When Miley Cyrus won Best Video at the VMAs, her mysterious date accepted her award “on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth” on the streets of LA. This young man, only known as “Jesse,” revealed his homeless plight to the world. He directed people to Miley’s Facebook page where she talks about her new mission for My Friend’s Place.
For once, Miley was using her platform for good instead of #twerk. Jesse also happened to be highly photogenic, so he attracted a lot of attention even before his speech. People were curious about Jesse and his history. The media started to dig, and it didn’t take long before dirt surfaced. Jesse has a criminal record and a warrant out for his arrest:
Days after he appeared on national television, news surfaced that Helt is currently wanted in the state of Oregon.
According to the Polk County Circuit Court, Helt was arrested back in October 2010 for attempted burglary and criminal mischief in the third degree. He was convicted of criminal trespassing in the first degree and sentenced to one year of supervised probation, 88 hours of community service and ordered to complete and adjust class. Additionally, Helt was charged $572 in fines and $186 in restitution.
Helt was also charged with criminal mischief in the third degree and sentenced to 30 days in jail.
The following year, Helt was ordered back to court three times for failing to report to his probation officer, failing to submit urine sample, using controlled substances and neglecting to follow through on the terms of his probation. Helt had returned to court twice in April and August 2011, and was able to continue his probation. When a third motion to revoke his probation was filed in November 2011, Helt did not return to court. Today, a warrant is still active for his arrest.
Public records indicate that Helt — who received his GED from Salem, Oregon?s Chemeketa Community College — moved to Los Angeles in early 2013. Helt?s mother, Linda Helt, told The Oregonian that her son was looking to “make it on his own” in California. He was homeless at that time, she confirmed.
Linda Helt also revealed that Cyrus had given her 22-year-old son money to travel home to visit family after the VMAs. “He’s going to be traveling to Oregon today,” she said on Monday. Of meeting Cyrus, Linda Helt said “He was at the right place at the right time… He needs to be blessed.”

She made headlines for taking a homeless 22-year-old guy to the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards over the weekend, but turns out Miley Cyrus' buddy has a warrant out for his arrest.
Jesse Helt actually accepted the ?Wrecking Ball? babe?s trophy during the ceremony and was said to be heading back to his hometown of Salem, Oregon with funds given to him by Miss Cyrus.
But now it turns out Helt is wanted on charges of burglary, criminal trespassing and criminal mischief due to an attempted break-in back in 2010.
At this point, Jesse is wanted by Oregon police, so it?s doubtful he?ll show his face around those parts anytime soon.

Treating herself to a delicious lunch, Miley Cyrus showed up at Kiwami restaurant in Ventura, California on Monday afternoon (August 25).
The always-photogenic pop star wore a cropped black sweater with blue sleeves and a matching blue scarf as she walked out of the popular sushi stop to greet fans and shutterbugs.
And it sounds like Miley pulled a fast one on MTV, as the network had no idea she was going to have her homeless friend Jesse Helt accept her trophy at the Video Music Awards on Sunday night.
Since the touching moment, Jesse?s mother Linda Helt spoke to The Oregonian (they?re from Salem, Oregon) about her 22-year-old son.
?He moved to Los Angeles because he wanted to make it on his own,? she explained. Apparently, Miley paid for Jesse?s suit, a few nights in a swanky hotel over the weekend, and even gave him money to travel home to his family this week.

On her way to one of music’s biggest nights, Miley Cyrus took to her Instagram to show off her arm candy for the 2014 MTV Movie Awards, saying no more than, “My date #jesse #myfriendsplace #mtvVMAs2014,” as she puckered up to his handsome face.

