It’s amazing how little angst I feel for Miley Cyrus’ antics from the past year. Now that she’s on tour instead of wagging her tongue all over every magazine cover and talk show in the universe, I don’t mind Miley as much. She’s doing her thang in her niche, and she pops up every so often to say weird sh-t. She’s more of a novelty now than a nuisance. Here’s something interesting: Forbes published an article about an unexpected rise in demand with Miley’s ticket sales. She’s reached the halfway point of her tour. Now that she’s not in our faces all the time, people are suddenly interested in Miley again.
As I threatened yesterday, Miley covers the May issue of ELLE. The shoot is awful with some weird 1970s vibe and lots of Tom Ford clothing, which is confusing as a whole. Miley talks about several things in this interview, but what stands out are her words on feminism. Miley previously said she was “one of the biggest feminists in the world,” and everyone laughed. Flashing one’s hoo-ha does not a feminist make. Here’s Miley’s refined take:
She appreciates Disney now: “You know, I?m really thankful that I started on Disney. I got the most intense training. There?s times where I wish I could have just started as a new artist, but the world has kind of allowed me to do that. I feel really lucky–a lot of kid stars get all crazy or stuck in what they were, so they can?t actually become what they?re meant to be. When I went through a really intense breakup–you know, I was engaged–and when I was with him or when I was on Disney, the thing that gave me the most anxiety was not knowing what to do with myself when Disney wasn?t there to carry me anymore or if I didn?t have him. And now I?m free of both of those things, and I?m fine. Like, I lay in bed at night by myself and I?m totally okay, and that?s so much stronger than the person three years ago, who would have thought they would have died if they didn?t have a boyfriend.”
Her fan connection: “I have guys and girls that come out, and they?re like, ‘The only reason I?m able to admit that I?m gay is because you?ve made me feel like that?s okay.’ That is so intense, because that is a part of this generation–it wasn?t always accepted–and I feel like I am a big part of that change. Or they know that I?ve struggled with depression, and that helped them get over theirs. That gives me a big purpose–a reason to wake up in the morning that?s bigger than to put on my f—ing feathers and my little outfits.”
Miley’s idea of feminism: “I?m just about equality, period. It?s not like, I?m a woman, women should be in charge! I just want there to be equality for everybody. I still don?t think we?re there 100 percent. I mean, guy rappers grab their crotch all f—ing day and have hos around them, but no one talks about it. But if I grab my crotch and I have hot model bitches around me, I?m degrading women? I?m a woman–I should be able to have girls around me! But I?m part of the evolution of that. I hope.”

Miley still doesn’t understand the feminism thing, right? Just because men degrade women in videos doesn’t mean it’s okay for women to do it too. Oh well. I’m with Gloria Steinem — who said, “I wish we didn’t have to be naked to be noticed.” We also shouldn’t strive to humiliate other women just because dudes do it. As for grabbing crotches? I have no problem with Miley grabbing her crotch. I only hope she’s doing it because she likes it and not because the guys are doing it too.

Miley Cyrus covers the May issue of Elle. That’s a warning. She’s wearing Marc Jacobs to kick off the “women in music” issue. I look forward to dissecting the crazy things Miley says when the interview arrives.
Miley is surely still reeling from the loss of her beloved dog, Floyd, who passed away last week from unknown causes. Miley is a huge dog person (she lost a different dog in 2012), but Floyd was her favorite. Miley chose to dedicate a portion of her Brooklyn concert to Floyd on Saturday night. She serenaded a huge Floyd replica while sobbing onstage. You can see photos of that act here. Miley told her audience, “That was the hardest song of the night to do. As y’all know, because I lost my Floydie this week…Sometimes I just can’t stop from breaking down crying.” The Floyd replica had slightly creepy glowing eyes, but I can’t hate on the act. We all grieve differently.
Miley also revealed on Saturday that her mom, Tish, surprised her with a new dog named Moonie. Miley tweeted, “my mama knew my heart was broken & this morning I woke up to Moonie kisses. So torn. I love having little Moonie cuddle w me and Mary Jane but just don’t know if I’m ready to love again.” Here’s a picture of Moonie:
Mary Jane is another one of Miley’s pups, and now she has Moonie to “replace” Floyd. Miley loves dogs and would never turn one down, but this seems a little bit … soon? I shouldn’t judge, really. I vowed to wait a full year after my Lab died before getting another dog but only made it a little over two months. The itch started, and then my daughter and I went “just to look” at shelter dogs. You can guess how that worked out, right?
I think Tish overstepped here. Waiting only two days before getting a new dog seems a little extreme, but that’s not Miley’s fault. Tish should have let Miley decide to get another dog in her own time. Nothing can rush the healing process. You can choose to open your heart to another pet, but nothing will “replace” the old one. Ever.

