Here?s a fun story to start off your week. The Cutest Celebrity Couple, Zendaya and Tom Holland, were spotted playing basketball at an Oakland, California middle school over the weekend. They were there alongside actor and basketball player Elvin Rodriguez, Harlem Globetrotters player Sam Diaz, former Bachelorette contestant Christon Staples, and more as a part of an event organized by local nonprofits. Pictures and videos show them shooting hoops, making speeches, doing tricks, and hugging children.
Celebrity couple and Spider-Man costars Zendaya and Tom Holland made a surprise visit to an Oakland middle school on Friday, where they showed off some basketball skills to a crowd of onlookers.
Photos and videos posted to Zendayas Instagram story show the pair in her hometown, attending a basketball game at West Oakland Middle School. They were there as part of a event organized by local nonprofits Hoopbus and Project Backboard.
In Zendayas story, Holland is seen dribbling a basketball and wearing a T-shirt by local clothing brand Oaklandish that reads, Oakland Roots. A video posted by Hustle actor and basketball player Elvin Rodriguez shows Zendaya assisting him with a layup on the court.
Another video posted by Regular Hoops shows Harlem Globetrotters player Sam Diaz teaching Holland how to spin a basketball.
Hoopbus operates out of a retrofitted 40-foot yellow school bus that is driven around the country. Members teach students about racism and racial inequalities via basketball demonstrations. Project Backboard renovates basketball courts at public schools using colorful, large-scale artwork.
I just came to say hi to all of you, see your beautiful faces, and have a great time, Zendaya said in a speech given to the crowd.
Zendaya was raised in Oakland and attended Oakland School for the Arts.

I love this so much! I checked out Zendaya?s, Rodriguez?s, and a bunch of other Instagram accounts that posted pictures and stories from the event over the weekend and it looked like everyone was having a blast. Personally, I really enjoy stories like this, where lowkey celebs show up to a community event, don?t act like divas or a-holes, raise money or awareness for a good cause, and don?t have any ulterior motive. Bonus points if they have ties to the community.
Tom and Zendaya have reportedly been together since 2021. They keep their relationship pretty private by Hollywood standards and never seem thirsty for attention. I don?t think they walk a lot of red carpets together, either, which respect but I wish they would! It looks like the most public thing they tend to do is comment on each other?s Instagram posts with lovey-dovey emojis. I do hope they start doing more things like this together. It makes me like them even as a couple even more than I do now. Something I enjoy about Zendaya and Tom Holland?s relationship is the feeling that they both make each other a priority. They don?t take each other for granted, and they prioritize spending time together and going on dates and traveling to see each other. They?re only 26 and they both work a lot (her more than him), and imagine how easy it would be for one of them to say ?no, my career is the most important thing right now, I don?t have time for this.? But they stick with it. They?re so cute. Well, Zendaya was recently interviewed in the Sun and she was asked about Tom?s British accent and whether she has trouble understanding British accents in general.
In an exclusive chat with The Sun on Sunday, she said: ?I love the British accent, but as much as Tom tries to explain it to me, I will never understand rhyming slang. Like I understand the concept ? but what do apples and pears have to do with stairs? It?s cute when he tells me all the different phrases ? but I really don?t get it!?
Despite their combined Instagram following of 241million fans, Zendaya and Tom proved they were just like any other couple when they were snapped pushing their Waitrose trolley in South West London last month. It comes after they were reported to have picked up the keys to a 3million, six-bed pad in Richmond last year ? four miles from Kingston upon Thames, where Tom grew up.
Settling into life in London, Zendaya said: ?He is really good in the kitchen, which is fortunate as I am really accident-prone. We learnt early on that only one of us could be in the kitchen at a time, we are both control freaks so we can?t be in there together.?

God, I love the American girlfriend + British boyfriend combo. They?re just the cutest I can imagine Tom thoughtfully and diligently cooking for Zendaya and telling her she?s not allowed in the kitchen or else they?ll fight. As for rhyming slang? I don?t get it either? But then I have trouble with some British accents too, especially Cockney. Like, I don?t know what those people are saying half the time. Regional British slang is bonkers too.
Tom is such a short king.

Here are some photos from this weekend?s NAACP Image Awards. Zendaya, as always, was a huge hit on the red carpet. She?s such a Fashion Girl, my God. What?s amazing about Zendaya is how she elevates boring or even bad looks. Like, this Versace gown is by itself not all that great. The little fabric suction cups on her chest are simply a bad design element. But the effect overall is that Zendaya looks amazing, because she?s so beautiful and fresh. I love her lil? haircut too, that length is PERFECT on her.
Blac Chyna looks surprisingly put together in this orange gown. I dislike orange, in general, and the shoulders of the dress bug me, but whatever. This was an okay appearance for her.
Yara Shahidi in a mullet dress to me, Yara is a lot like Zendaya in that they?re young and they have great fashion sense and a lot of young people are incredibly inspired by them. This look is a miss though the color is the only thing I like.
Regina Hall I actually love this dress? It looks so cool. Zendaya would be fire in this dress.
Sophia Bush looked dowdy as hell, but good for her.
Shannon Thornton in Tony Ward. This is such a throwback look to the early ?00s. Paris Hilton used to wear dresses like this all the time.
