Surely Bill O?Reilly will have something to say about this - in a recent interview Jennifer Aniston referred to herself as a ?retard.?
The usually composed, well-spoken actress slipped during her visit on ?Live With Regis and Kelly on Thursday (August 19) when explaining what it was like dressing up as Barbara Streisand for the September issue of Harper?s Bazaar.
"You're playing dress up!" Regis told her, to which Aniston replied, "Yes, I play dress up! I do it for a living, like a retard!"
Peter Berns, CEO of The Arc (a nonprofit advocate for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities), told Us Magazine it was "extraordinarily offensive and inappropriate."
"Frankly, someone in her position ought to know better," he said. "She is using language that is offensive to a large segment of the population in this country. We estimate that there are probably in excess of 5 million people in the country with intellectual disabilities, and when you think about all of them, their family members and friends, you're talking about tens of millions of people who find the use of that term to be really offensive. Every time folks hear that word, it kind of reminds them of all the discrimination and oppression they've experienced in their lives. Even if it wasn't intended to insult them, that is the effect of it."

Okay, yes, I still use the word ?cool?. Usually not as a genuine enthusiastic adjective to describe something I like (?Mad Men is so cool?), but more to say something is okay by me, but I don?t really feel that strongly about it, honestly (?Sure, CB, it?s cool if I work alone this afternoon.?) When I?m describing something I really like, I use words like: the bomb, awesome, epic, insane, bodacious, and variations on -tastic, like asstastic or dragtastic, etc. When I?m describing something I hate, I use words like tragic, busted, budget, terrible, horrible, f-cked up, sh-tty, horrendous, FUBAR, etc. I don?t think it would occur to me to use ?not cool? or ?uncool?. But I am not Jennifer Aniston.
So Jennifer was asked about this scandal that broke yesterday - her former hair stylist or whatever was stealing her credit card information (the lady did it to a bunch of people). And all Aniston could muster up was ?We had a situation that was not cool so I just stopped going to her.? Aniston famously referred to Angelina?s 2007 Vogue interview as uncool - ?That stuff about how she couldn’t wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool.? Someone get this chick a thesaurus, please.
Jennifer Aniston wasn’t surprised when she heard the news that Beverly Hills beauty salon owner Maria Gabriella Perez was charged with fraud for ripping off credit card information from her A-list clients.
Aniston, 41, said Thursday on ABC’s Good Morning America that she stopped working with Perez, 51, about five years ago.
“We had a situation that was not cool so I just stopped going to her,” Aniston said. “I knew something like this would eventually happen because there’s no way you can get away with that. It’s terrible.”
In addition to Aniston, Perez’s celeb clients include Halle Berry, Melanie Griffith and Anne Hathaway. According to a police affidavit, Perez stole $214,000 from actress Liv Tyler alone over a five-month period last year.
Aniston said her damage “wasn’t to the extent of these other girls.”
If convicted on two counts of fraud, Perez (due in federal court Thursday) could spend up to 25 years behind bars.

She also talked about the Bill O?Reilly stuff a little bit more, and this time she had a better-prepared sound byte. At first she was sarcastic, saying: ?I was actually glorifying 12-year-olds going out there and getting knocked up and doing it by themselves because that?s what I preach.? Then she said, ?I just felt it was begging for a response. People say things about me all the time and you go, ?Oh whatever,? But this was just not about me, it was also insulting women who are out there doing this on their own.? You know she doesn?t say ?oh, whatever.? She says, ?Oh, uncool.?
UPDATE: F-ck me, Jennifer also went on Regis & Kelly this morning and she used the word “retard”. Seriously, someone buy her a dictionary and a thesaurus. Here it in context: Regis was talking about her Babs Streisand homage and he said, “You’re playing dress up!” Her respose: “Yes, I play dress up! I do it for a living, like a retard!” Advocates are now bashing her - here’s one dude’s take on the situation. She should seriously apologize for this. I hope she does.
At first I thought this was just a plain shirtdress, but that dark trim is fug. It looks so dated!

Yesterday we ran a story about some convoluted and frankly dumb comments that Jennifer Aniston made on the red carpet in response to the mini-scandal over Bill O’Reilly disagreeing with a statement she made on single motherhood. I worded the title kind of vaguely, though, and I think a lot of people assumed the story was old as it didn’t get a lot of comments. (As would a story that was titled, say “Aniston makes dumb rambling comments about Bill O’Reilly,” which is basically what she did. I didn’t want people to yell at me though.)
Last night Aniston was on Chelsea Lately. Handler is a buddy of Aniston’s and I’ve noticed that whenever she’s interviewed by someone she knows and/or is comfortable with she does fine and just rolls with the punches. Otherwise she can give kind of halting interviews. She had a lot of fun with Chelsea and together they discussed some of the silly recent rumors we’ve heard about Aniston from the tabloids. I’ve included links to the stories they’re covering in the quoted text below. (Handler’s quotes are in bold.)
You’ve been pregnant like 8 or 9 times this year [in the tabloids]
I think the best was ‘Yes comma, I am having a baby’ [Ed note: that was in OK! and it was an exclamation point not a comma]
You go out to dinner with somebody and then you’re penetrating, or then like you had your trainer living with you so then you’re a lesbian.
Hey that was an original one at least.
So your trainer was living with you?