Miley Cyrus had her big vindicating moment at last night’s VMAs. After last year’s tweark attack, I hoped MTV would let Miley fade into the background. MTV loves Miley though, so she won Video of the Year for “Wrecking Ball.” Sigh. Miley did an amazing thing though. She allowed her mystery date, a man named Jesse, to use her acceptance speech to talk about his experience as a homeless person in LA. Miley’s eyes filled with tears as Jesse admitted, “I’ve been an extra in your movies, I’ve been an extra in your lives.” It was a touching moment, and good on Miley for bringing awareness to a subject that people prefer to ignore.
Miley’s outfit was shockingly appropriate for the occasion. She wore black leather Alexandre Vauthier couture. Is Miley one of the only people who can pull off a tube top? Maybe so. I like this outfit from top to bottom. The leather’s a bit scuffed up, but Miley may have done that on purpose.
Amber Rose wore Laurel DeWitt in what can only be described as an homage to Rose McGowan’s 1998 booty dress. What’s sad is that I prefer Amber’s beg for red carpet attention better than her wedding dress. Amber does have the confidence and the body to pull off a dress like this. Such a revealing look feels natural for Amber. She walked the red carpet with Wiz Khalifa, who rolled out of bed and grabbed the nearest white t-shirt.
Demi Lovato dressed boldly in a beautiful red Lanvin gown. This dress is gorgeous, and Demi looks fantastic. I see this dress as a sign of Demi’s emotional maturation. The only thing wrong? The VMAs are much less formal. I would have saved this dress for an event like the Grammys.
Ireland Baldwin made her red carpet debut with rapper Angel Haze. I never realized until now how much taller Ireland is than Angel! Angel has a strong stage presence, so I expected her to be taller. Ireland wore Roberto Cavalli. This dress looked flapperish and fun, but the bodice was very ill-fitting. Angel wore Helmut Lang, which looked like her everyday uniform.

We?re excited to see if she makes another racy cameo as Miley Cyrus arrives at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards earlier this evening (August 24).
Last year the "Wrecking Ball" gal made her infamous "We Can't Stop" performance with Robin Thicke launching her career to a whole new level. Tonight she stepped in front of the cameras outside The Forum in Inglewood, showing plenty of love for her fans.
This year, there are plenty of worthy contenders up for the coveted Video of the Year trophy including Beyonce Knowles featuring Jay Z, Sia, Pharrell Williams, Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX and Miley Cyrus.
Meanwhile, the Best Female Video nominees are Katy Perry featuring Juicy J, Lorde, Ariana Grande featuring Iggy Azalea, Beyonce and Iggy Azalea featuring Charli XCX.

It?s no secret that her live shows push the envelope of good taste and propriety and it turns out Miley Cyrus is simply too racy for the Dominican Republic.
On Thursday (August 21), a government spokesperson announced that the ?Party in the USA? singer would not be granted a permit to perform in Santo Domingo on September 13th.
The statement explained that ?Miley undertakes acts that go against morals and customs, which are punishable by Dominican law.?
Given that tickets for the gig have been on sale since July, fans will receive refunds for the purchase price, anywhere from $27 up to $370.

I can’t believe that I’m writing Miley Cyrus so soon after for yesterday’s premeditated pee pose. We’re playing right into the twerkmaster’s clever plan, but this story bothers me. Miley has so many pets. The situation is coming to a head with her new pet pig, which she uploaded all over Instagram yesterday.
I have strong feelings about people treating pigs like accessories. It happens often enough with dogs and cats. Pigs have it even rougher. I think this is a “regular” pig in Miley’s arms, right? So it will grow much bigger and possibly become too much pet for Miley to handle. This could be even more disastrous than the case of the micro-pigs who were part of the 2009 Golden Globes swag bags. Celebrities were gifted “coupons” and only had to attend an hour-long seminar to adopt these pigs. For real. I heard of one situation where an attendee cashed in his coupon and kept the pig for a few weeks. He and his family were delighted that the piggie was so cute. Before too long though, piggy was shipped off to god knows where.
Anyway, I hope Miley is responsible with this pig. She’s named it Bubba Sue and seems attached already, but her track record with pets is spotty. Miley just lost her favorite dog, Floyd, in early June. (This wasn’t the first dog she lost under similar circumstances.) She wisely waited three months to adopt a new dog. She started showing off Emu for the paps a few weeks ago. Emu is now the fourth dog in Miley’s current cache. Four dogs should be more than enough, right? Now Bubba makes five.

She?s always had a penchant for adorable pets and Miley Cyrus has just added a new member to her family.
On Sunday (August 10), the ?Party in the USA? songstress took to her Instagram account to debut her gorgeous pig Bubba Sue with a few aww-worthy photos.
Cyrus wrote, ?Matching neck rolls,? and ?Happiest mommy ever,? as captions for her images and it turns out this isn?t Miley?s first experience with a pig.
Back in 2012, PETA sponsored a pig named Nora for Miley?s birthday, stating, ?PETA knew that sponsoring a rescued pig was the perfect birthday present for a young woman who spends so much time encouraging others to help animals. From promoting animal adoption to speaking up for cows who suffer on dairy farms, Miley never stops letting her millions of fans know what they can do to make the world a kinder place.?
