Well crap. Another untimely Hollywood death has occurred, just before Christmas, no less. Popeater reports the sad news,
Fans and friends were shocked by the untimely death of actress Brittany Murphy on Sunday morning. The ‘Clueless’ and ‘Girl, Interrupted’ actress went into full cardiac arrest, and paramedics were unable to revive her. Murphy, 32, was pronounced dead upon arrival at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and LA County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told the press Sunday evening that the tragedy was likely the result of natural causes, reports Access Hollywood.
Capt. John Kades of the coroner’s office says, “Foul play is not suspected at this time because there were no outward signs of trauma or other injuries,” according to PEOPLE.
Some colleagues were concerned about Murphy weeks before her death. The actress showed up for the for the opening of Tt Collection’s Pop-Up shop in LA, looking rail thin. Reports that she’d been let go from a film shooting for disrupting the set were denied by her rep, who claimed, “She was not nor has she ever been fired from any job big or small … [Due] to creative differences Ms. Murphy and the production mutually parted ways.”
The director of Murphy’s 2008 project ‘Across the Hall,’ Alex Merkin, said that the actress was always professional but acknowledged she’d been dealing with personal issues. “I just remember she was going through a lot at the time surrounding her husband being in the hospital.”
Sources claim that Murphy herself didn’t cause the disruption on set - husband of two years, Simon Monjack did. “Monjack came on the set inebriated,” ‘Shrinking Charlotte’ director Michael Z Gordon told The Hollywood Reporter. “The producers wanted to keep him away. Brittany of course defended him. And so she was let go.”
TMZ reports that the actress had experienced flu-like symptoms in the days leading to her death, and that Murphy was seriously ill a few hours before she collapsed. Sources told the website that Murphy began vomiting early Sunday morning. The sources also claimed that authorities found no illegal drugs in Murphy’s home, but it is apparent that the actress was taking some prescription medications. After the 911 call, Murphy’s mother Sharon told paramedics her daughter was diabetic.
Witnesses told TMZthat Murphy’s husband told hospital staff that he did not want an autopsy performed on his wife. However, as part of the coroner’s investigation, a pending autopsy has been confirmed.
“We don’t have an autopsy scheduled yet, but we will do it as soon as possible,” Kades said. “Given all the worldwide attention, if we can get it done [Monday], we will.”
“The sudden loss of our beloved Brittany is a terrible tragedy,” Murphy’s family said in a statement. “She was our daughter, our wife, our love and a shining star. We ask you to respect our privacy at this time.
Rest in peace, Brittany. You’ll always be dorky, awkward Tai to me. “Rollin’ with the homies…”

The entertainment world is still in shock over the passing of Brittany Murphy, and her family released a brief statement to convey their grief.
The “Clueless” actress’ family explained, “The sudden loss of our beloved Brittany is a terrible tragedy. She was our daughter, our wife, our love and a shining star. We ask you to respect our privacy at this time.”
As for any funeral arrangements, everything is still pending said an inside source. Details are expected to be released in the days to come.
Brittany Murphy was rushed from her Los Angeles home to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by paramedics yesterday morning. She was pronounced dead at age 32.

There’s been a lot of speculation about how and why Brittany Murphy died at the young age of 32. The coroner has issued a statement that no foul play is suspected and that he hopes to conduct an autopsy as soon as possible. Brittany’s husband of two years, Simon Monjack, is said to have objected to an autopsy. There could be an innocent reason for this, particularly that Brittany and her husband are Jewish. Jewish lawwhich views autopsy as a desecration of the body.
Brittany is also quoted as saying that she had a heart condition since she was a child. She was also very thin recently. TMZ reports that there were prescription drugs found in her home but that no illegal drugs were recovered by authorities.
In the past few weeks we’ve heard stories of Brittany and her husband’s erratic behavior, which many attributed to drug use. Whatever caused her death, it’s no less of a tragedy if it was an accidental drug overdose than if it was a heart condition. We’re sure to find out more in time. The fact remains that a young person has died. It’s just very sad for her family and for the people who loved her.

Brittany Murphy, the 32 year-old actress best known for energetic roles in "Clueless," "8 Mile" and "Sin City," died at 10:04 a.m. PT on Sunday (December 20) in Los Angeles, a spokesperson for Cedars Sinai Hospital confirmed to MTV News. The spokesperson would not provide further details, but TMZ.com reported that the actress went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived. The Los Angeles Times reports that the city's police department has opened a preliminary investigation into Murphy's death.
A rep for the actress said in a statement released Sunday: "In this time of sadness, the family thanks you for your love and support. It is their wish that you respect their privacy."

While Murphy's friends and family mourn her untimely death in private, many celebrities have taken to Twitter to acknowledge the actress' life and work.

Following the shocking news that actress Brittany Murphy has passed away at the young age of 32, more details continue to emerge surrounding her sudden passing.
According to the latest reports, the “Clueless” actress was discovered unconscious in the shower by her mother early on Sunday morning (December 20).
Suffering a full cardiac arrest, Brittany was administered CPR before being transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center - where she was pronounced dead at 10:04AM.