Because my pilates trainer lives with me and everytime somebody makes fun of me I go ‘Jennifer Aniston lives with her trainer.”

Then there was a story about us, that we go work out together at Crunch in West Hollywood, then we have “vodka fueled” fiestas
[Laughs] Why don’t we ever do that?

Yes, we were going to go out on the town and you decided we were going to go find men together
We were going to go out together and then you blew me off saying you were on a set in Hawaii filming a movie…
What, no “reunion” or “back in touch with Brad” stories? Those are probably bunk too. Aniston also explained how she created her self-named perfume. She said she worked with professionals and smelled different scents for hours at a time until “you’re high as a kite.” When Chelsea asked if Jennifer brought anything in as examples of smells she liked, she said “yeah, I brought like a candle, and a hair serum and a lotion.”
“Cause I read in a magazine you brought a dirty sneaker.”
“Who wrote that is stupid.”
It was a fun interview and I enjoy Aniston when she’s just chatting and isn’t trying to explain some point that’s lost to her. It’s not surprising to hear that so many of the stories about her are false. She only bothers to debunk them when someone asks her or her publicist, but at least she isn’t on Twitter telling us her every move like some celebrities.
The Switch is out this weekend.
In other Aniston news, Kaiser pointed me to these very busted-looking photos of Aniston [via D-Listed], said to be her unretouched Bazaar shoot. She’s normally very pretty, but this light just makes her look awful. I’ll say something nice - she’s not Botoxed to hell at least.

Stepping out for a promotional appearance, Jennifer Aniston was spotted arriving at ABC studios in New York City this morning (August 19).
The ?Bounty Hunter? babe looked to be in good spirits as she headed inside to talk about her new film ?The Switch? on ?Good Morning America.?
In a recent interview with MTV, Aniston talked about the hilariously awkward scene of ?basting? in the film, out tomorrow (August 20th).
"Well, you can't really give that away. Because that's one of those scenes in the movie, when I say I laughed out loud, I laughed out loud [when I read it in the script]. It's one of those things where you go, 'They did not just ... that did not just happen. Really?' And then, 'How is he going to get out of this one?' It's again, one of the things that made me laugh hysterically about this movie."

Can I take off my Brangaloonie tin foil cap and my beige potato sack smock for a moment? Because I?d really like to compliment Jennifer Aniston on something. Her film (jointly with Jason Bateman), The Switch, is coming out on Friday, tomorrow, and we?ve yet to see some well-timed, grainy, sketchy photo-op of Jennifer on some ?date? with someone high-profile. There has been no new boyfriend rolled out in People Magazine. There?s been very little in the way of speculation ever since that Christopher Gartin stuff went down last month. This is progress, for real. She?s selling her film without selling a romance in her private life. She?s also sold the film without giving half a dozen interviews where she spouts New Age bumper stickers - PROGRESS!
So it almost kills my Aniston buzz to read this week?s Star Magazine story - according to their sources, Aniston might be back with John Mayer. Oh, girl. NO. According to The Frisky and Jezebel (who have coverage of Star?s story), Jennifer and John reunited after they spent ?months? reconnecting on the phone, having ?deep talks,? and after he ?wooed her with gifts.? Finally, Aniston gave it up when he sent a private jet for her to come meet him in New York. They met at the Four Seasons in New York, and John serenaded her as he strummed his guitar. And they ordered room service too. Apparently, he apologized for being a jerk, etc. She?s been wearing the Rolex he allegedly gave her, and a source says, ?No one?s seen Jen this happy in a while.? So? is the reason we haven?t seen Aniston out and about with a new guy because she?s been shame-f-cking Mayer? Eh. I want to think she?s smarter than that, honestly.
And maybe she is getting smart - some random internet report (that?s being picked up everywhere) claims that Aniston is now dating some random ?wealthy European banker.? Something about her finally wanting a relationship with someone low-key and out of the spotlight. That would be my recommendation for her honestly, and if this ?wealthy European banker? is the real deal, it will be interesting to see how it plays out. I think she would work well with someone inside the industry, but just not an actor - like a producer or agent or screenwriter. Someone with a flexible schedule with similar interests, you know?

