim told press, “Elisabeth and Isaiah are doing great and we’re excited about the addition of another baby boy into our family.”
Isaiah, who weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces, has an older sister named Grace Elisabeth (4 yrs) and an older brother named Taylor Thomas (21 months).

Yesterday, we reported on the plagiarism and copyright infringement lawsuit filed against Elisabeth Hasselbeck and her book The G-Free Diet. A woman named Susan Hasset claims that Hasselbeck pretty much lifted huge chunks of her 2008 book Living With Celiac Disease. At first, many people were kind of thinking ?oh, whatever.? I certainly did - until I read the affidavit TMZ got their hands on, which makes a really good case for Hasselbeck being a blatant plagiarist.
Elisabeth addressed the lawsuit on The View this morning in a very short statement. The women are talking about something else, then both Joy Behar and Whoopi stop talking and Whoopi motions to Elisabeth and says ?Yes, go Elisabeth.? To which Elisabeth says, (in my take) in a rather sarcastic way to Whoopi, ?Thanks for allowing me this moment?? Then Elisabeth launches into her explanation: ?This week a claim was filed with regard to my book The G-Free Diet, and I just want to assure you the allegations are without merit and are being handled appropriately. Thank you for allowing me to speak.? Without merit, eh? Right?
No worries, says Elisabeth Hasselbeck ? who took a brief moment during Wednesday’s The View to comment on the copyright infringement charge against her by a Massachusetts author.
“I just want to assure you the allegations are without merit and are being handled appropriately,” said Hasselbeck, 32, who has spoken openly about her self-diagnosed celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder linked to gluten proteins in wheat, barley and rye.
Hasselbeck’s book, The G Free Diet-A Gluten-Free Survival Guide, was published in May 2009 by Center Street Hachette Book Group. Crying foul, and seeking $3 million, is Susan Hassett, who claims that in 2008 she had sent Hasselbeck a copy of her own book ? the self-published Living with Celiac Disease ? along with a homemade cooking video, a newspaper story about celiac disease, her business card and a personal note.
The message expressed Hassett’s hope that Hasselbeck was well and noted that the TV personality was lucky to catch her celiac disease early. Hassett also offered to discuss her book with Hasselbeck in order to spread the word about celiac disease to her viewers. In return, she never received so much as a thank you, says Hassett.
Instead, Hassett claims Hasselbeck infringed on Hassett’s copyright by stealing her material “word for word” and copying the format of her book. In her lawsuit, filed Monday in Boston federal court, Hassett says she will donate a portion of whatever proceeds she receives from the suit to create a camp designed for children with celiac disease.
On Tuesday, a statement released on behalf of Center Street and Hasselbeck, said, in part, “There is no basis for the allegations in the Complaint as published in the press. Ms. Hasselbeck worked diligently and tirelessly on her book and is disappointed in this attempt to discredit her work and her ability to bring this important message to the public.”
[From People]
Elisabeth?s statement was a bit too brief? my interpretation is that she knows that she was caught. I know that Barbara Walters is no longer any kind of paragon of journalism, but I do think that Babs should do an in-house investigation into these charges, and if Barbara thinks they have merit, Elisabeth should be fired.
I?m really starting to think all of this may be our fault for actually believing for a second that Elisabeth was smart enough to bang out a relatively smart book on a complicated disease. We let her down. When she originally released the book, all of us should have been like ?Oh, no? don?t believe it. There must be another explanation. The Elisabeth we know can barely read a book, much less write one.?

Elizabeth Hasselbeck is being sued! There?s this woman, Susan Hassett, who claims that Hasselbeck ?stole? her book idea. The book idea that was allegedly stolen isn?t what I was hoping for - something political or something sappy, about being the perfect Republican family or something. Instead, the book idea that Hasselbeck ?stole? is about Celiac Disease - otherwise known as some kind of extreme wheat allergy, to the point where wheat consumption damages the small intestine. It?s a really serious thing that can effect everyone from newborns to full-grown adults, and it can make life hell.
Hasselbeck has Celiac Disease, and she published The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide, which was sort of a cookbook/handbook. Hasselbeck even has a website about being ?g-free?. Unfortunately for Elisabeth, Susan Hassett wrote a book called Living With Celiac Disease a couple of years before Hasselbeck ?wrote? her book. At first I thought this was no big deal, that Celiac Disease has gotten more exposure, and more people are writing about it, and of course some of the books are going to sound similar. Turns out, not so much. Hasset sent Hasselbeck a copy of her book thirteen months before Hasselbeck published her book, which seems to be nearly identical to Hasset?s book. TMZ has the rundown of the plagiarism and copyright infringement, and they also have a copy of the letter Hasset sent Elisabeth:
Elisabeth Hasselbeck ripped off a woman by plagiarizing her disease material — so claims Susan Hassett, who fired off a letter to “The View” host just before suing her.
We obtained the letter — in which Susan claims she sent Elisabeth a book called “Living with Celiac Disease” back in April of ‘08. Thirteen months later, Susan says Hasselbeck published the same book with a new title: “The G Free Diet -A Gluten Free Survival Guide.” Yes, the title sucks.
Susan compares chapters and lines. Here are some highlights.
Susan’s Book Chapter 1: What is Celiac Disease?
Hasselbeck Chapter 2: What is Celiac Disease?
Susan’s tips: “Shop in the outer isles of the supermarket.”
Hasselbeck’s tips: “Food in the outer isles of the supermarket.”
And the comparisons go on and on.
Susan just sued Elisabeth for copyright infringement and plagiarism.
[From TMZ]
This incident seems a lot like the whole Jessica Seinfeld-plagiarism scandal, where Jessica Seinfeld pretty much stole an entire cookbook from a woman, all about how to make food fun for kids. Hasset is accusing Elizabeth of stealing her general idea for gluten-free life, as well as the actual ideas, text and life-remedies contained in the book. Don?t these people know that they?ll be found out? Or is it our fault for thinking Elisabeth was actually capable of writing a book?