Miley Cyrus’ “Adore You” remix cover featured her showing a little nipple straddling a horse statue. That was lame though and everyone thought as much. That’s why we now have the full image which surfaced online. It features her completely topless on top of the horse statue (NSFW version here).
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Miley Cyrus’ nipples and it probably won’t be the last. There were photos from that one shoot that leaked which lawyers told us to take down and then there were these and these.
So it’s not like this is really groundbreaking. At this point everyone’s become desensitized Miley Cyrus’ nipple. It’s like seeing the sun for the 47000th time.

Miley Cyrus is still on her crazy Bangerz tour, and I’m feeling very zen about it. After all of Miley’s antics, she’s finally worn me down for the moment. She’s doing what she wants to do with her career, and she’s not hurting anyone but herself. There are the children to consider, but parents have themselves to blame if they take their kids to see the former Hannah Montana in concert.
Miley’s been stirring up her own brand of controversy as always. Let’s do some quick bullet points to catch up:
* There are rumors circulating about her upsetting Isaac Hanson by smoking weed in the Hanson Brothers’ 3CG studio in Tulsa. I don’t know if that story is true, but it’s super rude to smoke anything in a place where it’s not welcome. Let alone weed, which is still very illegal in Oklahoma. Those poor Hansons must have fumigated the place after Miley departed.
* Radar Online has a new story about how dreadfully lonely Miley is. That’s a rather obnoxious tale. I think it’s equally as obnoxious as smoking dope in the Hansons’ studio. What else? A $5,000 cake to celebrate the Bangerz tour.
* Miley has outdone herself with some new video footage taken at her Tampa concert. In the vid, she’s stalking around her stage while asking, “You guys having a bad ass time? What about you guys?” Then she takes a huge drink of water and spews it all over the crowd. She does that three times. Here’s a clip of Miley doing her best Johnny Rotten because she’s so punk rock:
Eh. She’s not so much a Sex Pistol as a Justin Bieber clone with this move. Remember how Swaggy launched spit bombs on his fans from a balcony? Same effect. What’s odd is that Miley’s fans loved it when she spit on them. They cheered! The girl who uploaded this footage commented on YouTube about how Miley was only pretending to spit, and people egged her on: “cmon if u were a huge fan of anyone and they did that u would be freaking out to i honestly wish she did that to my side i was really jealous.“?
TMZ has a better angle on the spitting incident. This is so gross.

Here is Miley Cyrus celebrating the Miami stop on her Bangerz tour at the Cameo Nightclub.
The sultry singer was spotted wearing denim shorts that revealed her toned legs. She paired a midriff top that featured colorful embroidered animals.
Sources that were there revealed that Miley stayed in the club until the early hours of the morning. However, these same sources were not sure of the ?Bangerz? singer?s plans for the rest of the evening.
Always impressed with those legs…. Very curvy for her body style.

Miley Cyrus exposed the dangers of twerking by posting a photo of herself in a bikini complete with bruised ass on her Instagram. “#f**kyeahtampa yasss that’s a bruise on my arsss,” she wrote. No word on if she got Mandy the Midget or Ashley the Amazonian to massage it out for her.