While on the red carpet for The Switch, the people at E! asked Jennifer Aniston about Bill O’Reilly’s comments against her pro-single mother stance. Her roundabout kind of stilted answer seemed like a giveaway that she didn’t write the initial brilliant statement responding to Bill’s criticism. (Or maybe she did and just isn’t as practiced at speaking off the cuff.) Aniston isn’t the most skilled when it comes to giving quotes, and I guess she was trying to say that Bill wasn’t either. It came off as a little ironic.
How caught off guard were you with the Bill O’Reilly comment?
I think as caught off guard as anybody would be in reaction to hearing such a rude sort of comment towards you and other women, but you know, I think people like that must not know any better, because if they heard how they sounded I’m sure they wouldn’t - they were trying to make a point - speak that way.
Now who needs to hear how they sound? I guess she’s saying that Bill didn’t really mean that, but it’s hard to tell and doesn’t make sense to me. It’s not a decent point anyway, because pundits like O’Reilly talk smack for a living. They know exactly what they’re saying, they just say things we don’t agree with. It’s not like they “don’t know any better,” they seem to believe these things and it’s their job to tell us about it. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, Aniston needs to work with someone to teach her how to give coherent talking points. People listen to what she says and she needs to be more polished in interviews. She did a decent job promoting The Bounty Hunter and seems to have improved in interviews in the past couple of years. Her job may not involve talking every day like O’Reilly, but it’s a critical part of promoting her films and I’d like to see her get better at it. I agree with her initial point, and I did agree with her follow-up statement, but this subsequent comment is so muddled that I have no idea what to think.
For those of you who will say it’s unfair to judge her based on red carpet interviews - this is part of her job. Some celebrities are better at speaking off the cuff than others, but there are surely people who can coach them on giving answers to anticipated questions. This was a huge news item and she should have prepared a more coherent answer to this question. It’s like she wasn’t even aware enough of the statement her people issued to simply phrase it in her own words or quote from it again.

Here is Jennifer Aniston at last night’s premiere of The Switch. Maybe it?s not a tube top, but at first glance, I thought it was. It?s some kind of fancy bustier thing in beige (ugh). And then the skirt is a black mini, with an extra dash of fabric on the side. I would have liked to see the skirt as a full dress, you know? It would have been a standard LBD (little black dress), but I?m thinking that might have been better than the beige. One thing you have to give both Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie - they both seem to love the neutrals that wash them out. I?ll also give this to Aniston - she looks like she?s gained a little weight, and it looks really good on her. She looks like she isn?t working out constantly and obsessively, and like she?s actually taking some time to eat some pasta every so often. Of course, her body is still great, I?m not saying that. I?m just applauding her for having some meat on her bones. Although? it could just be the outfit, right? There?s some weird fabric puckering around the waist.
The hair is still flat-ironed though? oh well. Jason Bateman looks good! And did you know that Juliette Lewis is in this film? She plays Aniston?s ?kooky? friend. US Weekly recently spoke with Juliette about working with Aniston, and whether it was weird considering they both were with Brad Pitt at one point. Juliette said: ?I love her so much. We have a mutual affection, she?s really down-to-earth and a girls? girl? plus, there?s, you know, that obvious history we share? no, [we didn?t share stories] but I met her ages ago when they were at a restaurant, and he introduced us. For her, being with him was profound, as it was a marriage. For me, it was only like high school relationship. Brad and I were on a journey together at the beginning of our careers. Then he became this sensation in a whole other way. I always knew I?d stay an outsider.? She also talks about being down the Xenu for 22 YEARS. Damn. She?s no stranger to the red carpet, and last night (August 16) Jennifer Aniston was spotted at the premiere of her new movie ?The Switch.?
The ?Rumor Has It? actress looked lovely as she arrived at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood, posing with costars Jason Bateman and Juliette Lewis.
And though she was all smiles for the paparazzi, Jen also voiced her beef with the producers? decision to change the name of the film from ?The Baster? to ?The Switch.?
"I wished it was still called The Baster, [it changed because of] tests and meetings and focus groups. Cool names like The Baster get switched to The Switch."

According to Egotastic, these photos are outtakes from Jennifer Aniston?s photo shoot for Harper?s Bazaar. I am unsure if the outtakes are from this September?s shoot (in which she paid homage to Babs), or from a previous shoot, like maybe last year or something. I don?t know, Aniston does a lot of Bazaar covers, so your guess is as good as mine. I do have one question though - what is happening in the above photo? There?s a weird thing happening with her pit and the top of her left boob. I don?t see any straps or anything that could be tugging her skin that way, it?s the weirdest thing. Does Aniston have alien pits? Oh, and yes, those are nipple shadows. Much like Amy Winehouse, we?ve seen it all before!
Anyway, Hollywood Life has a story about Jennifer refusing to ever do television work again. Which, if it?s true, kind of sucks. Jennifer did some of her best work on television, and some of the most creative and talented people in the industry have found great homes in television. But Hollywood Life?s sources claim that Jennifer sees herself as Miss Movie Star:

?There?s been a lot of talk about her appearing on Cougar Town lately, but she says it isn?t going to happen because she?s too busy and wants to stay in film.? Our source hastens to add, ?It?s nothing against Courteney at all ? she just wants to remove herself from TV.?
But we LOVED Jen as a television actress ? especially as Rachel Green on Friends; she was also hilarious as Jack Donaghy?s stalker on 30 Rock.

Call me crazy, but I don?t actually think this true. I mean, sure, I?ll buy that Aniston wants to put herself out there as ?too good? for television, but I think if she got a strong offer from a good show, she would probably take it. Maybe she just doesn?t want to do Cougar Town? If that?s the case, I completely understand. Although many would give Aniston credit for showing up for her BFF, in my opinion Cougar Town is a f-cking train wreck and everyone involved should be embarrassed. So is Aniston just trying to be polite by telling Courteney, ?Uh, I?m just really into my movie career right now, thanks??