| Barbara Walters to replace Elisabeth Hasselbeck w/ Carrie Prejean? | Added 15 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is on her way out from The View - whether it?s just for maternity leave, or a permanent change, only Barbara Walters knows. According to Mike Walker’s column in The National Enquirer, Barbara is so sick of Elisabeth?s ?shrilly-silly views? and her ?looney-toon responses” that she might hire someone else for the ?conservative? seat on The View.
I have to say that Barbara lacks imagination. It?s like Barbara has a ?conservative = ditzy blonde? equation in her head, because she?s really not stretching out the criteria for Elisabeth?s replacement. Barbara is thinking about… Carrie ?Miss California? Prejean! Yes, fresh off her spokesperson deal for the National Organization for Marriage, Prejean is now being mentioned as a possible replacement for Hasselbeck. Not cool, Barbara.
?Adam and Eve… Not Adam and Steve!? That loud scream you heard was terrified Elisabeth Hasselbeck wailing that Baba Wawa - aka Barbara Walters - keeps plotting to bounce her from ?The View? because of her shrilly-silly views.
But this time, ?Elisabeth really has something to worry about,? said a show source, who revealed that while Dizzie Lizzie?s on maternity leave, Walters will audition, as her fill-in, the right-wing babe on the block - Miss USA runner-up Carrie Prejean, who made national headline with her ?no gay marriage? bombshell during the pageant.
And it could turn into a permanent gig for the controversial beauty queen, say show insiders, because Barbara?s seriously fed up with Elisabeth?s coo-coo-conserva-babbble - and her looney-toon responses to co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd.
When Joy asked, for example, why she kept defending Mel Gibson - refusing to admit he?s a hypocrite for divorcing, despite his much-avowed Catholic faith - the exchange got reeeally ugly.
Said Joy: ?Listen, Elisabeth, there?s a self-righteous-ness to the guy.? Shrilled Elisabeth: ?Isn?t it self-righteous to call someone self-righteous??
Groaning like an embarrassed granny, Barbara quietly gasped: ?Oh, Elisabeth!? Stay tuned.
[From The National Enquirer, print edition, May 11, 2009]
That replacement would not only be cheap, it would be… dare I say it… ageist. Torpedoing the ?aging? thirty-something Hasselbeck for the 21-year-old beauty queen is just wrong. Now, it wouldn?t bother me at all to see Elisabeth replaced, but Barbara should actually try to get a conservative voice of some authenticity, education, and sense. There are some conservative women out there that would fit the bill. How about Dana Perino, former Bush White House press secretary? She?s got more sense than Hasselbeck and Prejean combined.

“The View” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck has revealed that she and husband Tim are expecting their third child. Elisabeth is due in August, she announced on Thursday’s broadcast of “The View.” So far, the TV host is feeling healthy except for a little bit of morning sickness and fatigue. Apparently, the nausea she was experiencing post-election and during the inauguration was not due to her outrage that her best buddies, John McCain and Palin, weren’t elected - it was because she was knocked up. Go figure!
Hot topic: Elisabeth Hasselbeck are her husband Tim are expecting their third child.
On Thursday’s The View, Hasselbeck, 31, announced the happy news and revealed that she is due in August.
“We were thoroughly happy with the surprise of it,” she said. “I didn’t even know for two months ? I was walking around ? I thought I had ? I kept saying, ?Electionitis, electionitis.’
She said she felt sick while attending the inauguration earlier this month.
“I was tired, I was nauseous, I thought I was worn out from the whole procedure,” she went on. “No. I was knocked up and didn?t realize it.”

This could be good and bad news. On the down side, viewers are going to be subjected to every gory detail of the pregnancy from now until August. It’s gong to be like Kathie Lee Gifford all over again. But then there’s the good news: she will no doubt be taking a maternity leave, which means at least six weeks of guest hosts. Hooray! Unless, of course, the producers at “The View” want to find someone equally as obnoxious, like Ann Coulter, to replace her. But what do I care- I never watch this piece of crap show anyway. All the women, with the exception of Whoopi, make me want to stick sharp objects in my ears.
Anyway - congratulations to the family on their impending new addition.
